How To: Easy 5-Minute Makeup Tutorial

hi my name's Kim some with Bobby Brown cosmetics and I'm gonna show you how I get this look in just five minutes with very few products so first thing before you even start with makeup I always always always have to have hand sanitizer it's a must-have because half the time I'm doing my makeup not at home and a lovely boudoir and a lovely makeup table I'm doing it on the train when I have five minutes to do my makeup I always look where do I look the most tired first and that is under my eyes thank you my Italian father some genetics some lifestyle but then I know that's where I need to cover up first I'm gonna use it's instant full cover concealer you start at the inner corner of the eye and everybody no matter what your eye shape start at that in our corner of the eye and a little trick that I've learned over the years because my eyes are deeper set is you bring the concealer down below the eye socket bringing the concealer down onto the top of the cheekbone will actually help to lift my whole features and it's one of those soft and subtle ways of contouring so you can see the difference apply using a brush this full-coverage face brush came from the heavens it is the best tool in the whole world and I'll do almost all of my face makeup with just that one brush in my makeup bag so again I apply the concealer I just grabbed whatever product came out of the tube and making sure I get right up under the lash line I just tap out the edges and always making sure that inner corner of the eye cuz that in that deep set corner is where I get the most tired so I have a skin foundation stick this literally is my everything stick I have to have this stick not only in one maybe two maybe three shades in my makeup bag but when I have five minutes I literally can draw skin foundation stick sitting on the train I don't need a mirror and I know I can grab a full coverage foundation brush and without even looking in the I can blend the foundation I'm gonna get a seamless natural almost invisible polished skin but make sure that whatever foundation is left on your brush bring it up towards the hairline and into the hairline so that you're not getting any skin that isn't at least with a wash of foundation over it I do my met my five-minute makeup in a compact and the compact is usually a bronzer bronzer my fair skin or best friends using this big awesome fluffy brush I can put bronzer all over my face if I want to tint my skin so those days I'm super tired I might go a little heavier with bronzer go enje and on the days where I just want to add a sunkissed flush to my face then I just put it where this the Sun hits my face so much bronzer okay stop so you know to stop only when the you wanted a product on your brush because it is one of those things you can very easily go too much on and a little tip too is even with that brush after you feel like you've gotten all the product onto your skin you can then just blend the bronzer over the whole face so everything is and we're even I've taken away any darkness under my eye and I want to now add some color in so my blue eyes look the best with pink on the cheek and pink on the lip there is an awesome product it's almost like a huge crayon and it's art stick by Bobbi Brown and I'll start by applying color just on the bottom of the lip and blending it in even just making it like a tint of color on the lips so it doesn't feel too heavy I know it's brought out some pink on my lips and it'll work with whatever eye makeup I have left to do and drawing little stripes and then I'll go back actually to this full coverage face brush and I blend the stripes into a sheer wash of pink on my cheeks smiling helps me find that apple of the cheek and blending it back make sure that my blush stays up higher and then that soft wash of pink makes my blue eyes pop but then to go that next step I want to add definition into my features what I'm going to do is next apply and actually put on some eyebrow when you're blonde like me you have to add a little bit of definition and choosing a color that is in fact the color of our natural root color the way that I apply the color onto my brow is this actual tool has a spoolie on the end you can brush all the hair down on your brow what this little trick does is I can then in soft little feathery strokes I'm applying color onto my skin not onto the brow hair and by doing soft motions it's giving the resemblance more of brow hairs versus that drawn on brow so I'm going to quickly do the same on the other eye and starting where I need color the most which again for a lot of blondes like myself it's from the arch of the brow to the tail of the brow is where hairs start to fade become fewer and fewer and putting that tail right back in is so important to give definition and again the whole purpose of my five-minute makeup is to look polished a little bit more awake and have my features look more lifted then I want to go to my eyes tiredness on me shows darkness under my eye and I get that red pink eyelid the must-have go-to in my makeup kit is long wear cream shadow sticks longer cream shadow sticks are creamy they're buildable they come in to multiple shades the must-have go-to shade is vanilla and why because I can apply vanilla longer cream shadow stick onto my eyelid blend it with my fingers shear it up onto my brow bone and instantly my eye looks less tired it looks more awake and even just with a coat of mascara I know I'm looking a little bit more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed if I have a little like aka 30 seconds more time I'm gonna go for another color there's no fading there's no flaking they don't crease so you can build up so I go for taupe taupe is a pretty warm color and I get to use this color to help add a soft definition to my eye blending it on the outer part of my eye into the crease keeping the inner corner open without the color because again I want to lift up and out so applying the color along the lash line up into the crease and blending it again using my fingers you can use a cream shadow brush but I want you to envision this happening while I'm bumping on the Train and last but also not least the love affair of my makeup world is mascara so Bobbi Brown came out with look how huge this thing is huge mascara wand and at first you're like oh my god how could you put that near my eye you're gonna fall in love with this wand I love the size of this eye-opening mascara this eye-opening mascara literally takes my little wimpy blonde girl lashes and turns them into full defined lashes and it actually has a curling agent in it and it picks my lashes up so it looks like I used a lash curler and know that one coat is bare minimum you want to do at least two or three and mascara especially for us blondes you can never have enough so when you push the mascara into the root and then do a little bit of a zigzag up the lashes it helps to not only add definition to your eyes but then lengthens and gives volume to your lashes so many times I'll look and think oh my gosh I'm feeling fabulous and then I'll take a double back it's always important to look and see you know pull back from the mirror pull from your compacts see what could I do to make it better and I'll see a little bit of a smudge or a swipe makeup usually has 60 seconds a minute of play time before it dries and sets even long-wear product so know that if you get a smudge or a drop or a blip you can have that play time to fix and blend with just a few products that are long-wear easy to apply don't take a lot of time to blend you know you have a couple of brushes it's great to have them all in one place as a busy working mom I know I can do my makeup in five minutes or less and I'll feel more polished and a little better prep for the day
