JACK IN THE BOX! RISK REWARD! :: Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ Mod Spotlights

hello everybody and welcome to another mod spotlight in the binding of issac Kasterborous plots were playing the jack-in-the-box mod today which is a mod by the discord very own astral penguin 6:42 and also meow who I believe also goes by catnip overdose jackin box is an interesting active item I don't want to spoil it a whole hell of a lot and frankly I still don't know everything about it but I have played at least a very tiny bit with it just so that I know what's going on and I don't look entirely clueless let's spawn in this bad boy is going to be right here I'm happy to have it here's a seed 6w for Toledo le T 0 yeah 8 inch nails was a great addition to this run we're going to pop jack-in-the-box in here so it will spin around and then it will spawn enemies you're probably like Tyler this mod seems stupid but it's gonna spawn enemies occasionally it gives you an item and that's all I know ok I don't know if that's everything to it it said that there's a lot of surprises so I don't know eventually it just like throws the hush into the room that you're in that would suck but you can get like a lot of items from this so that's the plan I mean this this was real sucky because that was a lot of enemies that came out of that one but I'm intrigued with this item it really is it defines risk/reward because you're either getting rewarded by pressing it or you're getting absolutely Rochambeau by pressing it and I suppose there's a chance you don't get Rochambeau if you you know are actually good at Isaac and can hit these freaking inky buses oh my god I don't not yet but anyway it's an interesting mod and I'm excited to do this full little playthrough of it so we can see everything there is to see with this I would love some bombs if you want to swing bombs in my general direction those spirit hearts we really feel good all over my body on this run right now I also do not want to deal with this room any longer I also don't really want to deal with this guy any longer what the hell's up with the horrible rooms on this first floor if this is indicative of how the run is going to go peace out I'll catch you guys later can't really complain about 8-inch nails though it's really good it's a real nice damage up it's a real nice a lot of things up like knock back which is not exactly nice but beside the point let's get some soy milk up in here we'll have battle of knock back items but overall still pretty good nothing out of that I will come in here and pop jack-in-the-box item please mmm thank you for a completely useless item okay well people are like oh yeah let me go download this right now looks like a blast and a half or we get another bomb useful to get there but I promise you I did when I was playing a little bit off-camera I did get some okay items out of it so there's definitely you can get ok stuff it's not always Jack Black crap horrible instead we can maybe get some super benefits on this run though apparently I'm not allowed to get any bonds which is just absolutely phenomenal let's go into the curse room bomb head bomb how badly bomb sure and the thumbs okay we got a lot of bombs actually that couldn't have worked any better then we come here we place at windows a bomb and let those they bomb and I'll go back and we'll do the tinted rock for a third bomb then honestly small rock would be huge for us this early give us that early damage swing but I understand don't mean no swing if you don't got that ring I don't understand what I'm saying so we'll just move on here we got spirit heart protection for the next floor we also have a stupid amount of damage right now because of Samson getting hit 900 times in his career so we're going to be just fine good night I'll be giving meat which is its HP and damage so find one person who does not want me to take that let's just head on down so deal with the devil on this floor obviously a lot of benefit getting it you know something like even a brimstone on this run I would be very okay with because we're not trying to showcase like synergies of an item we're trying to showcase everything that this little jack-in-the-box can do and I don't know what it can do but clearing out enemies is going to make it easier that I know so the easier it is to clear enemies the faster we can see the benefits of this stupid item which is not stupid it's a great item I love it the sound is triggering me like a lot but Bob's brain people are like Tyler yeah this item ain't giving good items I promise it can at least I think I don't know we're going to play though and we'll figure things out as time goes now I like Bob's brain but I know a lot of you don't so that's why I said the things I said I know what I said I said the things that I said said said said Ted in bed and so his red head jack-in-the-box give me the good stuff dollars today is not a good stuff not a good stuff not the good not good it's not good please no you don't understand I've deal double I have to get you on harmed or else I'd lose that opportunity thank you Bob's brain continue to put in the work prove these haters wrong also we can't even go to our item room on this floor since I've made the pact which by the way please give me the packs from the item the old devil but I've made packs to only take the first or the second floor item room on a mod spotlight we took the first floor so there's no reason to waste my key going in the second floor let's just get this show on the road we should be to beat a normal little horn without getting hit I only got four hearts to gamble away in this deal to battle and it'll be a happy-go-lucky time honestly binky is beautiful good tears up the old devil is absolutely phenomenal okay um take this take it to this and then take it to this and then pop it the distant here I don't know if using this in here means that we can get a deal to bevel item it didn't by the way but it could've let's head down we're doing good is a good run a lot of strong benefit good HP Anki boost is obviously going to do us a number on this run we already got seven point seven nine damage so combine that with Incubus is like fifteen damage already on this run that's a buttload damage man and I will continue to Jack my box 24/7 that sounded so wrong but you know what none of you care cuz you're all horny teenagers anyway at least the majority of you some of you are like forty-seven for that I apologize for my crude gesture that I just did there but you'll understand I'm sure you're watching a game about it kid who plunges the knife into his mom's uterus though you can't really say a word to me right now about crude craft unjustifiable behavior what am I saying I don't know I do want to use this jack-in-the-box in this room though give me an item hey an item is another crappy item you got to be kidding me man we are going to be one step closer to Bob transformation which everybody get hyped it's you know the best transformation the game will get Seraphin and then we are going to make a way to a shot because we do have 14 cents and a lot of you're going to say Tyler you had 14 sons on the last four but you're going to shop on the last floor I was that and my answer to you is laziness is kind of a main one in here is nothing I desire I feels like I'm walking on sunshine oh whoa I feel like there should be a thing every time we get a walking on sunshine pill you got to go low can we get behind that I'll fund that honestly let's go fight our boss we're doing really good on time on this run which is like you know it's not required but making it the boss rush would not necessarily be a bad idea and I am going to pop at the jacket box right now and he did spawn enemies so screw him honestly but he could have spawned an item instead we get mom's underwear pretty bad floor and all honestly we're just going to head on down there's no reason to stay here might as well continue your trek through life no I don't see any reason to even remotely desire that room instead we'll just continue to Rochambeau every enemy on this side of the nuthouse jackin the-box boys nothing I will continue to gamble my way for every extra item that I can an extra item is an extra bit of fun that's how they should advertise our glasses horrible that's how they should advertise this item an extra item is extra fun but don't have too much fun or else you're going to fight the harsh in a small room I'm waiting for that to happen if it happened Astro I'm gonna be so mad at you if that's your idea of a fun surprise man you are in for a fun surprise yourself but anyway let's get going with the shop has the ability to be very good for us it's just we haven't gotten any good items out of our shop yet I spent a lot of crappy items I mean not crappy but just items that don't fit into this mod spotlight you know something like blue candle while being a good item is really not needed by me on this run we're going to stick with jack-in-the-box probably for the entire run just to see how many items we can collect so far we've gotten three items from jack-in-the-box which a lot of people are going to look at and go you know okay is it really worth my time to continue to fight enemies for and Deadeye is really good so suck on my you know what for that elbow that I was really good actually a beautiful addition to the run but I want to see how many free items we can actually get from this a new guy from this how many free items we can actually get from this so far we're up to four granted three of those items were pretty garbo but the one we just got was so not Darbo and maybe that's the thing maybe the more you do it they start with crappier items and then they move on to be better or it's completely random I mean that that probably is the more likely choice I'm sure Astro will end up explaining it in the comments down below and then I'll read it and go okay cool nod smile and then forget about it the next time I use this mod in the modded series it'll be a good time it's going good I would love all this money and we actually managed to put a pretty decent bomb in there we got a good chunk I'm not going to say how many because frankly I didn't count but we got a good chunk of the money and if you're wondering what I'm gonna do about that room with four golden chests don't you worry that room I'm going to come back because that room could be like super good if it pops out a cricket ad or something like that so just you wait just you wait just you wait bellybutton I don't got a bellybutton that's a VeggieTales reference yes you are correct what is this Guppies paw okay I mean we can't do anything else in there so I'm just going to move on out a little sucky because we could have really made things pop off in there if we had even the remotest amount of HP but we don't have the remotest amount of HP thus we can't do jack all in their belly button is okay allows us to hold an extra trinket which is why I probably should have picked up the trinket huh that's fine we'll take this crooked tiny Terra cloth the magician okay well we're going to do something here we've done it okay crack a lack in this room and you're probably like Tyler you're really about to pop an entire room worth of poop this poop over the bottom red corner got a little bit uh carried away but I am going to pop this entire room poop and the reasoning is if we get 15 cents that's another free shop item you know we also got a spirit heart if we get petrified poop we're walking out here with like nine tons man so just allow me to do my business literally like I'm crapping all over the floor in here allow me to do my business and popping these poops I will collect the riches of my poop at the end I'm hoping for petrified poops sometimes the century there it is okay and this is where we really pop off and we're going to get a crapload of money in a crapload of everything Auditors so all you haters can screw off suck my elbow because we're about to get rich from tube and that is why any of you that say The Cardigans humanity is a bad card you don't know how to use it honestly it's a pretty good card and when I get it I get relatively I happy I enjoy my life upon giving it because we had like five cents look at our money do you see our money you see what I see do you see what I see okay come back down here now and in here we pick up jack-in-the-box then you pop this you buy this it's the Bible you use it to access these consumables not that they're super useful but they are something then you pop this again you buy this jar flies really bad you bond it again and then you buy these decks cards could be good the power not good magician still not good the candle also not good and then you take Kruger tiny and you go boom and it's all gone and then you spawn back in jack-in-the-box okay and if people are mad about that then honestly you're not living a full life because you should not get mad about that that was just a very basic technique that I use and then I spawn back in the item we're supposed to be spotlighting so you know what don't even say a word to me you allowed me to come back in here I will take this it's gimpy gimpy is really nothing of my desire I would not mind being able to the fact that we have a holy mantle charged I'll pop this in here I would not mind being able to go back in there and get the last one but we're not going to get enough HP for that I am going to be smart though wow that's a change I'm going to be smart and I'm going to go get the spirit heart that's not for sale charge baby mister me okay I mean it is also a good modded item skill that for me you didn't steal that you dummy okay well fine we'll live life on the edge we're living on the edge then a Stan Stan Stan Stan Stan Steven Tyler pops into your living room pops inside out there's somebody call okay anyway let's head down to the next floor we spent a lot of time on that floor to the point where we possibly ruined our chances at a boss rush scenario aoao what's the scenario but even if we did who cares because we got muchos beneficios that is Spanish for a lot of benefit in case you didn't pick up on that it's not actually Spanish for a lot of benefit please don't think that I hate the Spanish people for things like that okay just shut up Tyler say nothing do this and then pop this we have not gotten an item in a hot minute from this we also are having a near-death experience which is making me not want to pop this bad boy again because that's going to result in a really bad time if we get hit because then I'm going to die is basically what I'm getting it so play it cool for now we don't have slide on this run right I don't believe so magician we don't need the magician although you know what Hallows Blackheart I saw it I ran to it I enjoyed it stick with magician I do like the idea of we love fourth wheel of fortune just because it can it can help us gotta scare the crap out of me too you have no idea okay come back in here we'll fortune throw it on a bomb pill feels like I'm walking on sunshine you got to hold on to this right now you also have to hope that we can sneak we're not gonna be able to make that in okay I don't know where these guys are so walking on sunshine doesn't deal damage you got it Academy I don't know where they are they're down here they're around here I'm scared why did why did this room fluster me he's down there down here I was really flustered okay spirit heart please we did get one my apologies for all of a sudden getting serious this run decided to ruin my afternoon by making me stress a little bit and I'm sorry for not popping jack-in-the-box in a hot minute the stress kind of does that that is not an item it also just threw out like 85 spiders you see these spiders and that was almost bad as well here's our enema Manor shop though both valuable for their own separate ways item room to hopefully give me some chance of survival shop to hopefully give me some chance of survival diplopia well we'll check what this is we don't need to diplopia that I would love to get diplopia I solely if we get a deal with devil to use it on that but I'll patiently wait my turn in life could get my money my brains gears are moving far too fast right now trying to figure out what I'm doing on this run so I have to worry about Bob's brain then I have to worry about what should it be popping jack-in-the-box and then I have to worry about it all I have to HP what are you infested then I have to worry about rooms like this that are just absolute BS I will pass and then we have to pop jack-in-the-box we don't have to but we did I'm just hoping I get a item out of it soon speed down it's real horrible item no item well fight the boss is brownie I mean this could be really bad in all seriousness brownies not an easy enemy but we've done it No Deal oh you gave me a damn deal oh it's fine okay this is good lump of coal thank you I'm sure well you'll do this in here I feel like I'm actually in a deal to devil because of the stupid Incubus all right sure we're in a crappy spot let's head down and hope to god that we do something with it to make our lives better cool good good stuff honestly good good stuff doll not good stuff scary stuff Jesus Lord dude okay uh top this top it this and pop of this give me that spirit hard that dang spirit heart now find me that dank item room please and thank you and everything in between and that would make me a happy man and when he make me a happy man you make give me a happy plan I don't know really what I'm saying but it makes sense in my head ah by the spirit heart and donate a penny because we actually destroyed our donation machine on the vortex or mod spotlight and then we end up dying so that also it wasn't the best but what you're going to do I suppose we are going to pop jack box in the box Jack in the Box jack in the box okay item god we have not gotten an item in a hot minute man maybe the chances get worse as you go on it's got to be the case because we have not gotten an item in so long I could spoil it for myself and just go read the page for it shortly I mean thank you so much for finding a super saving room for me no item there's got to be something that I'm missing here oh it just brought us back so far okay that's fine because I still gotta find the item room but Jesus Lord dude a hike and a hafidh sent us item room not an item room but in Isaac's bedroom which is actually like almost just as good because this is going to give us a good 3 or 4 HP I don't remember let me sleep yeah 3 HP that's a good stuff allow me to find my item room and we can move on toward a beautiful swell tractor beam it's ok it's a Tyrael upgrade so I can't really be mad and I'm going to check out this room up here we have a guppy item so red chests are useful and red chests normally appear in here that's just horrible sure I'll pop this in here no way it ends poor we got a brim dude good night to him let's check the page real quick and let's see exactly ok ahh bigger the room the more enemies spawn I was pulled from the pool from the room that you were in gotcha after each payout the chance of receiving a payout of the future is decreased gotcha each consecutive time the Box spawns enemies a chance for the Box to pay out has increased chances reset when they Adam pays out gives each tier a 50% chance to be spectral for the room one use that is so useless okay after a third payout number of enemies that spawn is increased by one after the fourth the enemy pool is considerably harder after the fourth there is a very low chance for Satan to spawn every following payout increases the chance of Satan okay so we are basically just playing with fire at this point we maybe shouldn't pop it anymore but you know I'm going to frankly I feel like I haven't succeeded if I don't spawn Satan on this so continue to make me pay out so we can spawn Satan Kayla Lundy's sure good addition will I ever utilize it in any way shape and form not at all this is pin it's not pin it's a literally a big empty room you kidding me Oh give me all the enemies hell yeah hit me with your best shot fire away okay well at this point there's only one place to go and that place is to the mob fight so let's do this thing let's do that little thing dang okay I'll stop I don't why it does what happens when you record and stream for a long time one day you start to lose all sense of the English language also the French language which I know very little of a one vaunt wah-wah-wah cuatro Cinco seis let's go down uh what it takes a kegger you askin sec Dagon is good that's why is it worth three spirit arts it's arguable I'd say yeah is it worth three spirit hearts is this far in the run okay maybe not but it's still good and I'm happy to have it our damage is really good on this run I didn't really realize just how good it was because that's without Samson's uh bonus - so our damage is just legitimately good on this run and then seen you know we're destroying stuff it's just our HP's done so sketch that I've been skeptical to do anything that was a lot of enemies it's gone I think we're up to five payouts I'm just waiting for Satan this one that's all I really desire in life is Satan to spawn out of this jack-in-the-box like how does that even work though to spawn all three phases of Satan oh I used it twice I didn't know you couldn't use it points I was trying to double whammy enemies in this room apparently not how it works what do we got in here nothing I desire let's just continue right if this isn't the way to the boss your boys going to be real confused it's not the way to the boss your boys real confused this is probably a CV room though you kidding me right okay good talk uh where do you think it is now it's got to be up around through the big room so big room we go also pop a jack-in-the-box in here Satan no Satan never did I think that I would be wanting Satanist on and I really had don't want him to spawn it's not like I'm waiting for a happy tea party with them I just want to see Satan pop out of that jack-in-the-box that sounds enjoyable even if it kills me sounds like a damn good time give me another hit me with your best shot don't you understand that Pat Benatar is in the building probably not it's going good I won't make the M&M reference but it's going good one might even say it's going great I am Superman though I'm a lot less than Superman Superman actually benefits Society I sit here and I play video games on the Internet so you know it's no biggie kaboom it's going to be a long time till we see our next payout but I will say our even if we never get another payout simply getting that I from this makes it worth it you know that was what fourth payout we got that I it's not bad man and we got some pretty bad items from it but that's just poor luck I mean you're going to have times when you get good items you're gonna have times you get bad items risk/reward drops Mike I'm going to crack into this we got infinite pardon me we got infinite bombs and a lot of keys no reason not to item rosary gives me some HP that's fine even greater chance of satan no can't deny that let's do this sis do this we're going to hopefully get a deal doubled and pop this in there okay good talk halo is good though we get the Seraphim transformation it's been a while since I've got that let's head on down we're not making a Tosh on this one but that's okay we've had a relatively slow run mainly because we're doing extra enemies in like every single room because of a jack-in-the-box the jack-of-all-trades mr. box a free syringe is also fine than that Dan pad nnnn to Dan and Dan and nnnn nnnn what makes you small I like it I like it I want it I need more of it what I really need is for Satan to spawn out of this little jack-in-the-box well we get a good item man mysterious liquid is a good item it's hard to sit here and complain little good stuff and we haven't had Satan pop out yet and you gave me cursed I'm gonna pass on that one I appreciate it but cursed I is not on my to-do list for today winning this run is really like the only thing left on my to-do list for today and it appears like we've got that borderline in the bag the mysterious liquid does a lot more than you think because we really the damage increase from it got real nice there's a lot of enemies every time we pop this we are getting more and more enemies but with our damage raising if they continue to give us good items what the hell do I care if it uh pops out more enemies I can handle them we'll pop into the deal to devil in the hopes of getting an item out of that that would be pretty swell pretty swell new pill and Isak pretty swell now no deal so I'll fight things while trying not to we spawn Satan we got cat of nine tails when we spawn Satan I like it honestly I would make this trade time out of ten times cat-o'-nine-tails for Satan let's do it does it work in the NBA trade machine I got no idea but I'm so okay with this it's worked really well in our favor I don't care what anybody says this is like a really good thing that we've done in life jack-in-the-box is legitimately paid out it's hard for me to sit here and be mad all right let's do this thing let's do that little booty thing I don't know I keep on desiring saying that okay oh my lord look at this just look at it okay well this is not that great but blank rune the gods blank rune is that another de gods on Seuss I like it part throw Birkin oh we will save the perthro for the chest next floor thing in the hopes of it paying out with something along the lines of I don't know proptosis plus I don't even know what else Polyphemus proptosis Libre I don't know something like that Libre would be so good on this run right now give me that Libre and then give me like use mascara bunch of other crap I don't know what I'm talking about jack-in-the-box hit me with that Satan let me fight Satan to two times on one run we should have gone down to the dark room fight Satan again give me with your best shot Satan keys keys are fine God Zack pennies it's fine no item a lot of enemies a lotta enemies all which mean nothing to me get the hell out of my way okay Isaac I'm sorry man but you're gonna be dying real quick to rip me into pieces rip me into everything I've ever loved but we're totally fine I I over dramatized situations occasionally when I get scared don't know if you've noticed Tyler we noticed but still interesting odd mushroom honestly it was just they damaged down for us which is pretty bad ah take you know what I'm gonna officially say we are done with we are done with jack-in-the-box it's done a lot of good stuff just to recap we got mysterious liquid cat and ninetails Deadeye Bob's brain bob's rotten head young heart and I missing anything else all just from fighting some enemies occasionally that's like a stupidly good trade I would do that any day of the week honestly I can see how people may dislike this mod but it's super powerful and you really have to fight for your earnings I think it's a very balanced mind it's a very good mod and I had a lot of fun playing and we have like the super stupid powerful run right now which I can also absolutely get behind so stellar stellar excelente I will take holy mantle I'll continue to reroll the rest because I am a heathen that enjoys damage and I will continue to try to stack up damage as long as I live and if that means re-rolling a halfway decent items such as mom's contacts and so be it ain't damaged therefore your boy ain't interested what I really want is Libra Libra would be fun on this run we got a high rate of fire high damage pretty high speed all the stats would even out they'd be nice maybe they wouldn't maybe it'd be bad I have no idea I suppose we have good damn and good tears already so who cares the answer is I care but what do I know pretty much nothing most of the time just continue on I'm not going to go back and reroll stuff although we're going to basically walk right by there again fine you want me hard on May yeah strange attractor that sounds like a stupid idea let's do it since we're going to walk right by the damn thing anyway we might as well come down and reroll them it's right here guillotine sign me up let's take two bad items in a row get a charge one more bad item now stuff what is a good item okay let's do this thing rate of fire is so good right now because the guillotine the strange attractor is honestly like not really affecting anything we are pretty much melting enemies it's one of those runs where you're really powerful but it doesn't feel like it because you don't have like an insane tear effect you know there's no tech technology brimstone it's just on fire in tears and those tears are powerful that's a good feeling it's a very satisfying run and it was a very satisfying run because the run is over at least it will be shortly if you enjoyed hard on it okay if you enjoyed
