hey guys welcome to Rion's TV I am Rion " Seeeno Gaooooo" today finally i will cut my hair oh by the way this is my  brother and this is my nephew "Shi-Kun" He's so shy my brother runs beauty salon in japan and he is  a hairdresser so i asked him to cut my hair today   japanese beauty salon is a bit  different compared to other countries   so hope i can introduce the difference  through this video by the way this is my   brother's store it looks small but this is  the avalanche size of beauty salon in japan   many people don't know but number of hair salon is  four times more compared to convenience store   due to the pandemic nowadays beauty salon is  asking customers to use "Haru mask" masks it can   stick to face the line will not cover the ear  so that hairdresser can cut the hair easily   hey Shi-kun can you say some word three times is it hard to talk or hard to breathe   wow nice this is the first thing usually  he needs to do when he arrived the store   they often hang the towel in the store so fold the  laundry and put away there are two kinds of towels   brown one is for regular use and  the black one is for dyeing hair   after fold the towels put them into the shell in  the back it can take it from front it's really   useful when the store gets busy oh and let  me tell you the important manner in japan not   so many people straight tells you but for the  gentleman when you use the bathroom in your   friend's house you need to sit down all the time  so that the restroom is not gonna be dirty yes   this store as well i know it sounds  interesting but many people actually care   so be careful alright seems like my  brother is ready so let's cut my hair so when you arrive to japanese  hair salon first you need to get   shampoo let's shampoo this is  the place oh it looks fancy look at this chair it looks  like an airplane first class   i've never ride it on though speaking  of shampoo some stores charge additional   fee for shampoo especially expensive hair salon  so you'd better check it before ask shampoo it   usually costs around 1,000 japanese yen however  you can touch your hair without shampoo too   in that case they will just make your hair  wet so you don't have to worry about it oh by the way this is a steam maker  this store's menu has head to spa too   this machine can provide warm  mist and relaxing atmosphere   their way of shampoo is really detailed  and taking time it's more like massage   and now it's time for a hair conditioner that was good so this is how i decided the next hairstyle but if   you have some ideal hairstyle i strongly  recommend to bring the picture though   by the way since only family here we  don't wear mask today but usually we   all the time wear mask if we don't wear masks  in public we cannot enter most of the places   hey brother the pandemic gives you  negative impact for your business "Coming of Age Ceremony" Seijinshiki is one of the busiest day for japanese beauty salon many ladies wear kimono on that day so they ask hair dresser to set up their hair what's the weirdest hairstyle the customer asked for what's the avalanche time to  spend in beauty salon for cutting hair   have you had the customer who doesn't speak  japanese and how did you communicate with them so as long as they brought the  photo you think should be fine so if you will visit japanese hair salon but you  don't speak japanese make sure bring photo and   remember two words nagaku and mijikaku from here  let me explain about the beauty salon in japan   if you want to be a hairdresser you need to pass a  national exam "Kakka shiken" majority of them go to hairdresser's   special school for two years and after graduate  they take Kokkashiken average school tuition for two   years cost 2 million to 2.7 million japanese  yen actually they have night class option too.   tuition is usually 1 million japanese yen cheaper  but still many people take daytime school because   they can enjoy the school life this is the scissors  holder he used there are so many kinds of scissors   he told me all of them cost more than 100 000  japanese yen it makes me surprised however   most of professional hairdressers are using  expensive scissors so it's the average price   so do they make good money the answer is yes and  no usually first year salary for hairdresser is 130 000   japanese yen to 17 000 japanese yen for a month  it sounds not bad however it is included very very   long over our work so hourly pay is very low in  japanese standard because of that the first year   60 percent of them quit and in 5 years 85 percent  of them quit however once you own your store you   can work freely and you can make money depends  on your skill luckily he could survive as a   hairdresser and now he has his shop so that he can  feed his family now hey have you got a tip before it makes sense in asian culture yes  different culture different rules now haircut is done i will get a perm my hair   but today since we don't have time  she will set up with hair straightener my hair was pretty long so feels good hey Shi-Kun how do you like my hair Yes sounds like success! Came back to my brother's house look at this this is his hobby  and he's "Arare" you guys remember   oh he became much bigger if you don't know  him please check my old video and also this   is the place that he can do the hair for his wife  that's super bright it can change the color too   after the haircut my sister-in-law cooked for me  teriyaki chiken and we enjoyed the dinner with beer   by the way i still have another brother who  works in tokyo totally different type compared   to this brother also three other nieces too  if it's possible maybe i will introduce them   in the future video that's him and that's his  wife if it's possible i will try to ask them   for the house tour but i'm not sure if i can  make it or not but anyway today i got a really   nice haircut oh speaking of my channel there  are over 300 videos about japan and food   so if you are thinking of traveling to japan  please don't forget to subscribe to my channel and   please don't forget to check my other videos also  if you want to see more about japan i'm a travel   photographer so please don't forget to check my  instagram account too alright so this video pretty   Thank you so much for watching my video! So See you in the next video! Arigatooo! Bye-bye
