hi I'm Josh mini moved from maniac and today I'll be showing you how to achieve an awesome glitch effect in After Effects entirely in After Effects no stock footage like all those other tutorials out there just fractal noise and a called displacement why am i talking about it like this drag you footage to a new composition and create a solid add some fractal noise set the fractal pipe to dynamic and set the noise type to block now drag the complexity down a hold on open the transform tab and take uniform scaling and scaled the width like crazy you animate the evolution so it hurts your eyes and hide that layer away now making sure the layers selected pre composite as shown now the effects are gone now select the movie layer and add a displacement map now set your fractal noise as the displacement map layer and stuff around with the displacement values you can even add the effect to an adjustment layer and try masking it out if you don't really care about what color video looks so if you don't care about it being purple you can use the 3d glasses effect that can look pretty realistic for a glitch I've also found pre composing the layer and then duplicating it three times tinting it different colors and then adding different blending modes and offsetting them slightly that also looks like a like a fairly realistic glitch but you will have to crop it slightly because the edges will have different colors and different black bits okay Nathan this your videos if you like this tutorial like comment and subscribe and I'll see you next time which is probably in like six months because I can't make proper videos because I'm not productive and it's the school holidays and enjoy peace
