what's going on guys I'm bill and welcome to Bill's hell - today I'm going to show you guys how to install a whirlybird which is also known as a roofing so there's two main benefits of installing this number one we're going to reduce the temperature in summer so that means all that trapped air that stuck in our roof we're going to be able to circulate that with fresh air simply by installing two of these up on the roof during winter it also plays a very important role once again by circulating fresh air it gets rid of all that buildup of moisture or condensation which leads to mold so very very important points two of these is all you need depending on the size of your house you might need one or two more but generally two is enough there are 120 dollars H this one anyway this one is from Sears arts called wind master regardless which brand you boy it's gonna basically do the exact same job so let's get straight into it guys and I'm about to melt so let's install it let's do this alright we're gonna remove that first whole third one from the top not this one out of the white slide the honey back down we've got the turbine I'll use this because the ground is a little bit hot these roofed holes we've got our flute and then we've also got our base so we're going to take our base first move these runs here out of the way we're going to lift up the top three tiles and slide this one here underneath try get this as centered as possible so now this section here is adjustable as we turn it we can get up for the different levels on our roof so we'll just position this one here turn it around until we've got it roughly level that looks pretty good where it is there make sure it's the right way you can see we've got two little screw holes down the bottom so now you can use the screws that came with the kid but technically what you have to do after that is silicon the screws that's just to make sure that it's 100% watertight but what I like to do instead I just use my hex head screws they're a lot easier to drive in and I've also got a rubber seal on this so we don't have to worry about putting any kind of silicone on there I like to try and get more screw down the bottom over here and I'll show you why in a second but we're going to just put the screws in for this position here first what also comes in this kit is a little piece of metal which is just a bracket so what this one he does we're going to screw it into the timber hopefully you guys can see there the baron timber that's underneath we're going to screw this in this helps to fix this one here into position technically you can just slot it down the side and then bend it down but what I like to do is put a screw through it so we'll just get this one here positioned first bend it down and now we can put our screw into there no way there's no way this one he's moving and now to screw it into the bottom you can't use your metal screws you have to use a timber screw okay so what I'm gonna do is just pre-drill this hole here at first I just need to make my marking see exactly where it's gonna go into the timber and now I can pre drill this hole I swapped my drill bits over now that bottom ones fixed in place as well so we're going to leave this section here we're going to mold this to the tolls at the end we'll take our turbine actually before we do that the flashing that's at the back of this we just want to bend it down a little bit get it to hang on to the back timber so that we make sure we've got a bit more support down there to prevent it from sliding in the future just a bit of added support okay now we've got that turbine can go on so we've got three holes around the edges they line up with these ones here so it doesn't matter which way you put it they're all going to line up in position as well and once that's in you'll be able to see the little hole right there put in another screw three holes all the way around one will screw out the back in our turbines ready to go so what we can do before we finally fix everything into place twisted make sure you happy with the level and once you are there's one more screw that we can put in to prevent this from coming undone in the future and that is on this side right here so this little section here just to prevent it from changing adjustments [Music] [Applause] now we'll Bend there on our little bit of flashing here if you can use a rubber hammer or you can just bend it with your fingers it's pretty soft material just very very hot very very hot might use the back of my drill push that all into place and once that's done guys that's it as always guys a like comment and subscribe until next time I'm bill thanks for watching bill zr2
