Jetty Fishing Packery Channel!! (Corpus Christi Texas)

hey what's going on so you know the last video i said that uh i'm in corpus currently so i'm here doing covert response nursing and uh i have a pretty sweet hotel set up not even gonna lie so what i'm gonna be doing is flying the drone from the hotel i'm right on corpus christi bay it's a beautiful morning the sun's just now peeking over the clouds i hope you guys enjoy the drone footage because i definitely enjoy it from my balcony let's go fly uh pretty fun way to start this video just showing you guys kind of my surroundings and uh i'm gonna be running down to packery channel this morning and gonna do a little fishing so pack your channel if you haven't heard of it it's south of corpus christi let's corpus christie bay dump into the gulf of mexico so i'm pretty excited about it i got some lures on my throw got some spoons of course i would love to catch some spanish mackerel except since i'm staying in a hotel i'm not gonna be keeping any fish today but doesn't mean that i can't go try and catch some yeah it's a beautiful morning there's a high chance of rain today i looked at the radar didn't really see any anything around us so i'm just gonna go for it and i'll see you guys pack your channel [Music] you [Music] all right welcome out to packery channel dude this water looks amazing the winds are pretty high but the water is still just super super super clean you guys saw in that drone footage i mean you can see the bottom from the drone which is absolutely insane to me uh i have a feeling i might get a bite so i'm getting set up sick look how like this backpack just stays perfectly on this rail pretty stoked about that i'm starting off with this rapila x wrap twitching minnow oh that's a nice rig dang so i've got the old rappel on as you guys can see it's got those single hooks which i'm really happy about all right let's walk down these rocks without slipping and falling in because that would severely suck pretty sweet setup and toss that booger out there and just start twitching it oh already had a hit i already had a hit dude oh heck yeah all right got a half ounce spoon on pretty good world of that dark patch and just start jigging there we go fish on you go looks like a nice trout oh yeah it's a nice trout that's what i'm talking about boom first trout out at packery channel silver spoon they put in work man like i said he's probably keep but i don't have anything to clean him with and i'm staying in a hotel so a little different than usual but today will be catch and release unless i catch something and i just want to cook it up today i don't know we'll see i'll let this guy go though there you go little guy swim on like he's just cruising yeah dang that's crazy to be able to see him swim off like that absolutely crazy oh that's so sick first fish factory channel this water is just insanely clear insane fish one that's what i'm talking about dude that is what i'm talking about i actually slowed my retrieve down quite a bit for that guy i was popping it pretty quick i think i'm just gonna just let it work a little slower and there's another one yeah dude freaking smashing them this guy's smaller than the last one let's see if i can just get him off down here little dink guy ah there we go let's let him go trout number two and that was like the second cast after i caught my first trail i'm figuring him out dude trout love silver spoons there's no doubt about it and they are here for sure this feels great there's another one already that was the first cast after i got that last one oh it's a branch okay i was like it's not fighting back yeah i'm all excited i'm getting hook set happy right here hook set happy get it back out man this reel needs some tlc might have to get some wd-40 to spray this guy down or just some real oil i don't know because it sounded pretty junky and i don't have any of that stuff with me um i think i got more grass dang stick come on stick get out of here so throw right outside of that patch man the current is ripping out right now it's pretty wild there we go there's one there's another oh it came off dang it that was a better trout too that was a better trout for sure they're right on the back side of this ledge just let that current bring my lure out with it and that's what they're doing they're feeding on that outgoing tide dang man that was a better one too well you guys didn't see it but i caught trout number three another little dink um i am using a smaller spoon but it doesn't matter i'm catching fish this is awesome definitely haven't seen anyone else pull anything up and i've caught three in a matter of 30 minutes so i'm gonna keep this up oh my gosh that was another solid thumb right there at the rocks right on the edge that's what i'm talking about trout number four still a dink still dinkers but i mean not bad for coming out to a place for the first time and nailing for trout pretty quick in succession let them go all right guys this would be my last cast my uh bites died for sure or they moved either way i haven't got a fish in a while there we go there we go as soon as i say this will be last cast that's keeper trout yup oh man i hope he gets out of there okay now there's a big gap i think you can get out well right when i say that it's gonna be the last cast i catch a pretty decent trout probably 16 to 18. not huge but he was fat fell right in this crack he took off so that sucks but like i said i can't keep anything it's just real hard to let nice fish go when i'm catching them all right well i caught that one i'm gonna keep fishing here for some more cause i just caught it so let's get back to it yep it's snack time and man not too shabby of a way to spend a morning into the afternoon probably won't stay out here too too much longer it looks like a little rain clouds are starting to roll in but uh awesome freaking day couldn't ask for more than this on my off day yeah a little fritos and bean dip always hits the spot that does it for today oh felt so good getting out here catching some fish first time at packery channel and i'm pretty happy with how that turned out uh i missed a couple that were solid fish they just either they dumped it and i was laid on the hook set or they actually came off in the water yeah can't complain about that at all i probably fished for two hours caught four trout missed a couple more and i got to enjoy this beautiful water and the beach and some sunshine ah you guys know i love the beach well uh that will conclude this episode of kagan fishing i'll catch you
