Insta360 Adds 5 New Features To Insta360 App And It's Faster Than Ever Before

the insta 360 app has been updated to have faster performance and there are also five new features you need to know about which will work across any insta 360 camera so let me share with you what they are the first update is the jump cut jump car is a new way to trim your footage let's use this footage of a lion coming towards the one x 2 as an example it's quite a long shot so i want to create a jump cut from when the line is far away to when the line is nearer and then finally when the line is close to the camera i'll scroll back on the timeline to when the line is far away tap trim jump cut and then the scissors icon to start my shot here scroll forward just 1.5 seconds and tap the scissor icon now i have a 1.5 second shot of the lion far away then i will scroll forward when the line is nearer tap the scissors icon scroll forward 1.5 seconds tap the scissor icon again now i have a 1.5 second shot of the line nearer and finally i will scroll forward when the line is close to the camera tap the scissor icon scroll forward 1.5 seconds tap the scissor icon again now i have a 1.5 second shot of the line close to the camera tap the tick to confirm now i'll reframe the start of the shot so the lines in the middle and add a keyframe change the field of view to linear to zoom in and get rid of the fisheye distortion scroll to the middle of the shot reframe the shot so the line is in the middle add a keyframe then scroll to the end of the shot reframe the shot so the line is in the middle again and add a keyframe when i play it back you now have something which looks like this the second update is the new export settings screen in this example i'm going to change the aspect ratio of this shot to 16 by nine and when you're finished editing tap export you can either export a reframed 360 video which is a flat video or you can export a 360 video which is an immersive 360 video for vr headsets generally auto settings is good enough for posting on social media but if you want to change the auto settings then tap custom on my screen there is only one resolution and one frame rate available but depending on your phone the camera you're using and the settings you shot with you may have higher resolutions available and you can select them here if your video looks pixelated or blurry on social media then you can try crank up the bitrate to 50 or 75 and see if it makes any difference but if you see no difference then unfortunately there's nothing you can do about facebook and instagram compressing your video for me 25 is generally good enough for a 1920 by 1080 full hd video if you have noise in your video then turn on remove grain to remove it once you're done with your settings tap export and your video will export to your phone album the third update is simply knowing which footage you tapped in the album tab so let's say i open this footage if you drag your finger from left to right across the screen then it will close the shot and you can tell which shot you opened the fourth update is a new remote shooting screen scroll left and right to see all the shooting modes or to pick a shooting mode more easily tap the arrow and choose a mode it tells you the amount of available storage and battery you have left the three colored dots is where you set the color profile 5.7 k 25 is where you set your resolution and frame rate the three vertical dots will give you more options like histogram gps and disconnect the camera you can switch from 360 mode to pano mode and single lens 150 mode the paper plane icon is for creating fpv like shots m is for manual exposure mode but you can change it to auto shutter priority and isolated mode as well in manual mode you can change the iso shutter speed and white balance by swiping the slider left and right or you can simply tap on the setting of your choice the fifth update is the ability to add multiple music tracks to your timeline here's a story i put together with a couple of shots i will tap the music icon to add a soundtrack choose a soundtrack i like tap the tick to confirm and now the music has been applied to the entire timeline but let's say i want to change the music after two shots i can split the music here and delete the other half tap the music icon to choose my second soundtrack choose a soundtrack i like tap the tick to confirm i'm going to edit the soundtrack to start when the beat drops so i'll tap the second soundtrack and drag the left marker until i see the beat drop to connect the music together i will hold down the second soundtrack and swipe it across to join the first soundtrack then drag the right marker to the end of the timeline and then you can export your video as normal that's it now you know all the updates about the insta360 app and i'll see you in the next video

How do you tell if you have the newest version of the app? Im new to iOS (12 Pro). I see that i can do jump cuts, but my export looks different from yours. I dont see the ability to use advanced export settings.

Look at the settings and the about screen. Your app should be version 1.60

And as I noted, still no landscape viewing mode for this app, something that would actually be useful.

Did they fix the no music play when you speed the video even after you add the music after speeding the video?
