I Designed MORE Youtuber Lego Sets

i'm a 3d artist and in this video i'm going to design youtubers their own lego sets and then pitch those lego sets to an actual designer from lego what happened in this video was completely absurd and this time i think they turned out a little too good this is thiago he personally designed all the lego sets you see on screen including this one which i have in my room he's going to judge whatever i make today from 1 to 10 and last time he did not hold back so i have to make this really good but there's one small problem with that the weekend is coming up so i only have three days to make the entire project this is like making food for gordon ramsay when you just learn how to cook but if i can impress a real lego designer my life will basically be complete on day one i had to decide which set to make and also get some of the minifigures done last time i tried to do way too much i made a target practice set with a giant puma head that shoots money out of its mouth when you hit a target in its jaw it's not that it was a bad idea it's that it was the worst idea what was i thinking first of all these pieces are annoying to work with second of all this was way too ambitious so for this one i need to scale it down a little bit so instead of making one set i'm going to be making three of them i call my idea setups it would be a series of 8x8 room that can modularly connect together and each room would be the setup or something recognizable from one youtuber this way i can do multiple while focusing on the details and making each one as good as possible but now there's another problem which youtubers should i even do i wrote out a list of creators that would work i wanted to do a variety mix this time people you wouldn't expect to be in the same room so the youtubers i decided on are dream markiplier and linus tech tips just the names look funny together imagine how they're gonna look in the same lego set the first youtuber i'm turning into lego form is dream now whatever you think about dream personally you have to admit if lego made a dream set they would be laughing all the way to the bank i'm trying to impress lego here alright last time i decided to use stud.io for lego designing and of course blender for the final assembly if you don't know what blender is it's the best the best it's just the best i would do it all in blender but stud.io has a pre-made library of pretty much every lego piece ever made as a 3d model that includes minifigure pieces even the printed ones but minecraft lego is not normal to say the least just take a look at this why is the cake a circle that's not even in the game and that's probably something i would make actually that's pretty accurate the point is dreams minifigure is not normal so i need to give it that custom head finally the model is ready for texturing now there's a lot of questions you might ask when you're texturing how can i align the geometry with the image how can i prevent stretching and deforming are these dream shoes official merchandise what other merchandise is there oh my what is wrong with you know what i actually kind of want this 30 000 likes i'll buy it and real quickly signup bonus while you're at it that's enough of that let's get back to legos now you may think this looks bad but in actuality with most printed lego pieces the print itself does not extend all the way to the edge of the piece i'm not going to make it inaccurate so it's realistic as well as looking bad but i did run into one major problem how is the face supposed to look right on the shirt it's literally impossible because of the slanted shape now a good designer will always find a way to get around these kinds of things which is why i'm moving on now i decided to add a high resolution wood texture to the floor because it'll be more realistic if i can demonstrate scale and thiago will be impressed nah 4k isn't going to cut it i said high resolution we need 8k now i know i said i wasn't gonna make it inaccurate but why are the lego heads too big look at those proportions finally i gave this minifigure a minecraft axe and added that sweet delicious depth of field gorgeous luscious oh i'm gonna cause some arguments with this it's beautiful engagement through the roof subscribe or else i wonder what the lego expert will think of this just imagine the completed set and well if that doesn't look realistic or convincing to you i don't know what to tell you because i don't know how it gets better than this okay fine i'll get a higher resolution floor texture 16k next i wanted to make markiplier now markiplier no longer has red hair but it's something a lot of people identified him with at some point so i'm gonna make one hairpiece from current videos and one with the red or i was gonna do that until i spent no less than an hour trying to get the hair right and i will no longer be making two of them next i started on the face now human lego faces are a lot harder than this which didn't take any effort at all especially if they have facial hair some lego beards are made with these small circles and that's the worst thing that's horrible day one is pretty much over which means i have two days left to make the last minifigure and complete all three of the sets the third and final minifigure was for linus tech tips and i thought it would be funny if i used this image as a reference for that just try explaining this to a lego designer i need hair and headphones but lego doesn't have good headphones so i need to make my own i went with this messy hair look and custom modeled some built-in headphones they look great except the phone's part those things are huge next i get to draw his amazing expression and this is probably my favorite thing i've ever made i tried a few different shirt designs but none of his current designs really worked well on a lego shirt so i went with an old logo i really love these minifigures and i probably won't sleep for weeks either anyways that 16k texture made it so i literally can't open the file without it crashing so i need to put the minifigures on hold for now and focus on the actual builds i did some research on their setups for dream i want to do this thumbnail he always does so we'll be enclosed in a small cave with minecraft equipment for markiplier i went with a bite of 87 setup because i really like the pointy sound foam and for linus of course i'm doing roomies in with the really odd amount of doors why are there so many each module will start with an 8x8 plate with two sides open and two sides with pins so they can connect to each other they'll also have a connecting mechanism on top so they can stack up and down as well for linus's room i started with the wall and the doors made a cool desk and a swiveling chair desk mounted monitor and a little picture frame off to the side you'll see what goes there later it takes me like 10 seconds to explain but each of these rooms took quite a while to design for markiplier's room i added another swivel chair a fancy l-shaped desk an ultra wide monitor another monitor a microphone and those fancy sound panels which there's a perfect lego brick for i also made hardwood floors and tried to orient the planks as consistently as possible for dreams thumbnail room there's gonna be three furnaces and two crafting tables stone will go up to a certain point and then dirt would be right above that i would have added trees and things above it but i wanted the modules to be able to stack so i threw in a bunch of minecraft tools and things instead but thiago actually had a great solution to this when we judged my work later speaking of that the call is in less than a day now so i had to hurry up day three was all about coloring and finalizing the sets and the minifigures i did this part in blender so we can get that sweet juicy depth of fame it was actually pretty simple i did see in a video a while back that this is linus's favorite fan art so i added it on a frame in the lego office i also printed him a keyboard and that was that for markiplier's office it was only basic colors besides the razer rgb gaming keyboard only 139 dollars at your local walgreens finally for dreams house i made the furnace and crafting table colors i even made the transparent pieces transparent and finished up the dirt and stone parts i fixed up a few more things but by then i was out of time it was time to show tiago what i've made yeah one to ten what do you think i think it's a solid seven you went way smaller and i really like the system that you developed oh yeah can't wait to see the others so the next one is a youtuber named markiplier uh i would say an eight i know the exact element to use for the soundproof walls you actually picked it up and i i was quite surprised by that all right so here is dream so yeah my favorite part is probably still the minifigure i think it's hilarious we would skyrocket the sales of like minecraft sets i love this so much what do you say one to ten i would say a nine if this was supposed to look like the thumbnails you should have added like an extra module on top but like i said the minifigure is
