something that you know I'm just doing for fun like this is something that I've put a lot into it I don't feel a wrist complaint before I can tell you my parents didn't tell you you know channel at school continued our guy get hurt playing basketball mafia and do products it's people you know on social medias and and all that what told me that stop playing and he's gonna get hurt this in mad but the site if I could definitely be just was better for me along with my family second grade was the first year he played traveling at you so he played for eight and six straight that year we traveled for most of the spring and summer and we Evan spots thanks I'm on the tide of my parents are put in for me is actually ridiculous they've been there every step of the way for me you know ups him down you know it rise into the basins are that I don't feel pressure at all I really don't have too much responsibility right now I don't have to take care of your entire family right now pressures mostly on my parents if anything and they got to keep getting loaded up around the house and they got to worry about are the paychecks and all that so you know for me I just want to make it as easy for them all up in the air at the moment you know it gets overwhelming at times but you can you know try to rush it or try to make it happen too soon because that's me make mistakes I want to start to narrow it down but at the same time you know I want to enjoy it and it's a blessing you know something that not many people get to go through went down to Gonzaga Chet was down there as well and we had a great time getting the atmosphere down there was crazy both times that I've been down there was a Ganesha has just showed so much love to me which means a lot to me because one of the top deciding factors is that family fear that family environment I want an extension of home wherever I'ma be a first-look my basketball goes I have no idea you know which one is gonna be fried to answer that for a million dollars I don't think I'd be getting that million dollars the thing that makes it so hard is just my true local football I remember just sitting back in the house watching football with my dad going to older friends football games i dad used to work the west side you know I'd go up there and see how the older guys play and then it's just football brings a different energy that's what I always tell people ask me why do you why do you still do it or I don't understand you know all the risk and playing football when you have all this ahead in basketball see year I've been a very effective you you can't really help it this some of the pioneers your life you know some of the times that you remember for looking back on it so just been trying to make the most out of it and trying to stay focused and have fun at the same time me at all feels like it came so fast of course I'm so thankful for you know everything that I've done everything that I've been through all the memories and opportunities that I've had now that I'm here you know it was kind of kind of tough you know I don't really want to get away everything's a business but you know it's something that you got to do I knew it was coming I don't know if I'm ready but I know that I'm a I don't put my all into it and I'm gonna be great host the five and one or white Hawk so alone to west Tonka both teams have a live all around about me you can see that they've been playing together since they were young the chemistry between those two they know what they're gonna do they know they're gonna go I don't think I conversion it all comes down to this play record takes the snap runs right looking throws fact the record Spartans are officially the 2019 class 4a state champions came down to two great plays and that they made in overtime so it was for two 17-minute up losing containment on the QB I had my man in the back of the end zone he caught it right in front of me and they were getting a touchdown but they went for two they went for the wind they ran a little jig route to the water sigue i literally picked the ball and it just ended up falling into his lap and he caught it out game over that's one of the toughest losses that I've ever taken in my life I was extremely hard for me I mean I cried all night you can either let it define you or grow for me I took it as a learning experience and moved faster [Music] tonight we're going to do our end of the Year banquet we have some dinner and awards fun night for everyone the banquets always a good time it's a little bit of sweet after the tough loss in the championship but I can't wait to see my guys and coaches again [Music] [Music] the leadership happens right every day's God local leaders we got guys that family my family unfortunately we came up blank north in the state highway with everything they had with a great team this year great leaders I thought we met our expectations and they were nice to win that game in the championship but that's just how that goes everything we did and accomplished was significant and I think you bring every time [Applause] [Music] [Applause] you know everyone was pretty hard over there for a while but you know we could have won that game about a hundred different ways and it will go away over time basketball hockey have started up other sports and those will take their attention and we'll all move past them [Music] those processes translation this season's gonna be a lot of fun I think we're gonna come back and repeat state champion we're just gonna put on a show every game hopefully go undefeated or overall goal is just to play up to our potential if we're hoping that if we do that this year if we play as best we can and we reach our full potential that'll be enough to win a state tournament in 3a I'm super excited to be back on the court my guys know I love basketball a lot so I'm looking to take full advantage of that I got a couple of good dunks now I'm rolling I've coached for a long time and I would hope that other coaches are blessed to have kids like Jalen sometimes in their career and I realize that this is probably a one-in-a-million opportunity for me and so every day I'm really really thankful that they're here this woman was tough I know my guys are gonna get on the dog we got the dugs on and that's all that matters now that football is over it's a little tough through here here it hasn't been a good read are you sad yeah I got no regrets I left it all out that played as hard as I could got something for you came the school there you are man later you jerk Gatorade Player of the Year check that thing out that's no small deal the Gatorade Player of the Year is a big deal there's a hard hell you know I hate losing but at the end of the day I took in right now I mean I got to focus on myself in my future you know what's best for me and my family I've extremely rare opportunity to get a lot of money playing a sport i sat down on my dad and this is true story I told him you know I love football money I love basketball do he told me as I understand that you're great at football for sure could do some things with that you know if you want to but the opportunity that you have a basketball right now is something that many people wish they had and something that you can't really pass up no other chance to create generational wealth not only for myself but for my kids and therefore my kids good so when you kind of broke it down like that you know we just had the two men that may have talked I knew right then it was something that I couldn't pass up that basketball just a right now I'm gonna have to go the thing I miss most about football is just the joy that it brings to me basketball it's just a lot different football you can just come out and use that all your anger out you play with emotion in control but with emotion and it brings a whole nother level of joy to me and basketball it does and it's kind of hard to explain unless you've kind of been through it you know and you play football but just the pure joy that football brings to me you know is what I miss most about it I know football always be there for me if I want to go back but you know this basketball thing is something I got to do I'm super excited to play the next level it's been a childhood dream of mine to get out on that college scene playing for like thousands of fans you know screaming and yelling your name I'm ready for you thinking as I go was a easy choice from the moment that I started to having conversation with the coaching staff and then when I went down there and visited the first time and that's when I knew that that was especially it's a business trip I'm looking to handle my business in classroom on the basketball court and hopes to reach my end goal which is to get to the NBA everyone talking about overseas we're thinking about that we're still talking and indigo shading with teams on there trying to make sure that you know money is riding everything so it's definitely not out of the picture right now my focus is on Gonzaga playing at the next level man it's gonna be surreal and I can't wait ever since I've been a kid
