hello so today i'm going to do a quick little video on how i sculpt heads this is how i've sculpt all of my commercial models and how i scope my personal when you're sculpting you're gonna make sure you want to separate the tongue so you don't accidentally deform those sculpting the mouth select p selection so now it is a separate mesh you see here and then you're gonna separate your iris your eyes and now your eyebrows you're gonna do your eyebrows separate and these little eyelid things so now you have your head separated the way it needs to be teeth eyebrows eyelids and then the eyes where i start is i go in with my desired eye shape make sure it's mirrored you want your face to be symmetrical and not yeah press the x up here enable mesh symmetry and sculpt your eyes however you like i usually keep my strength on point four and i use a bigger brush usually press f to scale it so i'm going to go ahead and speed up the process but i do highly recommend you get familiar with the tools along the left side that whole column so you kind of get a better understanding of how to use them just play around with them get to know them now after sculpting the lips i like to pull the face mesh a little bit longer and bring the mouth up and because i like bigger lashes i go ahead and separate the lash mesh so i press tab on the head make sure all the lashes are selected you're gonna press p now your eyes are separate go to object mode select your eyelashes select the whole thing and you can press scale and i use the [Music] z-axis and make them a bit bigger and then press gz to move them up i join them back to the head and now that looks like the desired shape i'm looking for all right and now i'm gonna go ahead and sculpt the eyebrows what i like to do is go to edit mode select the eyebrows i like to make them thicker for one so grab that z-axis again and thick go to scope mode make sure you have mirror symmetry and start going to town so now i'm going to do this little eyelet piece from there you can just tweak how you want your head to look also once i edit this little eyelid piece i don't really mind if it's a little in the skin i join it back to the head and keep sculpting my desired eye look and just keep messing around until you're happy with the result now you're going to want to check your blend shapes so you're going to join everything back to the head so once i did that i'm gonna press tab i'm gonna press this show overlays off so i can see my head and you're gonna go through all the shape keys that are in this triangle object data properties go to your shape keys and go through and check your blend shapes which the mouth is pretty fine because we separated the teeth and tongue the blank looks good looks like everything is working correctly so that say one of the blend shapes is broken you would just have to go in and manually sculpt it or edit it like to say this eyelash is too low you just select your eyelash and drag it so now that'll be more up but yeah that is the basics of how you sculpt heads thank you for your time i'm going to be releasing a substance painter beginners video soon and we'll be going into the basics and how to use substance entirely thank you you
