How to: Signature Add-on for Google Forms

[Music] what's up everybody i just want to show you really quickly how to set up the signature add-on for google forms so the first thing that you're going to want to do is install it so just go up here to the top right hand corner and go down to the add-ons and then up here in the search bar just type in signature and you'll see it right here i've already installed it but uh you'll want to go ahead and do that and i think you just have to give it a few permissions and then you should be good to go so i already have a form built here and i'm just going to run you through it really quickly there's obviously a lot of different ways that you can set this up so that's up to you but the way i've set it up is they click the class that their student is in or that they're in they tell me if they're a student or a parent and then it'll take them to a page depending on who is who so let's go ahead and set up the signature option so up here on the add-ons button you'll see signature and when i click that you'll see this these options and you just want to click on start and then over here it gives you all your different types of signature options and the single signature is if you have one form and you need one signature from like one person so obviously we're not going to use that one the signature's classic i'll tell you about that this one would work really well if you have one form with one name and you just need a bunch of signatures where mine has like a name for a student and a parent it's not going to work as well and so i'm going to go with the multiple signatures new so this next box here just says if you want to set a limit for how many signatures i'm not and i'm going to click submit now you'll see this if you haven't already set up a response destination so i haven't done that and so what i'm going to do i'll click back here i'm going to go to my responses and set up a spreadsheet where all of those can go to hit create now i can hit this submit again hit confirm so now in the bottom you'll see this signature question that they'll be able to use i'm going to actually make this in a new section because right now it's on the parents section but i'm going to have this so that students and parents both go there all right so i got this new section here had to do some moving around and then i'm just going to drag this signature option down to there and then it's required and that's pretty much it so once i have all this set up then i have to use this link to get to the signature form it's not the same link as if i was to just go up to send and then copy and paste this link that's not the link you want to use this link right here and it copies it as soon as you click on it and then i'm just going to open up a new tab and show you what this does all right so you'll see this green show signature page up here so let me just run through this so if i'm a parent filling this out okay i've got digital media i'm a parent i'm going to put in their student name i'm going to put in your name hit next now what it says it says use the green button at the top left of the page so i click here and it takes me to this signature and i can just type in my signature and this is where it gets maybe just a little complicated i'm going to click finish signing and i want to just confirm that now i have to copy and paste a link to the signature so just click copy then click return to form and then i just paste that what i copied right in there and i hit submit so now let me show you what it looks like on the response end so here's the spreadsheet with the responses and then i click on this link and it takes me right to that form gives me a time stamp tells me all the information and then gives me that signature so that's how you set up the signature add-on for google forms and it's a good option to get something maybe a little more official for your signatures and uh hope it works for you if you have any questions please leave comments below and we'll see you next time
