to get the best video quality out of the one x 2 i always film in 5.7 k resolution when you reframe a 5.7 k 360 video into a 16 by 9 a one by one or a nine by 16 video then the final output will be around 1080p because you're only using a section of the 5.7 k 360 video now if you film in 4k or 3k resolution then the final output will be even less than 1080p the best frame rate depends on whether your country uses the ntsc system or the power system normally ntsc is used in the usa and the power system is used in the rest of the world ntsc uses a multiple of 30 frames per second and the power system uses a multiple of 25 frames per second if you use the wrong frame rate then you might see light flickering in your video another way to stop light flickering is to go to settings general anti-flicker and select 50 hertz if you're in the power region and 60 hertz if you're in an ntsc region the third and final way to stop light flickering is to set the correct shutter speed using manual exposure settings if you are in a power region then your shutter speed should be a multiple of 25 like 1 150th 1 100th and 1 200th of a second if you are in a ntsc region then your shutter speed should be a multiple of 30 like 116 df one 120th and 1 240th of a second for better video quality i prefer to set the video encoding to h.265 instead of h.264 so to do this go to settings video encoding 360 mode and select h265 i always use the vivid color profile for punchy social media colors i recommend you never use log mode because it's very difficult to color grade you really need 10 bit video to get the most out of log if you try and color grade 8-bit log video then it just breaks apart really easily it's okay to leave your white balance on auto because the one x 2 does a really good job of picking the right setting if you find that the white balance is changing throughout your shot then you can set it manually just cycle through each white balance setting and pick the one that looks the most natural generally on a bright sunny day i set the white balance to 5000k and on a cloudy day i set the white balance to 6500k if your 1x2 video is blurry then it's because your shutter speed is set too low using auto exposure settings so to avoid this you must use manual exposure settings to set the iso and shutter speed yourself lucky for you i made an easy to follow flow chart which shows you the exact steps you need to take to set the correct iso and shutter speed it works for daytime and night time so let's go through it on the 1x2 set the iso to 100 we always start with iso 100 because the lower the iso the less the amount of noise in your video does the video have motion if your one x2 is completely still on a monopod then there is no motion if you are doing a slow paced activity like walk-in or casual bike riding then this is moderate motion if you are doing fast-paced action like mountain biking or skiing then this is extreme motion so follow the arrow which matches the type of activity which you are doing in this example i want to walk with the one x 2 so i will follow the moderate arrow it says to set the shutter speed to 4 times the frames per second so 4 x 25 is 100 so i will set the shutter speed to 1 100th of a second the base setting is basically the minimum shutter speed required to avoid blurry video is the video too bright yes it is so i'll increase the shutter speed by one step and i'm basically going to increase the shutter speed until the video is not too bright anymore and make sure it's a multiple of 25 one 500 looks great so i'll leave it here the video is not too bright anymore so i'll move on to the next question in the flow chart is the video too dark no it isn't now the video has the perfect exposure and you can now press record with the iso and shutter speed set manually using the flowchart you will never get blurry video again if you want to download your copy of the manual exposure flow chart and see more examples of how i use it then click the link in the video description if the one x2 is your first 360 camera then be careful not to scratch the lenses because a repair bill can cost 100 dollars per lens and a lot of waiting time so to avoid your lenses getting scratched accidentally use the pouch you got in the insta 360 box to cover your lenses whenever you're not using the 1x2 for safe keeping i personally prefer using the official 1x2 lens cap because it's very convenient to pop on and off i can store this in my travel bag or my trousers pocket and i know the lenses are well protected i can also charge the one x two with the lens cap on which is great the lens cap should be in every one x2 box but unfortunately it's not the lens cap is an additional accessory which is five dollars from the insta 360 store if you are scared about damaging one of your lenses then i highly recommend the premium lens guard and not the sticky lens guard because i think it offers the best protection for your 1x2 lenses yes it will degrade your video quality a little bit but it's just definitely worth saving your lenses from getting damaged the biggest beginner mistake is using a light camera stand outdoors your one x two will get blown over by the wind or in october and this will cost you a hundred dollar repair bill per lens or buy a new 360 camera altogether so this is why i made the best 360 monopod it's a portable stand designed especially for 360 cameras the long legs and 500 gram counterweight will reduce the chance of your 360 camera getting blown over by the wind the max height is 164 centimeters and the selfie stick counterweight and tripod legs are separate pieces so you can use the selfie stick on its own and it is invisible the best 360 monopod is perfect for virtual tours travel vlogging and filmmaking and if you buy your best 360 monopod you are directly supporting me support you with more useful videos on this channel so if you want to learn more about the best 360 monopod click the link in the video description and you can also buy the best 360 monopod from amazon uk usa and amazon australia canada germany and more countries are to follow soon i often get asked what are the best export settings in the insta360 app for instagram and facebook because it always looks blurry or pixelated when it's uploaded onto social media unfortunately this will be the case when you upload a fast paced video the video will look slightly better if it's a slow pace video because the pixels are not changing as much when you export a 9x16 video in the insta 360 app the key is to experiment with the bitrate settings in theory setting a higher bit rate will make your video look better so first try export your video at 25 megabits per second upload it onto instagram and see if it looks blurry if it's still blurry then export your video at 50 megabits per second and so on and hopefully by increasing the bit rate your video will look better on instagram reels i do highly recommend that you turn on remove grain for any video shot in the day or night because it will make your video look more cleaner it's very important you understand how insta360 files work when you connect the one x2 to your computer go to dcim camera01 and your files will be here when you record a 3k or 4k video there is one ins v file per 360 video ins v is just insta 360's version of an mp4 video but when you record a 5.7 k video there are two ins v files per 360 video one is for the front lens and one is for the back lens the file names look the same but each 5.7 k short you record will have a 0 0 file and a 1 0 file lrv files are proxy files and metadata for your insta360 videos it's best not to delete the lrv files because they will ensure you have a smooth editing experience in the insta 360 app and insta360 studio when you take a jpeg photo they are saved as an insp file insp is just insta360s version of a jpeg file when you take a raw photo they are saved as a dng file when you take a raw pure shot night shot or hdr photo with the one x2 using raw plus jpeg do not delete the insp files even if you only want to use the raw files the insp files contain metadata for the raw files so insta360 studio can process the raw files correctly in this example i will click and drag these hdr raw photos into insta360 studio with the jpeg files in the same folder and it will import correctly as a single hdr photo if i delete the jpeg files and drag the hdr raw photos into insta 360 studio then the raw photos import individually which is incorrect never rename the ins fee insp or dng files insta360 studio reads the file names to process the files correctly if you rename the files then you might corrupt your footage to see a thumbnail of your insta 360 videos and photos just like this you need to download and install insta360 studio i will leave a link in the video description shot lab in the insta 360 app can help you make cool shots really quickly to find shot lab go to stories shot lab find the template you wish to recreate in this case i will pick role planet then follow the tutorial to capture the shot for this theme once you have the shot tap use this theme tap the shot tap the tick to confirm and now the ai will automatically edit the shot for you just wait for it to complete and you now have a role planet shot without adding any key frames or editing yourself then you can tap export in the top right hand corner direct export check remove grain and export the shot and you can now add it into your youtube video that's it for this video hit the like button if you learned something new consider subscribing if you want to learn more and i'll see you in the next video
