Hunting Big Lake Mallards and Honkers with The Boat!! (Limit of BOTH)

yeah oh what a feeling welcome back to a nother one today we got a boat hunt planned for you all you all have been requesting a duck boat hunt using the old excel that's what we're doing today we're out at Preston's place out of his place way out southeast Kansas and we're at his cabin this is where me and Fred slept last night oh yeah Fred sleep on the floor all night like a good boy there was no potty and there was no accidents that's a good boy usually we have Fred in this kennel but uh he did amazing I'm really proud of him but I will give you a little tour Preston's cabin here three beds up top upstairs here and then that's downstairs awesome little place I mean it's it's gorgeous Freddie and I I'm telling you we slept like absolute babies yeah morning you ready to go yeah I am to be a chilly one again yeah it's gonna be chilly what's the what's the temperature right now you have any idea I think it's 20 20 degrees wind chills probably like 10 so it's cold let me tell you all the white tail up here though this one's this one's old Preston's oh yeah how old were you when you shot that 14 14 you're only 15 now get up but check it out we got the boat loaded down this might be an issue look how Frost Ted T's decoys are dude you're gonna have to get them in the water and get it off yep it's cold it's really cold so everything is just covered in frost really thick Frost - holy smokes but the old boat we're loaded down we got two panel blinds in the bottom we're rocking the ice cedar the generator we're gonna need a boat we're in a bunch of floater decoys I think Bradley you brought a dozen Goose floaters and Preston you brought a whole just what seven dozen probably so five roughly five dozen duck floaters one dozen a goose floater so it's gonna be a beautiful spread three guys whoo it's cold out we're getting ready to go put the boat in but I want to tell you guys I am giving away that boat right there boat trailer aluminum trailer and mud buddy it's just hard - all right yeah it's really hard to hunt the thing is you have to have a boat to get to this spot as you can see there's no roads leading to where we are so you have to cross the entire Lake by boat makes it tough when there's a lot of ice good boy Oh Freddy you baby huh look at all that ice on him let me help you out buddy that's a good boy he's been killing the game what a a little Peninsula right here so try not to move that much but these birds this has not been hunted in a long time and you can tell by the Ducks the Ducks they really don't circle on you they just go you when they give it up so the Mojo's hall of Preston's oh you're all your motion but squirters and flappers out there it looks good yeah it does it helps a lot and the bank is a lot more shallow than I thought it was gonna be yeah you can walk out pretty far yeah it's nice man this place is amazing Oh Frederick II though he's turning into an ice cube I think let me help you out buddy it's okay he's loving life though he's like yeah dad whatever you say moving some decoys and trying to push this ice out of here have a pretty good look thank goodness it's not that oh yeah there's a deep spot boys all look duck that nope okay we need to push this ice out of here like you're saying oh it gets soft yeah you can't go out with any deeper than that it's soft that helped we've moved it a little bit I think the winds gonna blow it out though eventually this is beautiful though boys Wow [Music] that's caddy that's a Gaddy do you want gaddy's you want to pass on the Gattis boys yeah that's a hen Gaddy landed there you go there she goes there she goes we're gonna be extra choosy today we know that there's a lot of stud Widgeon and a lot of Mallard here so we're just gonna be choosy it's not about numbers today for us we're just gonna try to get down some pretty Birds grainy screens 3-piece good vision really oh I got one look at the feathers falling boy yeah I hope that I got that on camera I really hope that was amazing look at these ducks out front hey gadwall here Fred here come on buddy he's pulling some decoys everybody here good boy here look at that green head good boy set well we got the green though that was a beautiful little group of green beautiful right here look at this boys look at that look at that look at that yeah that was sweet did you get some picture that were doing it did you get me smoking it no I didn't know well it is sitting at 8:34 in the am here it is 13 degrees but the real feel the windchill is 7 degrees and thing is with your hands look how red my hands are thinking about your hands man you leave them exposed too much thank goodness there's not a lot of win if there's a bunch of wind it would be it'd be brutal but honestly it's not that bad today but uh hold Fredrik this poor guy look at him Oh icicle City poor guy we'll get you warmed up and get you a nice meal buddy yeah dad I just want to go home and cuddle with mom that's exactly what he wants to do welp got you on the big camera now that look a little better y'all I know the big camera I wish I could run it all the time on the hunts but with handling Fred running my call working my butt off running a boat it's hard to have this on enough we got some footage this morning of running the boat breaking eyes I want to show you all what's going on though with the big camera here absolutely gorgeous spot check out how big of a watershed this actually is absolutely massive our little spread does no justice to how big this place really is it is huge so all the way over there right over there that's Preston's grandparents place that's who owns this place how long have your grandparents had this play right 15 years 15 years it's absolutely gorgeous big big big water so this is huge but then way down yonder wraps around and it's way bigger over there too so little bitty spread five dozen ducks floaters and one dozen Goose floaters to mojo's a couple motion decoys but squirt some flappers going on the Mojo's though they're all literally just frozen they're all ice cubes they got ice the whole coating of ice that's where we're sitting just on a little Peninsula right here back in there Oh Fred he's ready to go home it's really cold and he's uh he's been doing amazing I mean with this ice the last week of duck hunting he has been doing absolutely amazing friend Brett dead bird good boy there we go there we go that was a good shooter there he came floating in that's a stud gadwall oh look at the birch I hear two of them I am limited out that's it I'm done done I can shoot some geese yeah I guess I guess I can shoot some geese here you got a single Oh Freddie though he's on a journey that is extremely long kind of frightens me to be honest but he doesn't have to battle any ice that's what's good the wind should put helped push him back this way wow that's a long swim to Fred he's still going for it just got it good boy here buddy good Fred that was long however many seconds that's that was for him to get there I was waiting for you to take him boy Skybus City Bradley over here go boy here good dog come here buddy come all he's tired fiber good boy oh poor guy what a trooper Wow he went after dime like Preston do you think it's too far he's like no he's got it oh good boy man that's a good dog good dog there's my wigeon that's my final bird of the day that's a beauty look at him absolute beauty Wow what a hunt what a hunt Oh boys we got geese Oh this would get dirty get down don't move shooting right there get it go down that Mike gonna throws man completely froze there we go there we go yeah Fred Mertz there we go Atta boys there we go man we turned him from way out there and they came back oh it's cold my hand there's a lot more geese to come how to do this all day well my hands are frozen yeah I know gone my hands are gone my goodness Oh Fred he's on a retreated oh look at him these are big honkers here I don't know probably not here Fred that's a good boy that's a big bird good boy come on that dog has been working his butt off today and let me tell you what come on buddy that's a good boy here here come on bring me that big old bird boy my bird sniper good boy look he's look he's like dad I'm over it huh we got dead birds dead bird ain't done he ain't never brick ready to go boy come on now bring it all the way up here for you get the dog good boy good dog well we're calling it a wrap after that last group of honkers that did it we crushed them for like boys that's cold we got a long drive home that was one heck of a hunt absolutely amazing place Fred and I he's right there he's trucking through this deep grass come on buddy come on but we're headed to get the boat we got a lot to pick up we got some tall girls out on the water that we have to pick up so let's risk this boat here we are here's the boat I parked it quite a ways away not too far though here's our spread over there come on Fred let's go buddy good boy but our spreads way over there I'd say it's a good mm probably 200 300 yards away from the spread what a huh this is amazing but here's the boat like I said me tell you what on the front of this bad boy we have us a three-man pile we did a three-man adducts first of all we'll look at the pile here a little bit but then we shot and then we stopped three shy of our goose limit so when I was getting the boat down yonder like we were doing you guys actually shot three more didn't you these geese just wanted today they gave it up it was beautiful I hope you guys really enjoyed the shot cam footage on them honkers I really hope that I captured some great great footage today well we're all picked up all loaded up got the trailer hooked up whoa that was a lot of work but let me tell you it was worth it we had us a day it was awesome that was a day dude like I didn't we knew it was gonna be good when we looked at it yesterday but man starting off with the boat troubles made it a little bit of trouble the boat troubles about the boat yeah when it's cold like really cold right now it's still only out about 10 degrees admit when it's really really cold like the first fire up it's hard it's hard to get it turned over you know what I means but once it turns over and it's warmed up she's good to go but here's a pile 15 geese and a 3-man of ducks we got some divers oh yeah we got some gaddy's oh yeah we got the green here today but we got into the widget and check this out this is a rarity green-winged teal green winged teal into January
