[Music] hi I'm Troy Slavens from Valparaiso week a stony attractor and today we're gonna talk about the proper way to load that wrap in a baler okay so usually when you use really see the nut wrap and it's properly loaded it's nice and even all the way along the top rubber roll there is no net wrap that is wrapped around the edge that can rip off and catch this because with it rips off and catches it it's gonna be like a bunch of little fingers and it'll rip it off this roll and wrap it around this roll and that's what we don't want we got to take the handbrake off that's done by just lifting this up okay so usually when there's a problem with the nut wrap it ends up being all frayed out like this so the first thing we need to do is get rid of all these little tails right here well they tell you use a pair of scissors but I don't know anybody that carries scissors in their pocket so we're gonna use a sharp pocketknife we bunch it up just like this go past all the ripped up portion of the net wrap fold it over and cut it make one nice clean cut discard that but don't leave it in the field put it in the tractor cab so it doesn't end up in your mower conditioner roll it over the top the neck wrap take this portion here that you just cut make a loop put the loop in to the net wrap and you can use your hand to gently feed it in or the break over here this handle because you had to release the brake and you push it down when you push the brake down like this bring it it up and pushing it down it's feeding the net wrap through the rubber roll and the steel roll now comes the part where everybody messes up we have to look in on this side over here between the steel roll and the rubber roll and you want to have one inch of loop showing through both of these rolls straight through the center so what is too much that's too much this is about what it is about one inch sticking out so then your next step after you fed it through take your net reps roll put it through roll up any loose that's dangling properly loaded and in case you ever forget the proper way the net wrap goes in the chamber here there's always a diagram right here and shows one inch going through that loop and something else that people usually forget about these round balers is that there is a brush below the steel roll and a lot of times we neglect this and we don't see all the debris and the chaff that builds up in here what can happen if we have leave all the chaff in there eventually it'll affect our net wrap performance another item we got is the cage these bolts can come loose these this cage is on the bottom here and acts as a guide for the net wrap when it gets fed through it pushes the net wrap against the belt and it's fed towards the front towards the bale so if you do a lot of road travel and you have problems with the net wrap check and see that these bolts have not come loose there's one on the right and one on the left allowing this cage to drop down in conclusion net wrap difficulties is often eliminated by the proper loading of the nut wrap so we want to make sure we have a clean cut on the net wrap loop it over have it sticking through only one inch that is usually the number one reason for our service calls [Music]
