hello everybody I'm Charlie and today I'm going to be showing you how to make my delicious 7up pound cake this time kick is nice and moist with a tender crumb and it is made with all-purpose flour unsalted butter sugar eggs scrubbing up and a hint of lemon flavor to enhance that 7up flavor and not to mention we're going to pour a delicious lemon glaze right on top and down into all that Lampre we love us some 7up pound cake baby and today I'm going to be showing you step-by-step how to make this delicious New Orleans classic so let's get started okay this is all what you're going to need to make your 7up pound cake and we're going to get started with our ingredients you're going to need some all-purpose flour unsalted butter at room temperature sugar 5 large eggs at room temperature and some baking powder and for flavor you're going to need some 7up lemon extract and 1 large lemon and for our cake glaze you're going to need some whole milk and some confectioner sugar and to bake our 7up poundcake you're going to need some Baker's dough a non-stick baking spray and along with that you're going to need a Nordic Ware anniversary but pan and this is a 15 cup but pan and it is perfect for large pound cakes such as the one I'm about to make okay so if you don't have this you can use the regular old standard size but pan okay and along with that you're going to need a cake sifter as well okay and there we have all right let's get straight to it add 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of baking powder and we're going to sift that into a large bowl and we're going to give that a quick stir if you are using a stand mixer use the paddle attachment or you can use a hand mixer in our stand mixer with the paddle attachment add 3 sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature and 3 cups of sugar mix all ingredients together I'm going to start our mixer off on a medium speed just to get the butter and sugar incorporate it then we're going to turn up the speed on our mixer to the highest setting and we're going to mix this on high speed for about 7 minutes now at some point during those seven minutes you're going to stop your mixer and you're going to scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl and you're going to continue mixing that in scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl and there you go now we're going to add five eggs in one at a time we're going to add the first egg in mix that until it's well combined add the second egg mix until well combined add the third egg mix until well combined add the fourth a in mix until well combined and add the fifth egg in mix until well combined and we're done scrape down the sides of your bowl and now we're going to go ahead and add all flavor so we're going to rinse off one large lemon then you're going to assess the entire lemon and you're going to cut it in half add your lemon zest 2 teaspoons of lemon extract using a small mesh strainer we're going to squeeze 1/2 a lemon into our cake batter and that's about a tablespoon of lemon juice that we're adding in there mix all ingredients together until well combined here I have one cup of 7up and I all-purpose flour mixture and we're going to alternate these two into the batter add one cup of our all-purpose flour mixture and 1/3 cup of 7up mix all ingredients together until well combined add one cup of our all-purpose flour mixture and 1/3 cup of our 7up mix all ingredients together until well combined add one cup of our all-purpose flour mixture and 1/4 cup of 7up mix all ingredients together until well combined and we're done looks good we're going to spray our bundt pan with non-stick baking spray and we're going to put our oven to 325 degrees and we're going to add our 7-up cake batter into our bundt pan spread your a 7-up cake batter around the pan using the back of a spoon and to make it even more even we're just going to shake our cake batter around okay now it's ready to be baked place into a preheated 325 degree oven and we're going to bake it for one hour and 15 minutes I'm going to set my timer to 1 hour then once that hour is passed you're going to set it again to 15 minutes all right time is up I'm going to remove our 7-up cake out of the oven after baking on 325 degrees or 1 hour and 15 minutes we're going to do a toothpick test insert it and it's clean and try the other side insert it and it's clean now we're going to let this cake cool which should take about 3 to 4 hours to cool completely okay okay it's cool completely now we're going to go ahead and flip it over already drum roll 1 2 3 look at how beautiful that looks nice beautiful golden brown color to make our cake glaze add 1 1 4 cups of confectioner's sugar 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter 3 tablespoons of hot milk and 1/4 teaspoon of lemon extract mix all ingredients together until well combined you know make sure you mix it real good to remove all of the lumps and there you have it nice creamy consistency and there's no visible lumps now we're going to pour this on top of our cake now look at how beautiful that looks now I'm going to go ahead and cut you a slice and look at how that looks nice and moist looks beautiful and there you have it ladies and gentlemen seven a pound cake made from scratch by a New Orleans native thanks for watching Nash honey will heat and take y'all this pollen cake is
