Staying at a Traditional Japanese Inn & Hot Spring | Ryokan

now how many expressions like football faces I make all things I've seen some reasons growing good bevels so in Japan there are five types of famous beef and today we're off to go and see one of them and that is Yan is our beef the city of Yonezawa is in South Yamagata which is the place I've been living the last three years but somehow I've never actually eaten a steak from there so this is it just what I've been waiting for for three years I'm joined today by the author oh well he's Japanese I'm definitely that he thinks he's British oh I on what I think that's exactly what we sell in the UK I look apartment incredible impressions of a British person aside so what we're doing today so eating the beef tomorrow so today we're going to a real car no clap of traditional Japanese in that's right why this your combo why don't we choose this one okay um yeah why would I saw it on a website I saw this really great outside bath with a waterfall I like an onsen that's right that's right and with us no I think you so it looks looked very nice so we've got an onsen the hot spring or your car traditional Japanese in and Janos our big thief this is gonna be a good trip yeah this is a real yeah I know went downhill after the 90 years crash before checking in we first decided to explore the local town famous for its hot springs after the ryokan gave us both some stylish silver cows truly the fun never ends look in gay boys this this is it's a hot spring actually that's your hospital you can drink hot at 72 degrees quite so fear it is an insult yes I tried so I think I you should as well how much do you drink just a little bit I would well I don't know as much to do war it's good for your circulation blood circulation oh my gosh smell fire all right just just try it just sip wow it's good for health Horrible's is in their place good for your health Oh I thought is a thief now let's just salt water drinking seawater it smelled like rotten eggs I sure what's what's she doing fishing for eggs no actually she's soaking eggs she's soaking the eggs the eggs actually they soak eggs in hot spring form I think they measure something ten minutes yeah so so that gets it on half soft Harper and and you put some soy sauce on the top and you eat it ce2 yeah you too yes we get to be looking to either tomorrow morning actually so here's some eggs that are being boiled now to check in to our rooms before going into the hot spring so the thing I love about real cars is the rooms are just so peaceful and relaxing in many ways you do you feel like you've gone back in time with the exception of the panasonic television and a few other items and I find it a really great place to just disconnect from the outside world and just relax and unwind with a view of the snow coming down outside is it all comes together to create just this really peaceful wonderful atmosphere with the exception of the snow coming off of the roof like that just your color yeah I'm a purple right I think you're a purple going when you come in to yoga room then um you're going to have this you see yukata yukata some people say let's keyboard Oh like you always like it really kind of thick you know colorful the ones that the we're on the desert or something but in your car because you cut guys really thin well okay you've got this big towel you're bad with small towel inside big towel is to wipe your body off after you get into that small towel is the one you take in modesty tell what's true what is it and cover your private party buddy so you can take this into into the bath but one thing you must not do is please do not solve this one into the water so what you do what you do why are you are you doing the back you put your tongue on the head let's see what you look like with the yukata okay all right that's so we're about to go into the onsen let's change into the yukata so whoa so there you go like a Jedi Knight but better only problem with your cutters is it really does make your stomach stick out so if you like me if to stand up straight and give the illusion that your fear let's go what a way to enter an onsen if you have to put your line words into this and at always remember why I told you before big toe inside small towel with you to the room alright that's about it so I have to take it clothes off so over wrinkle okay pretty cool I can't actually show you much tiffin up wearing anything but this is one outdoor on so looks like got a bench there when you need a bit of time out all right pop off awesome waterfall falling snow this is the reason it's just like my favorite thing in Japan so cold that's right now is one a different January it's going and we are still not into the bath all right okay let's go okay gonna position Wow so hey that's why it looks like an onsen and they're so nice we're ready to marry me relax you enjoyed it yo I loved it I just absolutely loved it and we're done without waterfall anything I was so bad waterfalls of snow I know it's perfect after relaxing in the onsen we headed over to our private dining room for an incredible feast which would be hosted by the owner of the Caddy castle real come mr. subtle fantastic that's the leads to you Missoula beef look at the presentation absolutely amazing since what I saw was out and beautiful snowy scene outside had such an amazing dinner this evening to call it dinner wind seemed right it was felt more like an experience but with all the little dish is the amazing beautiful presentation the copious amounts of socket and I think the best thing about eating a real car like that is this or pacing of the meal it's very nicely paced out so you never feel stuffed you know Phil really two full shabu shabu yeah shabu-shabu is a dish where thinly sliced beef is boiled in hot water the term shabu shabu is an onomatopoeia derived from the sound emitted when the beef is stirred through the boiling water before eating it you typically dip it into a vinegar soy sauce and it tastes incredible bit hot mmm good very good very good and you're it be doing you want you very nice oh yeah vinegar I agree best of all we were joined by the owner mr. Sato who's such a really really nice guy maybe I'm saying that because you gave me copious amounts of Sukkot or maybe I'm saying that because he genuinely is a really nice guy camp at be very good combination it's very pretty yeah would you put it with Cesar this way my wife why like white one yeah but it's so nice such great hospitality yeah top-notch the next day mr. Sato generously arranged for us to go for lunch a famous Janos our beef restaurant and even got us access to seeing the beef being prepared behind the scenes no you know it's serious business this and that's all right yeah yeah yeah very nice with a hat yeah yeah the rap hip-hop the rapper DJ beef busy going Japanese beef will wag you as it's known in Japanese is famous for its marbling whereby the beef contains a high amount of fat the uniqueness of a unit of beef is that the other fat actually a combat other beef is very soft mmm that's idea even at the lower temperature it starts melting so we need to keep that the room very arm cool okay oh yeah it melts we don't touch it so smelting oh oh yeah Wow boss it's not ice cream this is a guys for you due to the fast low melting point it means the steak quite literally melts in your mouth and has an incredibly buttery flavor creating one of the richest juiciest steaks in the world as someone who absolutely loves steak I can tell you now once you've tried it regular steak will never ever taste as good again to produce the marbling effects the beef comes from the finest breed of cattle which are then fed an intensive high grain diet whilst regular cattle are slaughtered around 15 months while GU cattle are raised until 36 months and this obsessive and lengthy process of quality control leads to some of the best-tasting and most expensive beef for the planet Chris terrible mother useful Oh chiki chiki mr. Traditional onsen in winter? One of the things that I must do before I die. The atmosphere looks incredible. Must be relaxing.

Been there, done that, ate that beef, tried the onsen and the ryokan. Best experience ever, can recommend. But only do it with some Japanese people for the better experience.
