[Music] hey there it's amelia and in today's video i'm going to show you how to quickly and easily burn files on a cd using windows 10 and you don't need any extra apps or software so let's take a look okay so the first thing you're going to want to do is take your cd and go ahead and open up your cd-rom drive insert it in the drive and then momentarily you should see a pop-up let's just give that a moment okay so you should momentarily see this burn a disk pop-up box you may see a little indicator on the bottom right which you can also double click on to bring you here for some reason if you don't see this dialog box or the pop-up alert let's cancel this for a second i want to show you another way to get here you can from file explorer which you can easily get to by either clicking on your file explorer icon here on your taskbar or right click on your windows key on the bottom left here for some reason if you don't have that just press your windows key on your keyboard anyway right click on windows key and select file explorer and from file explorer make sure this pc is selected and look for your dvd or cdr drive and double click okay and then from the burn a disk dialog box first thing you want to do is enter in a disk title for your cd and then you have two choices the leica usb flash drive will let you save edit and even delete files on the cd anytime this is the option we want the other option with a cd dvd player will not let you edit or remove the file so just make sure this first option is selected click next and it will proceed with formatting which will be fairly quick and when it's all finished it may return back to your desktop and if that happens just uh return back to the window this pc and we want to move this over because i want to use the snap 2 feature to see side by side from local to dvd so i'm going to press and drag pointing to the title bar here and if you wait for the little transparent box that appears it will snap to on the right and then on the left i want to select my other file explorer window which i already have open and that has snapped to the left so basically you want to select the files from your local drive that you want to burn onto your newly formatted cd okay so let's make sure that on the right we have the dvd drive selected to go ahead and double click that drive okay so i'm just going to select just a few files here and then to burn them onto the newly formatted dvd you can either drag the files over and that will quickly burn them you can also select one or more files and then just right click and copy click over on the right and right click and paste or another way would be again i'll just select a few files and here i have word documents pdfs images you can burn any types of files even wav or mp3 files uh again i'm just selecting a couple more files and the other option would be from the share tab here click burn to disk and that's it and now my files have quickly been burned onto the cd now once you have them on the cd remember you can click on a file and then delete it and if you make any changes to a file you can easily recopy it on the dvd and replace the original file so if you have a bunch of blank cds lying around collecting dust this would be an easy way for you to format your cds and back up your files just like you would on a flash drive if you found this video helpful please click the like button and remember to subscribe so you don't miss any new videos i'll see you in the next video bye now [Music] you
