How to Write Calligraphy on the reMarkable 2 | Best Practice Getting Started

hey and welcome back today i'm going to show you how to use the calligraphy template on the remarkable 2. this can help improve your signature your handwriting in general just get you started with calligraphy and it's just calming to use i'm at a different desk right now in a different room but let's get started i'm going to open up my learn folder open a new notebook let's name it calligraphy so i've already used this calligraphy large but if you would like to get to this view all templates you can choose either portrait or landscape up to you i happen to pick portrait and here is the calligraphy large and create before we jump into practicing i can explain the basics this top guideline is called the ascender the dash middle guideline right below is called the x height the solid one is the baseline this is called the descender and these are horizontal spacers now i'm going to switch from ballpoint pen to the calligraphy pen so lowercase letters will start on the baseline right here and they will go and reach the x height right here for example a c n x ascenders will be above the x height so think of letters like b d t or l descenders include j p y and q let's get into some ways to practice you can go through the entire alphabet uppercase and lowercase it will definitely help if you start out going very very slowly there are so many ways that you can write things out so try what you like best for example multiple ways to write a t and honestly each letter of the alphabet could be completely different just practice what you like i recommend trying a few other things to practice hills for example try to make your down stroke have more pressure so when you do your up stroke it's a little bit lighter also try to make sure you get from the baseline to the ascender and those are hills the next thing to try are loops try to make them as identical as possible no one's perfect though next try some small circles with a down stroke and make sure the down stroke has a little bit more pressure and so on [Music] next we're going to try the traditional f and also lines but go very very slow and finally i would recommend practicing your name or what you want your signature to look like my try to make a uniform height for your letters um okay just mess around with it it's supposed to be fun you have a remarkable why not use it let's say your name is lauren try to practice l's capital l's maybe you want to get really dramatic with it if you're working on your signature maybe you want to do just the first initial last name so let's say your last name was heart so just practice thanks for joining me and don't forget to subscribe
