I Became A SHINY ONLY Gym Leader in Pokemon Sword

this was a crazy idea for some reason I decided to try to become the world's first shiny only gym leader to do this I'm going to have to start all the way from the bottom on a fresh game of Pokemon sword and build an elite team of shiny Pokemon while I climb through the ranks of the Galla region all the way to the tippy top where I'll be able to open my very own gym that's a lot to do so let's get started we begin the game and before we even get to choose our starter we realize that we might have a problem you see in the world of Pokémon gym leaders always specialize in a single type well except for this guy but anyway our problem is that we need to choose a type before diving head first into the horrifying process of shiny hunting in this game after some careful deliberation and research we had narrowed our choice down to two potential types dragon and fire dragon has some of the coolest and most powerful Pokemon in the entire game but come to think of it so does fire and more importantly they both get those juicy YouTube views I've just recently become a dragon gym leader in Pokémon Scarlet so I decided to change it up a little bit for this one and choose fire as the type specialty of my future gym we make the obvious choice of score bunny as our starter but as you're probably aware the starters in this game are shiny locked so thankfully we don't have to spend an entire lifetime sitting here resetting for our first shiny instead after we give hop a couple beatdowns and do some other boring early game stuff we arrive at the wild area it's here where we can catch our very first shiny unfortunately for me the Pokemon I really wanted growth is exclusive to Pokemon Shield so we have to settle for its slightly worse counterpart Vulpix we wait until we get the intense Sun weather that we need in order to spawn these little guys in the first area with the weather on our side we can begin our hunt which for the most part is really not that interesting we just run into a bunch of Vulpix until oh oh shy Vulpix shy Vulpix yes it's my dog right there literally right it's a dog we nickname our new friend hot dog and before we move move on we make another quick stop the best thing about these newer Pokémon games is that you have access to pretty much any Evolution item that you want right from the get-go so we make our way over to the bridge field making sure to avoid all of the highlevel Pokémon who are desperately trying their very best to murder us it's here where we grab a fir Stone which we use to evolve our Vulpix into its much more impressive shiny Evolution Ninetails now that we have our first shiny team member we make our way into Modesto Leon stops Us in the street and gives us a piece of charcoal thanks I guess then we get to meet our competition for the gym challenge which I'll be honest is looking pretty bleak oh look at the top of his head oddly designed NPC's aside after a quick stay in the hotel we finally kick off the gym leader challenge with the opening ceremony after that we head out to truly begin our journey we beat hop again then arrive on Route three which is home to a couple fire types that we have our eye on for our team we have two options to catch here either rolly cold or the much more slithery and Elusive sizzly peed without doing any research we just kind of decided to hunt for sizzly peed which was probably a bad choice mostly because it doesn't appear in the Overworld which makes it relatively difficult to find oh and what's that chance to spawn there on on cabbe oh 1% chance to appear all right then regardless I was still locked in on this Choice prepared to spend an eternity on this early route I began to run into Pokémon in the grass while I was doing this I noticed that I was running into a strangely High number of sizzly peed given that it only has a 1% chance to appear it turns out I was already developing the instincts of a true fire type gym leader subconsciously I knew it would be fine to hunt for sizzly peed because our nine tals has the ability flash fire which makes it so that any fire type Pokémon in the wild have a 50% chance to appear when ninet Tales is the first member of our party yeah I'm kind of nice with it what can I say this made the hunt much easier but still relatively painful eventually though oh oh oh oh finally I almost didn't even notice it was shiny let's go dude yes yes yes now it just needs to get into the ball all right please yes yes we did it we nickname our new friend fire ant and with this creepy Crawley by our side we set off into the Galler mine where we avoid all the trainers until we meet our second rival be fire ant Chomps through his team without much issue then finally we arrive at turfield town where we have a quick history lesson with the professor Sonia boring after all of that we can finally challenge the first gym we use this flock of wulu to literally punch our way through these hay bales then we Face the gym leader Milo this guy specializes in Grass types so you can probably imagine how this goes if this guy is good enough to become a gym leader and Galler I like our odds here after beating Milo and saving this essential worker from a couple team yel bullies we get our bike wait a second do you see that when did Pokémon sword come out again new virus Corona virus what did you know game freak what are you hiding uh anyway at this point we divert away from the story just a little bit and instead head out to the remote aisle of armor we know for sure we want to try for a shiny score bunny in the future and the only way to get one of those is with the healthy helping of egg hatching from the nursery which on its own is pretty timec consuming but luckily fire type Pokémon have an ability that'll help us out here it's called flame body if you have a Pokémon with flame body in your party you're able to hatch eggs at a much faster rate so we head to the edge of the island into the pot bottom desert where we start trying to find a shiny Fletchling at first when we set foot in this desert it seemed like a vast expanse of sand never ending and full of possibilities but the more time I spent in here the more the walls started to close in smaller and smaller they constricted my mind until I couldn't feel my lungs under the crushing weight of oh cool there's the shiny we give our new bird an appropriate name and now that we have our incubation needs met for the foreseeable future we head back to the mainland and make our way into halbury here we have our first interaction in person with the chairman Rose I really do love how they just made him look like a middle-aged out of shape weirdo anyway after a little bit of prep we head into the gym solve the challenge and battle Nessa which goes uh yeah I guess we don't really have any answer for those water types do we after those crushing attempts we realize we're probably going to need some backup so we head out to the daycare on Route 5 where we kick off our first breedon that's 1 1800 breedon donate today we place our trusty experienced Japanese Ditto in the daycare with our little little innocent Bunny and let our boy learn a few new things with the foreign language ditto we're able to utilize the massuda method for hunting for our shiny which elevates our odds to a much more reasonable level so it's not too long before this happens is that it oh it is it I thought it was more tan couldn't even tell I think I'm colorblind I couldn't even tell that that was a shiny let's go yes from here we evolve score bunny into a reboot okay there's there's where the tan this comes in God that looks good then head into destroy n then head in again and barely squeak out a win against Nessa after that hardfought Victory I'm starting to realize that maybe this whole becoming a gym leader thing won't be so easy after all at this point we have a quick lunch with the chairman Rose here he tells us that if we're serious about our goal of becoming a gym leader we need to prove oursel by beating the champion Leon I'm really not sure how our buddy Milo managed to pull that one off but whatever he also tells us that he believes in us and that we're the most promising contestant in the current class class with renewed confidence we head into the creatively named Galler Mine 2 where we destroy bead with a few bug bites from our sizzly ped then flush out the gym leader kabo after a quick night stay at the Budu drop in and a battle against Marne we challenge the old master in Mesto kaboo is the Region's current fire type gym leader which means this guy is our direct competition we're going to need to really put on a show if we want to replace him as the fire type gym leader with our Ninetails immunity to his fire type attacks we take out his disgusting non-shiny lead making sure to make it look as easy for us as possible unfortunately kabo does not like to be disrespected he fires back with his Arcanine and takes out hot dog before we're able to finish it not to worry though jalapeno comes in and finishes it off finally he's down to just his aenos Scorch with his back against the wall kabo pulls out all the stops and gigantamax is his fire bug anticipating this we swap to the incubator we live through an attack and get good damage with an acrobatics but fall the following turn out of options we're forced to send in reboot and hit a Dynamax of our own on the next turn we try to hit it with a Max flare which turns out to be a critical error because this bug's ability flash fire makes it immune to fire type attacks whoops thankfully at this point it's out of gigant toax turns so we finish it off with a couple Max strikes not as convincing as we would have liked but it's a victory nonetheless now that we've defeated kabo and somewhat proven our dominance it's clear that we'll be the right choice for the leader position if we do managed to beat Leon beating kabo means that we've earned three badges which lets us get into hammerlock at the opposite end of the wild area we head over there and at this point there's a whole bunch of exposition and history about the Galla region boring let's go do something more fun instead that's more like it after somehow managing to keep our lunch and our stomach through that whole thing we get the chance to challenge the fighting gym leader beia but before we do that we have a couple things to take care of first we have to evolve a bunch of Pokémon [Music] since we weren't able to embarrass kabo as much as we wanted to in the last gym we know we need to make a statement for the gym leader committee to really prove that I'm the right choice for the gym leader position so before fighting beia we get a very devious idea after training up we had back to the wild area to get a very special Pokémon one that will help us make a complete fool out of our next opponent we make our way into the bridge field where we use the same Flashfire trick that we used on Route three to seek out our next catch is that it is that the blue flame oh it is it is okay okay okay okay okay better get in the ball oh got right in the ball let's go baby you may be wondering what can this tiny candle possibly do against the might of a real gym leader well let me show you all right so the whole reason why I put myself through that shiny hunt so that we could just sit here and watch this hitmon toop watch what what it does watch it watch the futility in its dumb little face this is this is expert level play from a pro gym leader look at it look it can't hit us that's funny right I just caught a shiny Litwick literally for this bit please clap anyway we slice and dice our way through the rest of beia's Pokémon with a flashy finish from the incubator then we stop bead from destroying a Priceless ancient artifact using our humaniz super scary shiny centipede monster from here we head to Bon Lea where we lay in the lead role in the local production of Hamlet to be or not to be then we Face the fashion icon and local heart throp opal with the generous Buffs that she gives out during the fight we have no issue destroying her team and blowing up her giant wedding cake from here we head back to hammerlock give hop to SmackDown evolve our Litwick make our way to seester fall in a bunch of holes then finally face The Rock Gym Leader Gordy now you might be thinking wow rock types sure are going to give your fire type Pokémon a whole lot of trouble and you'd be right to think that but luckily a few key members of our team are able to learn some clutch grass type attacks namely chandelier with energy ball and ccch with power weip yeah get barbaric I mean we're just going to keep energy [Applause] balling holy after beating Gordy we embarrass hop on the battle yet again then we head through this Frozen Wasteland and sneak into Spike moth defeating Marne along the way from here we battle our way into the gym until we reach the gym leader pierce his team is light work for our shiny Squad and it's not too long before we're riding out of the city Victorious we double back to hammerlock where we Face the final gym leader rhon who specializes in uh General Pokemon gotcha dudon wow on hot dog it's my freaking pyro ball gotcha now that we have all eight gym badges we can ride the train and battle our way to the final city of Winden it's here where we'll be able to enter the ultimate Pokémon tournament that culminates in a match between the last trainer standing and the champion Leon this is our only chance to defeat him and earn our spot as a gym leader so in preparation for the tournament we make a quick trip back to the aisle of armor Here We Begin scouring the island to find as many hidden Diglett as we possibly can after a good long while spent searching we finally found a full 100 so we head over to talk to the diglet man himself who rewards us with a few special Pokémon from the alola region the very last Pokémon that he gives us is the tiny kitty Litton this Lon in particular is of course shiny lock though so in order to be able to use it on our team we head back to the daycare where we let it and our baby Baker ditto have some quality time then we let the eggs cook with the incubator and before long oh yeah white Litton white Litton yes oh Tat's cool man see this is fine right but it's still on four legs it's just like it's too animall likee you know if only it could just be like a little bit more like a human you know perfect yes that's exactly what I wanted that to turn into after getting white boy up to speed we head back to Winden where we plow through Marne and hop in the first rounds of the tournament with our first two rounds complete we head back to the hotel to rest up for the night it's here where things start to get a little bit strange for some reason these dudes in dark sunglasses are doing weird stuff out in the Public Square like staring at walls joining in other people's conversations and using phone booths so we have to battle them and teach them a few lessons about social etiquette after dealing with that whole thing we decided to go report these guys to their boss chairman Rose at the top of his Tower we battle our way up through his goons and his assistant old only to overhear something disturbing or at least I think it's disturbing I'm going to be honest I didn't read it so we go back and resume day two of the tournament we step into the final battle where all of our dreams can finally come true but we're rudely interrupted by the chairman who comes on the big screen in the arena and just start saying a whole bunch of stuff and I don't like him talking especially not when I'm about to become a gym leader so we head back to hammerlock to give him a piece of our mind but first we have to go pick up a weapon in case things get hairy yeah this should do we make our way up to the top of the gym and hammerlock and this guy just keeps mouthing off so we challenge him to a battle to get to shut up our friend Rose specializes in steel types so you can probably imagine how this goes for [Music] him we didn't even have to use our sword nice turns out that the chairman Unleashed a crazy strong Pokémon straight out of a '90s arcade game so we have to go deal with that whole thing as well with the world apparently saved we can finally get to our battle attle with Leon I don't think it dies though wow it does die get freaking super effectively hit gotcha far off a danst Lariat oh my God smacked oh okay that kill is nice we just Powerball oh Noy hit him with that tundy punch fire blast is fine that that's going to just tickle what an embarrassing that did way more than I thought it what we do it yes while we may have defeated the champion and earned our spot as a gym leader our mission isn't quite done yet there's still one last Pokemon that I need to add to my gym leader team as the Crown Jewel after winning we wake up back at home and immediately head over to Hop's house upstairs in Leon's room we find a Pokeball with a note addressed to us not sure why he would leave a gift for us in his own room but it's still a nice gesture inside of this Pokeball is a nice baby Charming ER who we immediately Rob of all of its innocence by putting it in the daycare with the baby maker and we repeat the same breeding process that we've grown to know and love yo yo yeah we train up our Charmander to be another one of the boys okay it's still mediocre it's still Med mediocre it's not it's not the best so sick the coolest the coolest shiny in all of the game then we head out to the aisle of armor where we work through the main Quest until we get a healthy helping of gigantamax soup which we feed to our Charizard completing our ultimate team with our team complete we have become the very first shiny only fire type gym leader in Pokémon history like the video and subscribe to the
