what's up I'm troubleshoot in this quick guide I'll be showing you how you can clear your Nvidia Shad of cache to improve game stuttering and even performance in some cases just keep in mind this isn't necessarily a required step but you can do this once in a while to improve stability in certain games not all of them if you'd like to know how to optimize your system for way better performance you'll find guides for those in the description down below all right so what is the shade of cach well when you play games it creates things called shaders which is practically everything you see in the game it caches them for later use so it doesn't need to recreate them but sometimes they're outdated they're corrupt Etc and by having these lying around it could cause issues and stutters while you're playing the game when it corrects itself Etc what we can do instead is clear the cache and the next time you play the game you may experience some stuttering for a few minutes or it may need to regenerate shaded cache when you hit the main menu Etc like Call of Duty does but once that's done you'll be going just as well if not better than you did in game all right let's begin what you need to do first of all is disable your Shader cache right click your desktop and choose Nvidia control panel in here you'll be heading across to manage 3D settings then on the global settings page you'll scroll all the way to the bottom until you see Shader cache size what you want to do is choose from the drop down disabled over here now that we've disabled the Shad of cache click apply and we'll leave this window open as we'll come back here in just a few moments I'll minimize it then I'll hold windows and press R to bring up the Run dialogue in here type in percentage Local app data percentage one word and hit enter in here you'll simply Hit N to jump down to n open up the Nvidia folder as such and in here you may see more or fewer files than I do what you need to do is open the GL cache folder and in here hit control a to select everything then hit shift and delete to permanently delete all of these leftover cache files we'll choose yes and once it's done at the very top we'll be choosing app data then local low we'll click anywhere and hit n once more to jump down to invidium open it P Drive D version DX cache and in here we'll be selecting everything with crl a and once again shift delete to delete everything in here simply choose yes once more and wait for them all to be deleted if you see anything like this tick this box and choose skip now that we've done this we'll clear the remaining directex shaded cache files by hitting start and typing in cleanup open dis cleanup choose C drive okay wait for it to complete and once it's done we'll be unchecking everything unless you know what you're doing find directex shade C tick this and then choose okay followed by delete files once this is done we'll have successfully cleared all of our shared caches on our system and now we can reenable it so open up the inidia control panel once more on the manage 3D settings tab global settings find Shad of cache size and change it back to whatever it was before if not 100 GB now of course if this was disabled before or super small raising the size can actually improve your performance in game by having more shaders cached Etc just make sure you have a bunch of space left over on your C drive click apply close the Nvidia control panel and you're done the next time you fire up games remember there could be some temporary instability while shaders are being regenerated you may have to do it on the main menu like in Call of Duty but once that's done performance should be better stability should be much better and that's really it so thank you all for watching M's been troubleshoot and I'll see you all next time CIA
