channel [Music] how to overclock and undervolt the RX 7600 tutorial and this is one of those tutorial videos that I wanted to make for quite some time and you guys it is quite awaited because you guys asked me several times to make this tutorial and I kind of well I kind of didn't do it that's why I'm making it now but I I don't really know why I didn't do it I guess how I was just making other videos first I was just making more uh comparisons new gpus and so on so a lot of work uh but I'm doing it now so rejoice and well before going to the actual overclocking video let's just go to the common questions common questions first common question is will this void the warranty of my Jeep you know it won't void a warranty because although Brands can say they can say whatever they want of course like I can but although Brands can say that the overclocking your GPU or pushing it um above the factory options or the factory uh descriptions let's say that will indeed void the warranty they can't prove that you overclocked they can't even if you break your GPU somehow due to overclocking settings as well not directly due to the overclocking settings because that does not happen with today's gpus because we have power limits temperature limits voltage limits and so on so even if that happens and you send the GPU back to warranty they can't prove that you overclock they will just fix your GPU or send you a new one that's how it works it won't void your warranty the second question is will this break or degrade my GPU no like answered before no that does not happen because today's gpus have power limits voltage limits and temperature limits so if something is really really bad they will simply turn off the computer for example so you'll be completely fine it won't break your GPU even more because we are actually decreasing the the voltage so it won't break it and it won't degrade it since we are instead of increasing the voltage we are actually decreasing the voltage it means that we are actually increasing the gpu's lifespan instead of decreasing it so that's a win-win situation we have better performance and we have a higher or a bigger GPU lifespan win-win the third question is I have a GPU from this exact brand can I use this tutorial on my GPU yes you can as long as you have an RX 7600 it doesn't matter the brand of you of the GPU you have doesn't really matter if you have a GPU from ASRock from Sapphire XFX barcode or MSI it doesn't really matter as long as it is an RX 7600 you're completely fine and this tutorial applies and the fourth question is will my PSU be able to handle this do I need to get a new PSU well it depends if you have a really really poor PSU let's say if you have a time bomb instead of a PSU maybe maybe you should consider uh upgrading your PSU because that's one of the golden rules of PC Building you never chip out on a PSU if you have a bad PSU sending bad power signals or bad power to the other components it may actually fry the other components or it may make them work well funny may make them work not as they are intended to it may cause black screens it may cause stutters the PSU can do that actually so never chip out on a PSU but if you have a PSU from a decent brand let's say something at least 600 watts 550 Watts 650 Watts bronze from a decent decent brand let's say Corsair Cooler Master something like that um well-known Brands let's say it will be completely fine even more because this card won't won't take much more power with overclocking we're talking about let's say 30 to 50 Watts so you're completely fine once again as long as your PSU is not a piece of garbage you're completely fine with this tutorial it won't have any issues and finally to the actual overclocking part as usual I am gonna use the AMD adrenaline settings you can indeed use software different softwares like for example Ms afterburner but um Ms After Burner is way way harder to work in terms of undervolting and so on so reducing voltages uh and so on Ms After Burner is not as user friendly as the adrenaline settings so that's why I use the adrenaline settings and on the other hand you do not need any third-party software because you have the adrenaline settings so the first thing you have to do is go to the performance tab then you have the metrics tunings and settings sub tabs and you go to the tunning the tuning one and you have the system CPU things that doesn't really matter don't really matter sorry and then we have the tuning control on the GPU part we have default under volt GPU overclock GPU overclock vram and then we have the tuning presets of quiet and balanced the automatic tuning which is basically automatic overclocking is not that bad and usually can be better than the stock settings usually but it is never at least in the state that it is right now it is Never As Good As manual tuning because for example in manual tuning we can do all these overclocks together so we can overclock the GPU overclock the vram and at the same time under Volta GPU as well so while on the automatic tuning you have to select one of these and not all at the same time and that's one of the reasons why we go to manual tuning as we can go further in terms of each aspect okay it's for the tuning presets well I don't use them but you can use the quiet if you don't want the GPU to to make so much noise but it will definitely be slower and you have the balance as well which is an in-between preset anyway let's go to the custom tuning custom manual tuning I mean then uh kind of enable all the sliders that you see here fan tuning enable vram tuning enable power tuning enable Advanced control as well Advanced control slider and advanced control not this one and yeah then click apply and the first and the one of the most important if not the most important settings in terms of overclocking and undervolting is the power tuning slider what you want to do exactly is pick the slider and push it to the max you can so in this case it is 12 percent in some other brands in some other models it can be let's say 25 to 80 percent some models will be 20 25 it depends the higher the T the higher the tier the model is for example let's say uh Red Devil um a sapphire Nitro plus the higher the tier the higher the power draw in the slider in the parliament the higher the par limits I mean so it depends so your GPU might even be at zero because if your model is really low tier um the power slider option might not be available okay it's a bummer because you will not be able to get so much performance or at least as much performance as you will be able to with a higher power limit but once again you bought a cheaper and lower tier model so the power limit might not be available but if it is put it to the max because this doesn't mean that the GPU will automatically consume more power it means that the GPU will consume more power if it needs more power to perform better okay if it needs more power to perform better to deliver higher FPS numbers then it will consume more power and uh the power limits is there exactly because of that and it is a good thing it is a good thing because the GPU does perform better at higher power draw then we have the GPU tuning which is one of the most interesting things now we have the minimum frequency maximum frequency and the voltage as for the minimum frequency on some gpus and in the past I actually advise the minimum frequency just 100 megahertz below the maximum frequency for example on the rdna2 gpus and I still do that on the rdna to gpus but rdna3 ones so the rx7000 series are quite different because they work uh with a power draw limit instead of a thermal or instead of a frequency limit so they work differently and the minimum frequency imagine that the reason why you shouldn't select for example 2800 as the minimum frequency is because in some scenarios these gpus can work for example at a maximum frequency of 28 700 megahertz in some other scenarios they can work let's say at 2800 in some others 29 2900 because once again it depends on the power draw if you are playing for example at 1440p since the power draw is higher the the GPU frequency will have to decrease in order to accommodate in between that power draw okay if the power draw has a limit of 200 Watts let's say like in this case um if the GPU needs more power at higher resolution at the same 200 Watts the frequency has to decrease to stay inside those same 200 watts and if you select for example a minimum of 2800 and the GPU needs to decrease to let's say 2700 to work properly what will happen is that the GPU will crash okay so if you do want to keep a minimum frequency I advise keeping a minimum frequency of 2500 as that is the safe spot for the minimum frequency and this minimum frequency setting set set for example at 2500 does help in CPU bottleneck scenarios because in CPU bottlenecked scenarios the this gpus tend to actually go to a lower power State and that same lower power state has lower frequencies and those same lower frequencies will make the the already CPU bottleneck scenario perform even better on even worse sorry on the GPU side because the frequency is going down so in order to keep that frequency up on the CPU bottleneck scenarios games like Valor and csgo and so on it is advisable to keep the minimum frequency if your CPU is more than enough and you have no issues there then leave the minimum frequency at its minimum as well 255 megahertz and it will be completely fine as for the maximum frequency I do advise to let it at 2900 you can go as high as 3 000 but 2900 is actually the sweet spot as soon as you go to 3000 you can do it actually but the performance gains will be basically null and the voltage needed to reach those same 3000 in most scenarios is way way higher than we actually than we actually need then like I told you the performance difference is basically no so it isn't worth it at all as for the voltage now leaving at 255 leaving at Max frequency uh at the same so you may think that we are not overclocking because I'm leaving the maximum frequency at the same at the same 2900 but we are overclocking because like I told you these cards work with a power limit so if you reduce the voltage the card is consumed the GPU core is consuming less so the card has more power room to increase the the frequency to reach those same 200 Watts hope I'm explaining explaining things well for you to understand I really hope English is not my main language as you can see [Music] also the voltage sliders on the rdna3 cards uh function differently slightly different from the the previous the previous generations and they work just kind of as an offset to the base voltage and that same base voltage is uh relative to the frequency you're achieving this voltage slider works as an offset if you're running for example 2800 megahertz or 2900 megahertz and let's say you have 660 millivolts if you decrease the voltage slider the the frequency the voltage on that same frequency will decrease let's say it would decrease to let's say 630 millivolts then if you decrease more 610 millivolts and so on so and so on okay so the voltage slider works as an offset and each frequency has its base voltage that won't change okay unless of course you reduce it reduce the voltage slider a lot but they have the base voltage and the voltage slider once again works as an offset I managed to uh at 2900 megahertz maximum I managed to reach 1170 and this is a really real really really mild overclock and that's for a reason in some games these cards once again these cards have a base voltage per frequency and since the frequencies are quite different quite different depending on the game so some games can run at 2900 some games can run at 2800 some games only run at 27 or 2600 it is so different that the the voltage slider needs way more to accommodate all the games so in some games I'm able to run at let's say um 11 20 and the game simply won't crash but in other games I need 1170 in order for the game to Not Crash so if you want the maximum stability you can get you can get I advise you to start at 1170 and then if all your games don't crash if all your games are fine then try reducing to 1160. if you have zero crashes on all the games that you play once again try reducing to 11.50 then 1140 and so on till you reach the point where your GPU crashes um and then if your GPU crash in some game if imagine for example a new game if the GPU crashes just go there and increase it 10 millivolts once again to ensure stability if it crashes once again in that game increase 10 millivolts once again till you reach your maximum stability like I told you in some games I can do 11 20 or even less but for all games to work without a single problem I need 11 70 which is nothing of a big underwater volts but at least it is there and it is doing something and finalizing with the vram tuning well we have the the vram tuning the normal one the frequency and the memory timing as for the frequency it seems that this card was actually well it's kind of an handicap card because this card could easily do way more with gddr6 way more it's kind of well it maxes out at 2400 megahertz and it can do 2400 megahertz and I believe that there's not a single 7600 that can't do 2400 megahertz for example the 7900 series with gddr6 the same gddr6 not as Bend of course but they can do 28700 no issues sometimes even more in this case this is locked kind of handicapped like I said before to 280 400 megahertz but it would perform better possibly if it wasn't locked to 2400 megahertz still just raise the voltage the voltage to the Max and let it be there's there's not not really um let's say a recipe here it just it's just basically slather to the max apply and it is done it's for the memory timings you can try the fast timings I personally see no difference in performance when using default or fast timings and the fast timings might actually cause system instability so if you want to try it you can try it and see if you get some more performance but from my perspective and for for my usage of this card default settings are the way to go for stability and no performance difference at all yeah as for the fan tuning with this card I actually usually use 0 RPM but in almost any card in almost all the cards I have sorry I don't use zero RPM as I think it is useless in this case the card is at higher temperatures uh because I'm actually well my my room is quite hot and I'm actually recording at the same time that's why you see the vram tuning slightly higher as well because I'm recording uh for this video of course I'm recording the desktop and that's one of the reasons but still I usually don't use the zero RPM in all my cards but in this one since it is uh well it is quite quiet and it isn't that much hot so I don't use the zero I do use the zero RPM on this card but usually my advice is to leave it at disabled because as you can see a fan speed of below 1000 RPM you won't be able to hear it you won't it's just basically inaudible so well the temperatures will be much lower and at the same time you want be able to hear the the GPU so once again win-win situation uh as always I'll leave my I'll leave my overclocking profiles on the the link in the description you can go there you can download them you'll have to to do some some things in terms of ads and so on but well I'm helping you so if you help me it's it's better it's better this way so if you can help me thank you although you don't need those profiles because you can just create your own profile with the settings that you have you just go here after doing this and applying just go here and go export profile and you select the name of your profile and press save and the location of course and press save and you have
