when I say that people are left brain please don't think that I'm saying they're not smart left brain people can be very very smart and when our son beaver was 16 years old if we'd had a little girl we're gonna call her muskrat but the boy he was a handful now right now he's married got two teenaged boys got a wonderful wife he just makes them tow the line but back when we had him oh man it was tough we can try to laugh about it now and when he was 16 we went to that first PTA meeting that you have in September when you go over there and you go through the entire classroom schedule and hear how well everybody else's child is doing because they smile when they walk out of the room and they just got written all over him I have had a good rapport and so we're left brain and I went over and we went through each class and every class we heard the same thing started building on itself building on itself because what we were hearing was beaver hadn't turned in a piece of homework since school started not a piece now he was waving papers at us every morning said I got it I got it it's all over here here it is this is fine but every teacher would say he hadn't turned in anything we got in the car and I was livid and now I go around the country saying look for the humor in stressful situations but I was livid and I called on the lines my mother had used I'm gonna skin him alive I'm going to jerk a knot in his arms and legs and my best one when we get home I'm on us wring his neck like a chicken left right said you you need to calm down for one thing if you say things like that in today's world someone will turn you in to social services and number two if you tell beaver you're going to wring his neck like a chicken he'll burst out laughing and I will too we both know you never touched a live chicken in your life and then left-brain said let me handle it why would you have let me handle it I don't want to say that I could handle things better than you but you're upset and you know I I was a principal I trained in this and I would never tell you something like this Jeannie you've never heard me say it but the truth is you know I have a doctorate in education it reminded me of the greatest television show ever produced The Andy Griffith Show when Thelma Lou said to Barney now you're throwing your education at me I said well I have a physical education degree and I'd like to go in the house and drew like a coach and yell at him from the sidelines he said you just calm down because this is what you do in education and I'm just listening he said you get the student to tell you what they did wrong he said we don't go in yelling at him and doing this you go up and say we've been to the school probably we've learned tell us what you think tell us what you think I said well all right it doesn't make sense to me I'd rather yell at him so he went in and we said beaver we want to talk to you in the living room and Heber said no not the living room no we told him not long ago if something happened to us he would get the furniture in the house and he said I don't want anything from the living room I never never went up there that I wasn't in a whole lot of trouble and I don't want it we sat down I said okay mr. education you're up and he said beaver we've been over to the Scoob and we've met with all the teachers and we've heard something and we saw a lot of the parents of your your friends and we feel like it's something you might want to tell us before we tell you about it Jerry setback because he was quite proud of himself and beaver said well brick bought the beer you you
