Hello friends welcome to Thursday's video sorry I've been away I caught the big Co V Addy yes I did baby um I've had it once before back in January of 2022 but man has this hit harder I think it's because it's been a while since my last immunization but anyway you didn't come here for that we're going to try out the Dollar Tree resin stuff um I know that other channels have tried this stuff but I am not those other channels so I have not tried it I don't you know until until you get it into your hands you don't know how it is and we're going to try it with um some of these molds I'm trying to decide I think I want to do this one yeah I think I want to do this one right right here with a little heart pin it I think that would be cute and I'm going to do it with the um resin pigments I went to three other Dollar Trees after that after I went to the one that I found these at and none of them had blue so we're stuck with red yellow and pink I guess so anyway this doesn't come with a lot this is one fluid ounce and this was A1 25 I'm going to go ahead and tell you right now that is not a good deal this resin is expensive and that may seem like a lot for $125 but at the end of this video if I remember I'm going to do a breakdown of how much the resin that I use costs per ounce so that way you can see hopefully I'm correct that $125 is not a good deal especially when in all actuality it's $2.50 for 2 oz so I don't know maybe I'll be surprised maybe I'll do the math and be like oh my God actually this is you know a better deal but I also know for a fact that the resin the total boat resin that I use um I have not had any problems with it yellowing um and I just like the way that it that it works and yeah I like my total boat better but you know as a res girly I had to pick this up to try it so anyway it's going to be a super simple and easy one today because starting on October 1st which I should have looked this up before started filming but I'm still I still have the the co brain starting on Sunday um we'll be starting hopefully the 31 days of resin we so wish me luck with that this was a very long intro that it did not need to be this long but yes let's go ahead and let's get [Music] [Laughter] [Music] started [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's bonus un molding time yeah bonus unmolding um um as you can see I had quite a lot of resin left and I had these um molds that I'm going to be using for the 31 days series sitting next to me so I was like let's just pop them in here and see what they look like okay I will say this about this resin you guys it's practically completely bubble free you can [Music] see like some tiny little like itty bitty bubbles there but to be honest with you that's that's really great actually um so the glitter did sink completely down which you know happens when you're using resin when you're using glitter and resin that hasn't thickened up um yeah these look I mean they look really cool the molds themselves the bottles I mean but yeah this resin is actually quite nice I didn't do anything different with this resin than I do with um my total boat resin it is still a little soft after 24 hours like a lot soft but um the packaging did say to wait 24 hours um for it to be hard and then 72 hours for it to be um fully cured so they turned out really cute other than you know obviously the fact that the glitter ssy directly to the um bottom of the mold which I was expecting so it's not like a huge shock or anything but yeah that's today's bonus un molding so far so good guys all right um let's talk good things real quick uh obviously you just saw the bonus and molding I have not found a single bubble so far in the bonus and moldings which which is amazing um as I said in the bonus un molding I didn't do anything special to it uh I didn't even warm it up this I just used it straight out of the box I did not even warm this up like I do my total boat um and it mixed really really well so uh the other thing is is that I noticed that these pigments I think they're actual thick pigments instead of alcohol ink which makes sense since it's called pigment ink but I expected them to be a little bit thinner um than they were but I wanted to try the petri dish pour with it um obviously they don't sell a white so I did have to use my um Pata white for these um actually let's do these ones first cuz these are just the regulars so this is terribly similar to the um the bonus and moldings where the glitter went straight down again I poured this you know with the knowledge of it's not thick so the glitter is going to fall straight to the bottom um but it still turned out really cute I do like this mold by the way this is just with um a couple of drops of the Rose mixed into the resin um you can tell I didn't mix it all that well what is that oh there was something in the mold I think that got embedded in but again this is a great uh view very few bubbles like those are teeny tiny micro bubbles it may be a little bit of a mean blush on it I don't know I can't tell um and then I just did like a half and half half clear but again you guys look at these Corners Nery a bubble in these corners and I did not do my bubble like thing that I typically do with you know like scraping the bubbles out there's one teeny tiny bubble right here at the top hopefully you guys are seeing that I don't know um yeah I don't know really really cool there we go now you can kind of see it right up there but yeah um and like I said in the bonus un molding it is still quite soft but again the packaging says 72 hours for the full cure okay let's take a look at these so this one I just had the red in okay it kind of did it um it's not great but it kind of it kind of worked the Petri and you can see very very tiny little bubbles in there but for like a cheap Dollar Tree um resin yeah this one did it as well but again not as strong as it would if I were using alcohol ink I think one of the reasons for that is I only did one layer of the pigment because as soon as I started putting it putting it into the heart I realized that it was actually thicker than alcohol ink so um I don't know maybe if I had added more of the pigment to it it would have worked but I did use two layers of the um of the white alcohol ink in it this back still feels a little not sticky perhaps but like uncured like if I were to stick my fingernail into it hard it would but again I'm I'm actually quite impressed so um give me a second I'm going to do a little bit of math here um I probably should have done that before I started filming but again my brain is not functioning at full capacity well I mean is it ever functioning at full capacity no um it's functioning at even less of a capacity now than it typically does so let me do some quick math I'll be right back all right so thanks to my handy dandy calculator because I can't math for anything I did the math and actually the Dollar Tree resin is a good deal however comma um so the total boat that I use for a 1gallon kit is about $67 um which breaks down to .91 per ounce that equals $3.82 per every 2 oz and obviously the Dollar Tree kit was 250 for 2 oz so that is a deal however good luck finding this resin in much larger quantities um because if you're a resin maker um as most of my viewers are you know that when you buy resin you want to buy it in bulk and yeah I don't know where you're going to find that res and bulk also um I just I love the total boat resin there's probably other brands of resin out there that are cheaper than total boat that you guys use um I haven't done the math on any of those versus this kit so maybe this kit isn't a good deal in whatever resin brand that you use you'll have to do that math on your own because I am not a math professor and um I don't I I I think a college would actually ban me from ever entering claiming to be a professor of math but anyway yeah it's a good deal if you're doing small tiny projects and you're in a pinch and you have a dollar tree down the road you know go check it out or whatever but for me I'm going to stick with what I know and what I love but I will say props to this brand whoever it is um I wonder if they it doesn't really say on it like what the actual brand is cuz clearly the Dollar Tree did not come up with its own resin brand right um props to them because this is almost completely bubble free um it's very clear like very very clear you can clearly see through it the cat scrappiness logo so um yeah I think they have a good product here I just wish that you could buy it in bulk um so yeah that that's today's video again apologies that I was not here last Thursday I actually ended up getting sick um last Wednesday and it or Tuesday and it hit me really really hard and Thursday is when I got my test that showed it was positive so anyway um if you enjoyed this video please let me
