hey friends today we're gonna draw anglerfish yeah we're gonna draw a funny cartoon version of an angler fish we hope you're gonna follow along you need your drawing supplies we're using a pencil first and then a marker you also need some paper and something to color with yeah you're ready to start yes the reason why we're using a pencil first is to get the main shape of our fish and we're also using marker paper to draw that's because at the end we're drawing and coloring with markers and the paper helps protect our table but also keeps the markers lasting longer okay first let's draw an oval shape or a circle in the middle of our paper and I'm going to press firm so that it's dark and shows up on the camera but you guys at home can press lightly so that it's easier to erase yeah so this is the main shape of our fish or angler fish and we could also add more things to this while we're trying so let's draw the mouth next I'm going to draw it up kind of high so they look like Bulldogs kind of their bottom jaw is out further and so this is the mouth and you could also do different things you could change your drawing any way you want you could draw it so that it's more frowny like this or you could also even add a smile but let's leave it like this and we're going to change the top of our fish's head we're going to come in so that the bottom lip is really sticking out for a character or cartoon anglerfish I'm going to erase these extra lines so that we don't get confused with anything we don't want to keep yeah now let's draw the back of our fish we're going to draw a curve that comes down from here and then let's draw another curve that comes like this but then watch we're going to s-curve down so we're going to blend it into the bottom of the the circle but then come out for the tail yeah that looks really cool then we can add the fin let's draw a curve coming up and to the right and down to the right then we can draw a another curve with a little bump in the middle to finish the thin so we connect the top down to the bottom I'm going to also extend the mouth out just a little more so that we can have the face pointing right towards us so this is going to make it look more like we're looking at the front of our fish then let's add a fin I'm going to draw a curve that comes out like this and then we're going to come back in and then let's add also a similar shape for the other fin to like make it look more 3D now let's switch to our eraser we can erase the guideline that's going through the fin down here and then we can also erase the body line of the circle that goes through the tail I think it's really cool starting with the basic shapes and then turning it into a more complicated shape now let's add another little fin on the back I'm going to draw a curve here and then we could also just draw it coming down yeah what is our angler fish missing now a little light yeah let's turn it into an actual light bulb though and so we could draw a circle also right here I'm going to draw this is the first part of our light bulb and then let's draw a square right here for the threads on our light bulb so we're going to draw a little square above the circle then let's blend the light bulb circle into the threads of our light bulb so we're going to start over here too and we're going to come down and then we'll come into that Circle now we can switch to our eraser and then erase the little circle line that's going through that shape now let's connect our light bulb to our fish we're going to draw an upside down U that goes up from the light bulb we're going to curve around and then we're going to connect into the fish then we can draw the other side of that curve too I'm going to start here and we'll come up around and match the first curve we done it we finished all of the main shapes for our cartoon anglerfish and now we can put our pencil off to the side and switch to our marker we're using our art for kids Hub alcohol base marker but you can use any brand if you don't have the same set and you can also use something completely different like even oil pastels or crayons I really like using a pencil first because then you can erase it but you don't have to you could also just start the lesson with the marker if you wanted to okay now let's start with the eyes I'm going to draw two circles I'm going to draw one right here and another one right here then we can draw a smaller Circle in the top left of each eye and this is good too because the light bulb is right here yeah so this is reflecting into the eye where both eyes and then we're going to color in the big circle but leave that little circle white so it's the reflection of the light bulb in the eye to make it look shiny the next thing let's do is let's move the mouth down with our marker that way we can add more teeth and we have more room in between the eyes and the mouth we could also go in and then we could erase that line that we had in there first and now we can add the teeth I'm going to draw sharp little teeth I'm going to draw a zigzag line that starts on the left side and we're going to go all the way over to the right side change the shapes maybe some of them are bigger and or you could draw these even smaller if you wanted to just little baby sharp teeth I like those things now let's ink over some of the other pencil lines I'm going to start with the top of our fish's body I'm going to curve over and trace on top of the pencil line then we can also do the light bulb I'm going to start over here and first Trace over the square and we can also add diagonal lines for the little threads on the light bulb and then we can also Trace over the actual bulb yeah on old-fashioned light bulbs they had a little wire inside of the light bulb it's called a filament let's draw two lines coming down from the threads then watch this it's a little tricky we're going to start on the left side we're going to create a little Loop we'll come across and then create another loop on the other side you did it good job now let's Trace over the pencil line and connect the light bulb into the fish draw both curves coming around and connecting now let's draw the bottom of our fish I'm going to start on the jaw and connect over to the fin the first fin and then we can ink over the pencil lines for the fin we can also add little texture lines for that fin I'm going to add three little curves oh oh that's all right you keep going I'm gonna do that too keep going and complete all the way to the tail and then we can also just keep going and add this fin in I'm going to draw maybe uh two lines on this one and then we can also Trace over the tail fin I'm going to add three lines no two on the top and two on the bottom and then we can also draw the Top Fin too how many should we add I'm gonna do one two four one two four one two four four we did it we finished drawing our funny angler fish except we're not completely done still need to color it yeah but before we color it let's use our pencil well the Eraser on our pencil and erase any guidelines you can still see okay we're also going to fast forward our coloring part because you can color your fish any way you want but at the end we'll talk about what colors we use okay you ready to speed things up yes [Music] foreign Jack we did it we finished drawing and coloring our funny angler fishes I especially love yours thanks and I like that you changed it too you even added little sun rays around your light bulbs yes looks like it's on and I really like that you changed the colors too you guys can pause the video right now to match her same coloring or change your colors any way you want you could also even add more things to your drawing I I thought the next time I draw this I'm going to add a light switch on the side that'd be really cool I think you could turn on this light bulb you could also add a background oh yeah you could even cut out your fish and paste it on a black piece of paper since these guys live where it's really dark yes we used our art for kids Hub markers I used 88 pink 75 purple and 59 green and 174 green and also we used a white color pencil to add some of the highlights what colors did you use I used 74 for the spots yeah that's a dark blue yeah dark blue then I used 82 of for the fins which is a dark purple I use 85 for the body then I used 33 for the light and then 34 for the shadow on the light and then cg1 for the right here oh yeah the light gray yeah we hope you have fun drawing that cartoon angler fish with us we do we hope you had a lot of fun and we hope you take time to add even more things to drawing and we'll see you later our friends goodbye [Music]
