what is that everybody this is Ronnie from canva and in this video I'm going to show you how to create a very consistent Instagram feed with canva so if you're ready let's go alright guys so this is the canva homepage we are going to start from here so remember we are going to create Instagram post so we are going to search for exactly that in the search bar Instagram post so if I just type in Instagram canva will propose and suggest like Instagram post the first one that I see here 1080 by 1080 this is exactly what I need so the next thing you are going to be presented with a bunch of templates and we are not going to use a template but I'm going to use inspiration maybe taking taken from a template so I really like this kind of post or layout where we have a couple of photos with different photos that have a relevant style in them maybe this could be also an interesting layout might be inspired by and this one is well but I'm going to start with a blank document alright so canva has opened a an Instagram document into slightly too big for me so I'm going to be reducing this to 75 and we are going to start by creating a very simple color palette made out of two colors so I have in mind kind of a deep intense blue and a Salman color so I'm going to start with the salmon and see what comes up so I'm going to click on the background here click on the color box and I'm going to simply type in Salman Salman color let's see what comes up so we have this very pale and we have this one kind of like this one so let's pick this one for now and now the blue alright so I'm going to delete this kind of like this so I would like ideally something in between this color right here the violet and this one which is called cobalt blue so I'm going to type in blue and see yeah this is nice to kind of an electric blue with this this is good but a little bit too like not dark enough maybe this yeah this will be better so I have these two colors let me zoom out to see if they go well together yet they are pretty good and then I have this idea in the back of my head of using some golden elements in this design okay so this is the vision I have up front to start with and the purpose of this exercise will be to to showcase some of my photos on my Instagram feed but I want the feet to be super consistent so we are going to create that style a visual style slide after slide and we are going to create for actually for post for Instagram alternating between the two colors from my palette ok so we have the Salman the blue Salman and blue okay the idea of the post let's imagine I am running Hermosa a travel photographer and I like to show my photos from my different travels on my Instagram feed so I recently traveled to California which I wish I wish I did and I was inspired by the culture by the food by the weather the beaches the palm trees the vehicles over there so all of this influenced my photography work and I want to showcase that on my Instagram okay so I'm going to use a lot of a lot of grids from the grid library here so I'm in the elements and grids so I will be placing all my photos in grids and I will be working with this the next thing I want to tell you is that I already have my photos of course I'm a travel photographer and you whatever you do on your Instagram you have your photos so me I have selected here a couple of photos in canva so if I click on the photo tab right here if I go to my recently used and see all you see a bunch of photos here from California okay so to be completely honest I didn't take these photos as you might have guessed I found them in the canva library for the purpose of this exercise but for you you will have your photo so by all means use these okay so we have our photos we have our color palette now I just I I remember I mentioned I wanted to add some golden elements to this design so I went ahead in my elements tab and search for gold okay and I see a bunch of different golden thingies here like different kind of ornaments elements and so I did the work of going through all this I went pretty deep down scrolling down quite a bit to find some cool stuff like this one for example and I used them okay so if you use them if you import them into for example another page on your document then it they will show in your recently used elements okay so that's what I did I selected a couple of them that I might be using in my designs and then now they show here on my recently used items of elements okay if I come if I click here to see all you will see a bunch of different golden elements so this is the the foundational work that I did before starting designing and now that we have seen all of this this prep work I would say let's go and design these for Instagram post okay so for the first one I'm going to be using a circle that I'm going to be positioning following these purple grids you see if I go all the way to the almost the edge canva is going to show me a safe zone inside of that document so I'm just going to align this circle on that safe zone okay and then I'm gonna make it white and give it some transparency 20 so like this it gives me kind of a variant of my Salman color but slightly lighter okay so that's the first thing second I want to add some photo placeholders or grids it's called grids in canva so let's take two of these square ones I'm gonna make one like this make sure my circle is in the back so I will hit the position button and backwards okay like this and I'm going to lock this in the back and don't want this to interfere in my design okay so I have the first one here I want to align this correctly I want the same distance here and here okay so for that I'm gonna call another little trick right here is to create kind of a marker with this rig with this square let's use the golden color why not and okay so I want this to be and I'm going to duplicate this one holding my option or alt button on a PC alright so now I'm sure there is the same distance here and here and I can safely copy this so holding my alt there are different ways actually of duplicating elements in canva this is just one of them and I'm going to select both of these holding my shift I can select both elements and I'm going to duplicate them okay like this now I have my markers I can safely position this here and I'm confident that there is the same distance and that all of this is kind of well aligned okay perfect just want this one to be on top of the other so I'm gonna bring it forward okay so I have the base I'm going to start positioning my photos in there so I'm going back to my photos and the first one was the pantry's my Californian pantry's right here okay by double clicking on it once it's inserted in the grid I can readjust the positioning and the second one is my scaled border here okay so again double clicking on it you can move and reposition the photo so that's what I did right here okay or so I can get rid of these markers okay and you know what I'm not gonna throw them away I'm just going to move them to my next page because I might need them in the future so good we have a base here to work with let me add a rectangle so I'm going to hit the are key on my keyboard that creates a shape which is a square shape and then I can rework this to make an actual rectangle okay about this size I'm gonna make this my dark blue and I'm going to create a text box by hitting the T key or I don't want to hit the T key I can go to text the text it's just the same thing the T key is a shortcut basically and my text here would say live in California okay life in California I'm going to change the font for a phone that I like called oval okay and I'm going to tweak this slightly I'm going to make this fifty three or so and reduce the spacing between the letters two to one it sounds about right bring that here and of course I'm going to change this for my brand color okay this looks good going to reduce the size of these text boxes next yes I was talking about these golden elements to kind of lively up my design so I'm gonna go back to them my elements tab and I'm going to click here on C or so the first one I'm going to import is this one just be careful one thing I want to show you if you drag another element into a grid see what's going to happen so in order to prevent that you have to hold your command button see if I don't hold my command my element gets into the grid or I think if you lock it then it won't happen see it won't happen if it's locked here it's not locked so it will happen so me I'm just going to my element and start working on these little touches okay like this one maybe slightly smaller to add my golden touches all right this looks good I'm going to add another one here this one make this smaller I'm gonna hold my command key down this time so make sure it doesn't get him inside of my grits okay so this is what I want maybe I can group this and push it up a little bit okay so this is my first layout only one thing I want to add my photographers signature here okay so for this I'm going to create a text box by hitting the T key going to reduce this size I want it to be about here okay and I'm going to simply write my name Ronny hermosa of course you write your own name and I'm going to choose another font called brusher it's a hand-drawn font so brusher yes 53 I can't stay with 53 that's fine and I'm going to change the color to my blue all right position that kind of here in the corner and I will be adding a little camera icon so I already selected the camera icon as well I did all my homework if you wish before starting and I recommend you do like before you start design you do your research you do your yeah you create kind of your your elements your assets for specific project and if you are a photographer or if you are like I would say a regular Instagrammer you would have all these assets all these elements and I'm going to give this little camera the same transparency as my circle okay so we have Ronnie Hermosa photography this looks pretty good maybe I can take all of this and bring it a little bit outside of this circle or I can reduce the circle it's really up to me but if I want to reduce the size of this circle then I need to unlock it okay now we'll reposition this to the center and the middle okay this looks good I have my first slide and now that I have this solid base I can work a bit faster because I have some elements that I can simply take and reproduce okay I have my markers here I have a photo here that I can also duplicate so just going to click on the photo ctrl C click on my second page ctrl V and now I have my placeholder I can just start creating another layout as I wish I'm gonna get rid of this photo so this one is about this size and holding my option key creating another one which is going to be about this size going to move my markers again and I'm going to use the markers here so you see I did well not to throw them away or delete them but this okay and same still gonna keep these puppies here for now and I have my two placeholders okay another thing I can do is to use my text here okay so I'm going to hold my option key and copy this text so it's about here I'm gonna make it longer and justified to the left and my next text here will say what is it like to live in Golden State okay so you see the analogy with the gold elements so yes that's because we call California the Golden State some people do I don't I barely go to California I've been once anyways let's add some more pictures in these grids alright so back to my photos my recently used photos and I want to add a photo of the iconic Hollywood okay so the hill super emblematic of California Los Angeles so I'm going to be using this and I'm going to be using another photo kind of a life style photo of this lady right here with her car and the palm trees perfect so now we have these two photos I'm going to bring my logo here okay my signature my photographers signature now you know what I'm going to reduce the size between these two kind of like this yes good this looks good I'm going to group these two so I can easily copy duplicate it I'll bring it here and these two I'll push to the next slide next page and I can simply change the color from my blue to my Salman right here okay so what is it like to live in the Golden State and then all I need is my golden ornaments so I'm going to be using this one here and I could do something like this it's pretty cool oops you see but I'm what I was saying about getting into the frame if I don't hold my command key my Alt key on a PC so super important that you do let's do it like this perfect so I have my second page let's continue this project and move on to the third page okay so these are going to be here patiently waiting for me to use them at some point I'm going to copy my circle here so ctrl C click here in control V okay I have the same exact circle at the same exact position I love that that canva will paste an element at the exact same position as it where I took it from I really love this feature okay I'm going to reuse some of these square grids as well so paste it here and this is where these guys come in handy they will help me position this photo correctly alright these markers are a live lifesaver okay now I have my photo here I'm gonna add the next photo inside of it this emblematic Lifeguard little house like beach house perfect lifeguard tower I think they are cold and I think that's the keyword also you used to find it lifeguard tower alright next is to be my signature okay I'm gonna take the one from the first page so I don't need to change the colors and you see that's really the key to creating a consistent Instagram feed is to keep using some some of the same elements if you use the same elements the same theme the same colors then you feel will consistently that's really the key we are trying to do here okay so I'm going to copy this text so use the same fonts use the same type of elements I would say okay so I want this one to be bigger maybe across the whole text and this one will say the California lifestyle lifestyle okay I'm gonna make this bigger first to meet use this yes about this size this looks good Californian lifestyle in this text comes here alright and I'm going to add some of my golden elements to keep my consistent look going back here maybe I can add this one oops what did I do I'm just gonna hit the back key yeah looks good here okay and I can another one is well you can add this one so ctrl-c ctrl-v maybe i can put it here and I can flip this to kind of a different twist to it it's really up to you like you play around with your elements and you you see what's up I don't really like this one here maybe I can make it bigger yeah something like this is nice okay yeah I'm happy with this moving on to last of my slides and for this one I'm going to try something different I'm gonna use so these ones come let's put them here for now I'm gonna use three of the same grids okay I can start with this so I will just copy one holding my option key if you forgot and I'm going to make them about the size of the SafeZone like this but this needs to be less wide this s big and I want to have three of these okay so I'm holding my option on my Alt key and I'm duplicating them let's see if that's not too big it is slightly too big or too wide actually so I'm going to slightly reduce their size and I'm going to delete them because I want them to be exactly all the same so I'm going to start copying the same one again okay this is about good so I'm going to show you a trick here you select all of them and then you'll go to your position button and you would space evenly vertically so you're sure that this spacing here is the same but actually I need a little bit more space so I'm going to reduce all of them because I need to be writing the sentence in between each of them so let me redo the same thing position spaced evenly vertically I think I have enough space here to write my sentence barely so I'm going to continue reducing their size until I am satisfied with the space that I have in between them okay so now making sure they are first aligned and then again select him all of them spaced evenly vertically okay this looks about right I have enough space I believe making sure this is centered okay perfect I'm going to lock this or before locking would rather change the photos first so first thing I want to do is to place my photos inside the grid so the palm trees the traditional palm tree is the food of course the burgers french fries all healthy stuff and the culture the beach culture yep so surfing all of this I managed to capture as an Instagram photographer so now we have everything I can get rid of this one actually we have our third node force I'll post all I need to do is to add the glitter so I'm going to copy this one and bring it here I'm going to make it slightly smaller like this okay looks good maybe I flip it I'm going to continue it here so it gives this diagonal kind of dynamic to this design I'm going to be adding a couple of more here I'm gonna go a bit more wild on this last page whoops this is not what I wanted to do yeah something like this holding my command button so this doesn't get into any of the frames I want this one to be positioned forward on top of my Golden Circle here okay so this looks nice I want to bring it about here and one more thing I want to add here these little stars okay so always holding my command key so they don't get stuck in my grid especially when I'm over the grid and then copying this big star making it smaller so I have a small star and some random rotation so it doesn't look exactly the same alright this looks good all I need to do now is to add my three kind of little sentences so I'm gonna add a text box I'm going to change this to my other font in the oval font and make this smaller 20 okay this looks about the right size but not the right color I want this to be written in white okay and I don't like the cursive here so I'm gonna try all caps and I'm going to try to space the letters very easy like let's say yeah 190 or even 200 on them very spread apart okay that's about right making sure yeah the center so I'm going to copy this and make sure they are aligned okay this looks good I have slightly less space here so I could go ahead and reuse everything so by simply selecting it all like this yeah so this way I give more space to my last sentence right here okay now what I need to do is to add my real sentences so the weather the food and the culture perfect and that's it guys I think we made it to the end we have a very consistent fourth post so let me assure you all post these are for for post and as you can see I don't have enough space on the last one to add my photographer signature that's alright I don't need to overdo it and have my signature on every single post but people will understand by looking at the feed that I am a photographer this is a trip to California and everything is consistent one last thing you could do if you really want is to add some filters to your to your photos if you want a filter or you can adjust their brightness contrast so you can basically adjust everything you want to make them pop a little bit more so I like to do this like to add a little bit of saturation I'm going to show you a little trick right here to have a consistent look across all your photos so what you can do once you have your first adjustments you can either copy this number right here and paste it on like this photo for example if I click this photo and just I just paste it here or I can use this nice little button right here that says copy style I'm going to copy the slide the style to my other photo so that's probably the quickest way of doing it you can simply copy the attribute of these photos from one photo to another with this little button right here so pretty useful now you have a very consistent Instagram feed so all I need to do is to download these in the PNG format for example so I'm going to do just that and we are going to have a closer look at how they look alright so these my four Instagram post you see they look very consistent one with another so this will help me really create this yeah this visual this strong visual identity on Instagram all right so this was the tutorial guys I hope you enjoyed it I hope you learned a thing or two with me of course I will ask you to create your own feed your own style your own little twist and you don't have to use the goal you can use something else you can use silver you can use colored you can really go crazy I'm seeing a lot of people trying to reproduce like exactly the exact same design is the one I'm showing in the tutorials but I really believe the exercise is worth doing of trying to create your own style so I encourage you to do so and that's it for this week if you liked this tutorial show us some love in the comments show us your designs if you are watching this on youtube don't forget you can subscribe so that you never miss the other tutorial that we will publish and that's it for this week I will see you in the next video
