Expensive Onigiri Rice Ball from "Depachika", Is It Really Better Than Convini Onigiri ? #284

Rion's tv i'm in front of tokyo station what a beautiful  day it's a perfect day for the picnic speaking   of the picnic onigiri rice bowl is one of  the most popular lunch for japanese and it   is really popular daily food as well if you go to  the japanese convenience store you will see a lot   of kinds of onigiri rice bowl it can be really  cheap but it can be really expensive as well   well if you place something expensive inside the  rice bowl probably it is understandable however   even with the same onion rice bowl sometimes it's  totally different price i was born and raised in   japan i grew up with onigiri rice bowl what i  usually eat is the homemade one or convenience   story and i've never tried a fancy expensive  onigiri yet also i'm wondering if the expensive   onigiri tastes a bit different so today i will go  to depachika which is the underground of department   and try to find expensive onigiri and try to  find a difference if it's good or not so let's go   now we are at west part of tokyo  station and the department store   is east part of tokyo station so  let's go to the department store   to tokyo station this is the easiest way  to go to the east part of tokyo station inside the tokyo station there  are many lockers for travelers   for example this one has two kinds the  cheap one is 500 japanese yen the big one   is 700 japanese yen and 700 japanese yen this  is how big it is seems like it's pretty big   even you have check-in luggage you can place it in  so don't worry about it if you have a big luggage okay department store is almost  there so let's keep walking this is daimaru department store most of  japanese department stores have food section   in underground level there are many kinds of  foods there but most of them are really expensive   to be honest it's too expensive for me but   sometimes i come over here and buy the  food and dessert for some special occasion yes this is the Onigiri story what i was looking for  oh look at this number one onigiri bento looks   really simple but the price is 700 japanese  yen yes we can get the two yoshinobe balls   okay it sounds expensive but let's try that so i  got the only rice ball next let's get the drink   look at that and that's kimetsu no yaiba's  t-shirts what kind of things they have let me   see well looks pretty cool but the price was 5000  japanese yen maybe next time oh yeah here we go   actually there was an expensive one in the middle  however it's already gone so here we have Tsugaru   toki and the fuji there were used to be more but  it seems like those three for now oh by the way   next to this apple juice springing machines there  are regular vending machines maybe i should get   the green tea because we are going to eat the  onigiri rice balls so let me get that green tea   here if you register the train ic card on  the apple watch you can buy it with that card all right here we go so let's get the  onigiri rice phone so let's keep walking   this is the entrance of tokyo station many people  don't know but you can stay in tokyo station hope   one day i can stay there and make a video about  it okay i think we can sit down here because this   place no one here oh my goodness my hair is  too long so let me read the foodies okay so   this is what i got first one is IEMON which is a green  tea and first onigiri rice bowl it's Shake  taste okay so now let me give you guys a small  japanese lesson salmon in japanese is sake sake it's same   pronunciation as alcohol sake i think the correct  pronunciation is sake but many japanese call Shake so you can say sake onigiri or Shake Onigiri yes this is the expensive one the  price of 700 japanese yen it does look   fancy but let me see if it worth 700  japanese yen or not so let's open this i love green tea so actually i bought two, the  one is salmon onigiri rice bowl and this one   is bento box so let me try this salmon onigiri  first so speaking of the price this one was 270   japanese yen yes compared to the regular onigiri rice  ball this is like three times more so it should be   better i'm not sure let's eat it actually this is  my very first time to try this kind of onigiri so   i didn't know that but there is a fancy cushion  inside so that onigiri not gonna be break it's cool so this is the first onigiri we will try  actually that's salmon Onigiri rice bowl but it's..... so this is the first one we will try it's  a salmon onigiri even it's a salmon onigiri  expensive but the size is really small  yeah i believe this kind of fancy onigiri rice   ball is made for older people smaller onigiri  they can try different kinds of onigiri too huh so let's try it so this is what  it looks like let's eat itadakimasu the salmon is more salty the rice is much stickier  than the convenience stores only realized bowl   interesting speaking of the rice it's much  softer compared to the onigiri rice bowl   in convenience stores and kind of sweet  probably i'm looking at this onigiri with   the price filter it's maybe because of  that i feel it's better i don't know and   here we go we have small salmon inside too  there was a salmon on top of it but inside   maybe convenience stores only had  more but it's pretty good though yes so this is the onigiri bento it's a paper but this one was  supposed to be i think bamboo   and here we go oh actually it looks pretty  good there is a huge tamagoyaki which is   the egg 2 onigiri rice ball plus plum, and  edamame so let me start with this edamame well actually this one tastes like a  Ume, it's because Ume was right next to   it the color becomes red too you know it's  a rice ball so maybe i should use my hand   but for the safety reason and also they gave me  the chopsticks so let me use the chopsticks to eat   let me try this onigiri rice ball by the way  this is a plain onigiri rice ball so there is   nothing but only the sesame  seeds on top so itadakimasu   actually it was much harder than compared to  the onigiri rice ball that i ate also compared   to the convenience store's rice ball usually this  kind of onigiri rice bowl has the salt inside but   i don't feel much salt inside  so how about the egg here   this is really popular omelette style  egg in japanese we call this tamagoyaki it is really soft and the  Dashi flavor of tamagoyaki is   so good perfect matches with  this Onigiri rice ball i think   it's because of the bento box the onigiri rice  ball is too hard they should make it softer let's eat tamagoyaki with rice i really like this Tamagoyaki, speaking of tamagoyaki  there are two different kind of tamagoyaki   usually in Kansai tamagoyaki tastes more like dashi  but in the kanto style tamagoyaki sweet yeah this   rice bowl is too hard let me be honest with you  guys if you are thinking of ordering the onigiri   rice ball don't order this one the bento box one  the sepalate one is tastes much better so i really   recommend to buy the separate onigiri rice bowl  they are selling this tamagoyaki separately too   so you should buy separate onigiri rice ball and  you can order this tamagoyaki separately i think   it's better i hate to say that but this  onigiri rice ball maybe it doesn't worth it i know whenever i eat the food i  usually say mecchaoishi you guys   think i would say Meccha Oishi to every  food but it is wrong i only say that word   whenever i feel Meccha Oishi so this time for this  onigiri i don't say that but this tamagoyaki And I totally forgot, it's plum, Ume, Ume Sour pickled plum oh my goodness yeah this one was  supposed to eat with this white rice   if you eat the ume separately probably  you will make that kind of face   here also let me give you guys a small japanese  lesson sour in japanese is Suppai Suppai so if   you eat something sour you can just say "Suppai" oh  my goodness you know every spring season i have an   allergy well if you check my instagram or twitter  you know that i've seen a doctor because of the   hay fever, i've been taking the allergy pill but  still running nose and sneeze when i was studying   the united states i didn't have the hay fever  so that's a kind of tough thing to live in japan   if you have a hay fever you will need to see a  doctor by the way seeing the doctor cost about   1 000 japanese yen with insurance and then for  the medical pills cost about 1 000 japanese   yen fou a months so all together 2000 japanese yen for  a month oh by the way this kind of information   if you want to know more please check my twitter  recently i've been
