How to Play Hardcore WoW | Hardcore Classic Starter Guide

I am so excited for World of Warcraft hardcore this has been really fun to dive into this thing there's been a huge Resurgence and uh comeback of all this thing mainly in classic wow there is a version of this in Wrath Village King shoot you could do this rule set in retail right now all this is and that's what I'm going to be talking about in this video is explaining to you what is Hardcore what are the rules and if it's interesting enough for you to play I'm also going to get into how to play for yourself and you can do this right now and then I'm going to dive in to the actual game so getting right into it this is the first thing you're going to need this is the website it's classichc.net done simple enough they also have a Discord you can get on there they also have a ton of communities we'll talk about that in a second but this is the website and I'm just going to take you through uh the guilds first of all of where you can go there's a guild section at the top and it shows all the Guilds of Alliance horde where to go all that kind of stuff the servers of what you're going to be going on and all that kind of stuff but first we're going to get into the rules before we get into how to play and stuff the rule here are intense and oh my God I love them I'm going to give you an overview you can come in here read them yourself but the biggest one and the big picture overall is don't die and don't get any help that's it right that's pretty much the big picture but to go into each one of these so you really know what you're getting yourselves into if you die you delete your character done simple enough and if you're worried about how do people keep track of this there's an add-on we'll get into that as well there's an add-on that keeps this all up to date and keeps track of all these things and can verify or not your character and if you're doing all these things so if you want to be legit about it there's no sorts of lion and there's an accountability system in the form of an add-on so if you die you delete your character simple enough gear and items all the gear new items you either have to create it yourself or do it during quests or get drops from Dungeons and there's some big rules and dungeons we'll get to here in a second but you can't go to the auction house that's another big thing right here Auction House you cannot go to the auction house you cannot buy things off the auction house you can't even trade with other players again you cannot get help help from other people on the auction house help from trade people opening trade chats a mage trading you conjured water nope nope nope you can't do any of it no trading right professions sure confessions completely allowed talents completely allowed of course right Buffs from players this is an interesting one you can't ask a player can I get a buff or can you give me a fort buff from a priest you can't ask for them if you just happen to cross paths and someone throws it on you cool it's not like you could have stopped that it's all fine but you can't go around asking for Buffs or purposely trying to get Buffs to then go do content for the so you don't die Etc uh so you can't ask for it but it's okay if it just accidentally happens right you cannot group in the open world you cannot join a group unless you're going to do a hardcore dungeon which those rules we'll get to in a second but you can't group up with people if you're like you know you go to the Shoreline there's a bunch of murlocs and you want to grouped up together nope nope you can't group up together you gotta do it all by yourself and if people help you just because they're kind of there sure but you can't ask for help and you can't purposely group up okay you get the picture dungeons we'll talk about Dungeons and hairs for in a second but the big thing about Dungeons you can only run each dungeon once and it doesn't not not kill each boss once it's just you have one ID tag for a dungeon and you get one that's it if it fails and you die on the first Boss full first of all if you die I guess your character's related if a party member dies and the Healer of the group dies and now your group's just screwed and you have to quit you can't do that dungeon again hardcore baby um for building the abilities and actions there's certain classes that have Resurrection type abilities Shaman's Aug paladins bubble Hearth which is basically a get out of jail free card all that kind of Soul stones for warlocks and there's a there's an item called light of a loon which basically lets you do a Pali bubble Hearth you can't use that either all four of those things are forbidden and a no no you can't use them can't do it right um stormouts uh you can get a mount yourself mounts are allowed but you can't do the whole uh store mounts and uh like the account bound mounts and stuff can't use any of that has to be 100 legit and at max level you earn your immortality if you want to because there is and there does still exist a hardcore raiding community and if molten core is a big old pushover it gets a little bit scarier if you think about doing molten core and you can't die and anyone who does dies to delete their character and you lose a raid member that's insane much less getting 40 people oh my gosh that sounds crazy and PVP and Battlegrounds are a No-No because well I think it might be interesting if you could do PVP but if you died then you you still had to delete your character that might be an interesting role but in general PVP Battlegrounds is a no is banned don't do it right that is the general rules for the the base rules but what I'm going to be doing as well is Duo and Trio rules which that got me the most excited uh me and my friend are going to be doing this I'm going to be streaming this so if you're interested in that check that out I am going to be posting more videos on all of this but Duos and trios well first of all add-on you have to have the add-on in order to do this legit but both of you have to have the add-on I'll show you here in that in a second whenever I get into the game you always have to be logged on together at the same time and the same thing even if you're not questing you can't like log on and work on your trades with other persons offline you literally exist and tell the story together you have to be logged on at the same time done class combinations you have to choose uh that spawn together like if you have night elves versus humans or tauren versus Orcs or something you can create people in different starting zones which that's for sure gonna happen it's a little easier for The Horde to kind of get to together than it is for the alliance in some ways but I'm going to be starting a night elf Druid and my friend's gonna be starting a human Mage we are going to have to get together so I'm gonna have to take my druid and walk on it and make a death run and hopefully not die oh God to get there right you can do it but the only rule is you have to do it before level two at level two everything starts at every at level two all the achievements start level two is when your character is locked in to their hardcore Journey so you have to make sure to do that together um and then clean together swing together you are soul bound and share one life if one of you die both of you die that's crazy that's even more scary right it's not like you can just oh you die and then make another character catch up to me okay let's do it again no no no you are linked that's super cool uh stick together same Zone kind of the same thing as the whole presence thing you have to do the same thing the unless you're a druid going to Mood Lane to do a class Quest okay cool there's an exception so there's an exception from Madrid right there and the cool part and this is the only only real the Boon and the benefit here is you can trade solo self-bound uh solo self-found items uh crafted items and all that kind of stuff to each other and gold so you can trade that trading ban rule is opened up to your Duo partner or Trio partner uh only that's the only person you're able to interact and trade with so my friend's making a mage he's gonna make Mage water he can trade that to me if you make a warlock you could trade Health Stones you can trade that to me still can't use Soul Stones right but you can trade stuff whether it's conjured stuff you find gold whatever it is you can trade between your group that you start off together that's it now the crazy thing about Dungeons oh man I love this the whole thing about Dungeons this chart on the side right here is simply just a chart of the max level that you can do a dungeon at done right this is TBC this is era if you're not familiar era is the true classic bass like 60 like the original original that is called era right uh TBC is is uh you know the burning Crusade and stuff um so max level this is the max level that you can do these dungeons at and you cannot do the dungeon higher than that if you go to rage fire Chasm at 18 and you ding 19 in the dungeon that's still fine no worries there but these are the max levels as you can go to the dungeon so you probably want to kind of be as close to Max as you can because uh you don't want to go low level in a dungeon and then some stuff gets sideways and then you die right or your group or whatever right um so there's that now the rules though is you can only do it once per dungeon we already talked about that level range we just talked about that grouping you can group up and travel to the dungeon together right but try and avoid killing my jobs along the way like do your D do your damnedest to just not get involved if something does Act of course kill it or whatever and just kind of the same Spirit of like the buffing thing don't go around searching for it but if it happens it happens right so that's kind of the same concept there summoning warlocks can summon members to groups only if it's for the purpose of getting them closer to the dungeon and that's it it's not some sort of like oh and then you leave the group ah okay so you know there's a little bit of weird gray area there but do it do it do your thing it's quests uh do Quest marks as dungeon quests are okay so if there's like around the dungeon there's a dungeon Quest you can do that as a group together kind of like a uh not rage fire Chasm the thing in the uh oh my God I forgot the name of it um uh shadowfang whaling Caverns yeah there's a bunch of quests around Weyland Caverns you can do those as the dungeon group as you work your way to Weyland Caverns Etc right done uh and then respawns you are allowed to wait for respawns if you're waiting for a player to finish the quest and all that kind of stuff you're kind of waiting for it to respawn to finish the dungeon Quest sure and then Mages are allowed to Grant portals after the group is done so there you go that is a huge huge list of rules uh that hopefully you see the big picture of and you have the website for uh now if you want to do this and you actually want to go go for this all you have to do is be able to you know have a there is a World of Warcraft subscription you have to have to play World of Warcraft because that is that is the game you're playing this isn't some sort of private server separate thing you are doing this on a real server with an add-on that you download which we'll talk about that here in a second too so in fact I'll even talk about that on now the add-on here is called hardcore that's literally all it is it is Hardcore you make sure you've selected the drop down of classic or if you do it on the website same thing classic hardcore that's literally all it is and you download this and it's easy as that right I'll show you in game here in a second um the website will help get you just all the stuff I'm showing you here and then as far as where to play uh this is the thing I showed you guys about Alliance and horde really really it's Europe is hydroxy and waterlords it is an RP server but that doesn't matter it's been deemed and adopted to be this hardcore server uh and then blood sail Buccaneers is for North America that's where I'm at and these are kind of the different uh different uh guilds you can join to kind of all be together and kind of be alerted with all that kind of stuff and have a little bit of a community to Ah that's so cool it's been so it's so cool uh and then we already talked about Discord make sure you get into Discord and you can kind of talk about it your questions answered there and then I talked about adding doing the download of the add-on and now uh the game so here is uh my good old level one Druid right I am starting this journey along with you guys did a whole bunch of uh prep to make sure I'm ready to go dive back in the classic because I did play back in classic so diving into this world is going to be scary because you can't die in doing it with your friends and stuff oh it's so cool so this is what you're going to see as soon as you log into the game with the add-on being downloaded it gives you a rundown this is the party thing if you're doing a do or Trio this is huge you select Duo you type in your teammate's name you lock it in uh achievements this is the only thing that kind of confused me at the beginning you can select different achievements you want to turn on right to make the game even harder like the rules I just listed off there's even crazier rules like don't select any talents at all what be completely naked the whole time what it's crazy you get achievement points and all this kind of stuff within that within the add-on so it's real crazy there's class-based ones all that stuff uh but uh this is a super easy one partner up which is what we're going to be doing anyway so I think that's an interesting one I'll be starting off with there you can select a bunch of these uh and then questing these are all activated and turned on because you have a chance to get all of these and then you will either get the achievement or not depending on if you do the thing it says at the time it says and then you click begin Adventure at level one you're gonna keep seeing that screen begin Adventure begin Adventure begin Adventure each time until you hit Level Two and everything's locked in right but now here is my now this is not default I do have some add-ons that I set up to kind of get ready for my journey I am going to make a video about hardcore add-ons that's that's kind of my thing is add-ons and making sure everything's good I have a ton of videos on the channel add-ons week course all that stuff and I'm gonna be doing my best I can to set you guys up that are going to be taking this journey along with me uh so you don't die because if you have a lot of really good interface I think your interface can go a long way keeping you alive a little bit longer giving you good information all that kind of stuff keeping things clean and looking nice as well so I'm about to take my druid and have to go on a journey to uh Stormwind so wish me luck and oh I hope I don't
