Inside the Japanese Hotel Staffed by Robots

hello yeah I was a little hat laughs I've started when I was a kid growing up in the 90s I had an unhealthy obsession with watching sci-fi films as a result I would often daydream about how amazing life would be in the future driving around in our flying cars and interacting via lifelike Holograms and of course holding conversations with our best friends who would inevitably be intelligent robot talking teddy bears well we're now just under three years away from the year 2020 and the future isn't quite like I'd imagined it instead of futuristic Holograms we've got quantum LED truecolor 4k televisions with curved displays an immaculate crisp picture quality in other words just a television that you can't possibly hope to afford instead of flying cars we've got not flying cars and instead of robotic talking teddy bears that are our best friends we've got Siri which is like having a conversation with your least-favorite schoolteacher Siri why don't I have any friends I think it's something to do with cookies anyway I am your friend always in forever oh yay still that there is some hope a ray of light at the end of a disappointing tunnel last month a new robot hotel I couldn't ochio called the Henne hotel which literally translates as the strange hotel it's supposed to be fully automated and it sounds like the future but given that I'm a youtuber person living in Japan is my job to go and check such things out so let's go and see if the futures arrived let's go and see if the Henne hotel is actually any good theory are you ready for an adventure billions of dollars so much personality [Music] you the hotel lobby feels very much in line but numerous automated robots working away it looks more like a scene out of Universal Studios that a conventional hotel room oh my god Oh after that terrifying spill I trust being in Jurassic Park expecting a robotic Jeff Goldblum so I come out the cupboard in a minute yeah so this is really creepy and they might stop moving all right so it's the check-in desk instead of people there's not there's lots of rapid knocking free so it's not about if accounts for the people fees here's recharge apparel to select your language where volume or it's a multilingual dialects of elevator Japanese English Chinese no problem we're going to check the local car very interesting the robot actually gestured gestures water with it okay you've got a rim cars without humans no human involvement just a robot dinosaur Velociraptor until you need who needs humans anyway so these little dinosaurs apparently so the kids get bit scared when they come through those doors and see a giant 20-foot t-rex as you work so they've got these little dinosaurs they're kind of flashy and stupid so kind of make a kid still it yeah dinosaur the sniper is also a terrifying looking robotic recycling bin but automated vacuum cleaner leavin of window cleaning robot the my favorite thing of the lobby had to be the fish which I'd assumed were actually real when I first saw them out the corner of my eye it reminds me of horizon zero dawn at the U game and all the animals robots and they act eerily like real fish I really want one I don't know why I just do the henna hotel has to Ames apparently the first is to be fun and the second is to have as few staff as possible less staff means lower costs or there are 14,000 yen per night the hotel is still slightly above the average cost of a hotel in the local area that said the rooms themselves had a few special features to give them the edge including the one thing that we all really want in our hotel room that's right a robot talking a well this is called copier and it's a robot egg concierge that's in every single room in the hotel [Music] [Applause] such idealistic means that happy music we're having time this is the list all the stuff you can do with it it can like turn on the light switch on the TV you can power usually I'm good switch on the TV there's no magic so these stuff like that which is quite cool because talking is a lot easier than pressing buttons it can also do other stuff so you can get your fortune which I'm certainly interested in April 21st I heard that you're taken from you a new verse yes is correct and now we're going to get my fortune from a robot egg sorry relationships involve hard work but you're willing to lead into the task at hand in order to achieve positive results apparently I'm going to do well at work my love life not so well and money not so well either so yeah it's a reason I don't read horoscopes well so we got this rather strange looking thing is a WoW apparently it's like the Wardrobe from the future because you've put your clothes in and it kind of cleans them using some sort of air purification process that I can't possibly comprehend but it looks great it looks really great this looks like something out of ghost in the shell so I caught on and the beds supposed to be specially the mattress is completely unique to the hotel is called blessed blessed air and apparently distributes your weight evenly over the bed so it's supposed to be hard but be comfortable yes good my weight has been distributed over the bed eighty-three kilograms evenly distributed I should have told you that the hotel plans to expand overseas in the coming years and the concepts early does have some potential although I suspect many customers would miss the human touch there's no doubt that some sorry men might be a fit a lien ated walking into a hotel to be greeted by robot dinosaurs especially when
