hey what's going on everyone my name is Colin semicolon Bre Bre Bre whatever you want to call me that totally is fine uh today we are going to go over how I use craft Sim and I want to highlight that I'm saying how I use craft Sim because I recognize that I don't use the whole add-on there are certainly aspects that I don't touch and so there might be some parts that uh I I don't cover in this tutorial uh but again it's how I use it I make a lot of gold so you certainly can too all right first things first uh we're going to dive into what craft Sim is and how it works so craft Sim is a crafting add-on that calculates percentage of profit accounting for resourcefulness and multicraft uh so if you don't have craft Sim and you look at any sort of crafting material or something that you want to craft for profit and it's a dragonflight item you'll probably find that it costs more to craft than what it actually sells for and so in a lot of cases that might deter you thinking oh well this this particular item is not profitable to craft um but you have to remember that unless you're using craft Sim then you know whatever price sources you're looking at is likely not accounting for multicraft and resourcefulness and those are extremely important and kind of completely change whether something is profitable or not um so that's kind of what crafts Sim is again it it just helps highlight where profits are within crafting um and so to to to have craft Sim kind of work the best for you number one obviously you need to install craft Sim uh but number two you are going to need to install a second add-on that is going to be a price source so right here is all the price Source add-ons available for uh craft Sim uh trade skill master auctionator recrystallize and orios exchange I personally have trade skill master and auctionator installed and I think that those are just fine I I don't use these these two bottom add-ons now I specifically use auctionator for my price source so you would need to go into your craft Sim options menu and select a price Source uh you can select whichever one you would prefer again I use auctionator uh right beneath that there's an option for show profit percentage and I would highly recommend selecting this option this is just essentially going to tell you you what percent of the sell price of the item you're crafting is profit versus not and then lastly I have remember last recipe checked off uh this is just a great thing if you're going in between different crafting menus uh if you close Jewel crafting and you on one particular recipe when you reopen that drill crafting menu it'll just immediately go back to that same recipe uh so it's actually a really nice quality of life thing to have uh some of these other tabs within the craft Sim menu are something that I've actually never adjusted if you are going to use TSM for any sort of price sources uh you might want to look at updating uh these strings um but otherwise you should be pretty safe with just using the default settings that craft Sim has built in okay now that we've discussed how to get craft Sim installed and kind of set up on your game uh let's kind of take a look at what we can use craft Sim 4 um so I have my crafting menu open here and you can see all these black boxes surrounding my jeal crafting crafting menu uh and that is all craft set and the first tab we're going to take a look at is material optimization um but before we dive into specifically material optimization I just want to cover one you know kind of General thing which is this button here that says simulation mode uh so by selecting simulation mode that essentially allows you to use craft Sim to simulate different aspects of crafting so uh to just be a little bit more clear without you know selecting simulation mode material optimization won't work craft Sim specialization info won't work so you won't be able to simulate knowledge Point distribution um so simulation mode is a very important button that you you have to select in order to kind of use the other features of craft Sim so again whenever you're wanting to use craft Sim just make sure you select simulation mode first so now let's take a look at Material optimization and how it works uh so the general idea of material optimization is it is going to find the best uh combination of quality and price for the crafting materials required to give you the the most possible profit on the result um so for Elemental Harmony in specific if I use this material optimization Tab and I want to just highlight real quick I'm going into simulation mode and then here's the material optimization tab right here so it's telling me the reachable quality I can do is rank three and it's giving me a very brief snapshot of what rank or what quality materials it's required to get that quality so if I click assign right here it is going to go ahead and assign a quality for each required crafting material um now because we're we're trying to go for rank three uh if we look at Alex straite for example the rank three Alex drite might not be the cheapest option rank two Alex drite might be cheaper but because we are wanting to get rank three Elemental Harmony we have to have some of these gems as quality three to achieve a rank three uh Elemental Harmony so the rank U rank three Alex drite is probably one of the cheaper rank three options out of the whole bunch along with malite and Naz dorite and then with the rank r two options for yald and netherite these rank two gems are probably the cheapest options um out of all the gems and then looking at Primal convergence um Primal convergence rank two are generally always the cheapest so uh craft Sim will almost always put rank two Primal convergence in there but if it happened to be where like rank three Primal convergence were cheaper on the auction house then it certainly would change you know some of these other gem qualities that that are inserting but again essentially it is trying to find the the cheapest combination of gems and Primal convergent to con achieve a guaranteed rank three Primal or or Elemental Harmony um so that's kind of what material optimization does so it just makes the process of you trying to figure out what rank gems and everything to use uh it just streamlines that process and and makes it much quicker for you um the only caveat to this is sometimes like Elemental Harmony rank three might not be the the the best selling option it might like rank Twos for example might be considerably more expensive than rank 3's and so you might find that material optimization is trying to uh have you craft rank two Elemental harmonies um and so that just kind of goes into you know look and and make sure you know what it's going to have you craft is is spart I for example would never craft rank two Elemental harmonies even if craft Sim was trying to tell me to and saying that that's the most profit just because I know personally that rank two Elemental harmonies are not going to sell as fast as rank three um so you do have to keep some of that in mind but material optimization tab as a whole is really good for just quickly identifying what materials are needed to craft the most profitable uh version of an item so that leads us into craft some average profit uh I think this section is pretty self-explanatory but the the menu is right here and essentially what this is going to do is it's just going to take into consideration the auction house price for each crafting material needed to craft this item and it's also going to take into consideration the auction house price of the end product so this case Elemental Harmony rank three and it's going to do some math considering your multi craft and resourcefulness to come to a conclusion on what your average profit is per craft so in this particular scenario it's telling me that I would make 65 gold 29 silver and 91 copper po per Elemental har craft again with the current auction house prices uh and then this final percent over here where it says 45% that just is alluding to uh what I mentioned towards the beginning of the video of showing profit percentage so this is just telling me that per every Elemental Harmony I sell 45% of that Elemental Harmony is going to be profit okay next we're going to take a look at Top Gear and that is this menu right here uh so Top Gear is just a nice nice little thing to have to kind of remind you when you're going about crafting uh so a good example is with inscription um you know you depending on the type of crafting you're doing um you might do be doing Milling or you might be crafting inks and uh if you're Milling you're going to want like a resourcefulness tool on whereas if you're crafting inks you're going to want a multi craft tool on so if I were to just go and craft inks right now um this Top Gear is telling me that there's different different gear that I should Equip to increase my profit so essentially why that's telling me that is I am currently wearing my resourcefulness tool um but craft Sim and and if we look at the average profit it's telling me that multicraft is more more uh you know powerful or profitable than than resourcefulness so this Top Gear section is telling me that essentially I need to equip my multicraft crafting gear uh so I can just use the menu to equip my crafting gear and it's just going to put on my multicraft tool um and so that's essentially what what Top Gear is is it's just going to tell you uh it's going to optimize based off of what you're crafting what the Top Gear is and it's just a nice reminder uh to have open in case you are doing a lot of crafting if you're going from Milling to crafting inks going back to Milling it's just an again it's a nice reminder to be switching between that gear so you don't forget um because if if you if you forgot and you started doing a bunch of Milling but had your your multicraft tool on that multicraft is doing literally nothing for you in terms of milling and so um it's going to make the Milling process not profitable possibly or just far less profitable uh so so the the top gear box is is a great menu to to have open uh just to always have at reference and then we'll move on to uh the craft Sim simulation info so what this tab essentially does and if we go we would have to go back into simulation mode to access this tab but if we go into simulation mode and then we click simulate knowledge distribution this allows you to essentially simulate putting knowledge points into different trees so you can see how it impacts your crafting so uh right now I'm on burnished ink so I will make some changes to the simul a uh knowledge points that impacts ink so if I were to just take all of my knowledge points out of flawless inks you can see how that impacts my average profit and um my simulation mode up here in terms of uh like what my expected quality is what my multi craft is and and things similar to that so let's say you're starting out in a new profession and you're trying to get an idea of uh where to spend your knowledge points and what's going to make the most sense for profit um you can come into the simulation mode and uh let's say you had 20 knowledge points kind of banked up and you're looking to see where to put it you can play around with putting it into different areas to see how that impacts your average profit per Craft um and so you can simulate all different types of knowledge points all different types of crafting within this this menu uh to see what your best options are for short short-term long-term profit whatever your goals are the final major tab I want to discuss with craft Sim is going to be the craft Q tab uh so craft Q is an incredibly powerful tool for anybody that does uh bulk crafting or just crafts a lot of different items uh so essentially with the craft Cube box if you click add open recipe it is going to take a snapshot of all the materials you have selected in your crafting menu the the the gear that you have have equipped and it's going to add that all into the craft Sim craft que so later on when we're going through and doing the crafting assuming we're we're actually crafting the items through this craft queue as well it is going to have us match whatever we had on with uh when we added the recipe so um like with elemental Harmony you want to wear a multicraft tool but let's say I added the recipe and I was wearing a resourcefulness tool once I get around to actually crafting the elemental Harmony through the craft queue it would make me equip the resourcefulness tool because that's the tool I had on when I added this recipe so you want to make sure that you have all the correct materials selected and you have the correct gear on when you go through and add your recipes to your crafting queue but once you have added those those different items to your crafting queue uh you can click this little pencil here if you want to make any sort of adjustments to um what you're doing so if you wanted to change one of the material ranks or if you wanted to change uh the gear uh you could optimize profit or you could even select different finishing reagents um so that just allows you to make any final adjustments to this actual cued craft if you needed to um but let's just say I wanted to craft 100 Elemental harmonies for the time being so I would put in 100 into the total number that I want to craft and this is this next part is really where the the powerful of the powerfulness of this tool really comes into play so if you have auctionator you can just click create auctionator shopping list and as you see here it just automatically does a shopping scan and it's it's a shopping scan for every single material I need to complete the crafts in this menu so let's say I had a whole bunch of different gems in this crafting menu it would have me get the crafting materials necessary for every single gem craft now as you can see on on the actual Auction House side of the menu over here it's saying malag we need 100 y simal well we need 100 of every single crafting material and then because it's got the the amount needed the quantity on this side when I click malite it's just automatically going to autofill the quantity needed so if I did go through and I selected a whole bunch of different items for for crafting and then I come in and I do a shopping schem and I can just quickly go down the list of every single item one by one buy out go to the next buy out go to the next buy out and I don't have to do the mental math of how many of a particular material I need um I don't have to try to figure out uh what rank materials to buy again because craft Sim has has taken care of all of that for me um so this craft Q just really like speeds the process of crafting up tremendously uh and it's it's an incredibly powerful Tool uh so the craft Q is is certainly one that I would recommend using uh pretty much every single chance you get to finish this off I'm just going to do a highle overview of a couple other sections within craft Sim that I use on uh somewhat basis but not not super often uh the first one is going to be price overrides so I previously had a price override in for Primal convergence so you might notice now that my profit per craft is lower than than previous Clips in this video um that's because I removed my my previous price override so when we look at Elemental harmonies in particular Primal convergent is the most expensive crafting material for Elemental harmonies uh so what I will do uh a lot of times is I will actually craft the Primal convergence because a lot of times it's actually profitable to craft these just themselves uh so when I craft the Primal convergence I will then you know figure out what that costs per Primal convergent for me and then I can come into the elemental Harmony and price override and I can put my cost per Primal convergent versus the auction house so let's just say my cost per Primal convergent was 125 gold I can go ahead and input that and click save and so now you'll see that my profit per craft has gone back up to what it originally was saying roughly 65 gold per craft and that's because I'm getting the Primal convergence for15 gold per as opposed to 168 gold and 10 silver per and that's because I was the one crafting it um but you could do this for for uh the gyms as well or or any other things let's say you did a bunch of prospecting and got all the gyms yourself um then you could come in and uh that if you manage to figure out what that costs you per gem you could override those prices um so that that would be what price override is is used for but like I was saying I I don't use it super often um just because you know like I kind of know um like if if I'm crafting Primal convergence at profit and I know that Elemental harmonies are all so profitable I don't I don't really care too much to see what that average profit is per craft because I just know that I'm I'm making money per craft so like what the actual specific dollar amount is per craft is not something that I'm as worried about so I don't mess with you know price overrides nearly as much as you know some of these other craft Sim menus uh and then the final menu that I I really think is is relevant here is going to be recipe scan uh so if if you have crafting or professions that you've had for multiple expansions and you've kind of built up a backlog of different recipes or even if you just have current expansion recipes you could do this recipe scan and this will scan every single recipe you've currently got and it will tell you if they're profitable so I did a recipe scan for inscription and it's telling me that a bundle of cards is average profit is 138 gold runed rybark is 27 gold um so this is a good way to get an idea especially if you're starting out in your professions it's a very good way to get an idea of what things you can craft to to make profit on um and you can do this for all of your professions um and it's even got you know other characters that you can do scans for so you can kind of just get an idea um for all of your characters just in one go um so if you're wanting to get an idea again of of what options you have for profit with your current professions you can use this recipe scan option or or section uh for that uh but that kind of covers everything that I use craft Sim 4 I I I do hope that you found this helpful and uh you were able to follow along I apologize if you were not um but craft Sim is a very value valuable and Powerful tool um it does take some time to get used to uh so my recommendation would be is just to play with it um if if you're nervous about you know what it the accuracy of it you could start out uh just doing smaller quantity of crafts just to kind of work your way into craft Sim and gain some trust with it uh but it's a a very powerful tool and um if you start using this tool the way that I do and if you're in the markets that I'm in um you really should start to see uh this this add-on payoff and and be profitable for you uh so I hope you all enjoyed uh please feel free to leave comment or or feedback in the comments um I do stream on Twitch it's twitch.tv semicolon 23 I do plan on uh having some TSM strings available soon um and possibly going in over uh specifically what I use TSM for um so if you think that would be something you'd like to see let me know uh or if you have any other specific video ideas that you you would like to see uh you can certainly let me know as well but uh again thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a great rest of your day see you
