I Transformed a Ravine Into a Minecraft Base!

welcome back to another minecraft video where today we're going to burn down this village i i i wasn't lying uh the village is now burning make sure to subscribe to smallish beans if you want to see me burn down a spruce village next time that's right this is the intro minecraft has had ravines for a long time now however it's very rare you hear the phrase i love ravines in minecraft that's because normally in survival you'll discover ravines this way oh no sometimes you'll see an oil you want at the bottom however most of the time you look down and see a ton of mobs lather and other various obstacles so you just hop over for a brief second of adrenaline and then move on with your day but today we're doing the opposite in fact we're gonna try and make this ravine here into a base can we make it look good probably not but we'll give it a good go first however we had to get rid of this pesky village here use some world edit to get rid of most of the blocks and we also had a bit of a problem with villagers and them making noise not that i took any joy in killing them yes goodbye i'm so sorry no i did leave this one house with this one villager to stay though i'm just such a nice guy so i started off with a bit of terraforming just to make this thing look a bit nicer sort of changed the stone and like you know the awkward edges there and made it this nice of like flowing dirt instead which i think to looked really good plus i also changed all the granite and all that rubbish to stone we then got working on a couple of bridge just across the top of this thing as well we're probably going to work on a bit of the top a little bit later because we're about to move on to the inside now where it's looking a bit a bit mental to be honest also from the top it looks like i've done nothing so far apart from adding these two bridges but it does look a lot better in here i promise but i i realized there's two ravines here i i didn't notice that it was two crossing ones at first but oh well also what is this this like weird ledge thing there's a couple of them maybe we can take this into account let's do a bit more shaping of the cliff and then we can start working on the layout of this thing so i decided to get rid of that sort of ledge in the sort of middle bit which wasn't really a ledge just so stuck out slightly but we're keeping the bottom ledge that's going to be our first layer of the base we also shaped a load of the rock on the side as well just to make it look nicer and changed it to an oak path added a few bridges across then we got adding in some greenery falling into this thing as well as a waterfall you'll see up here in a second i didn't want to add too many leaves falling down so i just did a few sections and when you're actually inside it looks awesome it looks a bit strange on the outside still but it looks cool inside as you can see here look at that that's looking really pretty added in a load of lanterns as well we also used world editor to change all the stone to cobblestone and andersite as well i just think that makes everything look really nice look at that oh that's looking good and here's the waterfall over here we had the dinner just sort of creeping down the side here we'll have to make this like link up properly and look all nice i've completely left this zone under here for now i'm not sure what we're gonna do with this i was thinking of actually turning this into like a river but then having like a pathway along the side maybe not sure just yet but let's start figuring out where some rooms are gonna go and also we need to figure out what we're doing here as well it's very dark so you know i said i was gonna do like the rooms and stuff ha you're wrong in fact i'm actually going to terraform this bottom layer and i don't know why this idea just came to me of like let's just make it like a really green and like overgrown nice section i think you guys know how much i like to do like overgrown stuff well we did it again here we're adding in a load of leaves and like little trees and greenery and stuff and when i show you it in full in a second you're gonna be pretty happy i'm sure it looks very very cool and also we did do this cave as well look at this doesn't this look so much better holy moly we've got like these rivers coming in here we've got the bamboo on the side etc we've got like a big body of water in the section where there's waterfalls pouring in it from over here by the cave we've got another waterfall here and one here as well honestly if i can get a good angle this place looks epic look at that oh but yeah we got this cave over here which i think we're gonna make our main sort of area let's give it a bit of decorations at the moment you know what it's looking a bit empty guess who forgot to time-lapse it's me yes that's right we actually didn't time-lapse this but as you can see here we've done some decorating i've added some more hanging leaves and stuff and we've also added in this lovely chest room here i think this is probably enough chest for this size of base it does actually look like quite a big base when you come out here and there's all this space but we're not gonna be using that much of it it's mainly just for decoration it's only this layer here we're gonna be using really we got a load of barrels and stuff here for some extra storage if we need a little fireplace in the corner some paintings and over here we've got all the things we probably would ever need we've got a crafted table anvils some blast furnaces some regular old furnaces some armor we've got more barrels over here and a brewing stand as well plus a few shelves around just to make it look all that a bit nicer and you know what let's add a bit of a carpet in the center here maybe not actually i'm not a huge fan of that i'll just leave that one there there we go very nice i'm actually going to move on to a couple other rooms over here now i have one i want to do directly here let's actually just plan this out quickly we've got an enchanting room we need a bedroom i kind of want close to there so i'll put the bedroom here actually let's do like a farm there and then we'll have an enchanting area here i think that'd be a really nice place for that bedroom farm got lots of space over here maybe some like villagers over here just chilling and then finally a room here which can be like the never portal room or something let's start with this enchanting area here's i feel like this would be a lovely little zone for it these are my favorite enchanting areas to build where it's just you know wild overgrown bookshelves everywhere you don't have to worry about the level of enchantment because you just shove as many bookshelves as you want in there and i decided to add in some bells and some dragon heads plus some end crystals because i thought yeah that looks cool when you stand back and look at it you think yeah that does look pretty cool and we're gonna move straight on to our first room let's do this one over here this can be our never portal room time lapse go i didn't want to make an overly complicated portal room but i went for a sort of double portal design they both would lead to the same place obviously but i just want to use a bit of the crimson and the warp do you know and it's fine it's nothing special you walk in there's your portals you go through the portal you turn up in the nether and it's horrible so you go straight back easy as that and then you shut the doors because you never want to go again next up i'm just going to do something with this area here i said villagers let's see what it turns out as i'm not entirely sure to be honest so this is really practical for the amount of villager trading most people normally do i just wanted to add a few in you know as like a little cutesy little market area and that's exactly what i did added in some sort of little bits on the top to make it look all markety added in some decoration as well [ __ ] bobs and there you go i don't think [ __ ] bobs and there you go is something someone says but we've added in a very nice section here i'm quite happy of it lots of villagers all with their different trades you come in you trade it's very lovely you got your canopies above yeah i think it's a cute area although not super practical or efficient it's just nice sometimes you don't have to do things efficiently also look at this flying through here i'm loving this base i think this is a super fun project let's head into one of these doors here this one here it's going to be our bedroom of course we have to make the bedroom green because that's just who i am i just decided to decorate it very basically not a huge room once again it's not about making these huge rooms off the side instead we're having a few different quite nice little rooms which is just a bit easier for me to decorate to be honest after my massive palace build on x life it's nice to have like some cozy rooms such as this one here we've got the bed down here very nice to sleep in we've got a wardrobe here some stuff in it as well some paintings some plants and lantern and some item frames as well nothing too crazy but you know what i like it and we've got one more room now as well which is which one is it is this one over here and this is just gonna be our farm because i'm not sure if you've noticed we're a bit far away from the surface i haven't actually made a way to get up to the surface yet i need to do that i'll do that after the farm so again nothing super spectacular about this farm it's very basic i just sort of made this sort of square cave and then just added in some nice like you know hanging rocks as well from it it looks a bit dodgy around the edges i might trim it up a little bit but i've left the most satisfying bit for last and that's this are you ready crops they grow quick it also points out the bits where it's too dark for crops to grow so maybe we lit up these as well but there you go quite practical this one not the best looking but practical so where do i put the staircase up we've got these bridges across we need a way up you know what we'd have to do a staircase instead got an idea now you might be able to have a staircase elsewhere but i instead decided to add in a lovely elevator which will take you up to this little building up here where you can just hop in it's safe when you come up as well you have to worry about mobs being around because you'll be lovely inside the building a very basic little house holding in the two little tunnels here you got one which takes you down which i actually forgot to do the oak here i should probably do that there we go that's better and then you've got another tunnel which also takes you up as well perfection and you know what for the inside of the base i'm really happy with this i think this area is looking very nice and now i kind of want to work on just a bit up here sort of make these pathways branch off add in a bit of greenery as at the moment this kind of just stands out we want some trees and stuff let's do it with our final time lapse of the day so at the moment i'm taking every opportunity i have to try and up my tree making game and i'm gradually getting a lot better at it i think my trees now are actually looking so much better than i did like maybe even six months ago sort of thing i even made a birch tree as you can see here which i am really happy with i think this one looks awesome we've got two oaks one sort of like big one and one's a little fat one there you go look at this place wow from below from above you can come out here oh yes that looks so good i'm so happy with this i think this place is looking really really good from up here oh it does look good my my my i actually took a screenshot from up here before so you can kind of see the difference we've made i'll try and transition between the two now yes look at it so we have a way into the base we have bridges over the ravine we've got so much stuff inside the ravine separate rooms a big chest area enchanting area everything you'd ever need and honestly i'm really happy with this i wasn't sure i was going to turn out but you know what it's one of my favorite things i've built so far in 1.16 for sure but unfortunately guys we're completely
