hey guys Jonathan here and I'm at maker Central the UK's biggest maker creator event there's loads of handmade tools here British made tools some things you're never going to see at any other tool Fair there's a lot of stands there's a lot of creations and there's a lot of creators here that you might recognize and some of you don't recognize we're on another quirky tool hunt let's see what we can find let's go talk to Colin fur as well he's here that's how mental it is let's go and have a look [Music] oh here we go it's something I didn't expect to see at the show mango chiv de beas I've just put one of these in our tools from around the world panel this is Israel made but I didn't know there was all these different types I can't even see the one that we've got hello you I've seen you yesterday on a YouTube video and I was like we've got those got those in fact You' got an older version of this right okay it looks very similar the handle like the same like style it but with this one yeah oh that's handy isn't it and you can also put the bits in the back as well yeah nice is that just to make it easier to like take a deur off down a pipe or something so when you take it off you can take it off completely yeah yeah now you put it in the hand and you'll feel you got more finesse when you're deuring stuff yeah yeah that's quite a nice little mechanism that it you use the handle if you really want to do a nice big bur so with this you just gives it a bit more finesse so you've got control over it that's what the difference is of that and again it's adjustable that's the newest versions you've got all different versions we' got all the different versions We got the this is the the aluminium version and then here these special bonus packs we're doing yeah you got all the different styles of blades and they're all coated as well right so doing all different things and one of the best things we got here for this show utility knife that's not just a utility knife this is a ceramic blade right for doing 3D printing we're doing shampers taking the sharp Corners off and 3D printing is everywhere at the minute isn't it everyone's doing it we have sold already sold out of all these today just alone with the blades and because I saw your video the other day yeah you were doing that giveaway for five yeah yeah you can have five of these to giveway some of your subscribers or a competition you like to do I didn't even have to ask you didn't didn't even have to ask and this is for you personally Happy Days what's it is this is this thing amazing you put that in a new bit of Shadow fill and it's also got the blade in there as well it's also got standing knife blade so you can use it as a standing knife as well you want to do the back end and the blades in there yeah and these are Nifty little things aren't they these little pocket De Beers cuz that's like something you can just have in your pouch with you and just they also again you can put the blades in the back and they also are changeable as well so they're not you know they're not disposable they do they are disposable brilliant so if you want one of these you know what to do just drop a comment subscribe we'll put a link in the description extreme plasma so what's the website extrem plasma.com and we also specialized in plasma cutting tables that's our speciality as well right okay brilliant nice one well thanks very much for these if you want one drop a comment subscribe to the channel Go and show some love to extreme plasma we'll put the link in the description Happy Days thanks very much thank you very much see you again take [Music] care now that is a British made tool that we could do with including bit of a beasty thing and I know Paul who made it too got to cut that into some phone or maybe not let's have a look at his actual mallets over here it's a proper job British made handy little thing we'll have to talk to Paul though and he looks very busy he's been making mini mallets with kids all day he's been flat out I think we'll have pop back to see [Music] him another toolbox out in the wild what we like to see Trend Pro transit system I'm being a bit nosy really I shouldn't really shouldn't really be going through someone else's toolbox but the Trend Pro transit system is nice it all connects together they've got the different widths they've got drawers any toolbox system with draws is good in my books we do have inserts for these already on the website because they were very simil profile it's not the same to the CU brick and ox but obviously the trend stuff got its own little USBS and quirks we yet to do a full matchup compare them all so I don't know the full ins and outs of the details but I know it's a very comprehensive system and we do do the inserts for them maybe we should organize all of these tools in one of the trend boxes but let's keep [Music] looking another tool at the show is it Tom no the wheelbarrow this is the Bell willbo yeah absolutely that's been the MVP this has sold some merchandise so this weekend I said to Colin I need to sell some merchandise and he said well you know my Shop's quite busy I thought well I ain't got time to build a shop so I'll just stick it well he he suggested a wheelie bin yeah and I thought well I'll put it in a wheelbarrow the wife was here yesterday sold all the hats all the t-shirts obviously cuz it's quite warm today yeah all I'm left with is a few hoodies so unfortunately they look nice they look nice hoodies unfortunately that's all you're going to get is a hoodie can people get this Merch online though Tom they can if you go on my Instagram yeah the link for the shop is in the bio right and it'll be in our description links in the description if you want a Tom lamb he's a farmer hoodie I've got some new designs coming out very soon that I've been working on I don't go too mad with a merchandise cuz I'm only a small little brand or whatever doing my little farming videos compared to coling anyway but you know every little bit like this just helps so it's all good say that but you've done a lot of digging in that bunker oh I've got a lot more to do yeah I'm not sure how we're going to do it yet because the garage has got to be deeper than my Digger can dig so we might have to like either get a bigger Digger but I don't think I'll be able to because the BT lines are overhead so I think what we're going to have to do I'm not doing that and the wheelbarrow heading game no no I do not like manual labor no so what I think we're going to do I think we'll get like a mini Digger and then we'll use the bigger Digger to lift the mini Digger into the hole and then the little digger can pass the rubble to the bigger Digger and then the bigger Digger can take out and put it in the trailer I'm looking forward to seeing it and you'll be in the videos won't you well I love seeing you popping up in the first tunnel builds whenever there's a bit of digging going on Colin's got a big project coming up in the next couple of weeks he has built it it's big and it's round and he has made one many years ago it's going underground it's just no it's not going underground it's in a barn and he has built one before that's all I'm allowed to say but it's going to be a good video sounds like the old Power Tool wall might be in that video then if it's in the barn oh yes yeah oh you will yeah you will see it yeah yeah he said about having some foam in the bunker and we're just on standby you know when Callin KNX we'll come calling and sort the uh since I met you all those years ago the foam business must be exploding with people doing well with foam everywhere every Booth's got a bit of foam on it so spreading the word it's good you've done very well yeah but I don't think I'll be wearing that jump It's roasting in here no wear it in the winter keep it for the winter time thanks very much much cheers see you again next year [Music] I see something strew my eye straight away in the wild another Shadow foam in the wild so when we built that it was a 14 piece kit we've actually got this like smaller eight piece kit which has got pretty much everything you need to get started for 400 quid plus how many batteries three batteries that is not bad is it can't get one of those though no space in the F let's keep going [Music] this looks a cool looking thing fresh made thing it's made by me invented by me yeah it all stems from a Eureka moment it's a moment when I thought there must be an easier way to sharpen a chisel yeah yeah and I came up with this so This Is My Idea that came out of my head and when I made it I brought it in and my daughter happened to see it I said Daddy what do you made there and I said oh it's a sharpener so can you show me so I said you put your chisel in like this and you do this and it sharpens it she said well that's clever can I have a go and I went oh dear you're 12 years old left-handed and you're a girl you've never sharpened a chisel in your life this could be disastrous okay we'll try it we'll give it a go okay you try it like this she left-handed now yeah yeah and I'm my daughter okay oh this is easy daddy she said and the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end so from that I then ended up with a patent but I realized that's not for everybody because not all chisels are different bevels exactly now we have Diamond files that are held on magnetically rather than stuck on yeah yeah yeah we get four different Diamond Stones in the kit so you got extra course up to extra fine amazing then you set the angle to suit the tool that you're sharpening so I want 30° here yeah yeah for my plane blade that is amazing so put that in Center everything up small pressure slide and sharpen and that's how difficult it is and just consistent all the way across rather than like putting a round on it and amazing that is really really good you know typical thing with a chisel is you kind of like hit a nail or a bit of metal and you put a chunk in it what would you do then you can use the um the backing off tool yeah which you can then flatten the back yeah and then transfer it to the tool got you've got that you've got the flat then you'll sharpen it the side of that this is not a grinding tool this is only a sharpening tool but you could grind out back to a a smooth and then put it on this to get the absolutely you'll be back sharp again very quickly really really clever I like it I like the fact that you've gone from that iteration to this and it's like an injection mold made in the UK is it yes yes so it's all made in Wilshire just to show off how big it can go that becomes a manageable tool it's a different angle so I'm going to change the angle pinch that off and then Center everything up small pressure slide and sharpen amazing you don't even have to look at what you're doing no no I'm left-handed again how sharp is it that sharp so how much is one £40 40 quid that's for the show special yeah so normally £48 but at the show we're doing it for £40 and where'd you get it from for anyone who's watching the video where to get one you get it online yeah at www.g tools.com and we'll put a link in the description as always if you want one but I will take one now thank you 40 quid sounds like a deal thanks very much you're [Music] welcome gyro car seen this I'm sure I've seen a short video about this amazing knife I'll show you how it works yeah let's a a rotating blade like this yeah and you literally just use it like a pen you can cut all different sorts of material starting at paper and card and then we do blades all the way up to even lever denim Boler wood all that sort of stuff and it just cuts go crazy um we also use our glue on the mat as you can see the paper's slightly stuck down yeah but it stops any of it moving and it leaves no residue Afters like a poit note yeah yeah that's cool makes it a little bit easier yeah so how much are these so it comes with either two blades at the show is 22 or you can go for all three of our different blades is 30 for the whole set so that would be deep blade is for like leather and thicker stuff right but you choose the blades really got yeah and you had a metal version right so yeah we've just brought out an full metal version as well it's just like a sort of extra special version for the professionals and stuff it comes with all of our blades are tungsten carbide anyway but this one comes with a standard tungsten carbide blade as well so you'll get at least 12 months of regular use that each blade so really really long start can it cut Shadow foam that is the test and see actually brought some Shadow foam yeah can it cut this is our deep blade so I'll give it a go but I'm not sure if it will go all the way through cuz obviously the foam can be quite deep but like 5 Ms worth of blade on isn't it so you just draw around like that and then you can just peel it off and I'm not sure it's gone through a it's gone through the layer maybe it be good for Logos or something yeah yeah but even a template like this if you wanted to do like a perfect circle we we'd be able to work something out cuz you can see the imprint there where it's cut so cutting a perfect circle of any other knife is impossible but look at that one go not far off there are you yeah I think you've got me sold that is a very relevant demonstration for me 20 and how much is the aluminum one so it's 20 yeah 30 with all three Blades of the standard and then the the XTR version is 50 so 20 more but they cost a lot a lot of money to make these as you bet a look at it really nice heavy tool it was all invented by my grandfather he invented many many things yeah very very clever man yeah I love it what was his name Edward Harvey yeah Edward Harvey invented it I'll have one I'll have this one y I'll get it sorted for you right so if I buy these be a bit cheeky if I buy these yeah have you seen the videos we do with the giveaways I have we do fives that's a magic number reckon we could try and get five of these for our giveaway we'll get that sorted for you yeah so if you want one of these it's already getting pretty good and it'll come with all three blades as well we'll do the full set with all three blades and a glue as a giveaway those that is epic that is amazing thanks very much so where can those at home find this so you can either get it on our website which is Crafty products .co.uk all of our Instagram Tik Tok YouTube is@ Crafty products and you'll find us on there we'll put the links in the description go and check those out thanks very much thanks mate nice to meet you [Music] thanks change of scenery jump down Collins tunnel let's get some foam on the walls oh not quiet back on the tool hunt the inventor's Workshop book I've got to of this already tell everybody what it is so the inventor Workshop it's all about 10 inventions that changed the world and the workshops that they were created in the pictures are absolutely stunning Stacy Thomas did some incredible illustrations but also so much to learn so much to find out about the Journey of how things were made love it any tools in there there's a few there's a few for like navigation GPS Wi-Fi there's stuff that then LED on to you know that we need it and also you like this cuz they're Workshop spreads I feel like you'll appreciate that maybe they're not as organized as your usual stuff the illustrations are amazing like I say I've got two copies of this already my kids have both got a copy already and the pictures are incredible there's lots of little details you've got to kind of go through it a few times to pick up on everything I proof read this multiple times and I still find things there was a girl that came up today to have a copy and she was like I've been finding pigeons and I was like I didn't even realize that was a thing amazing so we're doing a bit of a giveaway I'm not going to ask for five of these cuz I want to support the new book and if you want one we'll put a link in the description you go and get one from Amazon where else yeah an independent Bookshop so we've got Sophie from hills bookshops here so you can buy them independent bookshops online yeah yeah go for it so independent bookshops first Then followed by Amazon yeah yeah we'll put links in the description below and uh yeah if we can get five copies and if you can going to be cheeky and ask you to sign them sign them and if you want one drop a comment down below let me know have you already got a copy of the book do you want any of these tools let me know which is your favorite and then you'll be entered it's a simp is that is that the five there you go amazing I'll swap you for one of our folding rulers thanks I've always wanted one of these you need that in your Workshop I like it thanks very much R thank you right so it's looking a bit busy best's get back to the booth make sure they're all [Music] right now we can't be looking at quirky tools that make Central and not look at our booth we don't exhibit at many shows well we only exhibit at one show and that is a maker Central show this is our booth let me show you the setup firstly we've got Mark peach peach tree crafting on the booth doing demonstrations showing how it all works he's been cutting and peeling the foam all day loads of crowds watching the process and it's great actually to just toce people's reactions how easy it is I don't think they truly believe it until they see it this is one of our demo boxes this is in a video coming soon you might recognize these the Magnum quirky tools we're not going to include them in our makeer Central quirky tools and I cut that liner nine times before the show I was up till 2:00 in the morning the night before the show getting all of these CAU in all the different colors so anyone on the stand can see all the bright vibrant colors we do I also mounted a TV screen put a little video on there that explains how it works and this whole box just rolled in so that was a lovely little build nipping through quirky tools panel video went up last week check that out we'll put a link here if you want to go and watch that and that's all my favorite tools from around the world but mainly Europe there's only a few from around the world there's a couple from the US one from Australia one from Israel couple from Taiwan most of it was from Europe though and the 100K came a couple of weeks ago and we put it in foam as we said we would moving along we got the Milwaukee hand tool panel Makita handol panel that video isn't out yet there was a lot of prep for this show few videos that we've not even posted yet but I had to do the Makita hand tools review and then another one of these boxes and this one this is a full tool kit one in every color including this Beast so this is the kinetic Customs WRA 150 quid but made in the UK aluminium Hammer all handmade in glossup and they sent us this for the pink tool kit which is another video coming soon and that one's going to be auctioned for breast cancers and is pretty full on and let me show you the inside scoop this is the stock room we're halfway through day two this room was full of retail packs and we've got less than a third I would say left I can't believe it all the people walking off with value packs I thought we were going to be shipping them all home but everyone's taking them and they're all nearly gone we've only got 20 left 25 and we had probably over 100 so there we go time for a lie down I think now I'm [Music] [Music] knocking so we can't talk quy tools without talking about our own shadow foam quirky tool which is a foam smoothing spinner now made in the UK by Brothers make hello how we doing these Legends make it you talk us through the process a bit absolutely Matt do you want to start with the mold yeah so this is our injection molding machine and in order to injection mold our recycle plastic into it we need an injection mold and this has taken us quite a long time to get this right but we finally managed to do it and that allows us to mold multiple spiners at once all out of recycled plastic which looks a little bit like this we obviously add a load of red or the bit of Shadow foam Brown and color in there and actually this is how they turn out really cool little marbled color so half the plastic is plastic that's been recycled time and time again got little box down here you can see so anything that doesn't work we put back into recycling so all of these were made out of five 10 times recycle plastic cut a bit of red as well this is where the red comes from celebration TS there you go so inside of secrets that is now it's not just smoothing Spinners that Matt and Johnny make they actually make all kinds of amazing stuff from all kinds of recycled plastic and they've been all over the world these guys making stuff and helping other people learn how to make stuff too you can actually do it now in your own garage and set up your own business and there's a whole Community doing this stuff and it's pretty fascinating so we'll put links down in the description to plaster trer and the brothers make channels you can go and check it out if you want to see more about that but one of the products I love and it is a tool and I've had these since your first batch these are the loops sunglasses and we are in talks about doing a shadow foam little collaboration when it comes to sunglass speaking of which whilst we had the red plastic out we thought we'd make you a little special something yeah let's have a look ooh hey that's the same shade as my plant pot yeah actually I like that there you go how you feeling with the red trying them on I like I like them there you go with a shadow film logo on that doesn't scream handsome I don't know what does it's not just the glasses although I'm a big fan of these you're one of my favorites and they do have loads of different colors the Blu-ray ones are the ones I had made from Blu-ray cases a particular favorite Bott openers y this isy tool I see there you go there you go so this will fit quite nicely but this is a slightly newer product we did uh opener inserted into a recycled plastic pen blank which is same way we made your pens Happy Days and some for the giveaway five carabinas pretty banging giveaway we've got going on you know what to do drop a comment down there and subscribe and head over to Brothers make so it's brothers.com shop or just check us out on YouTube Brothers mate there you go go and check out thanks very [Laughter] much and we'll see you on this booth because we're still all in together for another hour oh it's a bit of a mess you've got going on here what you is is it not you is it not we're demonstrating the F forit range today yeah yeah and our amazing drill bits all sizes up to 60 mil that's not a for bit is it oh yeah it is 120 mil we also do up to 4 and 1/2 in Imperial as well so yeah I'd use this in ham drill maybe CU usually it's just one either side is it really yeah so what makes our bits different is we have gr sides which allow better air flow and cutting and also a patented tooth design so it allows bit to clean and smooth every time yeah so with a piece of Oak you probably think you use a TCT bit right okay so all you do is you cut straight into the wood [Applause] so that clean and smooth every time and a lot of bit sometimes they go all sorts of different colors yeah are stay cool to the touch that is that is beasty that is that is really impressive and we also do and it is cool to the T yeah yeah it is we also do a pilot drive as well yeah so it allows you to cut an angle and again it's a smooth clean cut we for it's all made from one solid piece of Steel so they're not welded at the seam or anything today we have them 5 piece set at £80 including V8 so for anyone watching at home where could they go and find them anywhere all over the internet right any anywhere all over the inter where R TOS we're the main enforces of f Happy Days well thanks very much Phil thank you very much thank you very much so I think I've caught you at the right time here I know you've been cutting in some weird stuff but this is the strangest shape yes this is a challenge jno yeah and you've already done half of it what's it yeah so this is uh Johnny 5 Johnny 5 what so the other four didn't go so well no the other four were we're a failure five is the success brilliant I've been asking some of the the stand holders for some challenging things to C in and it they've just stepped up to another level yeah so this is the most challenging I've got but I've had some really interesting things all all all weekend to be honest car keys I've had loads of car keys Lego figures you got a draw of car keys somewhere you yeah I've just got all these Ready cars we're ready to drive home I've just done a drone for the Drone stand the V sign love it hey y Ben you're right mate got you a z stock a dude do you have many Z stocks I've got a few of the vintage ones through having the old tool shop which I think you're going to have a rumage around in a minute ab but I have not had a beautiful black and red beautifully logoed Shadow foam one am I right in saying that you and I are basically only in the businesses we were in because we get to play with the tools pretty much and now traveling around buying tools is is my full-time job oh in different countries it's the best so Ben's got not just Crimson guitars but also the Vintage tool shop which is all things classic tools we've got everything from side axes to chisels to hammers to yeah stuff you shouldn't probably sell people at a show like this right I'll have a rumage through see what I can find I'll see you later [Music] have right so this takes me back to the 100 tool kit in the Antique Center loads of plastic stuff not a big user of planes but this would be the place to get one if I needed one something quirky though that's what I'm looking for something it quirky it's quirky little thing some sort of eyeglass holder show what that is that's pretty cool I almost want to get that just so I can ask the audience what that is any guesses in the comments sure some of them know and I do love these little adjustables that one would need a little bit of a D- rust but King dick and then if you want to do a bit of a king dick comparison got a bigger one and a smaller one it's hard to know which one would be more useful but I think we'll go with this one so that's a ruler that has little wheels on it so when you cut in you can move it along parallel so if you want to move it like a tiny bit forward that is quite a cool thing that is made in London by wh harling that is a mad little tool that is really heavy 95 quid woo I'd love to know what the application for that maybe like for cutting strips of leather or something another quite cool tool like a parallel Gap re bone some quality stuff made in Birmingham just a good quality uh little pads saww and they make them in plastic interchangeable it's a cool one [Music] that is nuts I wonder what point in time they have to have a a little pouch that was from Ram you know advertising you've been to Ramsgate tiny little spanner set British made steel Ramsgate that wasn't a place I was expecting to see a made [Music] in that's a nice one this is like it's not a Yankee screwdriver it's like a Yankee drill like a hand drill made in Germany though CK now not made in pelli but run out of pelli look at these [ __ ] axes these are amazing these are mental they're called argument solvers well they might solve an argument but if you buy one you probably cause an argument to be honest not in the old days [Music] yeah right I've got a few bits few bits British made stuff and this little multi tool here this is quirky and the parallel rule so go and pay for these and keep looking around have you seen the trades with the shadow fing that we've got over there no we'll go and have a look in a minute I've heard you've got Shadow foam somewhere on this we have yeah no we genu give me the inside scoop we have got these bloody useful trays so show prep is all as I'm sure you know is always a absolute nightmare so yeah we've put together a few of these trays really handy stackable trays filled them with Shadow foam and who did The Cutting you know what I think I might have done them you've done a good job son potentially I'm I don't claimed to be the best it's properly used cuz it's covered in sers yeah absolutely they are so useful our Crimson rulers our sanding sticks we make a wasaki files and of course the Shinto s rasp yeah yeah everything you need organized you know when anything's missing Shadow foam out in the wild love to see [Music] it right I'll try and grab you while you've got a second your boo has been manic Ram absolutely jam-packed since we opened Y how many mini mallets do you think you've done I would say at least 120 at and they've all like made them and them and all that so that was the original my first ever mini Mallet and then it's built onto that one so yeah they pick the sides the core and the handle glue it all together and then um shape it sand it and then they're so excited that's the good thing that's look what I've made it's brilliant and then these things here talk me through these this was a scrapwood build a couple of years ago it's all made from a oak off a Look it yeah go for it it's it's not the lightest in the world so it's all made from an oak palette with a little bit I embellished it with a bit of Walnut as well so yeah that one's really cool Beast heavy heavy thing this is the raffle prize for today right okay yeah so if they want to win it on the Droid stand they could buy a ticket and then they could take that home the other sword I had is already gone annoying no no we we're cutting in fo on our Bo oh oh that's awesome we're looking for tools we on a tool hunt so these are the mallets you make can sell at the show yeah what's the kind of use case what people using these for they are designed as joiners mallets so the original one was that one a little bit too big and bulky for I'm aute I to Ood so Hickory or and I try and put a little bit flavor in the Middle with purple heart I can see all the different yeah it's amazing what's the yellow uh the yellow I don't know how to pronounce it it's either o or oage El Sage so that was bright yellow when I got it cut it up and it's really retained the FL the flavor of it as well yeah yeah quite unique isn't it I like them and because they are so hard druen you can sand it down and it will it'll retain strength as long as you don't go too it's fine but they are my pride and joys are if I take one which one's the best one that one it's got really nice random Oak grain patterns and then paduk is my favorite of everything which is why I put it in the handles and everything so PUK handle with red kind of a red Sinister I like it don't really want to let it go this is my favorite one all right all of them it's got price on it though so they do well I you know I'm persuadable yeah I do I do that for 80 for you I will take it for that is going in the kit and if someone wants to get their own one where would they get it from so I sell these on my website so brookswood bus.com and on Etsy as well amazing yeah we'll put the links in the description if you want one and uh yeah I'll take you that with me [Music] actually hoodie I'm worth more than £20 busy boy is Colin even more mental in person are you watching he had just had his phone wall in the video there you go can you see it as well as Thomas would say shadow form Shadow form you get him better yeah you just got to roll in more Shadow form Shadow form I love it Shadow form Shadow form everywhere [Music] these are through my eye a you make all these absolutely everything we make is entirely by hand we forged the heads in our Workshop in Somerset we half them ourselves and we also make the sheath half them what's that mean uh the half is the handle right okay right right yeah and we do a few different patterns we name the patterns after the birds on the farm where our Workshop is so we've got the Kestrel the Harrier and then we're bringing out a buzzard as well they look like throwing axes to me are they like is there anything why has you got this really wide kind like narrow head is that this is so this is the axe we make on the ax making course right I'm glad you picked that one that's convenient so this is a German patent Hatchet different regions throughout the world and even within counties within the same country will have different shaped axes for different uses yeah this is a German pattern Hatchet it's got a straight eye and a nice broad blade it's not too difficult for someone who hasn't forged before to make and it's a really useful ax it's nice broad blade small Hatchet very useful for pretty much everything so that would be the go-to flight firewor making some kindling and chopping a log into splinters yeah anyone with a wood burner or an open fire or just putting it in a rock sack to go out and the leather do you make that too so the leather we get from the last Oak Bar Tannery in the UK it's about 40 minutes from our Workshop it's a place called j& FJ Baker they made leather for all the London Shoe makers the king's shoes had leather from their Tannery on that is a good connection to having it so this is not far off a royal seal of approval and just you got the right leather Somerset all the pieces are there main business is the tool making so we make around 80 to 100 Chef's knives and 25 to 50 axes a month I think this little one is more my speed I've got a little wood burner so that would actually be quite handy on your last milk and T t-shirts these are aren't they these are the last ones end of the line jonno just for you cuz I mean it was you that made the tall wall so there's any right that you should have it and this is what inspired the milk and tea what wasn't you maybe maybe be thanks very much how's you leaving so tired I can barely talk yeah s got my shirt and tie on but I took it off so I in the you've beening you've been stood there 2 days solid mate been absolute mad got your folding ruler cheers this is our bit a merch they use them a lot in Germany they do I don't know if it'll help you with the tunnel but you know it's always handy to a ruler is it just never know if not it's good for whipping yeah just J sh so there we go that's the last bit of the giveaway we got Colin's last three ever milk and tea t-shirts one's got to be for me I wanted one of these so got two to go in the hall really really buzzing with that I'm glad we managed to the que's been around the block for Go in all day he sold tons of itch let's pack our booth down get back to the workshop and that's everything that's all of the stuff I picked up from the show and what a show it was this is the fourth maker Central show that we've actually had a boo that now we don't exhibit at many shows but the maker Central one is all about creators and video makers and the different people I watch on YouTube and love watching seeing what they can create so go into that show meeting them and being able to chat catch up is a big draw but on top of that I didn't realize how many tools there are how many Innovative tools and handmade British tools there are at the show most years we're so focused on our booth making sure our customers are happy and meeting the different creators that I forget to look around the show so it was amazing to have a proper look around I bought a load of stuff and it's the first show where people have been coming up to us they've seen the video and they were offering five items for the giveaway so we've got an amazing giveaway including items from Mr fur himself which was epic loads of other cool stuff and and five really cool tools to show you so let's get into it starting with number five so number five on the list is from Rob extreme plasma and it's these deberas that was a mad coincidence that Rob had been watching our videos the night or a couple of nights before and he'd seen this video where we built this panel and in particular this tool here this mango chiv which is like a deuring tool i' had for a long time made in Israel and Rob saw this and he sells them so straight away it rung a bell for him and then the next day or the day after he saw us at the show and said we sell those mango Shives and they've upgraded them and they're better now and he gave me five of the little pocket de bearers for the giveaway he'd seen the giveaways he knew the drill and he straight up offered me five of these which are the first item in our giveaway and then he showed me this thing so this is like a utility knife with a ceramic blade so the blade actually rotates I'll show you it's pretty cool you can just pull this like little thing back here and the whole body lifts apart and then you've got a ceramic blade which is blunt to the touch but it can open boxes and apparently it's for safety and on the other side it's a 3D printing like debur you can kind of see it's got these different profiles like a corner and then a 90° and it's for kind of scraping along the sides of your um 3D prints to debur them essentially but it can also be a utility blade so you give me that and that is my fifth item on the list because 3D printing is not only gaining popularity like rapid Pace because 3D printers are becoming more and more easy to use is what I would say the first couple of 3D printers that I ever looked at just seem like a nightmare they were kind of like in open a bit tricky but then printed a tool box a few months ago now go and check out here if you want to see and that was a creality printer and it was a dream it was dead easy so this deuring tool is probably going to come in quite handy happy to have it as part of my tool kit now thank you very much rob it was very kind you to come over and it was pretty crazy to be fair to see that these giveaways are uh kind of taking on a life of their own now which is fantastic we never know what's going to be including the giveaway now because it's whatever we find isn't it so that's the first item in the giveaway that's the first item in our list of top five thanks very much to Rob extreme plasma for coming over it made starting the giveaway a lot a lot easier with a solid start and it's always great to support a fellow small business we'll put links below to all the companies we mentioned starting with extreme plasma so there's a link down there if you want to go and show them some love that's number five let me show you number four the fourth on the list is this Mallet from Paul at brookswood builds now Paul creates some epic wooden Weaponry is the only way to describe it on his channel a big axe a big sword a massive Mallet as well so he's a Creator but he's also making tools he's a handmade Mallet he had loads of different versions this was his favorite apparently but I didn't feel too bad taking it off him because he did have a price on it it is a lovely lovely Mallet it's got a really nice smooth handle on it and this is all hand finished and that laser engraving is really really detailed I love that established 2019 made in the UK proper solid tool can put that with my chisels speaking of chisels let's look at number three so in the third spot we've got a tool that was excellently demonstrated by its inventor javase and he had or Jervis actually not Javas Jervis I'm thinking of Ricky Javas there and this is the G-sharp chisel sharpener and he told me the story about how he' created a very simple product for sharpening chisels and then essentially iterated on it and changed it and made it adaptable so you can use it for like different bevel angles and he got his daughter using it and she managed to work with it so hopefully I can use it that's the plan so this is the G made in the UK and it's for sharpening chisels essentially let's have a look if we can get it working so that's the knob we can set it to like let's just set it to 30° this is the kind of square Edge thing so we we put that there and that's what we put our chisel up to we're going to have to give it a test and for that I've got some scruffy chisels which are in the phone box behind me they've had a bit of a rough life and they've hit a few Nails in the time this is me good set of chisels these are Irwin marples I've had these for a couple of years and I keep them in this box they're still in Nice condition but they've never had a sharpen so we'll go with this one right so I've set it to the correct angle you said basically just slide it in put a bit of pressure on the back slide it in once it's locked in you just move it back and so it's pretty sharp that already I've definitely got it really sharp there it's cutting the card and it's even shaving the hairs off my arm as well I think I could probably get even sharpen that to be fair but that's pretty good and I've only been on this for probably 2 minutes something like that just nice and simple I don't have to keep the instruction book to hand for this one I can just remember how it works some of these sharpening jigs I've had in the past it's a bit of aava each time you get out of the box to try and work out again how it works so you basically just put it up to the block so it keeps it Square slide it in press on the back keep make sure it's like lying down the middle press on the back slide it in once it's made contact then you just move it back into two and just go town and obviously you've got the uh screw holes here so I could actually Mount that to a surface so there we go handy British invention made in England I'm happy to have that I think I'll put that in foam with my chisels and the new mallet as well that make a quite handy drawer having it all together and it's simple enough that I don't have to try and uh figure out how to work it every time so that's number three let me show you number two so second on the list is the gyro Cut Pro now this was a great demonstration to watch to see how this thing cut the paper without any kind of snags or the whole thing was cut through and it was by the inventor's grandson as well so it's always great to see family product family invention made in England too there's a bit of a theme all of these tools that we spoke about are all made in England which is pretty cool because we've spoken about tools from around the world not so much about British made tools so this is another one and we've got five he didn't hesitate he hooked us up with five of these gyro CTS with a pack of all three of the caride tips as well so we've got five of those for the giveaway and I bought his premium version now this was I think this was £50 and he did me a bit of a deal on it but it's their gyro cut XTR and it's an aluminium anodized gyro cut and as you can see basically you've got a carbide blade in the end here that kind of turns nice and freely so we'll give it a test on some paper now I've just got a standard cutting mat on the booth they actually had a sticky mat and he gave me five tubes of their sticky matte adhesive to go with this giveaway as well and he's given me one to try but I don't want to make this mat all sticky because I'm usually cutting foam on here so let's give it a go see if I can do it as good as the demonstration I doubt it but it came off the page and kind of did lots of Wiggly lines obviously without it stuck down it's a bit tricky but I kind of want to get the same thing going that he had something like this something like that that was pretty cool I was quite happy with that took me a couple of goes if I'm honest to get that without it being stuck down to the mat it's a bit tricky the paper wants to move but you can tell it's incredibly sharp and it's nice and comfortable in your hand that is it feels really premium so quirky little thing interested to know if any of you guys have tried one of these or used one for anything let me know in the comments what practical applications you could find for this other than arts and crafts on the table is there another kind of application for this cuz it cuts leather too I think and it cuts other different like more sturdy thicker materials not just paper so Quicky little thing and a great little addition to the giveaway five gyro Cuts with the blade sets and five tubes of the sticky mat adhesive too going in so it's already becoming a pretty cool giveaway and if you didn't know already how to enter to win that stuff it couldn't be easier all you've got to do is go down below this video and just comment any comment about the tools have you been to any of the tool fairs yet did you find anything cool that maybe I've not seen let me know all those comments get entered into a draw we'll draw the winner in a short video in 3 weeks and all we do then is contact you ask you for your address and send the goodies out to you so dead simple don't miss out and also while you're down there you've got to click the Subscribe button otherwise you won't be included so that's two let me show you my top pick which is a bundle of cool stuff so in number one we've got classic British made tools from the Vintage tool shop now we've got a few things from everywhere here starting with a square rabone from Birmingham which is pretty cool we've also got a king dick but enough about that we've got this beasty thing t- Saunders this one is probably made in Britain we don't really know actually I want to know what it is do you recognize this tool and can you let me know in the comments what it is because I have no idea we've got this little multi-tool now this is a little metric set of spanners tiny cool little thing and then to the piesta resistance which is a parallel rolling ruler which I've never seen anything like this before this is made in London and I'm not entirely sure what the official use for it or what it was designed for I quite like the look of it for cutting tracks in foam because basically you can cut a line and then it'll move equally left and right and you'll be able to get a nice even track my guess is that's exactly what it's for but for maybe strips of leather something like that but it's really quality item and I felt like we could give it a go made in London like I say so we've got a real good smattering of stuff here and all five of those go together as my number one pick really because they demonstrate classic British made tools Not Just Right Now by British makers who are making them right now and British inventors but we've got a long history of British made tools from all over the country not just Birmingham or Sheffield with Sheffield steel they've been made all over the country and I didn't expect to find vintage tools at maker Central I didn't expect to find a knife sharpener or a gyro cut either but there's loads of stuff to say and you've got to kind of go and check these out to know what you're going to find and that's that's the beauty of the shows really so hopefully you agree with my picks let me let me know in the comments if you don't or you think there's anything I missed let me know if you're at this show and maybe there's something you saw that I missed I love chatting about tools down in the description and obviously the show's on next year so hopefully there's some new stuff to see so that's my top five let me show you some of the bonus pickups I got while I was at the show you w another Brucey bonus so the first bonus was something from famag which is a German brand now I'd seen a few people walking around with a Zol stock so I had to go over and see what was going on they gave me six of these one for my collection five for the giveaway and they didn't stop it there they also gave us five pens five pencils and five stickers now famag were demonstrating their forc nits which were like one piece steel really really Smooth Cuts they were making and they were cool to the touch as well so they're quirky little things but they were very kind hooking us up with five Z stocks you got to have a z stock in a giveaway it's kind of becoming a rule isn't it so we've got those and also you can see that these little boots fell out the bag well these were from jimson's stuff jimson's a Creator on YouTube makes loads of cool projects he's done some belt and Shadow foam projects to be fair but he now focuses on some 3D printing and scanning 3D scanning and at the show he was showcasing a Revo Point scanner and he was scanning faces he did a scan of me and it was uh some to behold really hopefully he doesn't put my face on a jab of the Hut like he did with his own but he did hook us up with something for the giveaway and that was a load of 3D printed doc Martins it's getting more and more random this giveaway isn't it next up we got something from the show organizers themselves I went over to their booth and they sorted us out with our bestseller from the day which is the maker Central beanie and they know the drill Five of Everything and at the same time in this bag we've got the inventor's Workshop now this is a book that's been written by one of the creators at the show Ruth Amos she does a lot for stem which is science technology engineering manufacturing and she's a big advocate for young people getting into stem and has written this book to kind of encourage it and showcase some of the inventor workshops so some of the best inventions over the last 100 years and the illustrations in this book are fascinating so I felt like it was a great addition to this giveaway I've got three kids who've got a copy of this book and I felt like having a signed copy in the giveaway you can see the signature there we didn't get these for free we supported the hillsbor book shop who was at the show with Ruth we bought five copies for the giveaway and that's not it we've got one last item and this is from Colin fur himself just before he sold out of all of his milk and tea t-shirts and if you don't know what that is Milwaukee milk and tea got to be a connection maybe Colin F doesn't want to say it but I will we managed to talk to Colin just before he sold out of all this stuff and he's hooked us up with three of his milk and tea t-shirts and three hoodies we got two gray hoodies one zip-up hoodie so that's five for the giveaway one for me and obviously Colin being a good friend of mine good to have a chat with him and plan the next phone project in the tunnel or the workshop and he was very kind enough to hook these up part of the giveaway which rounds out now we've got hats the glue the gyro cut the deura the Doc Martin the inventor's Workshop book and a t-shirt what an epic kind of Swag pile that is if you want one of those you know what to do I'll stick that over there next up I've got a plan for cutting some Shadow foam and that is taking the gsh the Mallet all my chisel and get them all organized in a foam insert in one of the drawers of this tool box these tool boxes came to the show with us they're now back in our workshop and I can't just have the same insert cut nine times in each of them I've got to get them dialed in with the tools I actually need in this Workshop starting with the chisels and the sharpness so let me get a piece of foam cut for those drawers and then I can do a layout [Music] now there was that much to talk about on the booth I've been doing this layout and I've just remembered Brothers make they make sunglasses out recycled plastic and we're talking to them about making maybe some red and black ones they also make other tools now that's what we love and it's all about tools so they make a bottle opener out of recycled plastic and they actually hooked us up with five carabinas this is why I couldn't miss them out because they gave us five recycled plastic carabiners now I'll link their Channel below and you can go and see how easy it is to recycle plastic into new stuff and it's pretty amazing what they managed to create and the patterns the unique swirling patterns they get from mixing all the different cores of plastic so we got five of these these carabinas basically can hold all your keys and everything and they've got Brothers make logo on there these are all going in the giveaway this is going in my personal tool kit which I love thanks very much brothers make for giving me that Matt and Johnny thanks for being on our booth and with all that being said time to cut some foam and when it comes to cutting foam all you need is one of our cutting kits which come free with most orders on the website these have got anti cut gloves in it scalpel instructions everything you need cut and peel PE the foam into whichever layout you want now I've already set up the layout here I've got all my chisels in size order to the Mallet with the sharpener let me get a glove on and start cutting and for anyone asking because we did have someone come up to me at the show and ask me do the cutting kits only have one glove in because I only wear one glove in the video but if you're asking the same question I can confirm all of our cutting kits have two gloves in it's a pair left and right hand but I just prefer wearing one on the hand that I'm holding the tools with cuz that's the one at most risk and I always recommend wearing the anti cut gloves if you're a bit nervous wear both but if you're building up some confidence even me I've been cutting foam now for 13 14 years and I always wear an anti- cut glove on my left hand that is the one that gets sliced and diced if you're not careful so let me show you how you cut the foam it's dead simple you place the item where you want it to go in the foam you're using the scalpel like a pencil and you just Trace cut around the item making sure you keep the scalpel 90° and at this point we don't really need to cut very deep we're just literally capturing that silhouette as closely as we can we want to get a nice close cut to get a really good silhouette once you've gone all the way around and met back up at the you can take the item out of the way and then you press down on the foam and expose that cut you've made and you can go back around cutting deeper making sure that we've gone down for this item here you can see the handle is about 25 mil so we want to make sure we've cut down minimum about 30 mil into this 50m sheet once I've gone all the way around and made sure it's as deep as we need it to be all the way around we can then start peeling and for that we just press our finger down one end so you can start at either end it doesn't really matter and we're just trying to find a seam and then tuck your finger underneath and pull it up towards you and then basically just Chase it along you can just see there I'm using my fingers to just follow the peel and there we go it's as easy as that that's the first item you can see I've peeled out 20 mil in one go pretty much two or three layers let's see if it fits there we go as simple as that that is the first item done I'm going to use that exact same technique for all of the chisels and the Mallet and the g so let's get cutting a [Music] so there we go that's that drawer all done I know where my chisels Mallet are and if something's missing I can know instantly took me about 10 15 minutes to cut this draw so it's dead quick and simple and if you've ever wondered how to get started with Shadow foam now is a really good time to give it a go because we've got a special offer on we're calling it our starter kit and essentially it's five sheets of 30 mil foam or three sheets of 50 mil in any color the sheets are big enough to fit in this drawer they're 600 by 420 so you just have to trim a little bit off to fit in this drawer for about 45 quid the offer is and you get cutting kit you get free folding ruler to we'll put a link in the description if you've been toying with the idea of getting something Shadow foamed you can now click that link and give it a go yourself and while you're down there don't forget to enter in the giveaway this is everything you're going to get it's probably one of our best swag piles yet we do the draw in 3 weeks and it'll be in a short video and all the five winners we contact individually and we'll get your address off you and then we just ship it off to you so anywhere in the world you can enter just drop a comment make sure you subscribe and it's as simple as that so don't miss out thanks very much for watching the video and we'll see you in the next one
