how to START a diesel tractor that “DOESN’T wanna start” (4500 Ford tractor)

our diesel tractor just stopped working it felt like what happened is it ran out of fuel but it's not out of fuel here's our fuel gauge you dip this into the tank and if it's below this line then it could be should be too low on fuel and it could stop because of that and then this is whenever it's full so if it's in between here we've got good fuel and we do and we can check we'll take off our fuel cap and you can see we've got plenty of fuel we'll start going through the process of elimination and first we're going to check our fuel system so we're going to remove this cap at the bottom of the fuel tank and we should see fuel come out and if no fuel comes out that means we have a blockage in the line wow look at that and no fuel is coming out of here i mean other than just a few drops this should be gushing out this this fuel tank is halfway full so we've probably got a blockage up here at the bottom of the tank we're gonna try fixing this without removing the tank we're gonna take this hose here hook it up to that t and then blow in it at the opposite direction and see if we can knock that clog loose i'm gonna get it in there nice and tight now we'll blow in this end and hopefully we can break it loose now that's what we want to see look at that it's all coming out of this hose so we're gonna pull this out and then replug this up that's how it should flow out this is also a fuel shut off valve so you can't take it all the way until it tightens you just need to get it in there until it seals to bleed all the injectors and get the air out it's a lot of work but just using starting fluid or ether is a lot easier to get it running again so first we need to remove the air filter which is pretty easy to get to and spray a little bit into the intake let's reinstall the filter [Laughter] well it wanted to go but we have to run a cord out here so we can charge the battery well we don't have enough extension cords and it's about 20 feet away now hopefully this jumper is going to give us enough power and we're also going to give it another shot of ether that was closer let's just give it a little bit more starting fluid well this wasn't quite enough power we have one more extension cord but it's broken so we're gonna have to fix that before he can get it out here we wired a receptacle onto the end of this extension cord we're gonna get the right parts but we just need to get this tractor jump started so we can move it closer to the house let's turn it on we'll change the function to jump start so it started we might have to clean the tank to get the rest of the debris out of the tank but right now it works
