HOW TO RECOVER LOST PALWORLD DEDICATED SERVER DATA!?!?!?!?!?

all right guys I'm going to teach you a little something about power world dedicated servers they are a tricky tricky some so let's say you and your buddies have a dedicated server that you have been wanting that you got off the night before and then you just left it running try to get some more materials like ore or coal or wood or whatever you need needed you just left it running to get more of that but let's say a storm like what happened to me and aitz knocks out your computer in the middle of the night and you didn't know and you ended up losing all your server progress so let's just say you log in like I just did and this is a dedicated server from your own computer and you're like oh no everything's gone I lost everything what happened why am I seeing these Pals on my screen right now but forget just pretend everything's gone okay so what we're going to do is we're going to return the title and I'm going to teach you step by step on how to well I should say we are going to teach you step by step on how to fix the issue fix the issue so you're going to quit game you're going to go here St well first you're going to stop your server thank you oshit you should I should have I should have stop your server completely go to browse local files now what you're going to do here after you browse local files if you can't tell we have been trying our asses off to get this so couple hours it is what it is so we're going to go into pal whenever you open up your PO World server from the Steam app by uh browsing local files go to Pal go to save games and what you're going to do is you're going to move not copy move your save games from your pal server to the desktop okay do not copy because if you copy and you launch up a newer server after you do all this what will most likely end up happening is you will spawn in as a a new character and you still lose all your progression still lose all your progression but you just have the rest of the like everything you've explored of the map will most likely still be there you won't have any fast travel points you won't have any of your character progression or anything along that those lines so after you moved your save games to your desktop go to Common you you want to right click and delete the pow server folder completely delete it get that Compu here's another reason why you want to do that because if you just delete it from Steam redownload it and launch it again it's going to use the same power World server it's going to use the same files that you had on your computer the one ones that messed up are not your saved games but something we'll show you later on so what then after you delete the power World server folder you're going to uninstall then you're going to reinstall the server the dedicated server app doesn't matter where just as long as you have space matter doesn't matter where as long as you got space for it sorry for the awkward silence we're just waiting for it to download I was going to something [Music] like so once it's downloaded what you're going to do is you're going to browse local files again I'm going to close that one out so you see all of this stuff here which I'm also this is also going to be a teaching video on actually how to set up your server but I'm pretty sure you already know how to set up your server if you've done so already if you already if you clicked on this video already done that if you clicked on this video you already know how to set up a server uh you're just looking to get back what you've lost so this is what you will see you will not see save saved here what you have to do I'mma actually pull that back up so it it shows you actually I'm gonna minimize this bring it over here hopefully yall will still be able to see that I will half and half the screen real quick so you see what happens all right so once I hit launch usually you want to play as a dedicated server because you don't unless you want it to be seen by the community you usually run it as a dedicated server so once it launches as you see the save game the saved file pops up wait for it to load until you see I amgi if you don't that's that will become issues later on down the line so once you have done that what you want to do is close the server make sure it stops so now that this is happened what I want you to do is going to your save games go into the O folder and stop here what I want you then to do is to go into config on your new let me stop you right there Anarchy so in faceless or faceless uh so that uh folder right there under o that is your world file it's your world and character files so everything you had on that world character progression the world itself every base you had every everything you had is underneath that file so now that he explained that and interrupted so I will go back to here that was a necessary explanation I said interrupted because that is a necessary Interruption I was not meaning it in a bad way so once you launch the server up and everything go to saved go to config go to Windows Server come down to you're want to go down to game user settings game user settings I and I so what I want you to do is to look only at this line here don't worry about anything else except for the dedicated server name now the reason why we need to do that is because now what we're going to do is I'm going to move this over a little bit so if you see the dedicated server name right does that series of numbers and letters does not match your world file and this will actually end up causing you to spawn in as a completely new character at this point on a completely different map on a completely different server at as what it acts like so what you do is you delete this right here go step by step as I do it delete this come over here left click on it once don't open the folder just click on it once right click go to rename then we want to right click again on it without changing anything and hit copy and we come over here here and hit under the dedicated to the right of the dedicated Surfer name after the equal sign after the equal sign hit paste and this is really important because most people will probably skip right over it save it save it save it save it for please save it and do not come into the comment section saying it doesn't work because you didn't save it then you exit now that you have done so if you want to go ahead and do the actual server setup which I'm pretty sure you already know how to do you can go and do that at this step in the process point so I will show you how to do that just in case other people do not know how to copy everything from this open parentheses or bracket it's a bracket this Open Bracket to everything the best way to do it is to hit this and drag it down at a diagonal like that copy close pal saved config Windows Server po R settings ini I paste paste so I'm going to quickly go in and put in the server stuff that me and OSH Fitz and our cousin does because we've already played and beat the game essentially legitly and we we've lost multiple servers what we like to do is actually go to here pal egg time hatch where did that just go pal egg default hatching time what I like to run if you want to make it instant is to go here press zero delete the 72 put in zero but here's the thing you cannot leave all those values zero because it will make the game freak out every time you put an egg in it will freak out and you will not be able to hatch your eggs so what I like to do is go to the second to last zero on the right delete it and put a one and then I will put in the other stuff later but as you probably already know from doing your own stuff just put in whatever settings you want put in whatever settings you want name it right here server name server description admin password say uh server password whatever whatever you want whatever you need put it in but if you're going to be playing with people make sure to put your public IP which would be your personal IP for your device into this area I didn't say that why did you do that yeah so you will go to public IP and put your public IP here in between the quotations in between the quotations I'm not going to put it in there because I don't trust people it is what it is save cool now that you have all of that done what you want to do is go back to save and this step is real simple take your save games drag it and drop and drop all you need to do that's all you need to do at this point you are basically done yeah so what you do is out on my ex out of that come back over to Pal server the best way to launch it is through the actual pal server folder yes you can launch it from Steam but you will have more issues launching it from Steam than the PO server.exe in the PO server folder so boom I launched it up then you go back into the steam go to power world play as the game is loading up down here your friends will need your IP but for you having your own server on your computer you all you got to do is hit connect that's all you got to do very simple and then boom you have your old Power World server with everything even an updated version as you see in the bottom right hand corner over here the current update right here the one that just dropped the night of recording so that is exactly how you do your pal server what should we do this recovery yeah recovery power old server recovery well power dedicated recovery dedicated can't forget the dedicated power dedicated server recovery we wish you a good night don't forget to dedicate it that will save you a lot of time and headach in relationships okay that's it uh for real though all seriousness I I'm making this video as a guide because there's going to be a lot of people out there that don't know what to do just like myself and I would like to give a huge thanks to Mr bam gaming Studios he didn't necessarily show us how to do said this process from Windows to Windows but he did give us inspiration to go in go in and figure out the windows to Windows version cuz he does a great Windows to Linux version so if you're on Linux go check his video out but he he has a video he has a
