How to remove the speed limiter on an E bike

in this video I'm going to show you how to quickly and easily remove the speed limitation on a Bosch performance line CX motor this is a smart system motor the only thing you're going to need to do this mod is this little magnet depending on your bike you may either have a rim magnet mounted on the spoke or on the disc on this particular bike the sensor is located behind the disc so I'm going to go ahead and get the wheel removed to get access to the sensor next you'll want to remove the sensor itself mine was installed right here with one Allen screw to take it out depending on your bike you may or may not have to fish wires through the frame um on this one it did go through the stay and into the seat tube here and it was NE necessary for me to loosen the motor bolts and drop it down a little bit so that I could pull that excess cable through after you get the excess cables then you'll just want to relocate the sensor so that instead of lining up with the rim magnet it actually lines up with your crank arm and what I did was I just stuck a magnet to the pedal itself on the spindle and then just Lin the sensor up so that it passes by the pedal and then on the sensor side I just use double stick tape once I got the position position lined up to where it was reading on the display then I will come back and do some extra wraps of electrical tape or something like that just to keep it from getting knocked off depending on your bike and the gap between the crank arm and the sensor if you need more space you can always add another magnet in there now with the pedal spinning it picks up the speed off the crank arm instead of the wheel so essentially completely removing the speed limitation one thing to note is that the speedometer of course will read inaccurately at about 30 mph on this bike it reads about 7 and 1 12 M an hour and keep in mind that mods like this are for [Music] all and to fall all your local laws regarding ebike speed limits and things like that thanks for watching
