hey everybody what's up I just wanted to let you all in on how to remove and install one of these guys are they're called ear style clamps and they are unfortunately a one-and-done sort of thing and they look factory and they're really cool and but unfortunately they're not easily removed so what I'm going to do is I'm going to be replacing these accordion style you know air intake ones with some straight ones that I got from England unfortunately there aren't too many performance mods that you can do with these four points these four point two liter v8 outtie motors that come in are eight without kind of going full you know full turbo or full supercharged without kind of really diving heavy into the motor and engine work so not a lot of bolt ons for these cars so this is kind of one of the only things we can really do so these come with these ear style plants that's what they're called took me a while to figure that out what exactly their name was but like I said they're one and done and you can use two different tools to install them one is a pair of pliers like so where you grab them like this and pinch real hard there's another way to do it if you don't have that special tool you can use a set of side cutters wire cutters that will also do the same thing like so the problem with that though is you dull up your blade and and these you know start to get chipped over time so let's pry one of them off and I'll show you how to uninstall them so here's one of them and unfortunately once we do this they are no longer reusable so while they do look factory they are pretty much done though after the first removal see if I can kill T I can hold the camera at the same time and pry this up don't think I'm going to be able to hold on alright took a little bit of trying to get it to go just take there we go and that good angle on it there so you can see they just come right apart I think so I'm going to pry the tube off here in a second foot pull it off so you can see it got to get past this little little tab right there please got a pry on the bad guy right there got our pulled off here basically it goes back in the same way I'm going to put it so I have the tab here where it's easy to pry off again I'm going to go ahead and put the tube on and I will use my clamp style pliers to get this just like this snug up there a tad that's the word I was looking for just just a good hand squeeze there you go done and done I'll give you a quick close-up good focus is there we go that's it I'm going to get back to putting these tubes back on hopefully they'll provide a little bit more better airflow you can see my little phone stand here I built in a Lego put that to the side we're basically going to have to take the air box move it back slightly so that these can snug right up so hopefully this should improve air flow a little bit in a proof that'll response yeah maybe horsepower to never expected much but that's all about driving experience right so this can you know give a little bit more throttle response than sweet anyway thanks for watching have a good one well looky looky what I found look like somebody Pryor put in some KN filters for me these any cheap and of course you know their carbon fiber some sort of replica fiber but yeah that stuff ain't cheap alright this is good stuff I had to remove the top of the air box to be able to get this in because you know debt don't work so I'm just going to go ahead and call this one good all right I'm pretty impressed and by the time you see me again this should all be done alright fellas one last thing before before I let you go here pretty much all done all installed but I will tell you if you ever ever want to get this off again make sure that you have this side here showing because it is a giant check I am painting the jellies to try and get this clamp to unhook from the backside which which it was signed up having to pull the whole thing this whole thing off and then prying at it again so I'm just going to make a lot easier put a little put the tab right here so that I can get to it later if I ever need to take it off I'll probably replace it with a web gear clamp at some point but there you go we are in the homestretch thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe
