Incredible Abandoned Gothic Castle in England | Over 200 Years Of History Forgotten

beside the lake sits a place with over 200 years of history this neo-gothic manner was built in the style of a castle in 1811. lived in until 2015 its weathered walls and crumbling turrets show its now state of decay [Music] abandoned and isolated it sits silently [Music] touched by only natural decay its ornate ceilings and peeling walls hold on to its original grandeur [Music] join us as we give you a tour of this beautiful forgotten country manor [Music] you ready man always let's do it oh jesus christ look at the size of these strawberries oh look at the size of them i don't know which one to take that's team's too big right guys so we're heading up north but on our way we've made a quick pit stop to check out this abandoned tank i've seen a few photos online looks pretty cool but it's actually in a firing range as well but we'll show you a bit more when we get up close it always seems a bit sketchy places like this military firing range and it's got bullet holes in the sign so there's another sign here telling risk of fire luckily we're in low at the moment just did a slight risk though pretty excited for this i've never seen a tank in real life before so it's definitely new it's new on the channel and it's new for us as well so i hope you enjoy it as much as we do the view up here is incredible it's like sorts of old army buildings over there look pretty cool maybe check those out as well don't often come across views like this it's beautiful do not touch any military debris that may explode and kill you just sounds dramatic doesn't it but you know it tends to be true it well it's true man it's pretty sketchy to be fair we're we're in military firing range right now where there's explosive debris just just loves explosives boom this is pretty cool empty rooms more empty rooms shame uh there's no stairs up because it'd be a good view up there it's pretty cool this yeah it's like proper military ruins in there all right let's see if we can get to this tank then oh there it remember is touch any military explosives that will explode yes baby i found one did you no way got eyes like a hawk oh that's like a proper rifle bullet man oh my god that is cool beautiful mate keep that souvenir let's go right necklace man yeah yes that's so cool nice nice find awesome yeah the back of the signs are cool man camo camo signs that's pretty cool what do you think of that it's different first time seeing a tank just in the middle of a field let's have a closer look that's an it's an amazing piece of kit in there oh yeah that's pretty cool there she is she's climbing it already can you get inside yeah is there anything in there like controls no look at the tracks on there there's some serious bullet holes and look at the size of that this would have been the entrance hop there she is look at her she's in the tank my glasses on like a circle piece glass goggles and helmet all right so we've made it inside you can see all the foot pedals the brakes the motor everything that's pretty cool and look at those old pedals it's all going to be seized up we think then dress pretty different isn't it yeah inside the tank wow i don't think i'm ever going to forget this place it's pretty incredible just the scenery alone is incredible let alone a tank just sat here in the middle of nowhere this is crazy isn't it let's hit the road then next location here we time for some come jess is very disappointed to those cherries wow look at this place man mate i'm actually questioning what in a million years you've brought me to this actually looks like an adams family castle it is me it's the adam's family mansion isn't it jess actually looks like it wow this is crazy yeah look at that architecture and it's like the archway into the garden this is sort of stuff you see in like massive estates owned by the national trust and places [Applause] yeah you'd actually like people pay to see this that's what i mean people pay to see this just left it i'm surprised or the landscape i know look at the river looks over the lake this is crazy i don't think i've ever explored a building like this with architecture like this now i'm hoping we can get in because this looks pretty like yeah it looks pretty silly oh this is so grand what an amazing amazing building it's going to alarm the cameras you know there's going to be some like round rooms in there yeah like dome rooms i feel like a prime minister in that room no president yeah you can imagine though you can imagine like a king or a queen or like the prime minister these are the sorts of places they live in yeah even little hand-carved faces there it's like holes for arrows yeah there's more over here all the way around they look completely different oh yeah they're all different i know they're they're the same but different on each side oh right on left to right they're different yeah there's a little camera then whoa now that looks like something from the addams family oh yeah oh wow you can you can tell they used to be bigger can't you yeah it's like the tops have fell off from there i'm pretty excited to get in there i'm not gonna lie yeah look at the archway oh stained glass on the front door this place is cameraed up but i don't think they're working man not even a camera is that a motion sensor oh yeah look at the pillar wow looks like fire damage up there maybe just rock yeah to be fair yeah like thankfully like it just does look like an old abandoned building yeah you got me for like it's good because the wood being this old and not right down yeah that's right i've had many visitors yeah it's huge it's big yeah that's what i mean that looks like that looks like there's a basement yeah it's pretty sealed man wow hench not even in there's all this is the way man yeah so up through this tiny hole in the roof it's gonna be hard man this is the way i love your window i know they're so nice aren't they so old-fashioned didn't it oh mate now it's gonna be it's gonna be difficult we're gonna have to build we're gonna have to build some sort of ladder and uh there's enough stuff [Music] guys we've made it inside the castle i mean that was a mission getting in i didn't think we were going to be able to do it quite honestly no really because it was all the history at the start of cinematics bit of drone footage and i think we're just going to get on the explorer look at the room look at the windows they're like real castle windows that's just so cool oh this little room is funky then it's like different colored walls it's like original 70s lampshade a little fireplace pretty cool this one's gonna be insane still got carpets and wallpaper in this room i just love the windows it's just like proper castle windows isn't there oh look there's like kids stickers and stuff really football stickers oh yeah oh i wish i knew more about football yeah simply the best oh yes i got old i think it's my new yeah i think it is it's kind of a little bathroom area the peely paint in here is incredible wouldn't it yeah look at all the sinks this must have been like a big washroom or something wow hey hey hey right in my future look at that i don't even want to step over her courtyard into the courtyard wow room of decay wow look at that corridor walk too hippy do you hear people shouting them yeah these stairs don't think you can use these stairs oh look at the floor oh i didn't even realize that yeah you can't you can't use these stairs i fell for it oh look it's almost like a pristine bathroom oh it's a pink one oh look at the mirror and stuff on the wall it's like a time capsule bathroom noticed with a lot of these old buildings i realized in scotland they've all got um b-days [Music] yeah in scotland the first ever b day was um in in scotland was in coco chanel's mansion oh really so if you haven't see if you haven't seen that video guys check out the channel coco chanel's abandoned mansion look at the corridors oh yeah children's one that's a new board on the floor georgia's really scary they're creepy yeah it's like old-fashioned cars wow that's weird oh yeah look they're up there as well a little fireplace as well i know not the gold trimming oh there's a room oh yeah looks like floor i wonder if we can get up in the turrets another big room most of these rooms are empty not too impressive but still pretty cool i hope so man i hope it's about to get pro yes yeah that's right man look at these old doors it's like you can see that it's green before now it's red i don't really fancy my chances wow look at this room all the detailing on the top another fireplace as well [Music] oh that's into the room of death this is really old oh yeah for real it is the princess room [Music] look at the fireplace as well that is grand i think all of that brass for his brass it was all done by hand incredible [Music] i love these funky like lamp shades they've got everywhere yeah they're in good condition too oh yeah the door frame wow funky colors though it's not really classic sort of colors yeah oh look at that corridor the architecture's getting much better now do you see that just even have arches through them wow oh my god look at the roof man oh my it's wow and that is truly incredible [Music] [Music] so luke's just noticed there's actually like a little lantern which is on the wall i wonder if that was oil or i know it's got a bulb in it it's pretty cool though wow oh so landing guys i wasn't expecting this from um you know those last few room few rooms literally and the stained glass as well it's incredible beautiful whoa that's falling through the floor oh my gosh look at that room that is so sad to see and it's like an amazing just talking about yeah it's like a super impressive building super historic and it's just left to its own demise [Music] wow just look at that corridor this is like uh it's like this is like a princesses castle like like the detailing on the fireplaces and all the wallpaper and stuff and the little pink lampshades it's like tiles oh yeah pretty unique i love it in all buildings and they've got like the cupboards set into the wall like that you see that anymore all right it's only one way now and that's down the staircase oh look at it from down here that is incredible that's the sky that's what you call a sky like that it's a real skylight yep [Music] are you liking this jess it's our first actual abandoned castle yeah we stayed in a running castle but it's cool i like castles yeah me too we've got to hit some more castles [Music] luke's just hinted that there's something special around the corner in here are you ready for this i'm i'm excited man getting me excited look at the roof and hair mind you wow this is like a princess's castle it's like rapunzel's like fairy fairytale castle yeah completely untouched it's just natural decay isn't it i'm seeing any graffiti here look at that curtain this yeah maybe that's like something you see in buckingham palace who's going first man wow it's like the main living room oh my gosh what an incredible place this is a huge fireplace yeah i'm pretty taken from words in this place you know [Music] yeah look looking even in the windows the wood panels detailed james boarded that view over the mirrors view over the lake yeah i've been beautiful man my gosh it's even got chandelier look at that archway it's like um it's really old-fashioned it's like from an old cottage yeah oh this is potentially revamped yeah i'm definitely it's like plaster on the walls and stuff look at this it's like proper tudor judah cottage isn't it wow this is insane oh yeah that was a big four poster bed i can't believe that no property developers have brought this place it's just certainly going to waste i wonder if that has got a meaning behind it that symbol man it's like coat of arms or something if anyone recognizes that drop it down in the comments it looks like a uh double-headed phoenix this reminds me a bit of a chapel mind as well like style of it all look at the size of the doors well you can't even open those doors but [Music] oh that would have been amazing stained glass wouldn't it is that the front door that would have been the main front door here it's got the archer of it outside main way in i'm enjoying this this is different to your average abandoned places here in the uk this is like a change of style isn't it it is it's just like a tudor cottage yeah i'm in like an old pub now yeah yeah me too something to the courtyard oh yeah oh it's weirdly surrounded by building right now i know yeah that is like the weirdest surrounded by castle [Music] literally [Music] foreign it's pretty decayed this part yeah it's probably the kitchen this is the kitchen yeah definitely no maybe was at one point i think another little kitchen oh look they got some wow there we go it looks a bit better oh yeah that is old-school freezer man [Music] can you imagine having that in your counter holidays yeah little peep in here yeah suddenly turned to like old cottage it's really strange [Music] oh yeah it's like a weird little sitting room waiting room or something joking they did weddings here wedding venues because that would have looked outside wouldn't it yeah oh this room would have been amazing as well it's like the main living room fireplace red curtains just look amazing [Music] just notice that there's a hole and the floor it's all the way down oh so deep oh my god it's like underground tunnels thing is can we lower ourselves in it's really deep don't think we'll be able to get back out no someone's dug through there for a reason it looks like a water pipe used to go squirt straight down there so it's probably used for sewage and stuff the other pipes there yeah it's the grand red curtains red curtains red carpet and stuff like that always gives me that grand royal vibe [Music] that way it's that way this tunnel runs that way man it's a risky one i think we're gonna have to come back with we need a stepladder with a stepladder that's it yeah all right okay cool i was going to say that as i said guys if you
