behind ranking up there are seven fundamentals you absolutely must know if you can learn how to master all seven you will climb the ranks like no one else and he will with hard work be able to reach whatever rank you want to accomplish the problem a ton of talented players encounter is that they Master two or three of the fundamentals to the very highest extent but suck at the remaining four ending in them having an unbalanced skill set that in turn makes them have a lower rank compared to what they actually deserve without the too much let's get into the First Fundamental the First Fundamental of seven is aim but how in the world do you master aim do you become better than most from simply just playing rank ton the answer is generally no and I'll tell you exactly what you need to do to get better aim than so to say everyone getting good aim comes down to understanding two main Essentials repetitions and the quality of those repetitions if you're someone who only has a few hours to play every week for example 7 hours your aim will not become good from playing ranked this is because if you play an hour a day on average you'll Max have time to play two ranked games a day in these two games you might get 40 kills in total meaning 40 successful repetitions of aiming whereas if you play a 1 hour of Death Match you might end up getting over 200 successful reps of aiming of course there is no denying that the quality of those 40 reps in ranked will be higher than in Deathmatch when playing ranked you're playing in a competitive environment against other people who probably try quite a lot harder than in deathmatch and of course it's in the actual game mode we want to succeed in but there's a very fine line between how much Death Match you should play and how much ranked you should play depending on how many hours you have to play every day and here it is if you have 1 hour to play every day you should play Deathmatch for 30 minutes and play one ranked match for the remaining 30 this will be a faster way to rank up compared to just playing ranked given how much better of an individual player you'll become from playing these 30 minutes of Deathmatch today if you have 2 hours to play every day you should play Deathmatch for 40 minutes and spend your remaining 80 minutes playing ranked on 2 hours you should also spend some of your time practicing unique weapons like the guardian sheriff and I would also strongly recommend spending some time on the Range using ultimates like jet knives now on 3 hours you yet again play 10 more minutes than on 2 hours you play Deathmatch for 50 minutes a day you might be wondering exactly why important to play that much deathmatch and it's simply because of the fact that if you want to get unique results like ranking up faster than anyone else you need to practice in a unique manner too if you follow the same routine like the majority of other players it will be very hard for you to stand out unless of course you're exceptionally talented so that's why we spend so much time perfecting our aim by playing Deathmatch for all following hours you add an additional 10 minutes to your death match practice so 4 hours is 60 Minutes 5 is 70 680 and so forth naturally if you notice after spending some weeks grinding Deathmatch that your aim is no longer anywhere near a weakness of yours then you can comfortably spend less time playing Deathmatch every day what I currently do is simply warming up with a deathmatch round or two and then in between every single ranked match I play I do at least one death match so that I get locked in and ready for my next game this strategy has actually proved to be very effective in minimizing terrible games I no longer have those matches where I completely drone out for the vast majority of my comp games I stay relatively consistent and I think that's much thanks to simply just taking a breather between matches before moving on this video is sponsored movement is a topic people very often neglect when it comes to practicing everyone has heard one tip when it comes to movement and that is unbinding Crouch when playing death match and although this is a genuinely good tip to almost automatically become a harder Target to it there's so much more to mastering movement than not crouching for example when peeking an angle a lot of mid- tier players don't know that you move drastically faster when only holding either a or D on your keyboard compared to making the mistake of holding a w and D or a when peeking the speed being faster when peaking will make you a much harder Target to hit so obviously a great thing learning to Peak by only holding a or D can be quite challenging and it shouldn't be used in every situation however if you're hard clearing an angle that that people very often play Then following this simple movement tip will up your chances of succeeding by quite a few percentage points it's also way more effective using only a and d when playing Jets knives if you hold W and D for instance to strafe sideways you'll be by no means an easy target to it but a lot easier compared to if you strafe that very same angle by just holding D doing this with jets ult makes you an ultra Hard Target to hit and you'll have more than enough time to line up a per perfect one tap when doing this another movement flaw that I see from literal Immortals too is that they don't wait for their team to push with them if you're the one entering a site you need to make sure that your team has the opportunity open to instantly trade you but a lot of people go in Solo and make that job three times harder for their teammates when entering a site whether it be with jet Raina or any other dualist or agent for that matter look at the map and make sure your teammates are close to you because dying as a dualist and not giving your teammates the opportunity for an easy trade is a flaw that makes you a worse player and as a result you'll win less ranked games because of this understanding what sound you give out when moving is also an easy tip to instantly become just a little bit better A lot of players start shifting way too early when going for a flank this will often cause the flank to have worse timing compared to if you just understand when to start slow walking to find out when you should start shifting simply look at the mini map the white circle around your agent indicates how far away opponents can hear your steps this circle goes away as soon as you start shifting using this is especially easy on for example split when you want to go for a fast a push into B flank all these small fixes in your gam playay is what is going to make you different to everyone else if you can Master just one thing like this every week you'll have 52 things that you've mastered within a year and you'll be pretty good because of it now when talking about shifting I also want to mention that I see a lot of players swinging an angle shifting this is not how you should swing an angle you should swing an angle confidently preferably by only holding your a or D button for the most velocity possible moving on to fundamental number three we have understanding your role and I think most people understand that if you decide to play Jet you're supposed to be the one entry fragging and if you pick Sage you're supposed to be the one who stays alive and is available when someone needs healing however being able to play a role to a high standard comes down to so much more than that if you're for instance playing an agent that has flashes tell your dualist that you can Flash him in when he goes for entry frags if you're playing smokes tell your team exactly how you're smoking a sight so that they can make an easy entry and if you're playing a dualist let your teammates know that you're going in fast from the start or that you're pushing at for example 1 minute left on the clock so that they know exactly when you're full committing and that they're ready to trade and set the team up for Success what I very often see in ranked is five players playing as five individuals rather than one team and of course when solo queing it's not weird that this happens from time to time but if you're able to make the team play together your win rate will also drastically Skyrocket because of this skill the reality is that if you're able to play together with just one agent on your team consistently when pushing a sight play in an angle or playing an after plant your chance of succeeding will become higher so make it at a habit and actively thinking about the fact that you should use your teammate's abilities will over time make you much much better this is something that does not come automatically though you need to force yourself time and time again to tell your Sky to flash you out or to tell your ustra to smoke a certain position and the more you do this the more natural it becomes and before you know it you'll have reached a high rank where you're able to consistently perform the fourth fundamental you need to master is game sense and in order to improve it your first step is trusting your intuition one massive flaw I see in a ton of players who have a lot of potential is that they don't trust their intuition when for example playing a clutch let me paint a picture you're in a 1v2 clutch in your own head you're very confident to peek an angle and take a fight versus one of the players you're against but your team is telling you to play time and play it safe and because you're just a tiny bit insecure you listen to your team and don't go for what your intuition tells you what ends up happening is that you play time and you get run down by both of the players and your chance of winning is almost at zero you might get one but quickly after you get traded by the other opponent on the other side if you would have trusted your intuition and not listened to your teammates you would have gotten the first kill and had a 1 V one to play out that would have been way easier to win than a 1v2 where you had to play time in addition to this if you're inconsistent in how often you trust your intuition you won't have confidence in trusting it to make the right call for you in important rounds so in order to improve game sense I strongly recommend always trusting your intuition and naturally in the beginning chances are you will fail but if you're someone who already has clogged in a few hundred hours and you play at a relatively high level already chances are you'll actually be a better player instantly because it is one simple new way of playing I also got a note one of the most important tips I've ever received and that is just because you make a play that doesn't work out that doesn't mean it wasn't a good play and I feel like a lot of players have this mindset that if a play works it's a good play and if a play doesn't work it's a bad play but that is not how improving inv valerant works you always got to play a game that has the highest probability to work out and if you can almost always do that you'll be a better player than the vast majority it's really all risk management and acting upon the correct risks without hesitating as soon as you see them another key element in getting better game understanding is using your sound properly when listening for Footsteps in any situation one massive mistake players make is having their headset plugged into their ax input on their PC instead of the USB slot for the same headset this mistake is possible to make on most popular headsets like for example the hyperx sets and the logitechg pro headsets so make sure you're always connected via USB and not ax with your gaming headsets this will make the sound image at least five times better the audio delay on USB is also many times lower than on the ax imput and listening for footsteps will instantly become easier now talking about sound I also want to mention a slightly controversial take and that is the fact that if you want to get really good you should never ever play with music now hear me out because this may sound crazy let's say player a plays 4 hours every day he plays with music on and is not able to fully focus on the sound when he's playing so his understanding of where sounds are coming from is good but not perfect in addition the music takes away a tiny bit of focus when he's playing his 4 hours his quality of practice is not perfect either due to him enjoying listening to music player B on the other side has one go in mind he plays to become the best possible player he can be he also plays for 4 hours every day and never plays with music on he makes an effort to ensure that all of his hours on the game are quality practice and as a result this player over the span of a few months given the same level of talent will become slightly better than player a and as the months progress their skill Gap will only be getting bigger this is all thanks to his practice quality being slightly better now this is a super Niche thing and is probably only applicable for 1% of you guys watching who have dreams of either reaching radiant or full on playing professionally as I've said earlier in this video if you want unique results you need to practice in a unique manner too by following this strategy You'll Play in a way that is really hard for others to follow and of course if you enjoy playing with music on that is totally fine but I just wanted to get you guys to reflect upon whether or not it's worth it for your current situation moving on to the fifth fundamental we have one thing that will set you far part in the lower ranks especially and that is being able to master utility mastering utility is exceptionally difficult there are hundreds of lineups you can learn oneway Smokes on so to say all the different maps and spots you can either updraft to or reach with another set of utility that another agent has but the truth of the matter is that if you follow one very simple learning rule you'll be able to get top tier utility usage on any one of your favorite agents you see when it comes to using your utility people think about an agent's utility as one and never look at each of the individual abilities the agent possess let me give you an example jet is the agent with the most how-to videos on YouTube and although a lot of jet how-to videos include basic information about the smoke for example very few videos really go in depth about this one individual ability meaning it will be hard to master Jets smokes from a video alone so taking some time if jet is your preferred agent to understand 100% how the smokes alone work will be worth it especially if your goal is Immortal and radiant because I play Jet so much myself I'll actually give you some simple jet smoke tips you can follow Jet's smoke lasts for 4.5 seconds from when it lands it can be curved if you continuously hold your smoke button by using Mouse movements to place it wherever you desire if you see a chamber trap a killjoy turret alarm trap or if SAA throws a dart at you you can use the smoke to not get tagged as these abilities won't get activated as as long as they don't see an opposing agent therefore jet smoke is perfect to prevent them another way I love using the smoke is creating a one-way angle this can easily be done by simply throwing a smoke at a slightly elevated spot so that you can only see your opponent's feet if your enemies decided to Peak you when the smoke is placed you'll get a major advantage as you can see them long before they can see you this is also an amazing smoke to play in an after plan situation as those 4.5 seconds potentially times two can be a total game Cher but when it comes to you trying to retake a site I prefer to use the smoke to dash into it this creates a ton of space and is especially good if you're able to do a 3v3 retake for example naturally combining the smoke with updrafts and dashes to get into a sight is the perfect way to become a good entry Fragger but I'll leave the updrafts up to all of you guys watching so that you have something to do after this video is finished as well this method of learning abilities is super effective on any agent whether it be gecko Jets or sky and if you follow it you'll be better at using util than most others in your rank in no time so stop neglecting that one ability that you're just not using and start a road to mastering it the sixth fundamental demands way less work than mastering utility and that is understanding the importance of maintaining a good mentality I can't even begin to talk about how many games I've won from being down 84 93 or even 102 from simply just saying to the team that we can do this now I don't know about most of you guys watching but when the score is 84 and I've already spent 20 minutes in a valerant game I'm not going to just throw those 20 minutes out of the window without trying to make a comeback I don't have time like that so having a good mentality is a must in my eyes of course there is an exception to every Rule and this one right here is no different and unfortunately I'm not always kept a good mentality but it's something I strive towards as my goal is always reaching the highest RR I possibly can in every act that is what I enjoy and if you're like me and really want to reach a new Peak whether it be you going from plat to Diamond or Immortal to radiant it doesn't matter but trying your best to maintain a good mentality will help you in getting there it can often be as simple as just saying sorry guys my bad when a teammate starts flaming the team taking the blame whether it was your fault or not is a great way to neutralize a potential throw from one of your teammates sure he might get mad at you and call you a name or two but in most cases it will better the situation you're in the seventh and final fundamental is clear communication now this may sound incredibly weird and you might think you won't see much ranked progress Because of You mastering top tier communication but let me tell you you undeniably will whenever you tag an opponent you say for example Omen is tagged 120 but when you enter a site and see two opponents do you say to your team Omen and K joyan site or do you just say two here because there's a major difference in these two and if you want to get top tier communication you should say the agent that you have spotted on sight this way your team will know whether or not they have cleared sight when they have gotten those two kills the simple rule of clear communication will make you a much easier player to play with and if you're able to give call outs of every spot and tell exactly what agent is where you're well on your way to mastering clear communication if you're unsure what any spot on the map is called using the map will in most scenarios give you the right answer although some people will have different names for different spots and of course the more you play the more naturally these callouts will come to you clear communication is also never being the playeress I think how many times have you not been in a 1 V one clutch and a dude on your team says I think he's coming from behind and because of this call out you play the entire situation differently because of course you're going to trust your teammate's call out well what ends up happening when your teammate says the words I think is that that thing doesn't happen and you're left losing the clutch because of extremely unclear communication if you have to say I think before making a call don't make that call be 100% sure and confident when giving out coms your teammates and rank will thank you if you're a able to master all these seven fundamentals you'll be an extremely well-rounded player and as a result you'll undeniably reach the very highest ranks this game has to offer heck you might even be able to pursue a lucrative career playing this game competitively guys let me know what you think about the video in the comments below and consider liking if you enjoyed
