I Played 100 Days on Hardcore Ark Survival Evolved | The Lost Island

how's it going ladies and gentlemen here we are on a brand new arc the lost island and it looks pretty serene right pretty calm wrong this place is scary filled with natural killers like this guy i mean given the right circumstances he could be dangerous but it's also got vicious killers like i i mean if you ate a rare flower around this guy that'd be the stuff nightmares are made of how about this yeah that's something there we go see see dangerous dangerous place and i'm gonna be trying to live here for 100 days on hardcore mode yeah that's right if i die it's over i lose everything everything it's my first time trying the challenge because hey this is my first video can you believe you might be the first person ever watching my stuff here or the hundred or the hundred thousandth let's aim for that last one but no matter where you're coming in on the view count i want you to do us both a favor right now or you know what not right now i mean you could if you wanted to right at this moment but if at any point throughout this video if it makes you laugh cry or be downright awestruck you'd go ahead and hit that like yeah the like button and you know what the subscribe button too do them both do both i also went ahead and set the difficulty to maximum just wanted to give all the dinos that extra killing power i think the boss gets harder as well though i'm not sure and a quick shout out to luke the notable and forge labs for creating and popularizing the 100 days series so here i am beginning of the new adventure you know everyone always goes on and on about first thing you do punch tree punch a tree punch tree no no no no first thing you do you got to take it in it's a new adventure so many possibilities this new world just blossoming around you never rush that moment take it in and then punch a tree i hit the ground running fiber berries stone and with that stone i made a weapon and with that weapon i picked on dinosaurs much smaller myself of course nothing would be wasted though then i found some other little ones and again no mercy this is day one there is no room for mercy on day one although i did like that i like the color of of this one i like the color of this one so i thought you know maybe a little room for mercy on day one i mean i did need the eggs so i put this one behind a rock it was the safest place i could think of at the time but then i found a big group four four in one spot and i thought that's a lot of eggs and when i start a farm that's a lot of poop so i said everyone behind this rock of safety it even had a view of more rocks they loved it then i thought this is a beautiful space i wasn't sure why they were calling it the gloomy coast with all these rocks of safety abounding i figured i'd set down my first roots here i did need a safe spot for these dodos after all and i'd be expecting a lot out of them a lot of poop and a lot of eggs they liked it more than the rocks and this one made herself right at home but it was cool though as a wise man once told me never let a good poo go to waste and i'd be fertilizing my farms with it later on i'd also be needing the eggs then i got things rolling with the mortar and pestle and harvested stone for the rest of the day day two when the fruit of my labors from the night paid off as i had enough materials to build a forge and a smithy and from those i made a pick and played a little man versus rock and i won then a moss chops told me he needed some prime fish me so i told him i needed his hide then i ran into a low level trike which is nice on day two because if i could get him tamed up that would be some easy berries easy narco berries for day two and day two narco berries are like an escalator you're gonna take it if it's there but then i saw it yeah you saw two right the sarco that didn't want me to have day two narco berries this sarco was my very first hater a hater gator he also made me realize that i wasn't just on a sunny beach i was on the edge of the gloomy coast which was called that because i was right next to a swamp i should have started somewhere else anywhere else i tamed up the trike yeah but now i knew i was living next to a swamp and there's no shrek here level 15 trikes don't get to live long next to a swamp so i had to harvest as much as i could with him while i had him but after that is when i spotted it the first pt of the adventure and everybody knows you don't judge a man for what he's got to do to the first pt he sees an arc then i found a moss chops who had a strong sense of reality this guy mijo berries of course i had some on hand and him and i rode off into the sunset and day three look at that not dead not only not dead i was taking my moss chops for a jog and then i saw this monster of a trike he could probably one shot me so i had to build a trap for him and it could be because he had a dinosaur brain uh but he went right into it while the trite tamed i went to the other side of the bay and stumbled upon the body of fear incarnate for a beach bob like myself so i took a little bite and slowly backed away later when the tri-kid tamed i was feeling good like maybe not three but definitely two raptors i could take them especially with the moss chops at my six not a problem and with this tank of a trike i bullied turtles for the rest of the night keeping a safe distance from the swamp of course day four and picking on turtles all night was more than just good fun i actually got a saddle for my pt out of it so the world was now my uh my hermit crab i think the saying goes and or i i was a hermit crab looking for a new home i don't know i needed a new place away from the swamp hopefully with a pool a pool would be nice huh look at that a pool but despite the pool i it just it didn't feel like home didn't feel like home so i kept looking nasty fog though always worried you're gonna land on a raptor in this stuff after that though i found my first drop and as is customary with me i get something that i'll probably never use for the rest of the playthrough then i found some crystals so i won't have to inspect a rex's teeth to see what level it is and then i spotted an interesting island it wasn't covered in carnivores which is something i always look for in my ark real estate and plenty of room for my journeyman fur collection near the end game yeah no pool but i think we found home on this one but on my way out i did spot a whale so i wasn't gonna be taking the raft with all that work my pt earned himself the name perry the t is silent and shortly after that we shared an awkward moment me and perry i told him not to make it weird but it's always strange taking the poo of a dino with a name but i needed that fertilizer the dodo's never made it weird though eyes up and away and i don't usually have this at this stage but i had a farm going pretty early day four my fertilizer game was on point day five and it was time to pay the gacha claws a little visit with some of the mistletoe i had collected the night before but it was next to the swamp so i was nervous the entire time and look at that it paid off because i got myself a nice little flak helmet with some pretty little gloves to go with it and it came time that i thought i needed an rg i needed to move some serious weight and i needed some serious muscle and after looking for a while i spotted an absolute beauty of a 150. so i kited him up to what i thought would be a safe place to do some taming then folks i made a big mistake you see i engaged with the rg in a little tit for tat after a while i thought the rg would have been close to being tamed so i let perry tank the hits while i tried to finish it off and i thought it'd be okay as long as i kept a close eye on perry the whole time only thing is check this out look at this you think perry's safe right i couldn't see any blood at the time it was hidden behind the bush perry was almost a goner then i spotted it right there two more hits and i would have been stranded on that mountain alone and the adventure would have ended for me right there but i still needed an rg so i kept going rain or shine i'd get me an rg and finally i put in one last hit and i thought the rg's got to go down from this one and it did unfortunately right beside a sabretooth but perry here still had some fight in him and you know what perry turned into the hero of this story yeah pulled aggro pulled the saber tooth right off the cliff anyway at this point i got up to the rg and realized something i hadn't brought any meat or prime meat with me so it was time to head back to base because i had seen a low level bronto there and i figured with a little help from the moss chops my trike might be able to take him down the plan worked perfect and in not too long i was already on my way back to the rg with some fresh prime meat this was big i was super excited about this it was like bringing home a nice big trophy day six not a good day you know you know all those little islands out there i went to every single one of those little islands looking for trilobites there were none so i ended up having to pick on these turtles for the rest of the night and you know by the end of it i was tired i was tired but my rg got that saddle day seven and it was the moment i had been waiting for the argentevis killing spree i always focus on the hyenadons for the maximum amount of experience and i also kill the rex for the optics back at base i named a couple dinos the trike would be impact my argentavis would be rudy judy and for unwavering bravery in the face of danger i named the moss chops judo chop and because no argentavis is complete without nanky i got me one of those that night day 8 started with an attempted assassination so i said time to fortify on my private island i started by placing foundations down but then i realized that's all of them these are all the foundations i have i'm gonna need some stone i put this little guy down and i was excited to get him on the team so i figured i had some time to kill and maybe a couple hyenadons to do the same but then just like a nightmare where you can't run fast i had to be on the slowest dino in the game as i watched the sabertooth rip my doet apart and you know i learned a valuable lesson that day no more two birds with one stone you focus on the doe head and then you'll have plenty of stones to throw at birds but i used all my darts on the first doe head so now i only had arrows and he shelled me out i figured it was a good time to go on a walk and i live in the snow biome some people call it canada so it can get cold but despite the cold there's always something to do on a walk like delicately touch a tree or find some squishy water just before it freezes and then squish it day nine and after such a nice walk i was ready to put my doed problems behind me by covering some of the bases like forges and metal and you know what when i got back that doe had had some time to think he was ready to join the team with some minor persuasion day 10 cleaned up the base with my new buddy this guy was eager to show off his moves and then i got to thinking if i could get a griffin this early that would really butter my buns and after not too long looking you know what i found one and sure not the highest level but these buns would be buttered but before you eat the buns you gotta set the table so i made myself a nice little trap a trap so genius not even his little bird brain saw it coming and then all i had to do next was watch this animation about 70 times but it was worth it because a wise man once told me first you get the griffin then you get the guns and then you get the tames so i named him after his favorite hobby and that night me and swoop found what would be a very important dino for us if we were going to take on alpha by day 100 yeah that tech rex i had to note the location because i needed that those were boss rex genetics day 11 i met a rex that refused to accept death yeah i slapped this guy with a 420 so many times forget about blood he didn't even break a sweat and he was a level 45 or something at one point he mad dog me good and i was just like that's it you win bud i'll go back to being a poo farmer for the rest of the day or something but i didn't farm pooh all day actually in the night i went drop hunting and i got some pretty good stuff i got a biscuit of a crossbow bp and with a long neck bp as well well that was the gravy what i'm trying to say is with the freshly buttered buns of my griffin plated next to that biscuit of a crossbow lathered with the gravy of that long neck do you know what that makes yeah that's right safari style taming i just needed a good target and because i was on the market for some cave dinos i was looking for wolves first but wasn't having much luck not until i found this guy i mean this guy the moment i saw him i just i knew he was a champion and i knew i needed him on my team and you know what else i knew that would just take a little biscuits and gravy it was an amazing hunt he played me hot and cold pretending to run away only to turn around and lunge in for an attack he ran strange patterns forcing me to miss with many arrows at times hitting me with some damage that made me think i needed him on my team a yellow drop came down but i couldn't be pulled away from this hunt and then after what felt like forever that big blue beast fell i then went to the nearby redwoods and gathered honey to complete the tame as it is one of the choice foods of the megatherium i put it in his inventory and later that day returned to find a new key player and eventually a good friend he was big blue i also had a mammoth teaming that day and still had a ways to go so i had some time to kill i found a nice little river with a roaring waterfall at the end of it as i flew over it looked down at the dinopithecus below i had no idea that i was about to do something really really dumb maybe there was still some adrenaline flowing through my blood but i saw rex and for some reason i thought it'd be a good idea to try to kill it with my sword and you know what it actually might have worked if it wasn't for this 140 carnal that just happened to be there that i didn't see and inflicted that bleed on me i tried to finish the fight but had to fly away it was too close and i felt dumb so dumb that i took it out on my newly tamed mammoth there under the moonlight i named him dumbo projecting at its finest but not my finest moment [Applause] day 13 and i realized i hadn't named the tribe yet so we went with the mijo berries and then i took the mammoth out for a spin so i could get some much needed wood i was running low on charcoal and really needed some to make some more ammo and sometimes when you least expect it the moment of beauty comes along so i enjoyed a sunrise with this mammoth known as dumbo it was bittersweet but had to get back to business and my base needed appliances so i got a generator down a fridge a fabricator and an industrial cooker the base was really starting to come together and then i gathered metal until dawn day 14 and i wanted a greenhouse halfway up my base so i worked on that but you know what else i wanted i wanted a wolf and of course i wanted to take him down safari style it was a good hunt but it left me almost dead from the cold i had to get out of the snow biome fast which just happened to lead me right into a beautiful red and green present with no shortage of dangers though so to be careful i gated the rex into a trap while making sure not to get myself stuck in there with him and after feeding him a fair amount of biscuits he went down by then my wolf had tamed so i went and crowd him and for the rest of the night collected cementing pace from nearby rivers while staring and pondering at the moon day 15 packed up my new rex and thought there's no way this day could get any better and then i remembered that other tech wrecks i had seen a few days before was actually nearby and butter my buns if i wasn't going to safari style tame this one while i waited for this one to tame up i went to the nearby redwoods where a jerk of an adolescent dinopithecus kept trying to call the others over to beat me up so i slapped him once or twice and was back in time for the rex team ooh look at those rexes they would soon be breeding me an entire army of boss rexes and you know what every army needs a good empire to fight for so i headed down to the desert in search of land and oil veins that i could take from the current inhabitants i'm sure they wouldn't mind too much who really cares that much about control of their own oil after all as a blossoming empire i think i needed it more i also stole their desert drops all that night day 16 and i was taking a closer look at my boy big blue real nice coat of fur on that guy anyway he looked ready for some cave fighting and he was hitting hard for day one but i knew we'd get him trained up hitting for at least double that in no time eventually we hit a spot in the cave where big blue couldn't go any further and without a shotgun to give me the confidence i was not willing to press on but thanks to the legend big blue i had so much raw meat and chitin on me i had to take an rg out because of all the weight and i spent the long ride home thinking about where i could get a shotgun a really really good shotgun day 17 tried asking my chibi dire bear where he thought some good loot would be he didn't have much to say so i cut my hair and called it a day day 18 and i found quite possibly the buggiest place on the map and i'm not talking about bad code so i took my metal gathering business elsewhere day 19 and i witnessed a brutal murder in the desert i did nothing about it i did watch though the saber-tooth looked like he was hunting with the hyenadons and they just turned on him i couldn't help but think is it possible that a place so hot could be so cold and as i was looking for real estate in the desert i wondered if the whole place could be this bad day 20 and turns out the desert is all bad i watched a group of deodons murderously yet jauntingly chase amarillotops then one of them came over and tried to strong army i think he thought i'd be a witness then i found a serene lake and thought maybe this is the exception but it wasn't the exception this desert was a tough place but there was a lot of metal here so i started gathering materials for a smelting outpost and was just about to leave when i noticed this guy a cute little thing like that in a place like this i had to help him so i shot him in the face with a dart of course it looked like he woke up with quite a headache on account of the dart sticking out of his skull and he acted like he barely even felt it he told me i better call him red he was really aggressive for such a little guy but he seemed cool and my shoulder had been pretty bare thus far so we teamed up he showed me the ropes of the desert and we soon had a smelting post underway yeah despite there being death around every corner here sure was a sight worth appreciating i will not be going swimming though and i wasn't recording when i grabbed it but i finally found a decent shotgun from a yellow drop [Applause] day 21 and i continued building my oil empire i tried to take a selfie to commemorate the occasion but then a member of the desert people's coalition ran up and tried to throw a shoe at me there was a serious lack of gratitude around there i also picked up a couple movers and shakers in the world of poo day 22 and with a shotgun i was ready to start looking for a dinopithecus to tame and the strange thing about them is that they are actually insane you see in order to tame one you have to kill all their friends in front of them and then take them for a walk on the edge of death only then will they join you and this one was going well at first but i accidentally hit her while fighting back a carnal and a sarco and then finally after taming her i tested out the mechanics of this dino a bit it seemed like it would be really useful for caves and i was thinking about bringing some for the boss fight as well so i had a meeting with red and my chibi dire bear about it and we agreed it was worth a try but a fog rolled in so we wouldn't be finding her a mate any time today it was a nice fog though day 23 and i found another high level female dinopithecus things were going great definitely nothing to worry about sure i might have been attacked by a microraptor but who really worries when they get attacked by a microraptor not me that's for sure not a single spike in the heart rate nope not even when it happened again this time or this time or even this time yep so i slapped those baboon cheeks with some raw mutton and got the heck out of there day 24 and i listened to more stories from red about how strong he was because of how dangerous the desert was i wasn't buying it then we reassured the girls we'd find them a suitable buck soon but first i had to check in on my oil and the profits were there but another one of those desert people throws another shoe and i thought for a moment could it be that these desert dinos didn't want me to control their resources i dismissed that thought and then harvested their bodies for organic polymer look at all that organic polymer then i took the old elefante out for a night stroll and we gathered wood around that swimming pool from before it was beautiful and i wondered what happened to this place do empires not always last forever day 25 and quickly dismissing thoughts of any substance we laughed on the beach as we noticed my chibi dire bear looked like poo then to honor our promise we looked for a buck for those crazy ladies back at base so we went with the standard protocol and fought back any interruptions after getting a few last shots in on the dinopithecus a funny thing happened he got himself stuck in between my griffon and a small tree and i thought this is perfect he won't go wandering off into danger while i'm taming him up so i stood guard and it wasn't because it was hard not to stare i had to keep looking back to see if he was ready for another feed it wasn't because i couldn't avert my eyes and i'd like the records to show this is not how i spend most of my friday nights staring down the business end of a baboon slapping his cheeks with raw mutton chops i'm far more dignified than that and after i got back i realized i needed names for the two females so i went with seabreeze and pearl being by the ocean and all then i introduced them to the man of their dreams who wasted no time in impressing them strange yes but they are psychopaths he then went on to ask them about profoundly interesting topics such as their astrology signs and favorite colors and as they began the army building i realized i hadn't given him a name so i went with glooties but then i realized most people would end up calling him glutes and get the wrong idea about this so we went with the ancient roman version of the name gluteus and that night i went to the highlands and decided to tame him maywing so i tied him up knocked him out and watched him sleep until morning then i named him bob day 26 and we watched the sun rise next to an alpha megalodon red kept daring me to go closer he said i had to be hardcore to play hardcore or something like that i think that desert must have really messed him up and later that morning i cinematically swooped through the desert there's something so satisfying about it but while swooping i thought i saw something i did see something i figured it must be a desert labyrinth so i left because i didn't want to die that day i did really want the loot though i figured i'd come back eventually then i headed to the volcano biome to search for some magmasaur eggs i needed help robbing the desert of its metal and a magma sore would be just the tool i needed i found myself in a wyvern trench though so i got out of there i also spotted a future ally of mine playing on the beach and i was stupid enough to go for a yellow drop right beside him i don't think the pike was worth the risk to be honest but hey i finally found the magnusor nest and it had a juicy 150 in it i just have to lead them away from the eggs first inherently this had its risks but after finally getting to the eggs i found a level 20. no that couldn't be right maybe the other one was my 150. it was not so i grabbed them both out of spite she didn't like that and neither did she i even checked the other cave for that 150. even put in a death-defying dodge for it but it was a level 50. day 27 the baby magnusorn red hit it off immediately i think it was because he wasn't that smart yet and he seemed to be believing all the clearly made up stories red was telling him then i took out big blue for some quality time fiber gathering as usual he got a bit grumpy after having to swim across the channel said it was inefficient then i slapped down an industrial grinder and the cherry on top of every base the indie forge day 28 and a champion was born he had all the stats to become alpha and from him an entire generation of super monkeys would be born he would be called maximus son of gluteus and later that day i was welcomed kindly back into the desert i missed this place then on the magmasaur i got back on the metal grind as i'd need saddles gear and ammo if i was going to be prepared for a boss fight and despite being from a level 85 egg he performed his duties well so that night under the stars we decided he'd earned a name and title slam wise bamji guardian of the desert day 29 and i tamed a bunch of wolves for future breeding i'd need one imprinted if i was going to make it through the caves and that night i made it back to base in time for a full moon and the birth of gunter the wolf i'd be relying on this guy to keep me safe through many caves day 30 and they grow up so fast i was already taking a full-grown gunter out for a walk and you could say things were going swimmingly thus far you see i spotted an alpha raptor and i got a little too confident it didn't take long before gunter was showing blood i'd made a mistake and at this point there was no option to disengage i'd have to fight and probably lose gunter maybe even this challenge but i didn't because he's a fighter and he got a bunch of xp for some nice early levels which left him a little torn about the whole experience in the desert i took out a newly grown maximus this day really was about new beginnings he chewed through everyone like an absolute beast but then we were confronted by a death worm the first i'd seen in this desert i figured i'd run but maximus was showing promise i just have to get past his guard and find that sweet spot there's the sweet spot and it didn't take long before maximus found his first big victory with a lot of xp day 31 and it was time for a cave run gunter was all healed up after that raptor encounter so he took the lead i was really nervous because one bad run-in within our throw and this hardcore run would be over but i eventually got to the artifact and then ran for the door with gunter emerging as an officially successful cave spelunker we took a little victory lap to celebrate day 32 and you know what i figured it was about time to open up the ocean no empire could be taken serious without control of the seas after all so i'd need a shark and i thought i'd seen a 140 somewhere close by my base but i couldn't find it until it appeared directly behind me yeah i think underwater has got to be the scariest place in all of ark especially deep in the ocean one wrong move there there's no escape just death but i'd have to go there to get the treasure of the ocean a good fishing rod i'd have to harvest it from the stomach of the terror of the seas the alpha mosasaur i named my new shark bruce and then we headed to deeper waters those pleasant not in the least bit scary deeper waters day 33 i was on my way to pick up a shark i had tamed when i noticed a very deep looking trench and one of the greatest dangers underwater and ark is not deep trenches but your curiosity about them don't be curious on hardcore not underwater but this one just kept going i'd be really careful maybe there'd be some deep sea loot that'd be worth the risk i think i reached the bottom and i nearly landed directly on a deep sea crate and i was still being careful not the greatest loot but it was something i'd take it and go right back to the surface no looking back for me but what if there was more i should keep looking didn't seem too dangerous anyway fairly beautiful actually but i got a strange feeling here i'd gone too far and maybe it was time to turn back this shark was far too squishy and what if i ran into an alpha mosasaur or something i'd need a whale to take on one of those oh look at that an alpha mosasaur and he'd been waiting for me and had i not turned back the moment i did he would have got me that was my worst jump scare yet so that night i stood on the head of a shark while he made love under the moonlight and i contemplated human curiosity day 34 and i realized i'd need a high level whale if i was ever going to go back to that trench again so i started the tame on this one and i'd come back when it was hungry again i started day 35 with a little too much unwarranted confidence almost died to two alpha sharks but finally tamed up that whale so i'd be ready for anything the ocean threw at me oh and i named her walina i got her some levels by killing an alpha megalodon then decided she was ready for the deep it was much nicer and far more relaxing with wilena by my side on day 36 i saw an intelligence level that i'd never seen in a dinosaur before almost self-aware as he camouflaged into his surroundings i'm just lucky i was looking for him this time we engaged in hockey style combat for a while which weirdly felt like it was enraging him and at one point i decided to go back to the surface to heal and regain my stamina mosasaurs not being able to follow you to the surface as they are deep sea creatures conveniently basses heal very fast at the surface when i went back down he immediately re-engaged me that rage had been building eventually i pinned him against the wall and thought i had it in the bag but he wasn't done he soon had me at the edge of my health bar and i could tell he was close too but i couldn't risk it i had to go back up back to safety so i could heal and then come back and finish this and maybe it was his rage that overcame the rules that bound him but this beast made it to the surface for one strike almost just to tell me that here and now we'd be ending this no healing so i accepted his challenge i mean it's not often you meet a program with his own power volition he fought well and then i got my fishing rod and then i came across a twoso and of course i tamed him but even with a whale and a two so by my side the ocean would always be creepy on day 37 i pretty much just killed things with my giant squid day 38 and i found out the true dps possibilities of the dinopithecus spamming jump and ground smash with the right timing allowed for successive hits one after the other with very little cooldown as if maximus wasn't already enough of a beast and that night red and i took a little down time and tried out my new fishing rod capros can't grab you out of a canoe right on day 39 i used maximus's ledge hang to tame up a theory on day 40 i found a new fishing spot with hopes i'd get better loot than i found in the desert and under the umbrella of maximus's careful watch i felt very safe if anything were to splatter out of the murky waters to attack me i used honey for bait and as you can see it was hard to get the big fish biting because the little fish spawn out of nowhere i was doing all this fishing because i especially wanted a wreck saddle bp but i wasn't having any luck on the other loot tables and apparently not any luck on this one either on day 41 we found yet another fishing spot but the loot we found here well i'll let red sum it up i even went through a nearby cave with gunter to try to find something good and then that night while i was looking over all the loot i'd probably never use i spotted a manigamer being a bully he did look pretty strong and then i realized i don't think i've ever safari tamed a man of garmer before i don't know exactly why i did it mana garmers are mainly used for pvp maybe the challenge of doing it with a crossbow enticed me it had its difficulties but eventually he joined the team on day 42 i named the mana garmsi boy and when i saddled him up back at base i noticed red had started wearing a bandana and sunglasses he insisted it wasn't to look tough in front of garmsi boy but it obviously was he also tried to claim their species were related in some way i checked out the swamp cave with maximus and learned that his ground slam doesn't affect anything airborne he's still got that slap though eventually i'd get the artifact and take a look around and realize this is a really nice cave it even had an underground pine forest i liked it so much i wanted to see another cave on this very same day and then in my excitement i cryo-sicked maximus i never cryo-sicked a dino-pithecus before so i had no idea how long it would take for him to wake up so i collected drops for the rest of the night and contemplated the mysteries of the moon day 43 i gave maximus some stims and made a little noise to try to wake his monkey butt up [Music] but turns out it was a good thing i didn't go in there the previous night i reached a point where maximus was too tall to go any further so it was time for the gunter [Music] gunter was a good boy at this point his caving skills sure were coming along we made it to the artifact of the skylord and then we found the mangiest lighting in all of ark day 44 i killed an alpha t-rex in cold blood then dove the aberration cave with maximus he did his jumpy smashy thing we also squeezed in time for a selfie in another underground forest and then on a slightly normal day in a slightly normal cave i found brilliance that wreck saddle bp would give me a chance in the boss fight and we were happy maximus even jumped for joy i grabbed the artifact of the strong and we called it a cave i hung the artifacts up high to let the boss know we'd be coming for him day 45 and a mutated rex emerge with some really nice colors i'd call her bumblebeena and she became my go-to rex and that night i worked on building the base i wanted it to stand out as somewhere special in this mad world eventually i'd need more fiber for the construction so big blue and i went out for a night run and that's when i realized what needed to be built first for some quality of life day 46 as with all great endeavors of mankind in order to make this world more beautiful we had to destroy some ocean habitat after all nothing says empire building quite like smashing a little coral reef in the morning unfortunately that pesky stuff always seems to grow back anyway i had to line up this bridge just right it was gonna be beautiful big blue oversaw the project as lead architect so he was responsible for final inspection he had a sharp eye that big blue really knew how to appreciate fine craftsmanship he was a tough critic though he said the color was off and when it came to colors that guy was a broken record i'll let you guess what he thought it should be i told him i'd get to the color eventually but for now we just name the bridge and move on and i did give it a stress test great craftsmanship in the morning of day 47 i did something to write some of my past wrongs you see this mammoth had provided many stacks of wood and many beautiful moments and with all that he deserved a beautiful name so we went with marv then i finished painting the bridge and big blue loved it then i took maximus and explored caves that i didn't have to go into yet but i figured i'd get ahead of schedule on the artifact list and a little extra loot wouldn't hurt day 48 i figured i'd need a ud for the upcoming boss fight so i tamed one after a few moments of terror of course and then not because i needed one but because my empire needed the status i'd have to tame a 145 giga and i don't usually do this safari style but i screwed up the trap so i went with it at this point i babysat him and killed pretty much anything that came close i did that all night and then i got him i started day 49 by showing off my giga then i took him for a jog but i put him away so i could spend the day with big blue i needed to train him because he insisted on being included in the upcoming boss fight i tried to tell him there'd be no bugs in this arena so he wouldn't get his buff and would most likely die but he said he didn't fear death and was more afraid of despawning in an unused and unloved cryopod one day so we kept training through the rain and all night we crossed the entire desert and killed every death worm we came across because he wasn't afraid of death but i was determined to keep him alive on day 50 i made it my goal to find a lady for big blue he'd need little ones to carry on his legacy in the event of well anyway i searched the redwoods but they were all low level and same in the snow biome too day 51 big blue was still healing from all the deathworm fights he was hanging out with marv admiring his bridge red told me that if i wanted to find the strongest megatheriums i'd have to go to the toughest neighborhood on the map so i went to the desert and i found them but there were only males i was almost ready to give up on this quest for big blues legacy but on day 52 i found her in the redwoods and i stood by her while she tamed no dino would ruin this moment not a single one maximus helped me make sure of that and then after a little more waiting we got her and i named her lady they hit it off immediately and marv watched day 53 i harvested hide all day i would need a ton to make these wreck saddles then i took a break from all that hide harvesting and took another walk i woke up early trying to catch the sunrise but the clouds obstructed my view i did however find these cute ducks the real world has such nice graphics actually that would be a really nice comment to leave it's got a be a good comment too on day 54 i lined up my dinopithecus army maximus had worked very hard to prepare them for me then i found an underwater cave with a couple squids in it there was supposed to be good loot there i mainly found squids eventually i found one but it was clipping into the mesh so i couldn't open it and then another with an expensive fab uvp and then more squids a lot more squids all these squids left my nerves on edge so i found a nice little spot at the bottom of the ocean to relax in day 55 was another entire day of hide harvesting day 56 big blue had another daughter and this time with a color mutation so i named her sky then i gathered metal all day for wreck saddles and that night i got more rex's ready day 57 and i took maximus to the desert to train the boss fight would be coming up soon and i wanted him to be ready as he would be my mount and if you're in the desert training then you're killing death worms and then eventually we spotted three in a row and i thought that would be crazy if maximus took on three at a time absolutely crazy and it was crazy because his helmet broke and then he almost died i mean we almost died so i gave him my helmet and if he was gonna be my mount in the upcoming boss fight and the leader of my armies he'd have to finish this and then he did in the desert that day he earned his official title leader of the armies of the empire he had every character attribute necessary when we got back to base he gave a speech to his baboon army they were all ears perked up at attention the entire time and i say speech but it was more like the ramblings of a madman as they are dinopithecus and respond best to sheer insanity i'd need to harness that insanity in the upcoming boss fight and even red got a couple tough guy phrases in to motivate them day 58 i spent a while healing my rexes with the snow owl big blue had another little one and i named him big brown it was nice his legacy was growing then i spent the night on a relaxing canoe ride day 59 i uncryo'd all the boss dinos so they'd be ready for the fight soon and then i hung out with some of the old dinos back at base as i thought this might be the end of my run on day 60 i started packing up the artifacts i'd need for the boss fight but when i got to this one i realized this was supposed to be artifact of the pack when clearly it was not so i cried blueberry one of big blue's daughters and headed for the cave her father would be proud to see such a sight gunter finished up where she couldn't go and in not too long we were on our way next stop would be the gamma boss fight maximus looked like he was leading strong that guy was a natural i called the dino king out with a shot then quickly ran out of the way of his jump slam attack and maybe this was my first mistake but i whistled all aggro here i'd rotate between using my shotgun and going in for close range ground slams maybe those were my second mistake i saw some damage numbers and i had to go see it was big blue and it didn't look good without his buff he was taking big damage and he was barely doing any i helped him as much as i could but i had to get back to the fight the first death was my ut we had the boss to about half health but we'd have to go forward with no buffs from here and go forward we did it was going well but wouldn't you know he's got this thing where he puts his hands in the air then he slams the ground and dismounts you i thought i was dead and then i made it to bumblebeena just in time i figured i'd be safe on top of a rex no no no no no no no he was so close i couldn't die not now then i started getting hit from behind i had to get on a dyno and then it was done but where was big blue with only a third of his health left he almost didn't make it but i was really happy to see him day 61 i had a flag and was now officially an empire although i'd have to finish off the beta and alpha dino king to eliminate any who would contest my rule in the morning of day 62 i destroyed more of that pesky coral that kept growing around my base and indulged myself on the ingenuity of my empire but i started thinking maybe there's ways to gather resources even faster so i tamed one of the desert people a mantis his friends immediately accused him of being a turncoat for joining my side i wanted to see which one of my resource gatherers he could replace so we started with stone he sucked at stone he could gather it all right but he couldn't hold much weight i named him jim and after failing at a couple other resources we figured we'd try hide next i was always in need of hyde he proved he was capable of harvesting the hide with the axes after first killing a parasaur but if he was gonna be my hyde guy he'd have to take down something a little more substantial than a parasaur and i don't mean a trike he'd have to take down the big boy brontos to prove himself and wouldn't you know he failed at that too you see i found out the hard way that a mantis takes big damage from each step of bronto takes and honestly i'm not sure how i got out of this alive one look at the health bar and i thought we were legally dead we were one stomp away from being squished like bugs and with no health and no stamina i was worried that still might happen so we ran and after creating some space i thought it'd be best if i healed jim up a bit a run-in with anything else aggressive and that'd be the end of us but jim here was angry even tried to kill a nearby pt to let off some steam and then he failed at that too as i was healing him i noticed his axe was almost broken so i gave him my pick and that seems to be all that was missing because the next time he reached out and struck a rock in frustration it felt different he cleaved right through them gathering flint like butter and this flint gathering really buttered his buns the stacks of flint barely put any weight on his skinny little legs it was glorious watching him do what he does best and you could see his confidence bursting it was a special moment atop that rocky hill because we both realized at the same time his name wasn't jim his name was flint flint eastwood i think in life you're not always good at everything you try but if you keep trying new things one day you find your flint and in the future with the right tools and more experience you might even end up good at those other things too so never be afraid to look around and swing a pic at something new on day 63 i proudly hung my artifacts took marv on a massive wood run and wouldn't you know flint found out he's amazing at thatch too i was bursting with inspiration so i destroyed more coral in my elation i did that all day through on day 64 i saw life had beauty in the little things and sometimes they've been trying to catch you so the lesson is to slow down take it in if you enjoy life you already can't help but win and while having fun i had no clue what to do so i dove a cave with that big and beautiful blue on day 65 the feelings of inspiration had faded but where inspiration ends determination begins and i was determined to face this cave i heard there were magma sores inside of it so i practiced on one outside but when i got in none of the mobs were spawning it was completely empty so i took the artifact and left but i had prepared myself for some danger this day so i headed to the wyvern trench and despite swoopy not being the best griffin i felt like if i was careful i could get an egg i'd have to find one with a decent level of course not a 25 or a 60. i saw a 185 and i figured i'd settle with that day 66 and i killed things underwater with my giant squid also i barely found any loot [Music] on day 67 i was extremely nervous about what i'd have to do next the desert labyrinth i was specifically looking for a saddle for big blue i was determined to keep him alive i was also on the market for a shotgun for myself i was always on the market for a better shotgun but in this case i settled for a very nice fabby not bad for a first run also you may have noticed i used my maywing bob to navigate the labyrinth he was very useful i figured with him i would be able to come here every few days to check out the labyrinth for more loot and then on my return to base i did some damage tests with my fabi i also used it as an opportunity to execute some thieves on the edge of my empire i was especially a fan of the crit damage then i hung out with gunter in a nice and colorful cave the fights were nice but the loot was not and then at the end of the day i found a little something for big blue things were really looking up at this point on day 68 i wanted to start raising that wyvern so i'd need some milk and for the milk i need a trap and hey there's a wyvern in the trap so i knocked it out and took its milk and then i gave its milk to my little baby wyvern she had a nice orange and gray color to her i named her old bessie and took flynn out for the rest of the night that guy was back up to peak confidence on day 69 i took slam wise out for some metal marvel for some wood and finished up some old projects around the base i'd been meaning to get to and some new projects like a patio on the upper levels and torches everywhere i wanted this place to sparkle and sparkle it did but it wasn't finished because i continued the building into day 70. railings railings and more railings but you know a wise man once said it ain't a nice base if it ain't got nice railings 71 i took old bessie out to find some of the tributes i still needed for the beta boss fight then i got a cool segway shot and another of ol bessie under the moon on day 72 i was still only in need of the basilisk scales so i went to the volcano biome and pretty much searched all day until i finally found two of them i'd use my griffin for the fight as i was afraid of their poison gas hitting me if i went to the ground and then their poison gas hit me anyway luckily i flew out of it as i was on the griffin i took one down but the last one kind of flipped out on me day 73 i hit up the labyrinth in the morning and then found a little present for my guy flint he definitely had more experience and now the right tools we just need a good challenger for the flint shank redemption because i gave him a shank and his name is flint it's a good enough working title for now anyway he had been waiting for this moment played it through over and over in his head it even had him a little nervous but he came out swinging with some damage numbers he never thought possible and we were smarter now too we stepped aside for the stomping and position flint for the one final strike [Applause] he had done it and for the first time he looked out at the world no longer is one who gets trampled by bronto foot but is one who collects bronto hide a frail mantis from the desert had come so far though being from the desert he knew there'd be that one final test the only way to ascend as a legend and on day 74 he set out to do just that with those big numbers coming out the start we knew there was nothing that could take this from flint that is until the sword broke and we were not doing big numbers anymore i scrambled to find something to give him the axe would have to do but it quickly broke as well the pick would have to do the trick and it did we had a meeting after flint's ascension to legendary and we discussed what would be next for him he said he wanted to be a motivational speaker to his people of the desert and that got me thinking i had to do some motivational speaking that's right it was time to prepare my army of rexes for battle i made quite the entrance by giving them all air high fives as i couldn't reach their stubby little arms they loved it though it made them feel special and they were special because they were the team of rex's that would bring my empire of victory over the beta dinopithecus king so i stood atop big blue and told them all a story or two and i think it worked because on my way out i saw a victory in all their eyes on day 75 i crow sick my rexes at blue ob to stay ahead of schedule then i went to the desert where i became the law incarnate for such a lawless place and that night i contemplated what exactly that meant on day 76 i made sure all the artifacts and tributes were in order for the boss fight i'm glad i did it because they weren't in order i still needed the artifact of the hunter so i went and got that then on day 77 i remembered that my yuri died in the previous boss fight so i'd need to replace him only this time i wanted a mate boosted pair and the first one i came across seemed to be needing some help from a pack of wolves i just happened to have a nice fabby rifle on hand as well and believe it or not the ud showed no appreciation for that but she was still convinced eventually to join the team i'm also not sure on which update it happened but at some point the uds got this glitch on their tail it did get annoying at times but i sought as some sort of eccentric personality trait or something and they both had it so they were kind of strange together and funny enough this was my first time ever taking yuri's out by the pair i should have done it a long time ago because they kind of suck on their own but with the buffs and the mate boosting they really strengthen each other and after fighting their way through the forest for a while i couldn't help but see the poetry in it all they were a pair of glitchy messes but they had each other's back we fought until we hit the edge of the world and i named one jack and the other diane and that night under the moon they worked on making a new generation of glitchy love babies on day 78 jack and diane fought death worms all day they needed to be as strong as possible for this fight because i only had basic saddles for them and i didn't want their love story to end in tragedy on day 79 i squeezed in one last run through the labyrinth i was hoping for something nice but after finding nothing it felt like this next boss fight i was still heading straight into a wall on day 80 i added the uds to the rexes at the blue ob and i readied my nerves i also stacked big blue with a bunch of veggie cakes i wasn't sure if they'd help but it was something maximus came out looking solid as usual with the gamma boss already under our belt he knew the drill but this time we called out the dino king with our shot so that he wouldn't land on all the rexes it was a solid way to start i thought i'd also be keeping my distance this time as i didn't want to get close and dismounted again the first casualties were of course the dino pithecus i only brought a couple this time [Music] one of the yuri's let out a mighty roar to keep the damage up but shortly after jack went down and my heart sank to see big blue [Music] i thought with all the training in the saddle that i had him ready but now no matter what i had to take this monkey down i rallied everyone on him and i had to just keep shooting almost at half health but he got dianne i'd be going forward with no buffs and no uds at this point and then the rexes started to drop i'd be lying if i said that didn't make me nervous but i just had to keep shooting [Music] we were getting closer so i rallied everyone again we had to finish this [Music] but then he got bumble beena and i knew i was in trouble she was my strongest rex i had to just keep shooting [Music] and then all of a sudden it felt like all eyes were on me that was my last wrecks i saw nothing but claws and teeth my heart was racing so fast i barely noticed him jump out of the mix to start throwing bombs from above [Music] maximus was holding strong but i knew that one of those bombs would dismount me and that would be the end and then he appeared from above and readied the jump that would finish me only it didn't the silence was deafening everyone was dead and we were alone in the arena that silence it hurt was empire building always stacked with bricks made of pain red told me i was being soft and that there'd be no room for sentimentality if i was going to beat the alpha king but i took one look at maximus and i knew i wasn't the only one full of rage there was something in his eyes something welling up from deep within and this dino pithecus that didn't make it into the fight wouldn't understand what me and maximus had to do next we had some steam to let off my heart was still pounding inside my chest and i still couldn't believe i lost everyone and it seemed like maximus felt the same way only he appeared to feel it even more intensely than i did [Music] but as we got to the coast i realized that maximus was actually just a bit backed up he felt nothing he actually got a bit of a kick out of it remember he is a psychopath who collects poop and checking his poop collection we saw his helmet was very close to breaking we almost didn't make it out of there we got lucky and though maximus was just a dino and felt nothing i was still a human and i still missed big blue i honestly wondered how i'd recover from a full boss dino wipe to be ready to fight alpha in 20 days seemed impossible but i had to try on day 81 i made a list of things i needed to focus on for the next 20 days there was no room for wasted time level the rexes make the saddles get the artifacts and tributes and a better shotgun and that night we lit up big blue bridge to remember those who had fallen between day 82 and 97 i did a lot of the same thing i worked out a system where i would take groups of four or five rexes to fight death worms this made for very quick fights and lots of levels for the rexes and even reds started doing damage during the fights and when i asked why if he was the strongest dino in the desert it was only eight damage he said it was because the death worm were accidentally touching the tip of his whiskers and that he wasn't attacking at all i tamed a deodon for passive heals during all these fights and named her missy and tamed another and named him harold i found it easier to be on the deodon during the fights to keep it from taking too much damage i also did a lot of hide runs with my imprinted theory and squeezed in more renovations at the base if i was gonna get this new group of rex's to fight and die for me i'd have to propagandize them with a strong sense of culture i fought so many deathworms i started finding satisfaction in the little things like the way the damage numbers look like fireworks in the sky and that reminded me i'd need to get fireworks later to convince the rexes of our culture and while staring at the number fireworks in the sky i couldn't help but notice a full moon don't worry i'll see myself out eventually i'd make my way into the poop your pants artifact cave it was full of traps and nasty jump scares but those weren't the reason that i nearly pooped my pants i nearly did because that's a baryonyx and on my way out of the cave my game decided to freeze right beside him while i was underwater it was 15 seconds of sheer terror because it was day 95 and if a baryonyx gets you underwater it is a certain death i scrambled the moment it unfroze and felt lucky to be alive moment i doubted whether i had seen him or not but he popped out and reassured me that i had with a sigh of relief i placed the artifact of the massive and the artifact of the devious then i checked on my rexes who were now substantially leveled and fully healed and if anyone was interested here's a look at all the blueprints i gathered over the last 96 days it took me a while to find the sunken ship with the last artifact on it and when i got there i noticed three mosasaurs sneakily waiting for a unsuspecting survivor to dismount around them but i had seen them and i had a squid so i dealt with them the way that every squid does and then made my way to the artifact of the devourer when i returned i hastily placed it on its pedestal and after taking a moment to marvel at my completed set i got ready for the night's festivities and i wore blue to honor my fallen friend i figured we'd start the night with an air show it would display the military prowess of our fully blossomed empire and for reasons i think obvious i changed the color of some torches around the base with every pass i could see these rexes were eating it up and i'd need them to i would need these fools i mean great citizens to fight and die so that i could become alpha and to get them to do that i gave them a motivational speech and by now i was good at it really work the stage you gotta keep your audience captivated if you want them to die for you and most people only pace back and forth but i came up with this little jump too and then the fireworks even i was feeling those no wrecks would be able to resist the feel-good tingles from these puppies but then as the flares came down i couldn't help but be distracted by noticing that pesky coral had grown back though still the night was an inspiring one even gunter and flint made it out flint was now a professional motivational speaker he said my speech was great he also said he had the island booked next week for one of his shows titled flint ain't nothing to shake a pick at but he said it shouldn't bother me because i'd be dead and there's no way i'd beat the alpha it wasn't very motivational kind of treasonous actually i'd consider his execution on my return for now i'd get marv's help to send off the festivities with some gunshots in the air i'd tell the rexes they were symbolic of something or other at this point they'd believe anything as the sun rose i gathered the rexes and brought them over to red ob where i cryosect them to get them ready for the final fight then i thought about what i should do with this last day before the rex's wake up so i figured i'd go swooping and appreciate the hard work of the people that created this map [Applause] after a day's swooping on a great beast with the head and wings of an eagle in the body of a lion i perched atop a tall rock in the middle of the desert and wondered whether i had done all i could do to prepare for this upcoming fight and i guess you could say i was a bit nervous on the morning of day 99 this day would be the day we live or die succeed or fail [Music] but i was ready i got in there and it was straight down to business no time for emotion here maximus now led with the strength of a thousand psychopaths and with the power of fully motivated super rex's we should have this one but we'd have to fight as a united group and i just have to focus on shooting right from the start dps it was a good start it felt like we had him down in health pretty quick [Music] the first death was a ud one of jack and diane's kids i think didn't let it faze me though had to keep shooting and as was expected the next ut died but still focusing on shooting was of the utmost importance i had no time for feelings with this new group of dinos they were tools of the empire i had to be a stronger leader just like red said and this fight to become alpha of the lost island would take great leadership [Music] but then all at once a bunch of rexes started going down [Music] and a bunch more but so was his health so it didn't matter we would fight in the reign of his grenades until he was dead i just had to keep shooting but then i killed one of the amargosauruses and i think it was his rider that threw this poop at me it was a crappy move because it kept me from shooting at the boss for a while then he killed another rex but it was fine i was clear of the poop and back in the fight and i figured i still had plenty of rexes only after this one died it felt like everyone started attacking me could that have been my last one i thought so i jumped out of the fray of the fight to take a look around and it seemed those ungrateful rexes even after all the culture i gave them didn't fight hard enough now i was on my own all the poop was heavy it drew me off balance and my target was far away this moment felt so familiar my heart was beating just like before just keep shooting i thought and so i did then maximus's helmet broke and he started losing health fast and when he died i knew i'd miss him but for now i found myself in a moment and i thought these fangs would not be the last sight i ever let myself see no i had him in my sights and i'd finish it right here but i guess sometimes the only thing finished is my hundred day run i never did get that shotgun and i guess every empire has to fall one day i suppose you can kind of count on that and i suppose there's one other thing you can always count on and that is that so long as you've got buttered buns there will always be another full moon [Music] and legend has it that upon my death red jumped off my shoulder and in one strike finished off the dinopithecus king he then took control of the island and the empire and with one of their own on the throne peace came to the desert no shoes were ever thrown again
