The character wasn't the problem. It was the nonstop jokes about him being fat.

I hated that they continusly made fun of Thor, not that he lost his physic or got depressed. Chris is a great actor that can make a scene where he smiles and two seconds later he cryies totaly belivable, why not let the audience feel that and feel for Thor.

Cap had an amazing support group scene. Why not make a short scene that someone showed Thor support from his heros friends?? I could be a pat on the back.

Instead we got: Cheese wizz, is he asleep, most of them looking at him that he was an drunk idiot when ha talked of asgard, big lebowsky, burping, belly hug, chips on the belly.

So no it’s not the depression or gained weight, it’s how they made his friends treat him like a joke instead of supporting him. Atleast not making him feel worse.

I don’t understand why people were upset. 1- it was just plain funny. 2- it was very necessary for his character development

Honestly, I love Bro Thor. His self-doubt and feelings of anguish were adapted straight from the comics and his β€œI am still worthy” one-liner was the most genuine endpoint to his character arc through the Infinity Saga.

[Music] hey everyone I'm the Canadian lad and I have seen many people complain about how Thor was depicted in a vendor's endgame a lot of people think it was either fat shaming or they were just using Thor as a comic relief now the creators of Avengers endgame defended fat Thor ever since the movie was released but some fans are yet to be convinced they believe Thor has risen from the dead in Thor Ragnarok and then became even more powerful in infinity war but only to be wasted in endgame because it's obvious Thor was at his peak so everybody was expecting him to be even more powerful in endgame but that didn't happen and it made a lot of fans upset so in this video I'm gonna give you five reasons that might change your perspective on fair Thor and you may end up loving his character even more so without any further ado let's begin number one let's make a list of people who Thor has lost in his lifetime inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe Frigga his mother who died protecting his girlfriend Odin who basically got killed because Loki wanted to make sure Thor never gets to sit on the throne Jane Foster his girlfriend who ultimately left him but he still remains in denial that it was a mutual breakup Thor's expression and Loki patting him on the back really tells it wasn't that mutual at all it was indeed Jane who decided to leave him then comes hella his sister who he had to kill by destroying his very own planet and then half of his guardians moments after he saves all these people from hella Thanos attacks and kills half of all his Guardians right in front of his eyes and not to forget his best friend Heimdall and his brother Loki both got killed in the same day all of these people were very close to Thor even the Loki and hella were pretty much villains in his life but they were still siblings I just gave you the number of people Thor has lost and I'm yet to mention half of the universe who essentially died because of Thor's ego had Thor gone for the head Thanos wouldn't have snapped the reason Thor didn't go for the head is because he wanted to have a one-on-one with Thanos just to let him know I told you for that which was totally unnecessary and it was clearly visible that Thor was raged with vengeance he didn't want to kill thanos to stop him from snapping he totally forgot about that part he wanted to kill thanos to take revenge for his brother and his best friend vengeance had consumed him so much that he totally forgot that Thanos can still snap his fingers despite being injured he underestimated Thanos nobody came this much close to stopping Thanos other than him and he failed miserably because of his own ego so it's pretty fair to say not only his family in his Guardians but half the universe had to suffer which Thor could have prevented if he had conviction number two Bruce Banner also blamed himself for not being able to stop Thanos nobody blamed you said black widow but banner still took it on himself so banner blamed himself just like Thor did but why is it that Bruce Banner improved in the five years time span whereas Thor became fat and weak and also why is it that banner remained optimistic while Thor had totally given up it's because banner and the other Avengers knew what Tanis is capable of doing they really fought to prevent the staff from taking place they did their best but their best wasn't enough before didn't even do his best he easily overpowered Thanos using stone breaker it was a matter of seconds to kill thanos but he failed to do so so deep down he really blames himself far more than anybody else and that's why it became so harder for him to digest the reality it got to a point where Thor literally told everyone not to mention tanis's name in the new Asgard [Music] we didn't actually say that name in here so for someone who lost so much and it also happens to have affected half of a life in the universe how will he remain sane and how will he cope up with so many disappointments isn't it obvious that he will try to do anything to forget his past and to do that he might just choose alcohol as his cape from reality and that's exactly what he has done number three Marvel couldn't have made the same mistake like DC we all know how an overpowered superhero can totally disrupt an entire movie no matter how well-written the rest of the characters are if one of them is extremely overpowered it can easily shake the ground beneath the villain Justice League for example all the heroes were having a tough time until Superman arrived and it took him literally under four minutes to completely annihilate the villain I'm also a big fan of Justice [Music] Oh [Music] now coming back to the MCU look what happened when Thor was still at his peak and Thanos had no stones to defend himself you're right this time he made no mistakes and went for the head twenty minutes into the movie and an overpowered Thor had already beheaded the antagonist of the film by the way why do you think Marvel kept away Captain Marvel until the end because he's also too much Opie had she been there from the beginning there wouldn't be a final battle like this there would be no drama or thrill same would have happened if they kept Thor exactly the way he was in infinity war a peak Thor would have gotten the better of Thanos on any given day and that's why rooster Brothers had to nerve him down so we can witness and evenly-matched battle number four Marvel could afford to risk that Thor because it wasn't the last movie of Chris Hemsworth and before I explain this here's my question to you why do you think Marvel overpowered Captain America and Iron Man leavin Thor behind because it was the very last film for both Captain America and Iron Man Chris Evans and RDJ both reached the end of their contracts and they're not coming back but Hemsworth on the other hand has probably two more movies left one being floor love and thunder and another being Avengers 5 so Marvel had to conclude Steve Rogers and Tony Stark's character in the most satisfying way possible they couldn't afford to risk experimenting with these two characters but they certainly could with Thor they left many doors unlocked for him to open up in future films because endgame left Thor with those few extra pounds imagine what Marvel can do with this in Thor love and thunder we will now get a Thor movie where the god of thunder is training and working out to get back in shape almost as fun as watching an origin story imagine how that will look when he finally makes an entrance with a stone breaker while being completely back in shape that would be just as epic as his entrance in Florida Rock number 5 Chris Hemsworth himself wanted to keep fair Thor in endgame the writers along with rooster brothers who directed the film they all had planned that at some point during endgame Thor will eventually get back in shape prior to the final battle but Hemsworth opposed the idea saying he'd like to keep himself that way because he wants to depict that even with those extra pounds Thor still remains Thor he said it can work as an inspiration for other people who are depressed and fighting with obesity so Marvel didn't want a fat shame at all in fact it was quite the opposite and credit goes to Chris Hemsworth for choosing to do so by keeping his character fat throughout the entire movie they can now reinvent many different ways for him to come back to his shape in Thor for almost like giving a new life to his character another point I'd like to add that Thor went through another transformation where he gets back in shape in endgame that would make the movie incredibly rushed and lose a lot of credibility but having an entire film with him fighting obesity just makes the foundation more stronger so now when he finally gets back in shape in future films the audience will respect it even more and these are the five main reasons why I loved the way Marvel played out Thor in endgame even though he was extremely nerve order to dramatize the story and bring more action in the table but I do agree with how they decided to continue his character arc do let me know if I managed to change your perspective on drunk Thor and if you already liked how he was shown in the film do give me a thumbs up as well and don't forget to follow me on instagram and my handle should appear on your screen as well as in the description also join my team of Marvel lads by grabbing the subscribe button and I will see you lads in the next one [Music]
