How to Develop a Strong Spirit

[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay good morning welcome to Eagle Mountain Church we are live right here Fort Worth Texas well north of Fort Worth and this is the revival capital of the world I'm Greg Stevens I'm an associate pastor here today pinch-hitting for pastor Terry Copeland Pierson's and we are going to look at the word you ready are you excited I'm telling you listen I was in San Antonio a ministry business this week this last week and worked down at John Hagee's Christians United for Israel Leadership Conference and had a chance to sit down and learn a couple of things that I am Telling You I'm not gonna preach it yet because I can't I want to study it out I want to talk to pastor George and Terry brother Copeland but I saw something in light of what's happening in our nation and happening around the world that I am convinced guys I am convinced that I am speaking to people that will receive the return of Jesus I'm telling you what so stay with me I want to study it out you understand but you can't hear that but the front row right here says well hurry up and study it up so I will all right I should have just kept my mouth shut I guess right but listen I'm convinced of guys I'm telling you we live in exciting times you're living in Bible times amen okay let's get into the word today here we go father we thank you for your word your word is life your word is we'll give you praise and the mighty name of Jesus we ask you to wash this in your word day that will never be the same in Jesus mighty name we have ears to hear and hearts to receive we'll give you all praise and all glory in Jesus name Amen and amen huh so brother Copeland said something to me this week that started me thinking he said this was this he said you've heard this part before the first words man heard was the blessing now you've heard that before I've heard that and then he followed that followed it with this closely followed to the first thing he heard was don't eat of that tree that was the curse so blessing and cursing was being presented and offered to mankind at the very very beginning and and don't think that's changed you have a choice to make today come on as for me in my house we're gonna choose right okay so we have a choice and the same was for all mankind go to Romans chapter 5 Romans chapter 5 I'm gonna start here and hopefully we can get back here by the end of this thing but I wanna I want to show you the source and looking at the curse a little bit I'll show you the sources and things Romans chapter 5 look at verse 12 and then I'll do verse 17 okay let's take a look at it's right here let's take a look at this therefore just as through one man sin entered the world so one guy because of one man sin entered the world we know that right and death through sin and thus death spread to all men because all of sin we all had that genetic flaw when you're born into this planet come on now okay for example do I do it or do I not do it audio I'm warning you that I'm going to tap my microphone okay so right now as I'm speaking to you live and I do that that little thump that happened on every duplicate they make of this message that's on there because it's on the master that's what happened with Adam so every human coming after that that little thump will be there see that so what had to happen is go to verse 17 please what happened to happen is we had to be remastered listen forth by one man's offense death reigned through the one much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one Jesus Christ so Jesus remastered us he took that little thump that's on that see now they can go back and edit this and take where I hit the microphone out that little pot and that's called remastering and that's exactly what Jesus did in us he took the flaws of our dysfunctional Adam family out of us the moment you accepted him okay now here's the deal and I don't know if you've ever experienced this but Christians tend to overanalyze the circumstances of life yes we do on Christian television you will find those who appear to be experts tell us why God sent catastrophes to different parts of the world there are actually two curses in this world that destroy innocent lives and property now listen I need you understand something although the curse of the law exists the curse of the law is against individuals and not entire nations and cities and states it's against individuals because I showed you the verses by one man by one man you're saved by one man it's not whole groups of people they get saved do with me it's an individual mighty quiet in this presbyterian Cathedral guys stay with me now I know you're thinking but think sometimes with your mouth little encouraged okay okay so listen the curse of the law is still in existence now if I read in Romans chapter what matter fact let me just show you I didn't I didn't tell them I was gonna do this in Romans chapter 10 verse 4 let me just read it to you for Christ this one man where this went away from for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness now notice that to every one that believeth the end of the law for righteousness I'm not righteous because of the law I'm righteous because one man took that curse of the law in my place and because of my faith in him he has transformed my spirit man in an instant and I am free from that curse and so I'm not righteous because of the law I'm righteous because of what Jesus did and my faith in Him stay with me so we tend to overanalyze things so you need to understand this if you're not born again you're still under the law and the law is condemning you but once I've been born again or remastered in Christ Jesus and the scratches and the pops come on now have been removed they remaster an album from the 1960s their 70s I don't know I'm trying to that couldn't that I just went blank I couldn't think of a single group they they just take all of those songs and they remaster them and they'll tell you that on the on the program you know digitally remastered and sold the scratches and the pops and all that stuff is out of there that's what God did in you and you are totally clean as if Adam had never happened alright y'all that's a good that's a good moment right there now listen I'm gonna tell you something you're gonna have to have faith for that because everything in your life and everybody that's around you is gonna convince you that's not true because you'll cut somebody off walking in the parking lot or whatever it is right and your conscience will tell you all right I'll just go on so you need to understand the curse of the law still exists it's against individuals and not entire governments so let me tell you about when God curses God does it curse yes he does yes he does not you you're in Christ let me show you to you God can and he does curse there is no doubt that he sent the flood of Noah there's no doubt about it I know there's no way that was anybody but him Satan Lucifer is not that powerful and let's just make a little legal argument right quick if Satan could send the flood all right if he could send the flood first of all his destruction never can add up to the size and scope of God's destruction okay if Satan could send the flood why would he destroy all of the unrighteous and spare only the righteous he wouldn't do that he's gonna leave a try chist people and destroy all of his folks no it would be just the opposite wouldn't it why would he why would here's the other part of this why would he give the wicked a hundred and twenty years to repent and be saved from what's coming Satan wouldn't do that so it's very obvious that the father did do this he did send it God also sent destruction on Sodom and Gomorrah let me help you with something Sodom and Gomorrah do not exist today they're gone whenever God does anything he does it thoroughly completely and whenever he curses which is very few times whenever he cursed us something it's gone I mean gone Sodom and Gomorrah is gone Jesus will curse three cities three towns in his ministry they are cuisine Bethsaida and Capernaum all three of them today are archaeological ruins and there's no towns there Wow that's right whatever he curses is complete this that's why you gotta watch what if you represent him to speak for him and watch what you're running around cursing all the time Oh Egypt the ten plagues on Egypt of the destruction of the habits of Canaan for their resistance he was warning them for over 400 years he's very slow to move on things like that because he's not willing that any should perish so let me let me share a few things with you so that will help you when God sends judgment or destruction he gives him warnings far far in advance look I put him up here they put him up she put him up here for me thank you he gives warnings far in advance far far in advance number two he gives opportunity to repent and be spared no was preaching for all of those years warning people about it number three he only destroys the wicked never the righteous he only destroys the wicked ones number four he spares the righteous even those who are carnold oh what'd I just say there he spared there are carnal righteous people I love you but ever experienced that if you've ever whale you're laughing if you've ever gone to church you've met righteous Colonel people they might be in here don't look around somebody will think that you doubt it not here but some places down the road maybe we want proof of that he spares the righteous even those who were colonel if you look at if Abraham Abraham's was a nephew lot it says righteous lot ratchet lot is righteous yet he's totally oblivious to what's about to hit his city in 24 hours has no clue well God's about to do I'm just letting that sneak in there for a second so he's Colonel he's not being led by the spirit he doesn't have a clue but he's righteous oh my so he he spares the righteous even those who are Karl because once your righteous your righteous Jesus won't you that just went right past you see you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and when you're the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus just because you don't feel anything doesn't mean that the Spirit is not moving in a service listen they were all present when they lowered the guy down through the roof the power of God the scripture says was present to heal them all and most of them were setting there totally oblivious to the power God is present to heal them why probably carnal just my guess number five I'll get off of that one would that be a fun one to just stay on for a while wouldn't but that might be carnal for me to do that he look at this look at this he removes the righteous before sending destruction or he protects the righteous tearing destruction Noah's Flood is a great example of both of those both of those let me show you he protects the eight lives through it or Jesus said as it was talking about the end times as it was in the days of Noah so shall it be well what happened in the days of Noah first of all he gave a long time for them to repent he puts eight people that he puts a try chah's in an ark that will go through small group of people there were three groups of people the first group of people were the vast majority of the unrighteous that drowned in the flood right there were eight righteous a small little group of small let me let me say it this way a remnant was placed in an ark and they went through it they went through this this judgment come on now for him who has ears to hear yet there was something else that happened right before it there was one guy who missed it all together he might know who he was Enoch Enoch he was raptured before the judgment came upon the earth hmm was just one guy yeah it was one body one body left first oh come on guys listen to me one body left one group was sealed and went through it and the rest perished I'm gonna tell you something I'm part of that body even when he God sends a curse every time God sends a curse he is a God of grace he sends a way out all right when Adam sinned listen this now you need to extend this when Adam sent a curse immediately went into the earth immediate animals turned against each other plants were infested with weeds and thorns Birds became prey to each other mankind was faced with wars lawlessness attacks from nature including earthquakes tornadoes hurricanes famines floods but when God curses it's very select times very few times Adam's curse is 24/7 you live in it but you're not of it now did you catch what I just said you live in it but you're not of it god only curses the wicked matter of fact you can see that in proverbs 3 proverbs 3 and verse 33 says the curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked but he blesses the home of the just not God listen I know a lot of you I know a lot of folk are upset about this all uptight about this Korona thing and I'm not making light of it but listen the curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked but he blesses the home of the just I am justified in Christ my house is blessed I have Psalm 91 I have the blood of Jesus I have the name of Jesus come on now I am NOT gonna get in fear about this thing I'm gonna pray not from a position of fear but a position of power woo Adams curse does not discriminate it hits believers and unbelievers alike God gives warning every time Satan Satan gives no warning come on now I'm telling you a difference between them okay so I know a lot of preachers want to preach that this came it happened and that happened and the other thing happened and the other thing happened what about in the life of Jesus Luke chapter 13 let me show you something Jesus is going to speak about some calamities and some disasters that happened in his in his time I was surprised I shared this with the kids a couple of Bible College students and the vast majority 100% of them no I'm not not quite that the vast majority of them had never seen this before in in Luke chapter 13 verse 1 there were some present at that very time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices isn't that interesting so there's a massacre that happens right here in verse 1 what happened is the Galileans came from the area where Jesus is from and go down to Jerusalem to offer their sacrifice and the Roman Pontius Pilate sends soldiers into the crowd with them in plain clothes wearing their uniforms with swords and he killed them they are the the soldiers all of a sudden once they word filtrated him killed them in massacred him while they were offering their sacrifice lamb so their blood was mingled with the blood of the sacrifices horrible thing that happened so verse two and he answered them do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than the other Galileans because they suffered in this way now Jesus is a Galilean do you think these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered in this way and what does he say no I tell you but unless you repent you will all likewise perish isn't that very interesting no I tell you but unless you repeat you all likewise parries verse 4 or heed now he tell us about a national disaster or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them so here's what happened before you go to the temple you wash in the pool of Siloam and then you walk about a half a mile up and you go to the temple a tower apparently fell and killed 18 people that's a disaster CNN and Fox News they'd have all kinds of stuff go there'd be helicopters flying over who's at fault who did this why is this right so 18 people are killed while they're being baptized to clean themselves in the pool of siloam do you think they were worse offenders that all the offender's who lived in Jerusalem no I tell you but unless you repent you will all likewise perish Jesus has let it be known the blood of his the people shed mingled with sacrifices was not a greater they weren't greater sinners than anybody else so listen because bad things happened doesn't mean that they were being judged that's why she's trying to say how many of you did not know that these two little incidences were there in the in the Gospel of Luke becomea be honest with me a whole bunch of hands in this he's talking about natural disasters that happened in his time and God didn't do this is what he's saying the tower that fell was not because it didn't aim for the sinners and missed the righteous it hit whoever hit so personal sins are not the criteria for destruction in the world the curse caused by Adam is always at work and it increases each day against all of us unrighteous and righteous but see here's the thing I'm righteous so therefore I'm out from under this thing so let me help you with something Mount Saint Helens Hurricane Katrina hurricane sandy they are not from God they are result of the curse of Adam which was backed by Satan if they were from God New Orleans would not be here today the curse will be present until it's removed at the second coming of Jesus when he will rule over this entire earth don't overanalyze circumstances by measuring the amount of sin well you know norman's is a sinful city therefore or San Francisco or this or that there what would stop that you're doing what they did in Jesus in Luke chapter 13 if that's true is but it's because of sin then explain to me why a tornado destroyed Joplin Missouri crickets in the room I hear crickets that's a family friendly city with many Christians in it so was God upset at the Baptist and the Assembly of God in Joplin no see how we see how we impugn him trying to explain something that's natural in the earth because of Adam but because of Adam I'm not in Adam anymore I'm in Christ Jesus because of one man well because of one man I'm in righteousness because of one man I'm in the blessing because of one man I'm in protection don't worry that God Jesus told believers to repent to be spared from the tax of life repentance for believers is not just to go to heaven guys but to be protected from daily circumstances in our life Satan will aim for believers as well as unbelievers but he's limited in seeking only believers that he could devour that means there must be some that he may not be able to devour why is that they've asked for forgiveness they used first John 1:9 they walk in that they walk in love they look for they have faith in divine protection God will protect you from the evils of life whether you know they're coming or not that ought to be good news for somebody listen as long as I'm in this earth I'm gonna keep serving God and I and my angel is going to keep serving me and protecting me you gotta have faith in that here's the thing guys and I want to get off of this because you start talking about the curse and people get all freaky on you and did you understand now what's going on in the earth that when God does something he's very thorough with it and he's not doing this now and listen because you're in Christ Jesus you will not be judged like the rest of the planet will overtake God Jesus became the curse church he became the curse a matter of fact let me take a couple of minutes right here and let brother Copeland set this up and then we're going to talk about what Jesus did on the cross watch this verse seven he made of himself talking about Jesus no reputation took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men and being found in fashion as a man he humbled himself and became obedient unto death even the death of the cross jesus said now you go back to the book of Hebrews Jesus said no man can take my life it is mine to take up or to lay down no man can take it he made himself obedient unto death you know what he had - he had to die by faith because he never said there was no death in him he said that that wicked one comes he's found nothing in me when Satan came against him Jesus just kept answering it is written it is written it is written he put him down and he kept him down let me ask you something where did those words it is written would it would it come from the seed out of the seed it was already in there Oh God so now here he is he makes himself completely obedient to death and God laid on him I'm not talking about his flesh his flesh was involved he laid on him all sin all sickness all disease what was this the entire curse of the law all of it he was made a curse for us that we might be made that we might receive the blessing of Abraham he laid on him all of it Wow it's heavy stuff once you begin to study what that was let me tell you when it started Jesus became the curse the transfer began in the Garden of Gethsemane the Gethsemane means the press lissa this that's where the blood began to flow so that's where the atonement is beginning so that's where the transfer is starting that's the first place he's bleeding so that's the first place of the transfer the curse began in a garden the curse coming on him began in a garden and well wait a minute no let me let me rephrase that the curse for mankind and the earth began in a garden and the end of a curse is going to begin in a garden there's no coincidence in this people I spoke with dr. Williams dr. Williams tenses church he is a he's a psychiatrist and I didn't speak to him for that reason that thank you but I did speak to him to get to ask him about something and I told him I said I'm a path as a pastor here I'm calling you about a man and I kind of was he figured it out but I was kind of being sneaky like I had a man in the church that was going through this thing and I need some advice from him so that I could get a direct answer from you know I mean they didn't spiritualize it and then he figured out what I was talking about I said I have a man and that is in his early to mid-30s he's normally very stable individual but he's been under great stress sweating profusely to the point that capillaries in his face and all had broken he's irritable he's sleepless even threw himself down on the ground felt like he was at the point of death anxiety he stopped me he figured out I was talking about Jesus in the garden but he said I said well doc give me a diagnosis on this guy and we looked at it we went through it and he said well here's the thing I would I would definitely medicate him I would admit him for observation because he's experiencing anxiety he's having a complete nervous breakdown he said I'm gonna say he's probably bipolar borderline schizophrenia happening he's hearing voices he's he's attacking the people that are with him why are you guys sleeping can't you not for the first time here's the deal Jesus is always been in control of every situation he's ever been in you ever wondered why there was more demonic we understand more about the demon realm in the angel realm in the New Testament than we did the Old Testament ever wonder why that is there was less light in the world in the first Testament once Jesus came into the world light returned and so every time the light reveals every time that light would go somewhere it would reveal things every time like when he crossed the sea to go to the gathering the region of the gadarenes this demonic man comes running towards him and sees that bright light falls down in front of him come on now so light revealed things light reveals things now now you are what light you reveal things I remember walking down the street one day in Southern California and there was this guy sitting there on the side of the sidewalk he began to growl at me and snarl at me and make all kind of crazy noises and I went oh here we go it began to happen stuff like that well what happened whatever was in him was reacting and I wasn't trying to do anything I'm just walking with my kids pushing a stroller but light reveals my god all right so he says he would medicate him he's bored he's bipolar he's borderline schizophrenic he's having a complete total breakdown this is a guy who slept in a storm in the boat this is the guy who didn't get moved by that regarding toward him this is the guy that raised the dead this is the guy that they tried to throw him off the cliff and he walked right through him this is the guy that said peace be still - a storm he's been in control of every situation in his life but now that the curse is beginning to come upon him he's not in control yet he's in control he'll get control an angel will come to minister to him to keep him alive he's about to die in the garden as the weight of this stuff's coming on him and an angel he can't die in there cause cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree that the blessing might come upon the Gentile he has to go through with it this is the first time he's actually even doubted father if there's another way if you can find another way I'm willing nevertheless not my will but your will be done I'm gonna do this I'm gonna finish this thing and no man took his life he became strengthened once that angel ministered to him come on guys and he walked it out from that moment forward he said I would I would admit him into the hospital for observation and certainly medicated and that's something that's Jesus in the garden I used to teach this and I'm gonna tell you some write this down here it is I was wrong that's why I wanted right now I was wrong I used to teach that God turned his back on Jesus that God rejected him no that's that's contrary to other places in the scripture that that Jesus was hanging on the cross between God and man you understand let me help you with something when he was carrying the cross when he was going through this whole thing he didn't have a little towel wrapped around his waist he's totally nude they shamed him they pulled his beard out I mean just grabbed it and pulled it you got you're bigger than I am I'm not gonna try it but that would not be fun they beat him they whipped him it's horrible what they did to him come on guys and he did all of that to reverse the curse to give us a path to righteousness my god everything he's going through in front of his mother totally nude beaten and I started saying that I used to say that he was hanging between heaven and earth staring in the face of the just God what she was and God turned his back on him when he said my God my God why have you forsaken me I used to teach that and then I realized I'm wrong because he said I'll never leave you nor forsake you and and there's even scriptures that talk about even though David talks about I go to the pit of hell together you were with me and right and I got to thinking father if you could turn your back on Jesus and I'm in Jesus that means you could turn your back on me that can't be so I've taught it wrong all of you that were in San Diego California at my church I apologize for getting it wrong but I'm gonna get it right right now many of them watch that's why I said that let me let me show you something I've reversed my position when he cried out my God why have you forsaken me I realized what he was doing let's go to let's go to Psalm Psalm 22 oh man I'm gonna hold my place in Romans this this might be the shout times right here let me show you something Psalm 22 written by David written by David the word came out of Jesus guys all the time he's always saying it is written he's always speaking the word why brother Copeland just said it he that's the seed when he's hanging on the cross think about who's around all of the religious leaders guys a small percentage of Jewish people crucified him it was the Romans the rest of us all of us crucified him it was a small little group of people that were in that court that trial that day of that probably eight hundred thousand people that were in Jerusalem during the feast maybe eight hundred people were in that courtyard during his trial he's offered up and he said you know I always give you this is this is Pilate who had killed years before had killed Galileans during sacrifice hmm now we had another Galilean during sacrifice in that interesting hmm the blood of the Lamb mixed with the blood of a Galilean kind of foretold what's gonna happen in a year or two didn't it so here we go he brings out this other guy named Barabbas and we offered them Barabbas remember that now if you look at his name his name is bar-abba son of father father son was offered instead of the son of the Father oh my god is that crazy Jesus has the only begotten son of the Father but Barabbas his name means son of the Father I'll give you this son of the Father which has the flaw of Adam in him or this son of the father hello so when Jesus is hanging on the cross guess what he's doing all of those religious leaders are around him and he gives them a verse from Psalm 22 that should have stirred something in them look at Psalm 22 and verse 1 I'm going to the screen watch this my God my God why have you forsaken me when Jesus said that it's not that God turned his back on him it's he's preaching the word from the cross this chapter is prophesying about crucifixion hundreds of years before crucifixion will be even be invented let me let me show you some other verses let me show you [Music] verse 12 do you have that many Bulls have surrounded me strong Bulls of Bashan have encircled me if you do a study in in in time prophecy and the old days you'll find out that's demonic he surrounded I'm surrounded by demons on the cross let me show you let me show you another verse from Psalm 22 let's go to the next one verse verse 14 I poured out like water all my bones are out of joint they didn't bring a single bone but they're out of joint look at verse 18 look at verse 18 they divided my garments among them and my clothing they cast lots David wrote this hundreds of years before it happened and so everything Jesus is doing that day is fulfillment of this and so when he says my God my God why have you forsaken me he's preaching from the cross so that they'll wake up and see what's happening he's still not willing that even these people are to perish he even will say forgive them for they know not what they do he's trying to tell them what they're doing he's trying by quoting Psalm 22 verse 1 he's trying to tell them what they're doing and they still don't have ears to hear it now God does things in threes a lot of times often he does things in threes so Psalm 22 Psalm 23 and Psalm 24 are connected guys they're connected prophetically in Psalm in Psalm 24 let me go to that one first the earth is the Lord's and the fullness the area of the world and they that dwell therein look at verse 7 let me show you verse 7 lift up your heads o you gates and be lifted up you everlasting door and the King of glory shall come in who is this King of glory the Lord strong and mighty the Lord mighty in battle lift up your heads o you gates lift up you everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in who is this King of glory the Lord of Hosts he is the king of glory so in twenty-two we have a crucified Jesus and 24 we have the King of glory well what about twenty-three oh well let me show you twenty-three because it's right between them in it the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want [Music] okay let me just share with you written the crucifixion and the crucifixion here's what happened it began on Passover so in the Jewish feast there are three days in a row that are our feast days to the Lord Passover what's next unleavened bread unleavened bread goes to firstfruits and they're boom boom boom three days this is why he was in the grave those three days it was important to fulfill those three feast and he hid it exactly to the day he hits Pentecost exactly to the day in Pentecost three the first Pentecost three thousand people died Moses came down the mountain with the with the tablets of stone you know what happened three thousand died in Pentecost in Jerusalem in Acts chapter two the Holy Spirit will be poured out that rushing mighty wind is all the angelic armies of the Most High entering back into this earth that's the sound they heard and tongues of fire send it upon each of them that's Jesus baptism John's baptism is under water Jesus baptism is a baptism of fire so they were baptized in Jesus my god hallelujah three thousand people were born again a baptized that day so he absolutely fulfilled what happened in exodus three thousand died three thousand will be born again when the Holy Ghost came it's not a coincidence people he's exact in his timing and precise in his wording precise in the Covenant my god so look at this now in the grave one Passover right he's he's Passover he dies they put him in the grave they have to hurry in the grave during an unleavened bread comes out on firstfruits Psalm 23 so 22 is on the cross Passover day 23 is unleavened bread 24 this resurrection day let me show it to you the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want he maketh me lie down in green pastures he leadeth me beside the still waters he's lying down he's in the grave he restoreth my soul he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake Jesus is being led in paths of righteousness because he became unrighteousness who knew no sin whew verse 4 verse for verse 4 shows it yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death he is walking through during that time I will fear no evil for you are with me your rod and your staff they comfort me and then beautiful look at this look at it it's unleavened bread right you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies you anoint my head with oil my cup runneth over what's next you know this one surely goodness and mercy God by His mercy is going to reach into the pit of hell and pull Jesus up out of there and he pulled you and I and every one of us that believed in him with him [Applause] they follow me surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life look at this I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever how long forever woo now you go now let's look at 24 when he came out of the grave let's look at 24 the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof why he took the keys to death hell and the grave today and come receive more healing well glory to God it's offering time amen hallelujah all right now listen don't lose don't lose steam on me now we've had we're having Church this morning I'm excited about it I want you to turn your Bible to Malachi chapter 3 look at Malachi chapter 3 this is kind of the classic offering scripture tithe scripture but the Lord has given me some new meaning concerning this scripture some new revelation where the scripture is concerned this is the second Malachi 3:10 is the second scripture that I ever learned by heart it's the second scripture that the first one being John 3:16 everybody learns John 3:16 by heart the second scripture that ever learned by heart was Malachi chapter 3 verse 10 because I always heard preachers say it I heard preachers preach it and say it over and over and over and over again and I used to make fun of preachers when I was young it's funny how that comes around right I know right I used to make fun of preachers I was not I didn't like preachers very much and so I made front of preachers and so I would make fun of preachers saying this scripture and so I learned this scripture by heart mostly because this scripture scared the bejesus out of me because the the context of the scripture if you just hear it it's you know you're cursed with a curse the whole nation you bring the tithes into the storehouse so there could be meat in my house you kind of get this as a teenager I was really afraid because of this Scripture but something happened to me the 2019 September to 15th I had an experience right here in our sanctuary and then brother Copeland began to speak about covenant and teach about covenant but specifically about Jehovah Sabbath or the lord of Angel armies and it changed my perception of this scripture forever in order for you to understand the scripts you need to understand the historical context first and foremost Judah was a small province among 120 other provinces that were under Persian rule at the time that Malachi wrote what he wrote the Levitical priesthood of the day was so rocked by corruption that people had lost all respect for priests because of corruption the priests of the day neglected their covenant duties to the people which included teaching the people to understand their covenant with God and consequently there was no understanding of covenant relationship among the people so the people developed an overall attitude of dissatisfaction with faith in God they began to believe that God didn't love them and that he didn't care what happened to them Judah was in an economic depression at the time and had neglected the tithe and the people lost all hope of ever being free from Persian rule they lost all hope of the presence of God ever being restored and they lost all hope in the coming Messiah Malachi whose name literally means messenger had a prophetic assignment to restore an understanding of covenant to God's people and the theme of his message was this God loves you with an everlasting love God loves you with an everlasting love when I understood that I understood that Malachi didn't right what he wrote under a hammer type compulsion a top-down you need to do this or you're going to die there was a reality a real reality of neglecting the ties there but his overall message was God loves you with an everlasting love and his covenant ties him to you and he will never leave you nor forsake you so under that anointing he writes Malachi 3:10 bring all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be food in my house and try me now in this says the Lord of Hosts if I will not open the windows of heaven and pour you out such a blessing that you will not have room to receive it in that scripture there's an untranslated particle that literally means this please please please it says though he was writing bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there can be food in my house and please try me here please try me in this and watch and see if I will not respond he identifies himself as the Lord of hosts this is an identification that she used over 200 times in the Old Testament to use 19 times in Malachi alone 19 times in Malachi alone the Lord of hosts or this word host literally means to serve and can be translated to wage war in its noun form it's translated to armies or those who serve or troops and it is used to describe a military campaign this is what I saw on September 15th I was sitting in my seat pastor Greg was receiving the offering he's doing the offering message and he gave the ushers instruction to serve the people and when he did I saw this in my spirit and it was almost like I saw it with my physical eyes I didn't see it with my natural eyes but I saw it so real in my spirit the ushers were passing the baskets they had received the offering we had passed them to the end of the row and they were coming up to stand at the altar like they normally do and I saw angelic beings with their swords drawn holding them like this coming down our aisles and they stood behind our Usher's and when the ushers took the offering out on this side those soldiers about-face and they turned to walk out with our tithes and with our offerings I was meditating about that as I was getting ready for this message and the Lord showed me this he said this the tithe is not something that you give but it's something you invoke when you tithe it obligates heaven in two ways first the windows of heaven are open and a blessing is poured out on you in such measure that you do not have room to contain it it propels you into the realm of the overflow but second the Devourer is rebuked warrior angels go to work on your behalf enforcing your covenant of prosperity against the forces of lack and poverty the Lord of Angel armies the very military force of heaven has guaranteed himself and all of the military might of heaven to enforce the covenant of provision that exists between you and him that covenant has been ratified by the blood of Jesus you are Jesus's blood brother heir to the blessing of Abraham God will not forget that and he sees you right where you are the tithe is your way out it brings your seed into angelic protection and these are not cute cuddly halo wearing angels that you see on TV they are trained skilled warriors who are ready to serve and minister to those who are heirs of salvation according to Hebrews chapter 1 verse 14 they are the heavenly special forces they are heavenly Navy SEALs they are have Green Berets who specialized in the enforcement of your covenant prosperity when I saw those angels escort the tithe out of this room God made me to know that I'm serious about the prosperity of my people and when you tithe in faith you link up to what God has said concerning you and concerning your inheritance but when you do it by faith you invoke something you invoke something it's as though you step into a place that God has said I will use any means necessary to ensure that you receive what rightfully belongs to you I'm telling you church listen to me I'm telling you this the church has been broke for too long and there are prosperity angels assigned to us the only question is are you going to use your faith to activate them when you tithe by faith you activate angel armies and he's the god of Angel armies and he goes to war on your behalf and that war has already been waged in one through the blood of Jesus now it's just a matter of are you gonna use your faith to enforce the victory amen amen now if you're giving this dividing asunder of soul and spirit and joint and Morrow discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart and I thank you for the the utterance utterance that was declared earlier in this service I receive utterance Lord illustrations that I have not thought about things that I hadn't considered that you'll bring forth in this message today and I believe that this message will change lives it will turn people around it will get them set on a course that they need to be and we want to glorify you father for that Holy Spirit minister to everyone here and everyone who is watching speak to them give them answers during this time of the Word of God revealed things to them and we give you the Thanksgiving and the praise and the honor for once again the Word of God being preached and changing our lives transforming us into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ and everybody said amen amen amen I want you to open your Bibles this morning to Ephesians chapter 6 Ephesians chapter 6 Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 10 recently over these last couple of weeks I have been confessing this scripture and as I was preparing for today's service the Lord really had me hone in on this and share some things with you about just what I have been doing in terms of declaring this and confessing this and receiving from the Lord about this but Ephesians 6 verse 10 let's read it together ready let's read finally my brethren be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might let's go on to verse 11 - that's a good one put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil well the Lord has had me confessing this verse 10 and I've just been saying this over and over to myself I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might say that with me I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might say it again I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might one more time I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and I've just been declared the Lord has led me to do that he's just having me say that over myself I'm strong in the Lord I am strong in him and I'm strong in in the power of his might when it says there finally my brethren what he's saying there really is most importantly in my brethren be strong in the Lord be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might listen to what the amplified translation of verse 10 says in conclusion be strong in the Lord be empowered through your union with him draw your strength from him that strength which is boundless Mike provides I really like that be strong in the Lord be empowered through your union that's how we are strong in him we are empowered through our union with him then it says draw your strength from him draw your strength that strength which has boundless might that boundless means there's no boundaries whatsoever there's no limit to what he has for us no limit to what his might provides for us so let me make this statement to you the stronger we are in Christ the more successful will be at overcoming every challenge and receiving the fulfillment of every faith project the stronger that we are in Christ the more successful we will be at overcoming first of all every challenge and then receiving the fulfillment of every faith project say I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might let the weak say I am strong give God praise for that this morning glory to God open your Bibles to proverbs chapter 18 proverbs 18 the Lord really put this on my heart and I've been digging into it lately it's something that I have studied out before I have preached this even before but you know it doesn't hurt to go back on those things that we've talked about and review them and go back over them again and I really believe this is very important this is very important for us I know that everybody in here has faith projects things that you're believing for in your life and the stronger you are in him the easier it is going to be to be able to lay hold of that which you are believing for to get rid of all the weakness in our lives so that we are strong on the inside and in the power of God's might so in proverbs chapter 18 and look with me at verse 14 it says the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit who can bear now the amplified translation of this is what we're really looking at and it really clarifies a couple of things to us the amplified bible says this the strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear a strong spirit of a man the strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or in trouble but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear so to me it appears that to develop a strong spirit would be a most important thing to do as opposed to allowing weakness to take over I'll read this to you every believer has the same capacity to walk in a greater place of spiritual strength every one of us every one of us has the capacity to walk in a place of spiritual strength and that spiritual strength can grow on the inside of us it can get stronger and stronger and stronger in the same way a person can get weaker and weaker and weaker so I choose to be stronger there's a lot of things going on in our lives we're pastoring the church leading the ministry leading the Bible school traveling doing all sorts of things we have family and so it's better to be strong in him why is that to be able to handle the impact of whatever comes at you whatever it is that's trying to come against you the stronger you are in your spirit man that the easier it's going to be to be able to handle the things that go on in our lives and there is the increased capacity of being able to handle more I mean have we ever gotten to the place we're saying I can't handle one more thing it's just piled up remember we talked about the pile-up effect I can't handle one more thing I can't take one more thing I'm so overwhelmed by what's going around me but the stronger you are in him the more you are able to handle the things that you're facing I look back over the years in my experience as being a believer and I was born again during the 70s and all these years have been growing in him getting stronger and stronger and I can look back at things that went on years ago that I worried about I was so concerned about I was so overwhelmed over and today there nothing at all it's a small thing it's a small thing well what does this happen I've grown I've matured and I've kept myself focused on building up my spirit man listening to the word acting on the word meditating on the Word of God so we have the capacity to walk in a greater place of spiritual strength but I'll tell you what it takes do you want to know what it takes to do that it takes developing a strong spirit you have to develop a strong spirit in the developing of a strong spirit is a concept that I first heard some years ago and it was actually through a series of messages that brother Keith Moore taught on how to develop a strong spirit and you can get that that's available on their website all of their messages are out there and you can go to to more Life Ministries and you can you can get I think it's five or six messages that he taught on this and when I first started listening to them it really did something to the inside of me and really it really spoke to my heart about some things that I needed to do some things that needed to be done and I've heard others brother Copeland has taught this the developing of the recreated human spirit that's one of the things that he has taught over the years how to develop the recreated human spirit how do we develop our spirit man and so I listen to those messages and then I prepared them for church I came in and I taught them some years ago in church and then glory and I did a two-week series called developing a strong spirit there's the study guide can you get close of that there's the study guide I was I've been looking through it and just just reviewing some things about it and this morning I just stood in the mirror now I'm strong in the Lord and in the power of I'm getting stronger you hear me I said you hear me I'm getting stronger spiritually I'm getting stronger and the Lord told me he said put this up to a mirror and see what this looks like he said that's a picture of what the devil sees in you that's me that's who I am that's what I do and I'm getting stronger in it so you can you can do further study with this again these outlines and all the videos are available on KCM you go to Keith Moore ministries but let me give you just some highlights of what I've learned about the developing of a strong spirit first of all let me give you a quote from brother Keith Moore a strong spirit will get you through anything a strong spirit will get you through anything whatever's going on whatever is happening the stronger your spirit is the more you are able to stand up against it you are able to as I said before you can withstand the impact you know they build buildings in San Francisco a certain way they build them to withstand an earthquake and there are buildings that stand there there have been earthquakes that have hit San Francisco and there will be buildings that will stand right in the midst of it why because those buildings were designed specifically to handle the impact of an earthquake well there are certain things that we can do to withstand the impact of anything anything anything that tries to hit us and I'll show you something turn to Luke chapter 6 Luke chapter 6 I just thought about this one in Luke chapter 6 now here's a picture of the difference between an individual with a weak spirit and an individual with a strong spirit Luke chapter 6 and look with me at verse 46 talking about withstanding impact no matter what it is the devil's out there he's trying to stop us he's trying to overwhelm you he's trying to run you over he's trying to stop the word from going in and the word from going out but the stronger that you and I are the more we are able to withstand the enemy withstand his strategies and stand up to him take our authority and say no get out of my garden what Adam should have said to him but we can do it and there's a force there's a force on the inside that can be developed and it can be fed and it can be strengthened and we can reach new places that we've never reached before in the ability to believe God like we've never believed before there are things that I'm able to believe him for now that I wasn't able to believe him for 10 20 or even 30 years ago I've developed I've changed I've developed on the inside and I've seen the faithfulness of God over and over and over again and that faithfulness of God has built that strength on the inside that I've seen it so much that I am confident in him there's something about walking in a confidence in him a confidence in his word I am confident in what he said it's gonna come to pass I'm gonna see it happen I see it with the eye of faith well looking at the difference between a strong spirit and a weak spirit it says in verse 46 of Luke 10 Luke 6 rather 46 why call ye me Lord Lord and do not do the things which I say or do not act on the word whoever comes to me and hears my sayings and does them I will show you to whom he is like he's like a man which built a house and dug deep and laid the foundation on a rock and the flood arose the stream beat vehemently upon that house and it could not shake it was founded upon a rock that storm could not shake the house letters have studied this out before I can see he had a next-door neighbor and this is this is interesting to me because I've seen this maybe you've seen this picture years ago there was a hurricane I believe it went through Florida and the there were a lot of houses especially in this Beach area wiped them all out except for one have you ever seen that picture if you haven't you ought to google it and look at it everything else is wiped out around it except that one house is standing and it makes me think about this it makes me think about this scripture because in verse 49 but he that heareth and doeth not is like the man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth against which the stream did the stream or the storm same storm same storm different results same storm same conditions different results that is the difference and I'll finish this out the storm beat vehemently and immediately it fell and the ruin of that house was great what am I looking at here the picture oh you found the crista is that you take money out of my wallet and give it to Kristen I'm looking I'm looking there there it is right there there it is right there and I believe in the midst of whatever is going on in our lives the stronger we are in him the more we are able to withstand whatever the devil throws at us and you can get to the place where when he puts the squeeze on you the only thing that comes out is the Word of God I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might glory to God so really being strong in the Lord is it's like a shock absorber imagine a car without a shock absorber what kind of a ride that would be used to be thrown all over the place but that shock absorber will absorb whatever it is and the stronger you are the easier it will be to be able to do whatever you need to do and I'll use this illustration working out in the gym working out in the gym and I've been faithfully working out in the gym for seven years I have one of our security department a staff here working with me and we've been very diligent with it for the past seven years I've always wanted to do that to train myself to get stronger and there are things I can do in the gym right now that I could not do seven years ago there are things that I'm able to do and things that I have been taught to be able to do that and to be do it to do it to lift to lift heavier and heavier and heavier and heavier weight well that's the same thing spiritually when you develop yourself in in the development of your spirit man then you are able to do heavy lifting heavy faith lifting see it doesn't look impossible to you there'll be a weight that I'll look at that that at one time was impossible it was hard it was really hard and I look at that same weight and it's really easy and that's the same thing with a development of your spirit man the more you develop in that and the more you feed on the and I'll tell you a few things that just they'll take away things today that you can start working on this right away but the stronger you are the more you're able to stand up against whatever it is that is coming against you in the strength the strength of the Lord I was looking at a scripture a little while ago about I was strengthened with his strength that's what I want that's what I want cause the weaker you are and the more tired you are then you are bait for the devil to run over you and you are not to be bait for the devil you are not to be run over you are to stand and take your authority and believe God and receive what rightfully rightfully belongs to you so brother Keith said a strong spirit will get you through anything you name it a strong spirit will get you through it that's strength on the inside let me greet a couple of notes to you these are just a compilation of some things that I've written over the years about it a strong spirit will help us overcome physical attacks financial problems relational difficulties job career or ministerial setbacks emotional challenges and everything else the devil throws our way that's what a strong spirit strong spirit will help you overcome every one of those everyone a physical attack you take somebody you take somebody who has developed their spirit to the degree with that they are strong and any kind of flu or sickness tries to tries to attach itself to them that that spirit man will rise up and it'll be a force that forces that thing out of them whatever it is the stronger we are the more there's going to be resistance towards the devil resistance towards what he's trying to do to us here's another one God's Word in us and that's the key in us will build a barrier a forcefield a wall of protection around us so that when the storms hit we stand like a rock unshaken in undone movable now that's the picture turn over to the hundred and twelve some some one twelve that is a picture of what we call the individual with the established heart the established start and that's what it is this really is the hundred and twelve Psalm is a description of an individual who is strong in the Lord and in the power of their might and this is something that you can begin right now this is something you can start right now because several weeks ago I was monitoring myself symptoms were trying to come on me and I had to take my stand and there were several days several there was one day in particular I just left like a whole afternoon and I'm thinking about these things and I'm thinking lord I need to take some time I need to build up my spirit man I need to get stronger in this because that there when there is a constant pressure against you and you're not taking the time to be able to feed on the word that's why I'm glad you're here today I'm so glad you came to church today I'm so glad you're able you're able to watch us today because it's important that you be fed and if there's if there's one thing that a pastor does for his congregation I prepare I prepare a meal I'm working I'm cooking that meal it's simmering on the inside all week then I get to Saturday and I get in the kitchen and I start cooking now you wouldn't want to eat my natural cooking but you my spiritual cooking and I cook up that meal and then I come in and I start serving it out there and what it's doing it's nourishing you in the Lord it's building you up it's encouraging you because I know some of you came in here today and some of you were fighting that weakness and you're thinking that weakness in your body you're thinking to yourself we got all this going on around us what are we gonna do we're gonna develop a strong spirit that's what we're gonna do a strong spirit will fight sickness it will fight attack it will it'll literally fight against thoughts thoughts of failure in the middle of the night to where the stronger you are and I've been I've been saying this over myself I am a strong spirit I'm a spirit being I'm a strong spirit I have a strong soul I have a strong mind my emotions are strong and I live in a strong body and I've just been saying that to myself over and over and over again I have a strong spirit strong spirit have a strong soul my emotions are my mind is strong my focus my focus is strong and I live in a strong body this is a strong body and I'm not just talking about a physically strong body I'm talking about I'm talking about this body is strong it will repel disease and anything anything that tries to attach itself to my body it is not allowed to stay not a lot get out and that's the image that you have to have in the hundred and twelfth some crazy the Lord blessed is the man that fears the Lord that delights greatly in his commandments his seat shall be mighty upon the earth the generation shall be of the upright shall be blessed wealth and riches shall be in his house see this is the individual who has developed themselves in the word verse 4 under the upright there arises light in the darkness he's gracious he's full of compassion and righteous you know something somebody with a strong spirit does not get offended as somebody with a strong spirit does not have a victim mentality oh they're out to get me they're out to get me I like what Milan Lefevre has he's got reverse paranoia everyone's out to bless him [Applause] verse 5 a good man shows favor and he lends he will guide his affairs with discretion now listen to this verse 6 surely he shall not be moved for ever the righteous shall be an everlasting remembrance he shall not be afraid of evil tidings his heart is fixed trusting in the Lord his heart is established he shall not be afraid until he see his desire upon his enemies say I shall not be moved I am not afraid of evil tidings my heart is fixed trusting in the Lord my heart is established I shall not be afraid I have a strong spirit praise break praise break praise break glory to God praise God our spirit can become so rooted grounded established in the word that we are able to repel disease stop care resist sin override doubt dissolve offense and block pressure we can build up our spiritual immune system we have an immune system not only a physical immune system but a spiritual immune system and we can build up our spiritual immune system to such a degree that sickness cannot penetrate it discouragement cannot sway it fear cannot stop it bad news cannot move it and adversity cannot affect it that's what's available to us now let me read something to you and you can write this down I'll give you there are three benefits to developing a strong spirit you can write these down three benefits to developing a strong spirit number one a strong spirit will help us receive from God a strong spirit will help us receive from God a stronger you are on the inside through the word the easier it is to receive what you're believing for and I'm going to give you a profound quote from brother Keith Moore he said you can't catch much with a Snoopy fishing pole I remember growing up on the East Coast when I was a kid I would go fishing with my grandfather and it was really fascinating to me because my grandfather was a he was a fisherman I had an uncle who was a professional fisherman he went into these these championships and competed and I would as a kid I would look at the wall of poles that were up there they were huge they were huge because when they would go out fishing they would go fishing for bass that that would be about as tall as me huge huge fish and I used to stare as a kid looking up at all of those fishing poles and they they were they were hard for me to pick up they were so heavy the reels on some of those were like this big gigantic gigantic the length of them I could not pick that up and try to cast it the line of it was so thick it was so thick compared to my little pole that I had as a child and the whole point of this is the the stronger your spirit is the easier it is to receive what you need stronger your spirit is the easier it is to receive what you need so going back to the analogy of the fishing poles those big fishing poles those would catch some big fish big fish but you can't catch a big fish with a Snoopy pole about that biggest it's about as far as you can go but with that bigger Pole and with that that thicker line and with that huge reel and have you seen that before you've seen people I mean my aunt went fishing in Florida one time brought back a swordfish gigantic sort of fish and they mounted that thing put it up on the wall it was massive but if you could see what they were using and they were they were on a fishing boat and they had it stuck into that that hold her to where you and then they were strapped in now that's some kind of fishing that is much bigger than minnow fishing and that's I'm telling you spiritually that's what we can do the stronger your spirit the bigger the fish you hear me stronger the spirit the bigger you are able to believe God for the things that are necessary in for the things that you are desiring through but you have you just can't jump off and do that you you've got to do what it takes to be able to do that so the stronger your spirit the easier it is to receive what you need so that's the first benefit of developing a strong spirit second one is a strong spirit will help us hold on to what we receive a strong spirit will help us hold on to what we receive there have been many times when people have gone into a service and they've gone through a healing line and they receive their healing and they're all excited and they're thrilled about it and then they go home and a few days later it's back and then they think well I guess it didn't work I guess that didn't really happen that guy was a fraud whatever it wasn't his fault it was their fault and the fault being is what we have to do and I'm going to say therefore our fault what we have to do is look at this differently that as you develop a strong spirit that strong spirit will will give you the ability to hold on to what you have believed for and not let it go not release it when I do training in the gym sometimes sometimes my trainer will have me holding the weights and maybe toward the last few reps of the last few weights or the last set that I do he'll have me do something and then you'll go hold it right there hold it some sitting there just holding that wait hold it five seconds well that's the whole thing spiritually about being strong in the Lord being able to hold on to what God has given to you specifically we're healing is concerned to be able to hold on to that hold on to it it says it says in Hebrews 10:23 let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering when you're in a weakened condition it is so easy to throw away your confession it is so easy to cast down that confession and just give in but listen the stronger you are you won't put up with the devil stuff you know that what you speak out of your mouth is a weapon it is a weapon and it changes things and it changes you and it changes circumstances and what he's saying in Hebrews 10:23 3 let us hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering don't let go don't let go of what belongs to you the stronger our spirit the easier it is to hold on to whatever it is and the devil cannot steal from us when our spiritual grip is strong and that's what it is it's a spiritual grip you you let that's the bulldog faith that we've talked about before where a Bulldog will bite down on that bone and won't let go and we have to do the same thing with the Word of God we bite down on the Word of God and we will not let go we will not give in we will not quit we will not fail we will not we will not let go of what rightfully belongs to us so a strong spirit will help us hold on to what we receive then number three a strong spirit will help us resist the devil in temptation a strong spirit will help us resist the devil in temptation now let me give you a couple of scripture references Ezekiel 16 30 says this how weak is thine heart saith the Lord God seeing thou doest all these things how weak is your heart seeing that you do this or you succumb to that or you do that or your by that and you step into how weak is our spirit the stronger our spirit is we are able to resist temptation and the Lord ministered to me about Luke 4 Jesus spirit must have been strong why in the wilderness he said known to all of The Devil's temptations so Jesus spirit was strong it was strong and he said no to the devil and then Ephesians 6 verses 10 and 11 be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might and the amplified bible says so that you may be able to successfully stand up against all the strategies and the deceits of the devil be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might so that you can successfully stand up against the devil that he cannot intimidate you he cannot bully you and really that's what he does that's what he does and we have to get to a place in our lives I refuse to fear the devil I refuse it I've got Dominion and authority over him and he streets at my sight because I'm strong in the Lord and in the power of his might all right I want you to write this down and this is this is just this is like two weeks of teaching that glory and I did but I'm compacting it and I just felt led to compact it for you to begin to launch you into what you need to do to get strong so here three ways to develop a strong spirit you ready ready okay three ways to develop a strong spirit now I compare it to a physical body in the development of the physical body and it's very simple diet rest and exercise diet rest and exercise so number one is diet feeding on the word strengthens our spirit feeding on the word strengthens our spirit even as you're sitting here right now you're getting strong you're hearing the word preached the Word of God is being delivered and the Word of God is is going down into your spirit if you're receiving it if you're taking it if you're saying yes I believe that pastor I take that I want that I want that but the Word of God is being preached the Word of God is alive and active sharper than any two-edged sword and it's coming through my being it's being spoken over you and that word is creating faith on the inside it's creating faith for you to believe that you can make it it's creating faith on the inside that you don't have to bow down to what the devil's trying to do to you it's creating that on the inside so now we have to consider our diet feeding on the word strengthens our spirit we must feed our spirit faith food in order to be strong and I like what Rick Renner said to me some years ago the Lord said this to him no word no breakfast he has to have the word first and then he eats this bread he has to eat the word first and then he eats his breakfast God's Word contains the proper nutrients for a strong spirit God's word contains in it the proper nutrients everything that it takes to make you strong not living off of a diet of spiritual ice cream not feeding on television feeding on videos feeding on all of that but feeding if you want the ultimate prize then there's some stuff you're going to just have to cut out of your life just get it out move it out strip away everything that holds you back and hold you down how serious are you about this I'm pretty serious about it I'm very serious about it because there's the CEO of Kenneth Copeland ministries the pastor of EMI C and the vice-president Kenneth Copeland Bible College the president sitting right over here there's a lot we're believing for there's a lot we're standing for there's a lot going on around here and if you weren't strong in the Lord it would absolutely run you over but I refuse to get run over because I see it I see it with the eye of faith I see it done with the eye of faith every time just about Terry Naik I'm driving on the property we we are spiritually building buildings we're building new studios Jeanne Goodman we're building facilities you know there was a there was a thought that came I was thinking about Billy Burke coming the week after next and I don't know where her I may have heard this on TV or something but but I just heard the phrase miracle City miracle City and went hey I like that miracle city so I think there needs to be a building miracle city where all we do in there is just lay hands on the sick and minister to people but you see to be amen to be able to see that and do that we just have to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might listen to this I'll read you a couple of scriptures Matthew 4:4 write this down from the amplified translation man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God we are sustained by the Word of God sustained by the word in first Timothy 4:6 the good news Bible feed yourself spiritually on the words of faith and of the true teaching which you have followed feed yourself spiritually that's why we read our scriptures every morning that's right we watch the victory Channel feeding our faith keeping the Word of God we listen to the word every night when we go to bed keep that word going what are we doing we feed ourselves spiritually on the words of faith and of the true teaching which we have followed Psalm 1:19 I'm almost done here Terry so as I finished up you'll come up and and wrap it up for me because I know you have something you need to say okay psalm 119 28 in the amplified translation raised me up and strengthened me according to the promises of your word the promises of the word of God will raise you up and strengthen you they'll strengthen you in Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing and you could really say faith comes by feeding and feeding and feeding and feeding feeding on the Word of God so diet gotta feed on the word rest resting in the Lord strengthens our spirit in Isaiah 40 29 he gives power to the weak and to those who have no might he increases strength even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but those who wait upon the Lord you could say there are those who rest in the Lord those who rest in the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and they shall not think diet rest and exercise exercise exercising our faith in God's Word strengthens our spirit James 1:22 in the NIV translation do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves do what it says don't be here's only but be a doer of the word of God if you want to develop a stronger more robust faith in a particular area you must feed on the word and then exercise your faith in that word like brother Keith come on up here too like brother brother Keith said when he was working at Kenneth Hagin ministries and he was tasked with watching all of brother Hagins healing videos he'd watched those videos and just watch him and watch him and watch him and all of a sudden he found himself in a place where his faith developed and he was healed he was well he thought now if that will happen with healing I'll bet that'll happen with prosperity so he just started devouring in devouring and listening to and listening to and you you have you have muscles to be developed you can develop your forgiveness muscle you can develop your forgiveness muscle to where you can come to a place where you don't hold on to anything against anybody so you you are you are strengthened in that we exercise our spirit by what meditating on the word thinking on the Word of God speaking the Word of God and acting on the Word of God the very thing that God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 for him to be successful in what he was doing and I'll just throw this in here come stand with me I'll just throw this in here 1st Corinthians 14 for one of the greatest spiritual exercises is praying in tongues oh I do that a lot I do that a lot it says in verse 14 of 1st Corinthians 14 should be 14 for he who speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself strengthens himself he that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself builds himself up and charges himself up like a battery like a battery Jude 20 but you beloved building yourselves up on your most holy faith praying in the Holy Spirit so before we read our declaration of faith what have you got pastor Terry tell us come on up here for a moment yeah yeah that's your name right okay did you have to check is it okay so there are no just in over here from it just stand and watch so it's wherever I can see us pastor okay so when you're really really weak you know if it's like somebody that's really sick and they're so weak and you try to give them something would you give me that Bible please just give it to me I'm too weak to lift my hands to take it but I get a little something to eat just a little something to eat try to give it to me again get a little more to eat [Applause] but I keep eating breathing getting rest and I get a little more to eat now it's good okay then the devil comes and Mark chapter four it says he comes to steal the word oh you and use him no not yet I'm sorry you get to be dual dual purpose I didn't have the strength to hold on to what he gave me sometimes it takes it away before it even has time to show up you got things many times and you didn't even know you had it because he took it away from you before you even realize it so what am I gonna do I call I call a friend and I call my faithful buddy it could be a faith buddy in your house could be your to be your best best girlfriend best boyfriend could could be but could be your spouse could be an elder of the church and you call them in to come and help you now they're gonna help me hold on to what belongs to me and take it and the devil is gonna come and try to take it from me but my faith buddy is not gonna let him take it from me [Applause] but the there comes a time when it's not just about faith buddy and maybe faith but it's not available but there comes a time when you grow and you grow and depend and you know the thing about spiritual food jesus said it's not only what goes in but it's what comes out not only what goes in but it's what comes out faith comes by hearing but faith is exercised and released by what we say a lot of people here and here and here and here glory to God for lots and lots of hearing but if you never exercise what you've heard and exercise the faith that comes by what you've heard then you'll never be strengthened in it either you you hear and you'll be deceived and you blame the pastor or you blame brother Copeland I don't know maybe blame God this stuff doesn't work no you didn't work it what happens to the person that eats and never does what happens to the person that eats and never moves never exercises never works it never exercises spiritually praise is spiritual exercise speak in the word is spiritual exercise praying in other tongues is spiritual exercise fellowshipping around the Word of God is spiritual exercise exercise exercise and the Bible says then that we labor to enter in the rest resting is so important but in spiritual things in particular if you haven't labored first by what you take in and by what you put out your mouth and the actions that you take you can't develop to the place of rest resting in the law is often one of the greatest challenges we have resting in the Lord it is that place of holding on to what the devil is trying to take from you holding on to it which is what your peace peace that passes understanding and not letting him have it did you see how I did that pastor George so I think he was showing me just the little favors what I'm thinking but do you see what I mean that resting in the Lord we labor we take us the strong stand and as we labor for that place of resting trusting rolling the cares over on him cares come give it to the Lord I promise you they'll try that with sometimes before you can get the whole the whole prayer out of your mouth it comes again to give you the chokehold to put the anvil of pressure on your chest bring fear in front of your pay face panic in your heart there'll be people there will be circumstances there'll be evidence it's contrary to what the word says but the strong spirit of a man will sustain you labor no entering the rest no I refuse fear no I refuse anxiety no I refuse to let go of the peace that Jesus promised to me and not letting circumstances or people or the world or the system or anything else robbed it from you and it it requires that stand but the wonderful thing is that all those things start working together for the good of those that are working it by loving God and doing what we're called to do not being a quitter not giving up but pressing in to him and never forget that though we're feeding on the Word of God and we're praised in the Lord and we're speaking for none of that is apart from the grace of God it's none of it is apart from the Spirit of God none of it is apart from Jesus our Savior our master and none of it is apart from our Father who loves us is for us and with us and is our support and our strengthener and our and bye hallelujah praise God praise God amen amen all right stand up with me please we're going to make this declaration of faith' where our strength is concerned I want you to believe God I want you to use your faith I want to I want you to exercise your faith as we say these words are you ready are you ready yes say this I am strong I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his mind the name of the Lord is a strong tower and I run into it let the weak say I am strong I am strong in faith giving glory to God for by you Lord I have run through the truth by my God have I leaped over a wall it is God that Gerdes me with strength and makes my way perfect I am strong in the Lord and in the power is mine now say this I am a strong spirit have a strong soul I live in a strong body in Jesus name now let's praise him and glorify Him thank you [Music] thank you the altar ministers come on up to the front if you would please and I want you to leave this place stronger than when you walked in yeah and now you have the ammunition the training that you need to go begin to do this do this yourself these are faith buddies right here every one of them are strong in the Lord have the Word of God not only in their hands and in their hearts but they know how to put it in their mouths on your behalf so if you're in a situation and it seems to be bigger than you are and come hook up with a faith buddy right down here come down here tell them what's going on and let them help feed the Word of God into your heart speak the Word of God together Jesus Jesus so empowered us with se any two or more of you that gather in my name there the I am is in the midst hallelujah there's a lot of I am manifestation that happens at this altar every week hallelujah two people came to the Lord this morning just during the faith foundations class two people they came but that that's that's the first step into a strong spirit there is nothing you can do for a spirit that's not been born again because it's full of death it's never hooked up with a life of God but when you make Jesus the Lord of your life he strikes your spirit but the power and the life of God eliminates that old man causes a new man to be born again and you are alive under God hallelujah the process for strengthening and growing in him Bible says until you come to that place that you are in the same level of maturity and strength that he is wow what a promise of God let's all put our hands over our heart right now and let's all save this together Heavenly Father Heavenly Father we thank you for your love thank you and right now right now I make Jesus the Lord of my life I make Jesus the Lord of my life Jesus come into my heart Jesus come into my heart take my life take my life and do something with it do something I receive the infilling I receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit baptism with the Holy Spirit the baptism with the holy spirit and speaking in other tongues and speaking in other time thank you Lord for that gift thank you Lord for that gift in my life in my life in Jesus name Amen okay break this is the very first day anyway make your way
