The Major he flies with is just the coolest cat.
JM: "I think that might be the view of eternity"
M: "Technically speaking you are correct"
Yeah this is some quality frisson right here
This gets me every single time! May's reactions make it all the better, because as impressed and overwhelmed as I am, he is, too.
What plane ✈️ are they in?
inb4 the earth is flat
Or then again, he may not.
The first time I had traveled on an intercontinental commercial airliner, I was so overcome with emotion when I realized what I was seeing. I don't mean seeing a beautiful landscape, or clouds, but just being in seer awe of realizing that you are but a very small part of this planet, let alone the universe.
I cannot imagine what having James' perspective must be like, but I know that I will not die peacefully until I soar through the cosmos, even if it's just around the block, so to say.
I used to envy these guys from top gear. I still do. Who didn't want to be an astronaut when they were a kid? That's the closest I could ever hope for, and they've done it.
James may is a wonderful man.
