hello and welcome to World of Warcraft this video is for brand new players or players that have played and might be playing the game wrong or maybe in just a way that they could be easier for you because a lot of times we just have these default settings which are terrible and you start the game off and you just get used to playing and this is what you're used to so you're used to it you don't realize that it could it could be better so a lot of the things I might say here could just be a straight up fix and you're like oh my God that's amazing or it could be something that might challenge you a little bit and be like oh does that is that what I uh it doesn't feel right it doesn't feel right because you're used to the wrong technically and there is just a better way so I would say try it out embrace it and you will get used to it and after you've tried it if you like your original way better just go back to that no problem whatsoever because we're going to start the thing off with moving around and how to move in the game and this is keyboard turning which starting off the bat is something you do not want to do you do not want to be a keyboard Turner and one of your abilities here I'm just an orc Warrior level one brand new with default everything uh is blood frenzy and this is zero to press 0 on your keyboard is ridiculous you should never press zero on your keyboard with your left hand that should never happen though you'd have to click this ability and now you're a keyboard Turner and a clicker which are both sins in World of Warcraft but trust me it's gonna be okay I want to show you the light at the end of the tunnel and see what's going on here so starting off before we start moving around and everything I just want to get our interface set up so if you press Escape go to options the thing we're gonna mess with here a lot of this accessibilities and system Graphics that's going to be an individual basis but this up here for the controls is something I can definitely show you first big huge quality of life thing is going to be Auto loot turn on auto loot the shift key is by default so when you right click the loot a mob now it's just going to automatically Auto loot it everything that it has right away and everything around it super quick if you hold down shift it'll individually just want it and it'll pull up the window and then you can loop from there next it's also nice to combine all of your bags into one bag so when you open up your bags you just have all your bags everywhere you can organize it from there instead of individual bags that's just a personal preference for me honestly though and then everything else is fine except at the very bottom here is camera follow style if I start moving my character if I move my camera behind myself and I let go of the mouse it automatically spins it back around that's not always what you want you want to be in full control of your camera so whenever you go to options all the way to the bottom is never adjust camera so now for whatever reason and there's plenty of reasons whenever I'm running I'm looking around I'm looking up here my camera doesn't move automatically okay now the first thing to do now it's kind of weird like oh my whole camera's off now this is weird just double click with both mouses at this both left click and right click both Mouse together at the same time and you go that way and that is a very simple way to move move your character around and we'll get to a character movement here in a second so back to the options menu interface totally fine you can leave that alone I do have a full video on interface and all the different options of how you can do it but this is the beginning video you can watch that video later once you're not a beginner action bars you'd want to turn on action bar 2 which is this action bar right here this is your first action bar action bar three is the one that's directly above that you can turn that one on as well which again you can choose to turn any of these on or off action bar four is on the far right XMR 5 is on the far right over here and I'm gonna stop there just in case this should be fine enough for all of your action bar needs and then lock action bar I do have this locked on to where I can't pull it off my action bar on accident whenever things are moving around shouldn't be clicking anyway which we'll get to you lock it down and then if you hold down the shift key you can take it off if you have shift held down and then I do like to show the number one cooldown so whenever an ability is used you see the duration of how long it's left there's add-ons for that but again we're doing this add-on list for combat right here the only thing I'd really mess with is the personal resource display this is something that's going to pop up in the center of your screen whenever you do start fighting and stuff it's going to pop up as a health bar and a resource bar for whatever your class resource is whether it be rage Mana energy whatever but before we go into the Wilderness and get into some combat here we gotta fix our movement right now because this keyboard turning thing is not working by default you have W moves forward s moves backwards A and D turn left and right that is just empirically wrong and it also has q and E strafing left and right strafing is great in the game see how fast I move strafing you move the same speed forwards as you do strafing exact same speed back pedaling though is much slower so the very first number one thing you have got to do please is go to options right here you're going to go to key bindings and movement Keys which is right here the movement first of all move and steer this middle Mouse if you click down the middle Mouse I didn't even know this if you click down the middle Mouse you can move around like this no no no this not that's not don't use the middle Mouse for that you're going to right click this and unbind that right away right clicking unbinds things all off the bat so move forward W is fine move backward s is fine turn left no I'm gonna unbind that and I'm going to unbind turn right sure if you want to move your hand over here for whatever reason and touch the arrow keys to do that that's fine you can have your arrow keys move around for whatever reason if you're eating some something and you only have one hand whatever strafe left I'm going to change straight from left to a I'm going to strange strafe right to D and we are good to go there even just that close that out back ah this okay okay we're better now this is how you should move your character whenever I'm looking around let's say I want to go fight something over this way I'm looking around for whatever I want to fight I can strafe while running forward this is exactly how I want to run oh there's a board over there oh how'd I just turn the camera here we go you turn the camera by right clicking and when you see I right click my mouse goes away the mouse the my mouse curse right here it goes away as soon as I turn and now I'm turning the camera around this is movement I see somebody right there I look over here this is moving my camera how you should be moving it and then I combine that with moving and now I'm moving around and I'm just turning my camera to move where I want to go and that's all I need and if everything else is keybind that's another reason why you don't want to be clicking around because if I'm moving around I want to cast blood frenzy this ability right here I literally cannot cast it I have to move my hand a really weird way to be able to hit this let me show you how you're going to fix all of these things but that is how you move your character this stretch left and right this right click turns the camera let's say my left hand's occupied my left hand is occupied I'm pressing other buttons or whatever you can click both mouses together at the same time and now we're moving all this like right here see it so now let's say I want to move around we're going to get we're going to run straight down the middle here we're gonna move around and I'm holding down W and I left click left click only turns the camera right click turns everything right you and the camera right uh left click you can look around right click you can move around and that is how you should get used to moving if I don't move around in here I'm going to right click and I'm moving around here comes the strafe I'm moving and strafing you see how I'm I'm moving and strafing so if I want to run around I want to come in here I strafe I can move around I can click up some bores I can click some bores right here as I'm strafing back and forth seeing who I want to attack or whatever and then this is the one now I can right click and I'm running in here and I can use my abilities on this guy now getting into a little bit of combat here against this boar if I left click the bore it's right there I've targeted it but you see as I left click it and I'm not attacking it it's just that I'm just targeting it if I right click the bore I shift into battle mode and you see my guys ready to go if I walk up to this bore it's going to attack oh see here we go we're in combat now we're attacking we're moving right and I just backpedal there a little bit he's about kicking me back I can strafe I can move around and just there as I showed got forgot our first kill look at that if you right click and hold strafe and slowly turn you should practice this you can turn around an enemy right whatever the enemy is let's do it on this ball right here I'm strafing around this bore right I have my right click held down I'm moving my mouse I'm strafing around so if I want to attack behind it I'm behind behind it I'm behind it I'm behind it oh it's moving on behind it oh it's moving on behind it look at this training we're doing left click I have targeted the bore and now right click I deal with damage with it now I'm going to show you another little shortcut here you don't have to right click everything in fact in general I never really right click mobs now here's a a shift Auto Loot and now I've automatically looted it into my inventory great automatically it was super great now for this bore I am not going to right click it the I only left click things I'm targeting it and I attack the stuff so down here on button number one I have my my only ability my level one character has right now so if you see whenever I press one I'm gonna press one right now Watch What Happens into combat mode whenever you press in any ability it it starts attacking as well so I've pressed one I was obviously at a range it's a melee ability I walk up to it now and I'm not pressing anything it's just Auto attacking because I have pressed an ability any sort of attack in some kind and it's going to do that right and now here we go uh that does not work if I Target this and I use a blood frenzy that's just the damage buff of some kind gives me an attack power boost it's not an attack of any kind any sort of attack that you press is going to send you into that so now whenever I walk up over here again I'm double clicking with the mouse just then to go over here because my left hand was busy my left hand's moving around and you can actually do both just as for the record as well I can left click right here or I can press I can press forward left click forward left click forward and sorry when I say left click I mean double click both mouses together W both mousees together W timeout it's about this time then I want to stop and have a possible intervention that I could save you before you go down the wrong way of wasd I have a full video if you want a full explanation of why esdf is better but every time I'm while I'm making this video it feels terrible because I keep going to wasd just for for you guys but esdf is the best way to use your keyboard esdf is on the home position where your hands are where they sit on the keyboard so if you put your hands in the home position like you're about to type something take your right hand off and move your middle finger up you are in the actual movement position for esdf so I personally if I were to do this I'm not going to do this for the sake of this video but I would go to options I would go to move and steer move forward would be e move backwards would be D move or sorry strafe left would be S and strafe right would be F right esdf so now that is this actually that's exactly what's supposed to feel like there so this is what feels a lot better I have a whole video for if you want to check out the description for why esdf is better I will for the rest of this video use wasd just to keep it simple for the beginners out there but you 100 should switch to esdf especially if you're new and you're not used to this yet it's just better but I'll switch it back to wsd now all right let's get back to setting things up here before we do any any more uh Next Level stuff so one thing I do want to show is edit mode this is something that they just added to the game uh right before dragonfly and it shows all of the different things of where everything is on the screen it's very nice and clean this is your request objective tracker right here these are the two bars we just talked about all the bars we've brought on our screen you can move These Bars anywhere that you want we are going to keep that very simple I have a ton of video I have a whole video on how to set up the interface the way you want it that will be in the description down as well if this is something that's interesting I'm going to keep it real simple in this video the only thing I really would say to move is this thing right here that my your your frame and this chart Target frame they're just a little bit strange I feel like I'm going across that sometimes whenever it's so far away I like to put them right about here and that's about as much as I would say to maybe change for you everything else is pretty okay and fine there's other add-ons out there that change even more stuff I have plenty of videos on different add-ons but I'm gonna keep it real simple for that so that's all I want to do for the edit mode macros is something I do have a whole videos for that as well add-ons is the same thing for that we're going to ignore those for now go back to options and key bindings to fix you up okay here's another huge quality of life boost here in the movement section right now so uh sit and move down x and z it is too important to have actual buttons do actual things in combat for Z and X to be sitting down and unsheathing your weapon both of which are entirely like RP and have no role play have no purpose in in being in this high priority of a button right here sit and move down I personally changed sit and move down to my numpad so I have a numpad on my keyboard this is going to be numpad 2 which is the down section of that and then unsheath weapon is numpad 8 which is the up Arrow on the numpad so I can sit down or stand up it's super simple I mean I could just unbind it entirely and never use it but that's what I do uh toggle auto run I completely unbind toggle auto run I I don't toggle the auto run for myself I think start auto run is a better version for this in general I have a mouse button on my in the top very top of my mouse there's a little uh some section of buttons right here on the very top of my mouse I have that be my auto run it is just my right there so Auto which now that's going to look very misleading uh I have a mouse that I've changed all the buttons on here so all the buttons on this mouse are different actual buttons on the keyboard that I can't reach my hand over to so like n m k l o p all that kind of stuff so this is a mouse button that I just showed you the mouse button right so now whenever I start my auto run here I just click this and it's a mouse button click and I just start moving I don't like toggle either because if I want to stop I just press forward or press backwards and it stops me from going so you can or just double click and that also stops it so there's plenty of ways to stop the auto run I I just like it being a start auto run and we're good to go pitch up and down I've messed around with that having it be shift modifiers before but I unbind these uh toggle auto run walk that's another RP thing you can bind this if you want I bind this to five or numpad 5 and then follow Target I have is a the the same button on my mouse the same button I just showed you on my mouse shift that button also follows my target so now if I click that Mouse button I'm here and if I wanted to follow something I could shift click them okay movement Keys done all right movement keys are done one thing I got to do is I gotta mess with the camera right now so we're gonna go to the camera and we're just a little close right now so uh you see this next view in view preview all this kind of stuff again I I get rid of these zoom in and zoom out with the camera please please please the mouse wheel scroll this is the zoom camera in and out so many people still have this as like max level characters that play in Dungeons and raid and also have this be scrolling and out and my God why there's no reason there's no reason choose the camera distance you like and set it to that I have not had to have moved my camera in a combat in some way really ever right so if I do need to I can move my camera down and you see how I'm positioning my camera with the with the with the right uh holding down right click I'm positioning against this bone so the camera shhh shoots against that right now see how it shoots down so if I want to get close or whatever I can I can move the camera to get close if I need to like putting up against something but if you're in a dungeon array why do you want to get that oh let me let me why why why why why why why why is that the case you don't need to do that the max the camera distance that you have you want to set wherever you want I'm going to scroll all the way out here and this uh maybe let's just say uh this medium side okay cool there we go this is better I can see more there's more to take in so I'm going to show you how to do this here zoom in and zoom out should not be this at all no no no I'm going to unbind those we'll talk about that y here in a second okay so zoom in zoom out I'm gonna have that be page up and page down or you can have it be a home and end or whatever on your keyboard somewhere in the center of your keyboard buttons like that you can put on your numpad if you want whatever zoom in and zoom out so now if I really want to I can move my hand here I can move in move out and okay that looks good right there looks good but now this is the cool part just to make sure that you can adjust your camera however you want so set View and save View and then reset view I never really messed with reset View and I never really missed a flip camera either that's it gets a little crazy I want to be in full control of my camera like this so and then Center camera again just press both the buttons at the same time so uh here's what I want to do set View and save view here's how we're going to do this save view is going to be F5 on my on my you never use the function button so save view one is going to be shift F5 save view 2 is shift F6 save view 3 is shift F7 again this is the saving of the view and then to go to the view to set the view I'm going to have set view one F5 set view to F6 set U2 F7 so setting the view is just pressing the button and if I want to change it and save it I shift the command here's what it looks like now so let me Zoom all the way back into that original spot here so this is where we started off I'm going to have this be shift F5 that is now saved this View and now I'm going to scroll back page up page up page up and let's get back to that Medium view like right like right here that's cool I'm gonna do shift F6 I've saved that view I'm going to go all the way back all the way back and now it's going to be shift F7 right now I have saved those three different views that I want and you can also add another one if you want to do first person or whatever and now if I press those buttons I press F5 it zooms me right to that spot I press F6 I press F7 there we go so if for whatever reason you're running a dungeon and it's really a tight or really close quarters like Grim rail Depot or something uh you wanna you wanna zoom in there sure you can have the camera and you can even page up to be like all right I'm going to be I'm going to be here today I'm gonna be here for a little bit right and you're good I have never in over 10 years needed to I need to scroll my camera back right now and usually even if I did want to do that I would just move my camera and like move it in here so if I want to get real close in here or if I'm going to fight let's go in this building so I'm in the building now really close tight space I move my camera up there we go we're in the building why do I need to move my why do I need to have my like scroll my mouse wheel in and out no no no you're fine you're fine you're fine next thing we're going to go to now is the chat this is a simple one but this might be just a real big quality of life for you here's the defaults for chat R the R button something that is a very high I would say tier one top level being able to buying this to an actual a button that does actually something an ability a spell something R is chat reply no no no no no no no no please no so chat reply it should be the back Command right above enter if I wanted to talk to somebody in general I would press enter and just start typing right and I'd press enter to send it if I want to reply to someone's whisper what is the button directly above enter that little backslash that slash it's not it's backside technically the forward slash I guess the forward slash button right above enter that is the button that I have to reply to Whispers And if I want to re-reply I do shift that button and my God is it not only just the better keybind Button as far as the efficiency of your keyboard but it also frees up the letter R for what we're about to talk about now here so in fact let's go ahead and get right into that chat's now done we're good with chat we're gonna leave the rest of these alone again this is just for beginners you can go also into the interface panel this entire section or all the different interface options you can pull up your map your character screen your bags and uh group finder whatever it is right so in general for me open all bags I have open all bags be F1 and then I have my character pane be F2 I like to be able to open up my character paint and bags uh with those two buttons that are right next to each other it feels really good to me and yeah but none of those are mandatory in any kind of way and if you start using keybinds and binding all these different buttons a lot of these might get overlapped and start to mess up so you can bind them put them wherever you want you can have them I used to do alt commands where I hold down alt and press a button and I can I can see it but this is not that big of a deal it's just the interface panels you're good so in now for combat we have action bar which is the main action bar you have here special action bar all these other things are def are all the different things like pets or if you shape shift or different stances and other things like that so those again this is mainly the bar right here and then after that you go to the extra action bar free action bar two action bar three four and five over here so an easy way to do all of this is the quick keybind mode that is a super simple way to do this I almost never even go into those anymore more this is pretty much the best way right here so this is the extra action button this is a Battle Stance type of Druid shapeshift forms all that stuff like I said so I'm gonna ignore that for right now so all of these are what the keybinds are currently there's one two three four five all the way through right and then these abilities over here so over here I would have things be non-combat things things that you're not needing to maybe it's like a potions maybe it's uh your Mount other things that you're just going to be doing in and out of things or Regents or something things you want to have on your screen for whatever reason you want a Hearthstone possibly anything that you want to put over here that's not combat required whatsoever here is your combat section in fact if you see any of my other videos you're gonna see a lot of stuff higher up here that you can actually see so in general what I would highly recommend to do is whenever you're doing this again uh if yeah you can hold down shift you can move these around I usually like to have my rotation be right here whatever I'm mainly pressing in a main if I'm damaging if I'm healing if I'm tanking whatever I'm doing my main thing is right here and kind of right here secondary things are right here and then like cool downs and stuff are at the top so I'm gonna put my my blood Fury cool down hold down shift I'm gonna put it right there and I'm gonna put slam right there cool awesome done whenever I'm binding the keys I can bind these to whatever you want so your rotation is going to go here and you can put all the different buttons here I like to have the keyboard match what this looks like so here's what I do so for what I would recommend again I'm using wasd for the sake of this video this right here this button right here is going to be q that might sound weird but right above my wasd that ring finger q q is a great button Q is such a great button and then I'm going to put e r f and if you look at the keyboard I'm going around the keyboard so I have q e r f and then underneath that I'm going to put uh there we go I'm going to put C and then I'm going to keep going around in a circle x z in fact I'm going to include V on this one so after F I'm going to include V then C then X then Z and then I'm going to go even all the way over here to caps lock and yes I do have the caps lock button bound uh that's a whole other situation uh but I'm just trying to show in general you can move and put all your buttons on here so now I'm going to put my one two three four five I probably will not be pressing six that's too much of a stretch if you're using wsd so nope on there and then so far that's what my keyboard is and this is very synced up to what my keyboard looks like right here I'm going to do middle Mouse button click and then here I'm going to do mouse scroll up that's actually fascinating that I can't bind Mouse scroll up right here so we're going to click Ok We're gonna go to the action bar settings and I'm going to go down here to add button 11 and 12 which you can see I did all of this action button 11 I'm going to have Mouse wheel scroll up action button 12 I have Mouse will scroll down you'll see why here in a second and then I'm going to try that out and look at this here we go all right so now as I'm moving around I'm going to put my blood Fury I'm I'm gonna actually put that over here on Mouse wheel scroll up so now this is the type of thing I want to kind of shake you guys up with as far as what buttons you put on things now if I want to cast my blood frenzy which is a cool down to make me deal more damage all I got to do is flick up on my mouse wheel and oh my God I just cast it I'm gonna go back in here and fight some of these bores I want to Target this bore I want my slam ability I want to put my slam ability on E I'm gonna have it be right there so I have my wasd for movement and E is right there bang bang so whenever I go in here I'm going to press e and now I press e I'm attacking as soon as the Billy comes up I'm pressing e and I'm moving I can move and press e very easy I'm going to go to this one I'm attacking this one I'm moving and pressing e moving and pressing e and all my hands are all in the same spot all in the same I'm going to go over this guy and here we go I haven't mentioned this yet tab tab targeting is nice sometimes in general I tend to I do tend to click Target I think I think it's more accurate that way because if there's if there's two things here and I tab Target it could accidentally go to one that I'm not and tab targeting is a little bit random to me but if I was going over towards this guy and I knew for a fact that he's the closest one I could press Tab and it would Target him you can do a tab I don't I don't tab Target all the time uh but here's how I would look if I was attacking this board I'm going over this board here we go I'm going to this board attacking this board here we go I'm attacking the boar attacking the boar and it's dead I'm going to this one left clicking it and pressing e I'm pressing e I'm going on I'm going I'm attacking I'm moving around see so what I would recommend to do is whenever you're in your quick bind option for your keybinds keybinds you go all the way to top quick buying key mode when you're in this put your keybinds in a spot that makes sense to your brain right if you want to have middle Mouse click B here scroll up scroll down shift middle Mouse click shift scroll up shift scroll down all of those are great buttons I'm gonna have a keybind video it goes over all the big things about how you can do all your key bindings I wanted to at least talk about it a little bit in here just shake up and open up the idea that you can have things on q e r f all those abilities that are right around your hand instead of always putting on one two three four five because if you're actually moving around the best buttons you could possibly have are q e r f one two three four five and I can't forget about the mouse buttons you can get quick keybind mode I'm gonna put my mouse buttons here I'm gonna put let's let's just for the sake of this let's say you have two mouse buttons I'm gonna put Mouse button one Mouse button two shift Mouse button one shift Mouse button two and then now I have all of this ready to go so that I can whenever I'm whenever I'm moving around I can also press you can see I'm pressing my mouse button and it's right there so if I want to have something on my mouse button I could in general a big tip I have for beginners with what to put on your mouse button you should have at least two mouse buttons I have uh 12. all right I would I I would recommend having the 12 but at least having two just two buttons on the side of your mouse where your thumb is is a game changer I usually have those be movement type of things as far as a Sprint a jump a dash a blink or I have them be interrupt so if something's happening something you want to do quickly like oh I gotta interrupt and you can interrupt and you can quickly just bang with your thumb because what's your thumb doing on the mouse not much right so anything with your thumb you shouldn't put things on there that you're having to spam too much and you're having to constantly click in your thumb all the time that feels weird to me if you want to do a situational cooldowns or damage cooldowns something that's going to happen you know quickly whenever you want to have it tanking cooldowns might be a defensive ice block something you're about to die huh you know you could whatever it is that you want to choose for that movement Keys is a very nice thing because a big reason why for movement Keys is if I'm moving around with my left hand my left hand is actively moving around and I want to Blink or something I would have to move my hand off of the movement keys to be able to do that so A lot of times a dash or a jump on on the mouse is pretty good or you could have uh you could watch my esdf video for that which is the main reason why I use esdf but anyway that is World of Warcraft in a nutshell I hope let me zoom in here whoa I hope that has helped uh you in some way at some part of this video has shown oh you know what I never thought of it like that and I'm not trying to get you to play my way or say that your way is wrong or whatever I just want you to play in the way that's the most efficient and most fun for you and test it out don't be too stuck in a box and say like well I've done this for 5 five years so I'm not or you're brand new whatever it is Shake It Up get used to it and hopefully it makes you have more fun so until next time stay creative think outside the box I'm gonna go level with my new friend I made here let's go
