hi everyone and welcome to my video today on uploading a design that you've created in canva onto the printful platform or website now as you may or may not know printful is a print-on-demand business or website that many people use for their print on demand business or or perhaps you just use it for for designs that you've created on canva and then want to to print either onto a t-shirt or a mug or or whatever item for your own personal use but either way um i hope this video will be helpful to you and useful and i ask that you please click on the like button and subscribe to my channel so let's get started so we're going to click on the create a design button up here and select t-shirt which is going to take us to this design page and as you can see for today's video i've already created a very basic design that we're going to go ahead and transfer over to the printful website so once we have this and you're happy with it we're going to download this to our computer now i went over this in my first video um and that link will will be below if you haven't seen that yet as well but let's let's uh go ahead and click on this down arrow which is your download arrow click on that it's going to give you this option we're always going to select the png file format and usually you can just leave it on the same pixel size here there are times when you may want to change that and we can talk about that later but uh very importantly we're going to select transparent background and then download as you can see it's downloading here and there so it's now it's now on your computer and so the next step then we're going to go to the printful website and you'll if you don't if you haven't already signed up for printful it's a free service and you just need to create a username and and that's it and then you'll have access to it we're going to once we're on the printful website and and you've signed up we're going to go into the products templates section and it's going to give you this page so to go ahead and upload your design we're going to click on create more product templates it's going to bring you to this page you're going to have many options for today's video we're going to select women's clothing and even within that you're going to have many options as you scroll through you'll see hoodies and leggings and sports bras and sweatshirts but for today we're going to select t-shirts and it's going to give you all different types of t-shirts you can use as you scroll through let's go with the bella canvas 6400 as you can see the reviews on that are very good and it's considered a best seller and it's on sale too which is a good thing so let's click click on bella canvas 6400 and it's going to bring you here as you can see you can select these are the colors of the shirt that you're going to select we're using a white font so i think we're definitely not going to select the white shirt and i think we will unselect the sand colored shirt and maybe also give the red shirt as an option for this though let's go with a dark gray heather and all we're going to do is click on drop your design here just click right on that and then click on upload and it's going to give you your drop down of your your files [Music] select the file that we just up and upload and click upload and now it's going to bring us here so now it's it's it's uploaded on your printful website as an option so then to place this in our template we're going to hover over it and just click on place and there you go and over to the left it's going to tell you the print quality here it's saying good if it's not good if it's not quality enough it's it's going to tell you that printful recommends between 150 and 300 dpi dpi stands for dots per inch that basically is the resolution quality of your design on that particular shirt now this may be a little bit large but it's good so let's let's go with that and then you can from here you can uh move this design around as you wish anywhere on the shirt the solid lines go on horizontally and vertically tell you that you're centered so let's leave it at that once you're happy with that we're going to click on continue and then from here you can this is going to be your template you're not you're not actually printing a shirt or uploading this to a store or anything like that but you can just you can go ahead and leave the name as is or you can change it to whatever the design is called which we call it canva design i believe let's type in canva design and that's it we're going to save the product template and there you go there it is uploaded as a template onto your printful website and then in a future video i'm going to go over how to upload this to your store and and that's also not very complicated but um anyway i i do hope that you found this video today helpful and useful and ask that you please click on the like button and subscribe to my channel thanks again and i look forward to seeing you in my next video have a great day
