Jay Leno Gives Bubba Watson The Chance To Drive His Dream Car | CNBC Prime

[Music] i'm here in the corvette section of my garage so i'm waiting for a friend of mine who's not only a great sports star but a chevy dealer as well he's promised to bring something special he wants to show me so he should be coming any second now [Music] wow bubba see with name like bubble you should be in a camaro but that's okay thanks good to see you my friend how are you doing good to see you bubba watson is no doubt one of the best golfers around i don't know much about golf but i know this guy hits the ball long and straight he's had a number of tour wins including winning the masters twice which is a pretty big deal you know you get that green blazer very attractive tell us what we have here we've got a carbon 65 corvette 65 years of the corvette so they wanted to show it off a little bit just a fun car to drive a little convertible you know let the hair blow 650 horsepower wow get you from here to there real fast very nice now you're a chevy guy now right and you bought a car dealership tell me about that yeah my wife got mad at me buying cars so i said i'll show her i'll buy 200 at one time so i got a deal yeah exactly well you know i invited you here besides being a great sports star and you like cars you and i had a conversation here on the tonight show with me probably seven years ago in the dressing room and we were talking about cars and you know dream cars when we were kids and there was one car that you mentioned you remember you know what i'm talking about maybe kit from knight rider maybe from knight rider well come on let's take a look let's take a look and see what we can find a team van something like that i don't know 18 van good choice wow this kid now for those of you too young to remember this is kit a highly sophisticated and very talkative car from the 80s tv show knight rider starring germany's favorite american star david hasselhoff you might be thinking kit looks a lot like a 1982 pontiac trans am well you'd be right but trust me this is far from your off the lot base model there's no way it's the original this is the actual one from the show are you sure yes yes i mean i trust you but i mean yeah are you sure though i'm not trying to sell it to you i'm just telling you wow i don't even think david hasselhoff has seen this car in probably 30 years now would you like to drive it you want to take it for a spin i would love to drive yeah are you sure you can handle this kind of power you know you're just driving a lowly corvette that's 650 horsepower this is what uh two thousand how many i didn't know what the horsepower was supposed to be you do whatever it wants do whatever you want give it a shot yeah i would love to you're driving the actual car you are michael knight i feel like him right now now in the world of night ride a kit would have cost over 11 million dollars to produce so let's see what kind of features come stock with a price tag like that okay here's what it has artificial intelligence which is what i have yes molecular bonded shell i don't know what that means oh pyrolastic lamination whatever that means that must have something to do with making it bulletproof turbo boost we all know what that is yeah we can jump with that a morphic equalizer i don't know what does that mean computer override than the regular override there must be five pages of stuff here this is not sub-zero it's got sleep gas when i want to go to sleep i would just watch knight rider so how old were you when you would have been about what gosh i was only uh five years old five okay me and my dad sat around and watched this show yeah and then they started re-airing it yeah yeah you know at a later date this is unbelievable [Applause] with this steering wheel though i didn't know how difficult this was it is true david was a real good actor yeah david has a oh yeah fabulous fabulous actor and a great singer by the way have you ever met anybody from germany and asked about david hasselhoff well martin keimer who plays on the pj tour right i um know him quite well from germany i always bug him i sent him a poster of david hasselhoff yeah saying how great david hasselhoff is and he likes him as a singer i liked him as the actor of night rider did he know it was you sending him pictures not at first oh and then when i started talking to him he was not happy about it oh that's funny he didn't think it was as funny as i did it's that german translation thing yeah it didn't humans don't really have the great sense of humor maybe if i had to sing it to him yeah [Applause] yeah what other motorized things you've been involved with i've teamed up with um oakley we did a hovercraft we made it into a golf cart so i could go around the golf course go through bunkers go everywhere without destroying the golf course it was better than a golf cart and so it goes 55 miles an hour wow it's quite scary when you're trying to go through a bunker or over water yeah i was going to say it you could build some holes in about 20 minutes yeah exactly and then a year or so later we came up with a jet pack so you strap a big old jet to your back you take off so you can see the golf course better so we were trying to how do you improve golf or how do you improve golf carts and so every year we try to come up with a better way to make a rotarized golf cart that's funny i'm not sure what bubba will come up with next but i have a feeling you might see a kick golf cart on the horizon somewhere with the ass the flamethrowers and of course you gotta have turbo boost well bob it took seven years since the last time we spoke about cars to finally track this car down to get you in it but i think it was worth it don't you think i think it was yeah cool
