Installing Kali Linux 2024.1 on VirtualBox

hello guys and welcome in this video I'm going to be showing you how to download C Linux on Virtual box so what we need to do is just Google Cali Linux and then we'll just go on to their site and now if we go to get Cali and select installer images we can just download this installer here so depending on your internet speeds it might take a while to download okay so once downloaded you open Virtual box and then if you go to machine and then new what we want to do is just type in the name that we want to give this virtual machine so I'm just going to call it C Linux 20 24.1 so next we've got the folder location to where we want to store this virtual machine so I have a dedicated storage drive for virtual box machines so I'm just going to leave that to the default setting here okay and then for ISO image we just want to go to where we downloaded that ISO file and then if we go next we just need to allocate the virtual machine some resource so I'm just going to bump this to 12 GB of memory and then here we allocate the processors that we want to give it so I'm just going to bump that up to four CPUs and then here we've got the dis size or the dis storage that we want to allocate to the virtual machine so I'm just going to bump that up to 30 GB and then select next and then I'm just going to hit finish okay so once we've configured the hardware resource just go to make sure it's selected and we just go to start and then what we want to do is uh just click into this instance here and then select graphical install by pressing the enter key so here you select your language I'm going to select English and then I'm just going to select my location and then select the keyboard layout that you want to use okay so now what you need to do is select a host name for your virtual machine so I'm just going to leave it as default as Cali and we will not be Connect into a domain for this and then what I what I'm going to do here is just select a username so I'm just going to put user and then we'll just leave that as the default account name for that user and then here what we want to do is just enter a password for that user okay so here we are selecting the uh partition method that we're going to use we're just going to leave it as the default setting which is use entire disk and then we're selecting the drive that we want to use so we'll just hit continue and then we're just going to go with this recommended option here and then we'll just uh hit continue for finish partitioning and write changes to disk and then here we're just confirming that we actually want to make these changes okay so for this part I'm just going to leave the default selected and then hit continue so once it's run through installing all of the software it will just ask you if you want to it will ask you if you want to install the boot loader just select yes and then continue select the drive that you want to install the boot loader to so once the installation has finished all we have to do is just hit continue which will go to reboot the system and then once rebooted we can just log in and then just log in with your username and password that you set earlier and that is how to install K Linux on Virtual box so just to get full screen all you do is just go to the view icon here full screen mode and that should work
