sharing and start enjoying highlevel gaming on any PC hello guys ancient game play I'm Fab Pisco and welcome to my channel and as for this video we have the long awaited how to overclock and undervolt the RX 7700 XT video and by the way if you ended up in this video but the card you want to overclock and under vault is not the 7700 XD I have several other videos uh in my video section that you can actually search for I have a video for the 6700 XT 6800 6950 XT um 1700 XTX that also serves for the for the version I have several other videos of how to overclock and undervolt even on the NV cards like the RTX 360 370 4070 4070 TI and so on so on so on and before going to the actual overclocking part let's go to the common questions the first one is can I do this on my MSI 7700 XD Asus 7700 XT AMD radiant 7700 XD Sapphire 7700 XD yes it doesn't matter the brand of your GPU okay as long as it is an RX 7700 XD you're completely fine this tutorial applies the second question is will this damage or degrade my GPU no first of all unless you have a time bomb instead of a power supply um the gpus now they have Protections in their own biases even if you push the maximum limits available for that card in the software it won't burn and it won't degrade because it is kind of locked in the v bios the basically the bios of your GPU of your graphics card to not go over X or over y so it will never burn and I repeat it will never burn unless you have a really really bad power supply that may actually burn your GPU so the GPU won't ever burn because of overclocking it might just well burn because you have a bad power supply and the power supply can't actually take that load and will burn the GPU or may burn the GPU or the motherboard or something like that so never chip out on the power supply and that's the one of the biggest advices that I can actually give you and the third and final question is will this void my warranty well no not really although Brands may say that it will void your warranty in any way they cannot simply prove you overclock they can't they can't prove it so you can overclock all you want you just go and send the card back to warranty and they have to accept it because once again they cannot prove that you overclocked that's it now on the ACT ual overclocking part we're going to use the AMD adrenaline software so amd's own software to overclock and undervolt your GPU and all you have to do is right click on your desktop and you'll have AMD software adrenaline Edition so the first thing you actually have to do is open it also you can use several other things like Ms After Burner uh and there are more softwares to overclock and undervolt I don't know them all but I know they that they exist but in my opinion you have already the M the adrenaline software so unless you're not using the adrenaline software and you're using let's say minimal install in that way you might want to go with Ms After Burner but if that's not the case just use the AMD adrenaline software because if you have it why not use it all you have to do is go to the performance tab then go to the tuning subtab bam enter and now we have the options so the first thing that you have to do is go to manual tuning here on the right the right corner um just select custom then enable all the sliders that you see here G for GPU tuning vram tuning power tuning enable everything so enable Advance control enable vram tuning enable Advan control enable fan tuning enabled and power tuning enabled now the first step that I take when overclocking a GPU any GPU is to go to the power tuning first so the power tuning is the most important setting in my opinion go to the part limit and raise it to the maximum you can have let's say 5% 10% 15% 20% or even 50% the amount of percentage limit depends on your model lower end models might might actually have only 10% power limit 5% power limit and the lower tiered ones might even have just zero power limits so you can't even raise it but if you can just put it to the max because this is the most important setting it means that if the card needs more power to perform better it will use more power to perform better doesn't mean that the card will automatically just consume more power out of the box it just means that the card will consume more power if it needs more power to perform considerably better that's what the power tuning does and by the way you're seeing 61 wats of power usage here because I'm recording I'm recording with the GPU so it's using 63 wats of power 61 63 wats as you can see the vram tuning is also maxed out and that's the reason why we have so much power draw because usually it would be around a full idle it will be it would be around like 8 10 watts of power draw in this case it's 61 because we're recording as for the fan tuning uh I usually leave the zero RPM option enabled at least in cards with such beier coolers like the Nitro plus in lower tier cards I do prefer to have the fans running all the time because the card gets gets much cooler and you don't have to to to be enabling and disabling the fans all the time but as for the maximum fan speed I do believe that in cards such as these ones 100% is completely completely use useless you don't need it at all for this carard the Nitro plus 55% is more than enough and in some scenarios you can even go as low as 40 because the temperatures will still will still be pretty fine because this card has a massive a massive cooler so you will be completely fine but my main setting is 55 % okay that's what I use in this case you can go or just take off the zero RPM option the fans will start spinning and the temperatures will get down immediately after some time so they are already getting down as you can see thank God now for the real overclocking and undervolting of the GPU core here we have the GPU tuning with the minimum frequency maximum frequency and voltage and as for the rdna 3 gpus the RX 7,000 series they're quite peculiar in this scenario because the the maximum frequency and the the minimum frequency that you see here depend on the game they actually depend on the game uh you're playing and the resolution you're playing usually higher resolutions lead to a higher power draw and higher power draw leads to lower clock frequency hence why you need to increase the power limit in order to have the maximum performance you can have in all scenarios and as for the maximum frequency even the Nitro plus which is the top tier card uh of the DMD 7700 XT ones even the Nitro plus goes with a Max frequency of only 2500 and believe me this card can make so much more than 2500 I can run this card easily at close to 2900 and still the maximum frequency stock is 2500 meaning that um we we actually have let's say a 10 to 15% uh increase of of performance by overclocking this card usually depends on the scenario but usually we have that amount so what I found to be The Sweet Spot in terms of Maximum frequency is just go nuts and go 3,000 it doesn't mean that U that the GPU will be at 3,000 most times it just means that the GPU will go up to 3,000 in scenarios where for example the power draw um the power draw is lower so it actually compensates with higher GPU frequency so the GPU kind of compens Sates the game not being able to fully utilize the GPU by increasing the clock speeds to generate more frames per second in terms of minimum frequency this card is also peculiar because if I keep the minimum frequency at 500 in some scenarios in some games where the frequency C could go up easily and can go up easily let's say up to 2800 2900 mahz even in those scenarios if the minimum frequency is set to 500 MHz it won't go over over 2600 MHz or or 2700 MHz I do believe this is due to bios or maybe some drivers some drivers that are locking that are basically locking through software the minimum frequency I don't know if it is in order to not uh cannibalize other GPU sales I don't really know but this card can easily go up to 2,800 or 2900 um in some in some games even more if you have top tier top tier cooling solutions like the one I have the Nitro plus so what I found that you can do in these situations for example in games like Ratchet and Clank even if I go with a minimum frequency like this it would go up to let's say 2600 2650 me mahz but as soon as I go to 2700 MHz of minimum frequency then it raises the frequency usually to 2750 MHz 2800 MHz or 2850 megz so as soon as I select the minimum frequency of 2700 MHz the frequencies just shoot up compared to the to the previous to the previous results that we have usually delivering around five to 10% more performance depending on the scenario so in some scenarios it goes from 2600 MHz to 2,800 MHz a 200 MHz score difference uh and it does make the difference in some scenarios it does make the difference I don't know why AMD did this why the 500 MHz option um only delivers lower uh lower frequencies even though the maximum frequency is there is the same I don't really know why that happens but it happens if you want the maximum performance I would advise you to keep the minimum frequency at 2700 and the maximum frequency at 3,000 and by the way don't worry because the minimum frequency is the minimum frequency for 3D applications as we can see we have the minimum frequency of 2700 and the clock speed is not at 2700 it is at 91 1 MHz uh 100 MHz so this is just for 3D applications don't sweat it now the voltage Works uh like uh an offset slider so each frequency has its base voltage imagine if you select for example 2700 here you'll have a base voltage if you select 2800 you'll have a higher base voltage if you select 2500 or let's say if the GPU is running at a minimum of 3500 you'll have a lower base voltage the lower the minimum frequency or the lower the frequency the GPU is running the lower the base voltage will be and like I told you before the voltage slider works as an offset and it doesn't mean that you'll have this voltage that you're seeing here it will just affect the base voltage that each base frequency has once again 2500 will have a frequency a base frequency that will be affected by the voltage slide of course 2600 will have a higher base frequency that will also be affected by the voltage slider and 2700 2800 will also have higher voltage uh base voltage for that frequency because the frequency is higher so the base voltage is higher and once again the more you decrease the voltage on the voltage slider the more the base voltage will decrease as well once again this is an offset not a precise adjustment of the voltages as for my experience with this card well in terms of the settings that I'm using what I found to be the best settings for this card is 1050 molts 1050 molts was uh was perfectly stable in all the tests that I've done remember that I tested 40 games with this card some time ago and every single game was perfectly stable with 10 50 m volts I tested uh in other scenarios 1080p 1440p 4K 1440p Ultra wide and 10 15 M volts is perfectly stable for my Nitro 7700 XT remember all cards are different you can buy 10 Nitro plus 7700 XT cards and all of them will be slightly different you can buy 100 cards and all of them will be slightly different as well it depends on a GPU binning so it's the luck of the draw what I advise you here is to start with let's say 1100 molts because I believe that most gpus will be able to do 1100 molts in this scenario minimum of 2700 maximum of 3,000 I do believe that most of them will easily do 1100 MHz after this you Tes in some heavy games like let's say control one very good game to test the stability of your GPU is Assassin's Creed Mirage if you have Assassin's Creed Mirage or Assassin's Creed Valhalla test in that scenario because those games are very very good to actually uh test the GPU overclocking state stability on the rdna 3gbs they are I don't really know why because maybe some instructions the way they work but they are very good at sensing overclocking instabilities on the rdna 3 gpus so once again start with 1100 molts if 1100 molts are good and perfectly stable for you so it doesn't crash after some hours of gaming then try let's say 1090 molts if 1090 molts is once again stable go to 1080 and do that with um with let's say 10 molts difference in each scenario 10 70 molts if 1070 molts is stable let's go to 1060 and so on so on so on till you reach the minimum value where your system is stable in my case I went down to 1,000 molts and in most scenarios it was completely stable in most scenarios of course but as soon as I went for example to Assassin's Creed Mirage I actually needed 10 molts and after I tested all the games with 105 molts all the games were perfectly stable no absolute crashes um no no quitting to desktop no crashes no blue screens no black screens everything was perfectly stable so in my case I needed 10 15 M volts in your case once again you have to tweak it because you might need more or you might be able to go even lower and the last part is basically about the vram tuning and in my scenario I don't really know what the hell is going on with this GPU this is the first time ever that this happens to me I don't really know why but this card is not able to overclock one single megahertz each time I try to overclock even one mehz or 2 mehz I immediately I immediately get a black screen but if I go to the display settings and increase the display the display settings to let's say 60 HZ I can overclock to 2500 MHz and I can play with 2500 MHz with no issues at all it is what it is so in your scenario I just advise you to go here and select for example 25 12 or 2514 I believe it's 2514 2514 MHz and press apply I won't press apply because I would have a black screen uh I would have to restart the computer and I would have to restart the the recording as well but um what I advise you is to do that 25 14 MHz and 254 because the 14 is the offset that the vram take so if you select 252 or 2514 you'll have the exact 2500 MHz when when playing so that's why I put the offset here as for me since I can't overclock even a single mehz what I have to do is go to the memory timings select fast timings and then press apply if I can't go up in frequency I go up in timings the fast timings already allow for let's say a two to 3% yeah 2 to 3% performance boost it's not that much and you'll definitely get a higher performance uplift from going from 2250 to 2500 MHz VM sadly I can't do it here but from the test that I made with 60 HZ um we went we had let's say up to 5% performance increase just from the vram depending on the scenario so it's a very big uh uplift in my opinion just for the vam for me it's 2250 with fast timings or immediate black screen and well guys that's it for today's video thank you a lot for watching and sorry if the video was kind of boring but I actually wanted to explain the best I could and in order to explain these things properly I need to do an explaining step by step so people that aren't really TCH saavy or techsavvy I believe it's Tech saavy understand the process and understand why things work the way they do if you understand the basis of how it works you will be able to overclock and undervolt much much better better also as for if you want to go to the to the power saving profiles all you have to do is basically just maintain the voltage that you found stable and decrease the maximum frequency just go to the minimum frequency of 500 and decrease the maximum frequency to let's say 2600 if you select these settings 500 MHz of minimum frequency with 2600 MHz of Maximum frequency you'll still you it's a win-win situation so better performance lower power draw and lower temperatures if you want the maximum performance you can get and you don't really care much about the power draw and and and temperatures because you do have a good cooling solution go to 2700 minimum 3,000 maximum these are my tips once again thanks a lot for watching don't forget hit like subscribe and share this video also if you want to to go go to the link in the description you have the my profiles there to download you can download my profiles there my overclocking profiles you absolutely don't need them I repeat you don't need those profiles you can just tweak them yourselves and then just press here export file and save your your profiles your overclocking profiles then all you have to do is go to import profiles select the folder where you have them saved and import them just as soon as you go here for example overclocking profile 7700 XT you just go there press open and it will open and it will show you the settings that you had before okay that's how it works that's all you have to do but if you want my profiles they're in the link in the description as usual leave a comment in the comment section let me know what you think about it uh if you have any doubts once again comment section and I I will answer as fast as I can and yeah that's all for the but for today's video for today's boring video thank you very much for watching and see you in the next one guys cheers [Applause] this members of the resistance report to your nearest intake facility immediately we promise
