Jaiden Animations SURPRISED with a VRChat Model?

[Music] 20:20 sucks a lot a lot of us are largely avoiding going outside even more than usual which has put us in a desperate position of wishing that we could hang out with our friends in more than just a video call enter virtual reality it's like one of these bad boys on your head and suddenly you can play make believe that you're outside for the first time in months and your hair is as short as you remember as a recent my girlfriend Kiwi and I have been doing occasional Sunday stream showing off cool new worlds in VR chat the platform recently got a crazy update called dude on their own programming language that allows full games and experiences to be created on the platform it's only been out for a short time but the stuff you can do already is quite amazing [Music] [Music] so we started bringing our friends into VR to show them around on stream recently we did Erin who you might have seen in that other video we did this one recently my friend Jaden said she'd be down to explored VR considering it was one of her first times in virtual reality we wanted to give Jaden a memorable experience so I reached out to 3d artist octo Plex and we collaborated on a surprise a fully custom recreation of a cartoon persona inside of VR chat he got to work on the sculpt and kept me updated on the process I redlined the process images and tried to move it closer and closer towards Jaden's drawing style the end result ended up being really impressive with the model completed we secretly uploaded it to Jaden's account and went ahead with the stream as scheduled and this was Jaden's reaction we got something a bit of a surprise for you and I hope to god this work yeah if it didn't I've got it on my account so what I want you to do is if you kindly go to your avatar tab avatar and load the most obvious one that you can see it's should be on the second row oh my god oh my god wait yes he knows what it is it's you this is crazy oh so this is by octo Plex octave Plex Oh si o si tu piel e ex on Twitter I collaborated with God and I art directed it and we he modeled it and I'd like red lines it to make sure it was as close to your drawing style as possible yeah so we got that 3d Jayden oh my god this is so weird yeah right I always joke around like I can be like 2d girl and 3d girl this is like a weird mix of both also you've got you've got expressions so I don't know if you can see this but I have a camera right here for chatez but yeah so when you do give a thumbs up you've got a little bit of a smirk and if you do I think one of them yeah you've got like a little happy face so you got a bunch of different faces that's so cool octi Plex also set up a trap so I we made sure of this so your eyes when you generally draw your up and your soda I guess you have the eyeballs in front of the hair even though technically they're behind the hair so he actually hunted down a shader so even though the eyes are actually behind the hair they basically come through them that's so cool let's hit my desk we just wanted you to have fun today so we we collaborated with them did you find your remotes yeah I'm doing pinguin one actually I'm looking at awhile now I actually forgot that octave Plex added a bunch of really really cool ones for you you should definitely try them oh my god that's amazing I can't see it it's the dance the the Hatton's time dance how do I get a mirror here is there a mirror here give us give us a dance Jin oh you pose [Laughter] this is such a great job when there's a pandemic oh and you can't see a friend mmm at least you got virtual reality Life Alert yes I want to see the smug damn me when I see ducks we had a great time and we even got to bring along the main machine wallah thon [Music] [Laughter] we got to shoot lasers fly jets okay that's full on okay okay I've got this and even pet some ducks come here oh my god it's like real life for those brief few hours it really felt like a great escape away from the garbage that is being 2020 while in its infancy I think virtual reality is an amazing tool it has the potential to make the world even smaller and bring people together as the technology gets better with hand-eye and full face tracking I think that it will reach a point where virtual reality will be indistinguishable from interaction in real life over the next week or so we'll be sharing the best moments of the stream in edited highlights so if you enjoyed this video please subscribe to catch the rest if you're interested in catching future VR streams follow us at twitch TV slash rubber ninja thanks for watching
