hello everyone in today's video i will be showing you how to make chicken pie i am rosie and you are welcome to my kitchen for this recipe i will be using salary carrots [Music] garlic ginger rosemary onions chicken breasts and i will transfer that inside a pot [Music] i will season with ginger onions [Music] rosemary garlic chicken seasoning sauce curry powder and i'll give that a gentle stir you can use any seasoning of your choice to season the chicken and i'm going to cover and transfer it to the stovetop i'll be cooking it without adding water the chicken is going to produce its own water and i'll be cooking it on medium to low heat so 20 minutes later i came to check and at this point the chicken is ready it produced all of that liquid and i will turn off the stove i'll be using a food processor to process the chicken you can also shred the chicken with a fork as well and i'll go ahead to chop that and i'm going to repeat this process until i am done in an empty pot add in some oil you can use any cooking oil of your choice and i have the onions dice the carrot dice and the celery ties add in the onions inside the oil once the oil is hot [Music] and i'll fry the onions until the onions is translucent [Music] add the chicken [Music] add carrots and celery you can also use potato if you are using potato you can add it at this point my kids don't eat potatoes once they sit inside pie so for that reason i don't use potatoes for my pies add pepper and then stir everything together so because the chicken is being cooked already we are not going to be cooking this for so long in a bowl add flour add water and mix it very well this is about two tablespoons and i'll be using this as thickener for the filling it's going to keep the feeling very moist we don't want to have a dry feeling you can also use cornstarch as well so give that a gentle stir and you can see how moist this filling is i'm gonna leave it to cook for about five minutes and this is five minutes later i will still you can taste for season and adjust if needed and is ready i will turn off the stove transfer the filling inside the bowl and spray it out and allow the filling to cool down completely before walking with it for the pie dough i will be using 1000 grams of flour when baking is important to measure out everything you're using you can use a skill like i'm using right now and you can use measuring cups as well i'm using 450 grams of butter you can use margarine as well and i use unsalted butter i use the whole of this pack i will start by sifting the flour and is important to sift the floor before using the floor as well [Music] add two tablespoons of sugar [Music] teaspoon of salt we are using unsalted butter and whisk that together you can also add nutmeg you can add baking powder if you want i'm not using any of those today i'm going to be grating the butter so it will be easy to walk into the flour because i don't want it to melt the butter is very very cold this by hand as well you will need very cold water and add the water gradually till you get a dough so for this i cannot tell you how much water you need just add it gradually till you get a dough i will use my hands to bring everything together do not knead the dough if you need the dough instead of getting a flaky pie your pie is going to be hard divide the dough into two and i'm going to be wrapping it with a clean film and i will be placing the dough in the refrigerator to rest for at least 30 minutes and it's time to start making the pie the filling is here and the dough is out of the refrigerator right here i have one egg i'm going to be adding milk to mince egg wash you can also add water and you can use just the egg without adding anything as well and i will put that aside flour the work surface and roll out the dough so the reason why you put your pie dough in the refrigerator to rest is to make your half a flaky pie as well and that is done and this is how much thickness i'm going for and then i'm going to go ahead to cut stored dough and i'm using this round cutter you can use any cutter of your choice to cut the dough and once that is done i'm going to put all of those aside and i'm going to roll out the ss one off camera brush it with egg wash to seal the pie add some filling do not add too much and i will cover and cut it with the cutter again and i will seal it with the second one so this cutter here i got mine from home goods and i will put that aside i will repeat the process one more time brush it with a wash to seal it add some filling cover it with another one cut and then i will seal it like so you can also use a fork to seal it or a skewer as well and i will put that aside next i will brush it with egg wash add some filling like so [Music] and for this i'm going to close it like that and press it with your hand to seal it very well and i'll be sealing it with a fork as well and i will repeat this process of camera until i'm done with the pie dough here is my baking tray i will lining the train with a baking mat you can use a parchment paper you can also use the butter to rub the pan as well placing all the cut pie at this point you want to make sure the oven is already preheating already [Music] brush with egg wash the egg wash is going to give your pie this shiny and golden brown finishing when it's done [Music] so if you want your pie to be very brown do not mince the egg wash with water or milk and i'll be using a fork to pierce it so the pie can breathe while baking once that is done transfer the pie to the oven to bake for 30 to 35 minutes until they are ready remember everyone's oven is different i'm baking at 350 degree fairy height and 35 minutes later the pie they are out of the oval they are ready allow
