[Music] hi everyone it's nisha so today we're going to have another lesson on how to change your eye shape with eyeshadow first disclaimer i'm not any makeup artist in any shape or form i'm just passionate about eye shadow i have hooded down turn ice so i sort of know how to change the shape of my eye with eyeshadow so that's first thing i'm not a makeup artist second thing i'm just warning you this video is going to be probably very long because you know me i like to talk and i like to explain things really well so if you not interested in long videos please just click off instead of complaining in the comments okay so um first of all i filmed this morning with my camera that i can really zoom in the shape of my eyes really close up because i often whenever i do this um videos i get accused of cheating because people are saying that i think this eye is more hooded than this one and i will explain why people might think that to me they both look the same they present the same challenge to me so have a look at my eyes first okay so as you can see um i feel like both of my eyes are exactly the same so people say that this one is more hooded but to me they look exactly the same it might be that i can lift this eyebrow higher so when i talk and i can also leave that brow independently of this one but i can't do it other way around so sometimes when i talk i might have this eyebrow high i like this so it looks like this eye is not as hooded as this one i don't know to me they are both hooded and very annoying so as you can see i've got very big area between the lash line and my eyebrow sometimes people's eyebrows are much lower so they have less space to work with but you can still do it and also my eyes are downtown you know the sort of sad sad spanish eyes and um i was born with this shape and born with hooded shape eyes obviously they've gone all more wrinkly and less firm as as the years go by but um yeah so when i drop my eyebrows when i'm normal like this you can see that my hood sits right on my lashes so my mobile lid and this is your mobile lid it's the lid the the moves where your eye is eyeball is um you can't see it unless i go like this when i drop my eyes down you can't see my mobile lid at all it's just this overhanging hood and also you can see how it's not very elastic the skin anymore so this is so annoying trying to work in this corner with all this problem you know with all this loose skin with this hanging down it's just a nightmare but it can be done so today i wanted to use um some sort of neutral palette you know especially if you're a beginner in applying makeup you don't want something crazy some i use the too faced bone this way the natural nudes and um as you can see these are really lovely um neutral shades and none of them are really that dark apart from this one so this is very nice palette for every day and then um i use the jaclyn hill from morphe um as you can see it's got a lot of neutral colors here as well so two things to remember one if you want to change shape of your eye you have to go against the shape of your eye with the eyeshadow and two you have to know the rule of light and shade so light especially shimmery shadows will emphasize things bring things forward make things bigger dark eye shadows will make things smaller push them back and hide things it's a bit if you are a painter that's probably what you work of the light and shadow so as you can see because we don't have very big mobile lid unless i talk like this you know i talk a lot like this and maybe that's why sometimes people say i don't have hooded eyes because i can really lift my eyebrows so high that's why i've got all these wrinkles on my forehead and whenever i talk i am very animated and i never well i probably if i'm not talking i am just like this you know when i drop my eyebrows to the normal place where they should be you can see the shape of my eye so saying that because we can't see them about it that's where we would put bright light colors um a lot of people say that when you're mature you should only use matte eyeshadows i don't agree with that there is no age of makeup or clothes you do what what makes you happy the only thing is if um your skin on your eyes very textured and very wrinkled if you use very shiny eyeshadow that might just emphasize those so in that case you might want to just go for all matte so if we want to make the mobile lid more visible that's why we need to use the light bright color now this bed we want to hide we don't want to see this hood hanging over and really showing so that's where we will use the darkest color because that will push it away and hide it it's all an optical illusion obviously also in my case because my eyes are downtown i have to make them a bit lifted with the eyeshadow and in that case you know when people talk about outer v which is this outer v that you work on uh well outer v for me would be absolutely no no because on my eye would look straight that way or it would turn even more downwards so that's when i invented the word reverse seven or seven so our outer v is more like a seven so it goes quite sharply up and then towards your crease sorry i have to keep looking in my mirror so i i know what i'm showing you so and i have so many videos broken down about chris about the seven so i will leave you here the whole playlist for hooded eyes and this is like everything together really now you can start doing your makeup few different ways you can start with the crease and i think in for us hodis this is probably the best way because then you know where to connect your outer seven so starting with the crease is very it's the easiest way probably i do my makeup different way every time i'm so used to my eyes i know exactly what i'm doing so depends what look i'm going for i might start with my outer corner um or i might start with the crease it depends but i think if you are not used to it starting with a crease is probably a better option okay let's actually talk about it while i'm doing it it will become more clear so because people are saying that i always start with this eye which apparently is less hold it sorry i'm trying not to move my eyebrows too much so you can see it um the only reason i always start with this eye i always have my mirror here and it's just easy because i'm right-handed with my left um i have to go across my body but because people say that i should start with their major dude i i will do it on this side this time well i will start with this eye i am going to take rifa 14 and i will go into nude i don't know if that one will show up much we will see but you want something in your crease that if you're doing a neutral look brown look uh something that is just two shades darker than then [Music] then your eyelid if you do it with purple you do it with the pale purple you know it doesn't matter about the color okay so we're going to start with the crease and you always think well how high do i go so the crease is here just under your orbital bone and a lot of people which i'm so jealous when i see them applying eyeshadow have this defined crease that's where they top lid folds over and then this beautiful small huge mobile lid well i don't have that my crease if we're looking at where it falls over is down here i don't want to do it so i do it on this side this side will be like the wrong guy so if i did my crease where my crease actually is you don't see it okay because my hood is up here this is not covered and you can't see the eyeshadow the easiest way to find how high you should go with your eyeshadow and i think i've done a video about it can you see this crease here this shadow that goes from your nose everybody should have that it doesn't matter where your eyebrow is everybody should have this what do you call it it's like a crease this shadowy bit so if you use this as a guide you go from here very lightly just so you know where to go because we want the darkest bed on on the outer side of your eye and i'm having my brows down because i want to see where the eyeshadow is going um i might lift them when i'm working here but when i'm working up here you need to have your eyebrows down okay so about here can you see that shade now i'm creating a crease now because my eyes are also down 10 i don't want to go too low with it because if i do i will make them look even more down downturned so go to about here for now such of where your eye eyebrow arches and look at yourself and see is that looking round enough or is it going down because you don't want this to go down too much again you will make your eyebrow draw and your eye look more droopy so i sort of go a bit higher here because if i just gone down here i would really emphasize that maybe i should show you on this eye although i wanted to show you something different about let me just show you something different on this eye you know when we talked about light and shade so like i said you should um make your mobile lid lighter but we will make it darker and then let's apply nice light shadow on the top here so i'm applying nice shimmery light eyeshadow in my crease and then dark eye shadow so i'm doing it upside down i'm doing what i told you not to do okay so so hopefully you can see that i've just brought this fold it's really showing my hood you can't see my mobile lid so let's carry on now with this eye just so you can see the difference so once i've got this line don't go any higher just go almost under it to deepen it because then this is rifa 15. you will blend that out above this line that you've made so i'm almost going under my eyebrow and i have to because otherwise if i do my eyeshadow any lower than this you won't see it okay now this can be tricky this seven you know what angle to go under so i think the easiest way to do it is to do your lower lash line and extend it that will give you sort of a template i'm going to take rifa03 brush going the same eyeshadow and i will put it on my lower lash line drop your eyebrows down and start off very lightly draw the shape it is very difficult with my eyes dropped in because you can see all this loose skin here that is folding 500 times um but once you've got the template you can lift your eyebrows so it's more smoother so you can do it if you can lift your eyebrows like this just lift it with your finger so about here so now you know how far down to go with this eyeshadow that you will be working on the outer corner now if i didn't do what i did and i just carry on with this here you know follow my eye shape i mean you can do it if you want sort of cut eye look that's what i mean you can change the look of your eye with the eyeshadow can you see i can hardly see this eyeshadow and because i followed my eye shape it sort of brings it even more down okay so we have this template and i did it with this lighter shadow now we are going to start shading the hood we want to get rid of the hood so for that you use the darkest eyeshadow whatever eyeshadows you've chosen for this bit you use the darkest eyeshadow i have three brushes that i love for this because you need something very small there because of all the folds not much room you want to be a bit more precise and then you can blend it and these are the holo brushes and my very favorite is the p66 but i also like pro 81 and ds10 they are very similar but i think p66 is my favorite so i'm going to take the darkest eyeshadow and i'm going to start just patting it on my mobile lid in this sort of seven shape not going past that line that i've just made and i'm only going with this for now to where i can feel this bone okay but look when i drop my eye you can hardly see this eyeshadow we will have to bring it higher up towards that template but you don't want to go too dark there if you know what i mean and then with whatever you have left it's like painting by colors just very gently barely touching it go to connect this template and then the rifa 15 blend out the edges and when you're blending it out here just keep dragging it a bit towards the inner corner not all the way down but sort of three quarters now you can see the eyeshadow and i basically shaded the worst bit of my eye the one that is drooping that is down 10 that's got the biggest bag on this side now you can add this darker color just on an outer lower lash line and then blend it out with that first with that first crease color so hopefully you can see the difference let me drop my eyebrows so my eyes are still holded but i'm sure you can see that this one this hood shows much more than this one and you can deepen out this dark eyeshadow to your desire depends how dark you want it and it doesn't have to be that dark if you were going for this very natural look here this would be a darker shadow so that's what you would use but i always feel you need something slightly darker than this to really hide the hood but if you use it in combination with all the light ones it should still give you the sign the same effect so really you could do this look with four brushes you need something you know quite pointy and thin to be quite precise in your crease when you first draw in that template you need something to blend it out which is more fluffy and not very dense um you need a pencil brush and then you will need some sort of shading brush i want to apply eyeshadow on your mobile lid if you sometimes find yourself applying this shadow up here it comes out a bit too dark because it will happen you can fix it take another fluffy brush put it in some sort of light matte eyeshadow like a skin tone color and just shade just the edge of the dark eyeshadow just to soften it so i hope you can see the difference here i've got this dark eyeshadow on my mobile lid but if when i drop my eyes you can't see it whereas with this one you can see it now let's take care of our mobile lid so now on here you can put something very bright like this color i mean the color this eyeshadow is actually not very bright it doesn't really show much or you can put some sort of sparkly lighter eyeshadow i might use something from jacqueline hill because these sparkly eyeshadows here are gorgeous i probably will use this top one here which is sort of pinky pearly color and i will use the rifa 02 these eyeshadows are usually best applied with your finger but you can give it a go first with a brush always wet brush and if you're using a brush you need to use sort of press and drag motions with those type of eyeshadows and you go right into your inner corner because if you do it very bright here that will open up your eye and sort of show you your mobile lid and you go with it right under your bone under this bone and suddenly i have a lid even though this bit is part of my little hood but with the contrast it looks suddenly like my eye has opened up whereas if i show you although i sometimes use looks like this please don't think that this is wrong you do what you like but we're talking about changing the shape of your eye so if i put the dark one on my lid my lid sort of disappears right and we don't see any of that dark shadow really anywhere you can also do it in your inner corner and then take another little brush and bring it just down here and this is like a basic look that's what i do most of the time obviously i play around but i find this look the most effective now eyeliner unfortunately as for this eyeliner is not exactly our friend especially you know um cut eyeliner that type of thing because we've got such tiny space here that when we open our eyes the eyeliner disappear how i use eyeliner and i usually just use kohl eyeliner because it's so hard with a liquid eyeliner to do a sharp line here because of all the folds i use any kohl eyeliner and i only really use it sort of from half of my eye or even less than that towards the end now when you're using the eyeliner you just go very close to your eyelash line and about here not for your eyelashes end because that's when the eye is drooping about here you go slightly up because i'll show you in a minute what would happen and you sort of wing it like this and for it to look a bit softer just blend it out with a brush or you know i've got this is the maybelline master smoky it's got a spongy blender on the other side and i'm just blending it out following the eyeshadow so i don't go below and that sort of will give you lifted look as well if i did on this eye if i follow my my lash line to where my lashes end which they end here can you see that just drags my hair and my eye down so this is very important i do the same with false eyelashes oh yes we should talk about false eyelashes next because mascara is going to be your friend as well and again you want this part of your eye to look the darkest and when it comes to false eyelashes if you wear them try to get just like three-quarter lashes not ones that go right away from here you can always trim trim four length lashes my favorite uh isla flair laughs from fled the force i've been looking for them everywhere they are sold out everywhere i hope she didn't discontinue them because these are my favorite lashes they probably come from the half of my eye and they are flared out on the end and when i put my eyelashes on i think i have a video on it so if you look at that playlist with all the hooded eyes tips and tricks you will find it when i attach it here when i get to the outer portion of my eye i put it a bit higher i lift the lash and stick it a bit above my lash line so again that will lift your eye okay let's put mascara on because you know you can play and add different colors but you can see how i do different looks i also have a playlist called eyeshadow looks so when i remember every eyeshadow look that i do i try to put it in that playlist this is the nars climax and i always start on the outer portion of my eye because that's where i want the mouth mascara yeah so the reason you don't want this really full thick full length lashes is because we have hooded eyes when you put that thick lash on it's going to cover up all this light work that you did to bring that mobile lid forward to show it you will just cover it up so all you done was for nothing basically this mascara is so wet i like it but you have to really wipe off the excess okay another trick once you've put mascara on and you drop your eyebrows down again sometimes you might see i'm not really seeing this eyeshadow that much i might have to go a bit higher so just take the brush that you were blending out with don't add any more eyeshadow and while your eyebrows are down just shade here a bit more okay so basically that's how you can change the shape of your eye you've seen me doing cat eye as well that was totally different look so just using that shade and light technique if you think about it while you're doing your eye what you want to hide put dark color on it what you want to show put light shimmery color it doesn't have to be shimmery but if it's matte it has to be quite bright like my favorite one for that is mac um blanc something blank what is it but that's my favorite eyeshadow to brighten up my eyelid okay my lovelies i really hope that you found this helpful um nothing gives me more pleasure than when i get comments or email you telling me how much my tutorials for hooded eyes helped you that is like the best reward for me for what i do but that's all for today thank you so much for watching and stay fabulous bye
