Insane Piglin Bartering Farm / Gold Farm!! - Hermitcraft Season 7: #37

[Music] welcome to minecraft version 1.16. i have been waiting for this update for so long so that we can do exactly what i want to do today today we are going to just absolutely destroy piglen bartering we are going to show you how incredibly powerful this new mechanic is but before we dive into the nether which i cannot wait to just fly around and experience all the things and do all the stuff uh we got important business to take care of here the mayoral voting booth is open see i was on vacation an actual like real vacation in real life for like four days that's why i've been gone for a little bit and i'm a day late here on the on the voting so uh we gotta get in here and and and vote let's see contestants oh hey scar oh hey scar contestant scar momo stress and false okay one vote each uh and i guess we just put oh a piece of paper in the voting booth [Music] that's right that's right i voted for scar you guys knew i was gonna vote for him all along right i mean come on i had to i mean it's scar right he's gonna do amazing things for this server and more importantly for this uh shopping district here right it's the mycelium's gotta go everything and he thinks like a builder he thinks like someone who wants to improve things and the shopping district needs to be improved so my vote is for scar that reminds me that reminds me i almost forgot beefy tunes beefy tunes i got i got a new thing cdc back in black i gotta i gotta get all the album covers so uh oh oh he he uh did lower the price lower the price price not expensive anymore uh diamonds diamonds give me give me give me five one two three four five okay and oh he's okay yeah yes back in black okay i gotta add this to my collection so i even set up a music room here now it's not really a room but i got all my album covers on the wall i'm gonna buy them all i think we got dark side of the moon we got some gnr and i'm gonna put ac dc on the wall i'm noticing uh beefs doing a theme here with blacks now he's got all the black black down he's got he's eventually he's gotta stray away from the black backgrounds and do more but uh i like it like we're gonna we're gonna hang them in the room here these bees they're gonna go away i don't like bees anymore all right all right we gotta get moving here because we have too much to do today so i'm gonna head into the nether and we are going to build with this we're going to build with this we're going to build with this i think that's like 5 000 blocks of irons we're going to build with we're going to build with all this we're going to build with all these bitties up here and we're going to build like the most amazing piglen bartering farm station world thing ever we're gonna play with hogmans we're gonna do everything uh before i even get into all that i just gotta step my foot into the nether because i also have to get some some warped fungus and some soul torches and i have no idea where to find them so all right this is the nether apparently i was talking to impulse and i think i just hooked up to his portal because i know yeah he already yeah there's the yellow concrete he already busted a roof onto the nether or inside the roof of the nether busted a roof what did i say i don't even know what i wertificated there anyway whole make things easy up there but i want to go see what else is going on i don't even know i won't i kind of want to get a portal to my place what is all this what is all this oh i want to turn off all the new ambient sounds i'm even tempted to dare i turn on the music i haven't turned music on in like five years i might want to hear it there's all these new sound effects and everything which are just amazing to stride zuma's base that must be a new hermit okay all right this looks like a thing over here oh there's already soul lanterns diagonally dude i see what you did there green very good very good uh okay we have a root what is this what is this shiny new rock what did i get basalt i knew that was basalt of course it's basalt what is this is this is this also basalt it's more basalt and i i'm guessing this could look like a kidney candy so there's so many cool new blocks and everything i never even loaded up any of the snapshots or anything okay all right things are crude here things are crude uh let's see if this is that's the sh i'm guessing that's the shopping portal and impulse is over there that means i am going to be like right over here let's let's get a portal set for me no no no no yeah what okay was not expecting that apparently i need to get some gold boots okay oh anyway okay over here oh are you angry at me you're gonna be aggravate me soon aren't you yeah the hoglands they don't like it when i don't have gold on all right here we go let's get let's get the the flint and the fire and the burning and and thank you that took a while that was weird and hopefully this should link up to my base okay excellent we are here let's go back in hi friend excuse me okay so like i said i was talking to impulse and he's got a thing up here and he's already got a project and i think to avoid all the digging that you know everyone's done exploring right around here i want to head out to where he did his business which i think is to the east ish this way let's fly here we go look at the fog and everything is so creepy now okay by the way i put on some gold pantaloons with some fire protection here let's go see this is like day one all over again i'm actually a little nervous because i just don't know what what to expect okay this is the uh oh is that okay so he built i believe he built a oh look at that yeah he built a wither skeleton farm i got i gotta go check this out i think we just how many people are on there's not i think i might be the only one in the nether so this thing's probably doing great right now oh i love the new blue fire okay so this is to do with it the wither skeleton farm is like super easy now right you just got to put some weather roses down in the middle of a fortress and like that's the only thing that can spawn there i think it's crazy easy now but anyway we're here look at the blue flame it's so good i need soul soil for my uh the torches the new blue torches which are so soil all right so diggy d i assume is just you just dig it up right yeah everything's fine yum yum yum yum yum oh those winds and i keep hearing like spirits oh this is so creepy there it is voices does blue flame hurt blue flame hurts okay okay we've acquired our soul soil or whatever it is let's go i just this is amazing i'm so excited i want to go find oh crimson forest crimson forest okay hey guys i got gold what's up how are we doing nope you where where where who's shooting uh you can die oh there's there's a gas back there okay little piggy stores they're amazing okay i have to find warped fungus there is there's some right there are we cool we're cool everybody's cool right yeah uh do i do like looting on this now or something if i do if i hit it with my sword i still get one what who all the hoglands and the piglens they don't like each other they get they get fighting after a while here i wonder what the proper two it's probably a hoe it's probably all right i got to get a lot of this stuff the crimson forest is perfect because that is exactly what i need for the farm today one of the farms we're gonna do today is gotta be inside a crimson forest i need the warped fungi now are the hogma are the hoglands hostile they seem to be hostile there's much hostility yep that's not friendly what's up there piggy wiggies come on why are you angry at me yo hot tourists all the tourist destinations okay uh all right those pigs are those hog ones aren't chasing me let's get up here hopefully this opens up i need more of the warped fungus stuff i don't want lava oh oh look at this oh this is beautiful okay this might be one of my new favorite i don't know but it's tied between this one and the crimson forest they just look so good and gold in the nether now right is that is that what's happening right here in front of my face with the gold and the with the nether gold door that's amazing of course please we're gonna have so much quarks by the end of this episode we don't even know what to do with it ah these background sound effects are so good oh and this i think this has got to be yeah this has got to be the new yeah it's the new nether tree and the thing about this tree that we are going to have some fun with soon is you can actually afk farm this stuff with some bone meal and whatever the fungus is or something i think oh this is going to be great and these new shroom lights these things look at that what a great new light source i mean they're a little bit too much on the texture side but they're fun they're fun no no hogland not liking me one bit oh he's gonna kill me in the face oh fling with extra flea okay they hit hard okay we're back we're back you know i'd be i'd be lying i'd be lying if i didn't say that was terrifying let's go back up here okay for real now for real now we gotta get started i could wander the nether for hours and i probably should maybe we'll do that in a live stream or something but anyways i went back to base got all my bitties here we're all set ready to go ready to do some crazy building here okay and i found a spot that i think is going to work what i've done here is kind of scoped out some of the biome boundary lines so the sand here is a line between crimson forest on this side and you know standard old nether waste on this side and then i just you know scouting area it's all another waste all out there but then the the red wool there is a soul sand valley which i don't want to touch but i think there's plenty of room here what i was really looking for is a you know basically a straight line-ish between a uh crimson forest and a uh high another waste thing over here so big reveal big reveal here's what's gonna happen we're gonna build a crazy crazy nuts piglet trading station today okay step number one of course to trade with the with the piglens you have to have a lot of gold so we are going to build a crazy fast super amazing fun time gold farm right here super simple design yet super effective okay uh and we're gonna take all that gold we're gonna funnel it back up to the afk spot in the sky we're gonna craft it into uh gold bars we're gonna feed it to the piglets we're gonna get all kinds of crazy stuff we're gonna build a second farm over here in the crimson forest i think we're gonna farm some hoglands and get a cooked pork farm everywhere i don't know how much we're gonna get done today i'm hoping it's a lot zuma's waking up that means it's getting late all right first layer of the farm is done and this is just stupid simple it's almost too easy now all right but here we go this is the the first layer of the gold farm it's not done done but it's mostly done this is gonna be the spawning area all around here okay uh in here right on top of that block is gonna be a turtle egg and then i gotta break the block below and stuff and then all the all the the zombie piglens they spawn they're just like hey turtleneck must smash and then whoop they fall to their death down there on the uh little splat platform there splat platform that's always fun to say uh and but the couple things i'm doing differently now you get a lot of we're in another waste okay you get a lot of uh piglets spawning too not a lot but enough where it starts to it starts to mess up the farm right and you got to get rid of them so what i'm doing is i'm adding this platform over here with the carpet so nothing can spawn on that and then i'm going to add like more basically everything i'm doing today is relying on this trapdoor trick or a double trap door like this mobs think they can walk across it but they can't so you know they're sad i cannot stress how much i love the new ambient sound effects their sound designer is amazing now it's one of the things i'm actually really pleased with but anyway all right i got the trap doors and now we got two over there or i should say you know a pair of four over there a pair of four over there and on that side so no matter where they are the the piglens now we're gonna get them to want to run out there and we're gonna do that by placing soul torches all around here okay and i want to do this in like i want to go crazy but i want to get a pattern in here where it really encourages them to to get pushed off the edge so let's do like that we'll do like this and maybe we'll put one here in the middle too okay and and the idea is that they uh the piglens they run away from these soul torches okay so they're gonna be like spawning like right here be like hold on run and they'll stop over here and they'll still see more and they'll be like run and eventually and it doesn't take long at all they're going to want to run out there and when they do they just fall and they just splat on the bedrock down below and luckily the piglens have no drops when not killed by a player so that means we can just drop them down there not worry about any mess or anything they're gonna make so that's pretty much it for layer one so now i wanna add i think five more of these layers stacked on top of each other [Music] all right the farm is basically done now except the most important part which is the turtle eggs i have three of them and that is why we're doing six layers because with a turtle egg you can actually get the pigment to detect it from different different layers now i found that it's basically the level i'm on the egg is on and one above is the best way to do this because they didn't seem to be able to detect an egg above them for some reason maybe it's the way i'm putting my trapdoors on but anyway i have three and i have six spawn pads now before i put the eggs in i do wanna like mention a couple of things about the efficiency of the farm here because there's gonna be people who know you know obviously there's better ways to do this first and foremost i could have made all the spawn platforms out of magma blocks right and then the piglens wouldn't even respond in the first place i chose not to do that because it would have taken me a long time to get all those magma blocks i think and i didn't really want to bother and you know the soul sand thing they get off pretty quick so i think we're fine there uh there's also a lot better ways to make the i better close those gates there's also better ways to get the pigment to drop faster but you need a lot more eggs in the positioning and stuff so anyways this is the farmer i went with there are better but i think this is going to provide me with a ridiculous amount of gold so now for the important part this essentially turns the farm on when i place this egg in here any pigment that spawn will now start uh start spawning and fall into their death i don't want to mess this up i don't want to lose these eggs because getting more is going to be a pain but eh there we go now you can see it's got that little hitbox so i want to break the block below it because that somehow it messes up the pathfinding and they think they can't get to it so i'm going to break that block that floats and you'll notice the the trapdoors are completely enclosing the egg so there's no way for like a baby to get in there or anything so i have to do that for the next two there's like one on layer three and one on layer five okay all the eggs are in but there's so many hermits on right now that the spawn rates are going to be horrendous oh there's one there's no there's some pigment there's some pigment they should go and fall right through fall to your death fall to your death i love it splash splash splat oh this is gonna be so good okay so we're gonna have to wait till later on when there's a lot less hermits on and i've gotta make a better afk spot and everything but i wanna start working on the collection area now this is getting exciting this is getting exciting okay i've got the gas proof in on the top floor a little bit of slabs spaced out evenly so gas can't spawn and then down below we have the beginnings of our collection area here so i split the there's a five by five there the killing area there and i redirected half of those hoppers out to each side because the gold is going to come in faster than a single hopper can keep up so there's like half coming out this side and half coming out that side right there uh and then you can see i have two mirrored uh item storages this is to filter out the uh the zombie flesh and right now just going through this dropper here and spitting it out i'm gonna get like a you know bucket of lava or something like that to poop you went into whatever but then after that it funnels in and coming out of this hopper right here should be just gold nuggets so now i need to make an item elevator to take it all the way back up to our afk spot in the sky okay i know it's dark but the elevator is in the glass elevator up to the afk room up here and this is one of the things i actually i feel like there's a better way of doing this i struggle with this right now is how to get a glass elevator which i'm sure you've all seen you could do like the you know the plus sign of glass to to lift items up which is super cheap it's what i'm doing here however ever since they changed the hit box for hoppers to not be a full block you can't just put a hopper at the top because otherwise it like shoots out to the side and stuff so i i gotta come up with a new way here and i think this works like the items right now will come up this block here they'll spit out onto the ice and then they shoot across there but every so often an item will get stuck on the ice and i think what i'm gonna do is try and push it to the side but i may experiment more i don't know we'll see um but we've got a room here okay and here's the idea now storage for uh gold which is already starting to fill up even though the rates are like horrendous right now of course um i want to put the piglen on this wall here that we're gonna trade with and then on the right wall will be like something like this but sorted per column for all of the piglen bartering items so what i want to do now though is build the room out and i don't want to just build it out of stone and stuff like that we got to build it out of the new nether bra new nether bricks so let's head back down and i think i want to build this room out of uh crimson stems and wood big big big big update oh look at this okay we have a whole room done here and again i'm no interior builder but i tr i tried a little bit we did we went with all crimson blocks here so stripped strip stems here with the gates on the with the back there and everything and the new fungus light thing over there which i love trap doors on the ceiling with a little cross hatch pattern we want more fungus lights up there which i like brought a little couple flower pots in here so pretty much just kept with the piglen's natural biome as the form of decoration now uh in terms of functionality this is going to be all for gold nuggets i'm not sure that this is going to be enough for one afk night like if i have k all night and no one's on the server this will probably fill up this is just like casually being around here right now and it's already like just crazy doing working crazy fast um but here's the deal now okay so i come in here i take the the ingots or the nuggets and i craft them into bars i put the bars in here i gotta dye that and make that white or something and we're gonna have uh we're gonna have some name tagged uh piglins right in there okay just standing there just being all happy and everything probably like eight or ten of them or so and there's a system in the back there that will periodically like every five eight seconds or something like that and i have to tweak that speed to figure out how much i can handle and stuff it's gonna spit out a gold bar there because to trade with uh pig ones you don't even have to right click on them you just have to spit a gold bar in their area and they're gonna they're gonna spit out like this whole set there's like 13 different items that they can spit out there's some really good stuff it's going to go into that hopper there blah goes into the back here and i have a huge sorting system in the back here let me show you what we're looking at in the back here so this is the whole system here now you can see obviously the sorting system over there this is the uh the gold nugget uptake system here and so far i haven't seen a single gold nugget get stuck so i think just this little ice block here is is enough to to make this work uh and i also have now the uh the high those things i should probably put more yeah it's not a big deal it's not gonna really they'll despawn eventually but if i put more slabs those wouldn't spawn uh but anyways the mine car track here is because i need to now get some piglens up to the area up there to name i gotta name tag them and leave them up there so i took out some torches here and we're to go up there and wait for a oh hi i got some extra spawn of layers i've been really good to try and keep everything non-spawnable up there um but we're going to wait for some uh piglets to spawn here we're going to swoop down minecart them and hopefully these torches just make them kind of run right into the minecart and we're going to send them up to the bay oh here we go here we go there's one right there no no no don't fall off no okay okay jerks all right apparently i have to take these trapdoors off ah oh we got one we got one for real this time i think and he doesn't know what to do all right buddy come over here come on now get scared and come over to the nice track over here here we go name tagged did it work okay broken bartering fantastic okay come on come on come on come on wait wait no no no oh oh we went down the hole goodbye name tag no here we go here we go okay for real this time can we do this all right you go down there you go down there close that off do this okay these stupid guys have nowhere to go now here we go this is such a fade all right name tag come here come here get over here you're afraid of the blue stuff come on not the little babies you come over here all right your name tagged and oh god and yeah name tag name tag name tag him i don't know if i named him let's go through and see please don't despawn please don't despawn did he go in the hole he's in the hole he's name tagged fantastic now i come down here turn on hit boxes uh yep yep i could see hit box of the guy hit box of him so i should be able to go eh yes yes okay we have one guy in there let's get some more got him excellent that's number two oh no the minecart's on top of his head delicately no no no get in the hole get in the hole okay thank you very much thank you for playing please stay in there this time maybe thank you i think i think you stayed in there i can't tell oh no he's on this side no you fool get back in there why why did he hit me oh because i opened a chest no there goes my name i'm gonna do more name tags well fast forward another hour or so and i'm finally done and everything is cleaned up oh that was not fun uh but i think if i f3 here the entity count when i look up here is nine so i think i have nine piggly wigglies in there name tagged and ready to barter their butts off so i haven't even tested this yet let's let's just grab some of the shiny shiny let's make some bars here 53 bars now in theory i put the bars in here on a clock they should be periodically spitting out into the chamber there that they are in and these guys will catch the bars before they fall down into the hopper in theory in theory uh and then they will barter something be like how about some of their shiny shiny and boom and it goes in there and it'll go up into the sorting system and it should appear right here that's all in theory let's see what happens oh that's going way too fast oh no it's filling into the dropper okay oh they're bartering they're bothering yeah i heard the clicks yeah yeah you can see them holding the gold bars there oh this is so good and oh it's working oh my gosh we're working ah the iron ingots is just filler stuff i had in there look at this okay so oh this is exciting all right so what we're going to do is get a sampling of all the items here look at this soul speed boots and everything just coming in uh we're going to get a sampling or everything and then we're going to set up our item filters here but this is just crazy town absolutely this system is just broken it is so overpowered just so overpowered unbelievable let me might as well so what i need to do is figure out the rate at which i can put gold bars in there and that's going to be determined by the clock i set in the back there i want to set that as fast as possible so that a the hoppers in the back can keep up uh and b so that no gold falls down in between there but mostly it's i don't think that gold's ever going to fall past the piglets i think it's really about just tuning the system so that it goes as fast as possible and a single hopper can hold up can hold up to the rates well well it is quite a few hours later now it's a couple hours later here and i am on the spectator account again because tangle man has to sit up top here for the farm to work correctly and right now it is just me and azuma and i know he's in the overworld so you get to see how this farm works at full speed now and this thing is just nuts i absolutely love it i'm so glad i i built it the way i did i'm so glad i got these extra wings to get the piglens off for everything otherwise we'd be hitting mob cap this thing's great it's just ridiculous like it's so easy to build this thing you probably build this thing in like a couple of hours or so and the rates i'm getting are just just so much gold i'm glad i went with the split hopper system here to support you know because one hopper would not be able to keep up with the drops of this farm it's just ridiculous here so anyways golden nuggets are getting lifted up to the top here and i i kind of redid some stuff and i wish i didn't i wish i didn't at this point i was unhappy with the rates at which i could barter with them so i tried to turn it up but then the you know the standard hopper sorting system couldn't couldn't keep up so i had to invent a whole new sorting system here with like minecarts on timing systems and shrooping under this like hopper lined here to pick all the items up and so this works really good the only problem is the unsortable items i have this chest right here and you can see it's just not even working this is my unsortable like anything that doesn't stack basically and it just i had to add so much more redstone for this to work and everything so i think i'm just gonna rip up everything i did and go back to a normal system and just it's just gonna have to really throttle the the trading rate but i think it doesn't matter because the rate at which you get gold is gonna bottleneck you anyway so we'll probably uh redo all this in a live stream but the resources we're getting here are just ridiculous i mean look at this i'm good crying stuff over here right a stack of obsidian you know who who needs another brick leather gravel i mean gravel right i don't have to go dig gravel anymore for concrete i just got an afk here overnight string blah blah blah this that all these things finally got a source of glow stuff going on and look this is like almost the best thing here this thing is a crazy quartz farm all right this is not a lot of afk time i'm gonna afk overnight now and this thing's gonna be crazy but unfortunately that is all the time i got for today we didn't get to the other hogman farm i was gonna do we'll probably do that next episode overall i am loving the nether update here i gotta say to sum it up they made exploring the nether way more fun a little bit scary again but they really tone down the farms a bit too much the farms are too easy gold farms with their skeleton farms they're just too easy now too easy so i want to thank you guys so much for watching there will definitely be a lot more nether content coming up and of course i gotta get back to the gaming district with etho so much to do i will see you guys
